  1. Are you using Mod Organizer or NMM? I've had this issue before and it's because my Dual Sheath Redux patcher was in the wrong location so couldn't find those masters. Load order may be an issue as well, so double check that.
  2. If you requested people don't upload it elsewhere and people did, that'd be very inappropriate of them and you'd have every right to be irritated at this. It's irrelevant if you personally care about your work being taken and uploaded elsewhere anyway. A mod developer shouldn't have to worry about their mods being uploaded to an officially supported site without their permission.
  3. Run LOOT and see if it provides any errors. Are there any papyrus logs you could share as well? If you have decent internet you could uninstall Skyrim and then delete the Steam folder for Skyrim and reinstall fresh. Launch it normally and then mod it.
  4. I don't want to mess with things I'm unfamiliar with to fix a game that worked previously. It adds another variable that shouldn't be needed, safety load should be plenty. I do believe I fixed it to where it was before I modded it and now that I'm using Mod Organizer I can test the mods I want to add much more efficiently. __________ Heads up, it may not be fixed, but I believe it is, so if you're relying on my "fix" take it with a grain of salt. Solution Reverted back to all old mods using Mod Organizer instead of NMM. For mods that had updates added, I downloaded the updated versions. For mods that have since been removed I grabbed them from my backups (a copypaste of Nexus' download folder) and manually applied them to Mod Organizer. I enabled all of them. Applied the appropriate patches, which for me were Reproccer and Dual Sheath Redux patches and then sorted using LOOT. Mod Organizer recommended some resorting, and I applied that. I loaded up the hard save made for modding and did things that typically have longer load times than normal (fast traveling to big cities mostly) and checked that cities with changes worked. I also opened up each menu and verified MCM menus are all there and functioning. If it ends up not working I will update this but until then it appears to be fine now! Load order at time of posting.
  5. Yeah finding help on this is difficult, especially since there are a variety of causes and it's mostly people making common mistakes. I may be guilty of that but so far I'm just not sure. I've set the new mods to not be installed and currently it's just an infinite loading screen. Progress?? Not sure but I'll continue to tinker with it. Below is my new LOOT load order. The differences are as follows: aMidianBorn mods removed ASIS removed (wasn't a part of my original setup anyway) Bug fixes Brawl Bugs Patch HD enhanced terrain KenMOD Time on Loading Screen Roadsigns redone Ultimate Deadly Encounters All removed Initial loadscreen and a fast travel to Solitude worked fine. Most things seems in order until I test again by fast traveling to Falkreath where the load screen is infinite once more. If I do fix it I will post the solution but so far it appears Ultimate Deadly Encounters was the cause of the temporary freezing. Now I've got infinite loading to tackle.
  6. Yeah that's usually the case with weapon placement. Was it as simple as patching or did it require uninstall -> reinstall?
  7. I'm tired as I initially write this up but here's a quick run down. Earlier today I added some mods to the top of my rickety mod set. Changes I'll come back and edit the links in but here are the mods I added. amidianborn modsdiversified dragons*USLEEPgenesis*ultimate deadly encounters* I added USLEEP and uninstalled the previous unofficial patches, though I may re-add them for future troubleshooting. Got irritated with NMM and uninstalled my mods and moved them over to Mod Organizer. Still broken??? Can't find solution? Uninstall Skyrim entirely. Reinstall.Scrapped those, redownloaded all of them through Mod Organizer sans some of the mods above (the ones I deemed probable culprits). Game works just as before in that the load screen freezes for a bit and Skyrim temporarily stops responding. It resumes as normal, the game is technically playable but with unbearable loadscreens where before they were almost instant. Using MOs capabilities I disabled all of the above except USLEEP and the problem persists.I started a new save just to test if it is unique to my existing saves and it is also present there. I'm currently at a loss. The only major difference is USLEEP and I'm going to test that when I can but I figured I'd see if this is a known issue as well. Sleep is why I can't test it now.I also fully understand that my actions were quite drastic and might make it difficult to pinpoint, but using MO I can revert to the exact mod and load order from before the above mods mentioned, and I intend to. Just don't have the time right now and hope that if it's a known thing it can be called out before I waste time. Current Load OrderHere's my current setup (from LOOT). If there's anything needed to provide a clearer picture just let me know. General InformationIt should not be a hardware issue but I'll post my setup anyway in the event it helps.CPU: i7 4790kRAM: 16GB DDR3Graphics: 980TiDisk: SSD (in that Skyrim is installed on my SSD) The game was fine until I tried to install the mods above. Had some quirks, like not alt-tabbing during a loading screen and occasionally crashing after long sessions but that was pretty much it. LOOT ultimately sorts it to my liking with the exception of the BlackSacramentDBReplacer.esp which I move further down for cosmetic reasons but that's not a part of any issue that i'm aware of. I have a hard save from before the "update" and going back to it it acts like all the mods are being in stalled for the first time. tl;dr Tried to add some mods. Loadscreens would lead to "Skyrim has stopped responding" for a few seconds. Game appears to have worked otherwise. Try to resolve this by getting rid of those mods. Doesn't fix anything. Even new games have this problem.
  8. How recent is this and what mods are you running?
  9. So you're having issues with aMidianBorn textures exclusively or how to get specific textures from various texture mods? Assuming it is texture issues, I personally install the larger packs I prefer before getting to the mods where I want a few textures and not the whole deal. EG Install aMidianBorn > Install specific armor retexture > overwrite specific relevant files. If I'm mistaken just let me know but I hope that helps get you on the right path at least. EDIT: Oh wow I'm dumb, I thought by now they did make a fully comprehensive aMidianBorn installer. My mistake.
  10. I don't know what kind of mods are being used for Xbox One right now but many mods will slow down the game depending on what they're used for. Commonly graphic mods but if there's too much going on for console hardware to handle, such as a large battle, you'll see it. I'm just not sure if those mods are out there right now. I've found that the PC mods don't really add much outside of retextures, new weapons, and some new NPCs who are reskins of existing NPCs with varied stats.
  11. New Vegas is the better game with far more replayability. Fallout 3 is a personal favorite of mine mostly due to the setting but I wish it had much of what New Vegas offers.
  12. I've always adblocked and this is part of why. Even well-meaning websites can accidentally lead to infected users. For sites such as this, I rectify that by trying to pay my dues personally, but if you can't I don't think people think less of you for being mindful of your security.
  13. Depends on the mods. Sometimes I'll do it for an individual texture but usually I do or don't based off of the mod in question. Never a "Yes to all" or "No to all".
  14. It is a simple fact that mods aren't usually optimized with lower end specs in mind. So mods that change physics or lighting are going to take their toll more noticeably on an xbox compared to a mid-range PC or better. Mods that change textures or increase object/NPC count will do the same. I'm not backing up these elitist posts you've seen, but it is true some mods are not going to be console friendly even if the mod author releases them to consoles. The best part with modding is that you decide if it's worth it or not.
  15. Mount & Blade: Warband (it's the best one imo) has you make your character, set your stats, and then the world is yours. I've been a noble knight. A mercenary. A lord. A bandit. A vigilante. A merchant. With mods I've been a soldier and slave trader. An aspiring sword-for-hire working his way up the political ladder. Definitely one of the few games that has you make a character and the world is yours to explore. I recommend getting familiar with horses no matter your playstyle however. Try not being a capable rider and see how far you get on the battlefield.
  16. You'd do best getting help provided in the Fallout 4 mod sections which are in the link provided by qwertyzeldar. It really depends on what you want in mods to know what to look for, especially with Fallout 4 right now. Starting with the popular ones that do basic things like UI fixes, game patches, etc are a safe bet to get the ball rolling.
  17. Just to understand what's going on, you modded your game and your character didn't move; in an attempt to remedy that, you installed another mod?
  18. A screenshot would help others understand what you're getting at. Only issue I've ever had with face/body mismatch was from a face retexture mod that made them HD but the color was slightly off so I got rid of it.
  19. Depends on the mods and what you want. Some mods have separately downloaded patches you'd need to get, others may require a reinstall and selecting the appropriate options. If it were me I'd do a reinstall of any mod I think might take advantage of DLC after checking them for patches on their Nexus page. Really though if you don't want to do that it's likely no harm to your game, the mod just won't have an effect in DLC areas or with DLC items/NPCs.
  20. Validate steam files. Deactivate your mods, start a new game, and see if hearthfire works on a fresh save. It's very unlikely that this is a Hearthfire issue. Quite likely its your mods.
  21. I've got a lot of mods, though it's been a long time since I've interacted with them since I'm quite happy, but I've had no noticeable slowdown since putting Skyrim on an SSD. For heavily modded games an SSD is a must-have nowadays if you ask me, especially with Bethesda games that slow down the longer you go. I'm not sure if that will solve your problem but I do have over 100 mods, many of which rely on scripting, and everything runs very well. I feel as though building a PC just for Skyrim means you should be able to add an SSD into it easily enough and it helps with various games, depending on what you're into.
  22. I honestly never even looked at the README section, my "muscle memory" for this site may be a bit of an obstacle for troubleshooting at this point. Good to know.
  23. So I can't find a README.txt in the mod author's downloads. It's quite possible they simply forgot to toss it in the zip. You've done everything that can be done as far as I can tell, to include asking the author about it. Hopefully they get back to you. Here's the link for anyone trying to do their own helpful search. http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/14749
  24. I believe jim_uk is saying that by the UK leaving it sets the precedent and gets the ball rolling for anyone else considering the same.
  25. Alright guys don't worry about it, I've got my list of mods down. Basically the popular graphical mods, patches and the official PC "DLC" for better or worse. I appreciate the help and quick link to a great resource. Stumbled around, read some tutorials, downloaded a lot more than I thought I'd need and I'm ready to get the ball rolling. It's been a couple of years since I've stepped back over a decade into a game, I'm pretty excited. http://i.imgur.com/ZiY4ie6.png EDIT: A brief update. The Morrowind Graphics Extender (MGE) doesn't seem to be doing its thing, however. I've played through the character creation and made my first save, but the game is its default levels of foggy. Default levels with everything graphical. Can't quite find a fix for this that works and I'm really trying to avoid a full reinstall if I can so if anyone has any pointers, they'd be much appreciated. EDIT: New update! Fixed the problems at hand, though I'm curious just how crazy I can go with the distant land generator, as it doesn't seem to change the fog all too much with generic settings. In case anyone else runs into the same problem or is just curious, I uninstalled the MGE I had (3.3.0 I think) and got MGE 3.8.0 and used it instead. Worked like a charm. http://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/5535
