  1. I continue to be constantly annoyed by the fact that Power Armor no longer requires training. While I love the power armor system in Fallout 4, as opposed to the mere clothing it was in earlier games, the fact that it is now a vehicle makes the lack of any skill requirement to use (when all previous games required training) even more stupid. It really is immersion breaking every time I see a common raider walking around in a suit, or indeed any time I think of that first save the minutemen quest in terms of a female character. While the male (ex-soldier) should automatically have the required training, the wife should not. Implementing a restriction into the game could be quite difficult given the new system, but I have two proposals, the latter I suspect being more feasible. Proposal 1: Make it impossible to enter a suit of power armor if you lack the required perk and disable all raiders and gunners from using power armor. Proposal 2: Anyone can wear power armor and gain the protection it affords against physical and radiation damage; however if you lack the training required to properly use it then you should suffer severe stat penalties while in the armour. -5 perception -5 charisma -10) agility -5 luck There is no reason for strength, endurance or intelligence to be reduced, it's still power armor after all. Who would have the training? Brotherhood of Steel - either all members, or all members except initiates, Atom Cats The occasional (non-feral) Ghoul. Anyone else it makes logical sense for, I haven't explored the game fully, but frankly that is all I an think of. How does one acquire the training? Its not a perk-chart perk, but more like the perks earned by impressing companions or collecting bobbleheads. Male character has it automatically. For the female character who was a lawyer before the war, it must be learned. - Brotherhood of Steel when you are given your suit of PA aboard the Prydwyn. - Atom Cats if you make friends with them. (perhaps its a reward for fending off a raider attack) - Might also be possible to obtain a training manual from an undisturbed section of a pre-war military base or bunker. However, that would require creating a book or holo-tape which one can read to learn the skill. Perhaps that could even explain the raiders and gunners, although I'd rather they just have the stat penalties.
  2. I am hoping that someone can make a texture replacer for the combat helmet which changes not so much its skin as its entire appearance. This is because (to me) the helmet looks almost like cyborg General Tao's head and I just cannot wear a helmet that makes me look like that, both because its goofy and because its General Tao. Its also a bit reminiscent of the old stack-hat bicycle helmets which they stopped making, despite them being easily the safest helmet around, because no-one wanted to wear such an uncool helmet.
  3. To be fair, about the rad storms, gamma rays pass easily through most materials, unless your shelter is properly underground or lead-lined, it probably shouldn't block rads. That said, I do agree that it would be good from a gameplay perspective if; so long as all outside connecting holes are sealed (ie. the door is closed and there are no open windows or gaping holes in the wall) then rad should be blocked. Hopefully we will see this some time soon, maybe when the GECK comes out.
  4. We definitely need a port of Real Shelter for Fallout 4. It is very disconcerting to see rain drops on your power armour visor or just to stay wet when you are standing under a solid roof.
  5. I think the worst part of the current system though is Sanctuary residents worried about ghouls on the far side of Diamond City, also Preston Garvy is a lazy bum, why can't he and his minutemen handle quests delivered from Sanctuary.
  6. There is this mod, which I have been using for a while, it does reduce her faces cuteness a tad, but it essentially works: Alternate Hairstyles for Curie by Zazquatch Another mod is: Better Curie - Unique Rifle - Many options - Synth or Blue Eyes - Original or New Looks by jdb1776 , however it does do a lot more than just the hair. Alternately you could try the instructions here: https://www.reddit.com/r/fo4/comments/3u1isj/how_to_change_the_appearance_and_hair_of_curie/ However every time I have tried to directly edit Curie she has either turned invisible or her clothes have completely spazzed out; still its worth experimenting with. Meantime I am still hoping someone just makes a wigs of all colours and styles mod.
  7. I am trying the home mods now, but I also would love to see all of Sanctuary restored to its former glory.
  8. Yeah its one of the many major problems. My settlements are all completely surrounded by heavy laser and missile turrets, defence rating from 200-600 generally depending on the size of the place; and yet attacks still happen and I have to personally show up for them to survive even though all I do is sit behind a wall while the turrets wipe out the super mutant horde in 5-15 seconds. And even with that level of defence they still feel threatened by three ghouls and can't stop raiders from kidnapping people who I have armed with fully tricked out guns. Which is why I'd love this mod.
  9. I was hoping someone could make a mod which allows you to put more than one mod onto a power armour piece (torso mainly) at a time. Thus enabling you to have stealth boy, jet pack and tesla coils all at once. Plus str boost, endurance boost, low weight etc. Thank you.
  10. I would also like to see this mod, you are wearing the armour under the power armour after all. I'd actually assumed they did auto-stack, this explains why VATS is costing so much.
  11. Wearing Power Armour should really make you immune to poison attacks; after all you are wearing a solid steel heavy vehicle which should provide considerable protection against insect stings. You are also breathing purified air so airborn poisons should have little to no affect. So I feel that PA helmets/frames should give the same not applicable poison resistance that synths get. Or at the least 1000 resistance. Can anyone make this mod please?
  12. Problem is the minutemen quests have a time limit on them, if you don't talk to the settlers you fail the quest, which doesn't actually seem to do anything, but it still bothers me. And if you complete it but fail to tell Garvey it will eventually complete on its own, and you can also pick them up from the Castle, or just settlers wandering up to you in a settlement. Good luck on your mod JTL2.
  13. It is really unrealistic and exceedingly annoying that there is such a huge damage penalty on faster firing weapons. The mini-gun in particular with its base damage of 8 per shot, but even the hair trigger causes a significant reduction and all auto weapons do a 1/3 to half the damage of a non-auto barrel. Its silly, faster firing weapons don't do less damage, if anything they should do more. There is already balancing in place in the form of accuracy and recoil, there doesn't need to be a damage nerf on top of that. So if any modders out there agree with me, could you please create a mod that makes fire-rate have no affect on damage output.
  14. This request is mainly because it seems impossible to modify Curie as she either goes invisible or has a complete texture spazz-out when you try to change anything, that's if her hair changes at all. It could be useful for all companions though and even the -player if you can't be bothered getting a haircut. A mod that adds all the different hairstyles as wearable wigs in different colours, redhead, blonde, brunette, etc please. Ideally sold at the clothes shop in Diamond City, but I'd take console adds at this time The pompadour style is already a wig, so I presume the framework for this does exist. Thank you/
  15. I rather enjoyed Travis' timid radio personality, it was refreshingly amusing, whereas: Spoiler So if anyone can make a mod that keeps his on-air personality timid it would be great.
  16. I don't know about you, but I have really had enough of spending all my playtime running back and forth across the map repeating already completed quests for the minutemen because every time you talk to Preston Garvy he gives you another one. I have to find my son FFS! I can't constantly be re-killing three ghouls or re-clearing Corvega because a settlement with 30 turrets around it feels threatened. If anyone can make a mod which stops the settlements having additional problems once they have been cleared that would be fantastic. Actual attacks on the settlements are another matter, and really should be able to be resolved without you, especially as without Fast Travel how can you reach them in time. But its the repeating quests that is the real issue Thank you.
  17. With that gorgeous French accent, especially when dresses in army fatigues and cap it just seems so appropriate, but mostly its just fun and sexy. If Curie could occasionally say the French Resistance ladies line from the show 'Ello 'Ello "Listen very carefully, I shall say this only once."
  18. I have a similar problem trying to mine stalhrim, except that what is happening is the mine command doesn't seem to be registering, I press the button and nothing happens. I have tried hitting it with the pickaxe and that does nothing either, its as if the stalhrim is unminable, or perhaps the ancient pickaxe is missing the stalhrim flag or something.
  19. I have the same problems with my copy, as well as a rather serious CTD issue in The Fade, but that's another matter. While I know of no actual fix for the missing icons and Duncan's Sword texture, you can use The Winter Forge to apply a texture to Duncan's Sword (its supposed to be Orlesian model). Enable override and use the forgemasters tools. The Forgemaster tools also include an option to change icons. Only trouble with the forge is its so hard to resist the temptation to make god armour and god weapons. Although personally I think being a little OP helps to make the combat more interesting. Personal taste though.
