Try renaming your SKyrim Special Edition INI file in My Games\Skyrim SE\ so that the game regenerates a new one. It could be a glitched INI setting I was able to find what was going on. Someone on the Steam boards and sent a link to where I could easily follow. I never knew I had to add a game to my graphics nor have Windows run off my card. Which is odd, before I never had to do this without any crashes. Thank you for helping me :). There some good things I learned and did. I now switch from the old Nexus Mod Manager to the community NMM. And can now download directly.

Just as something to do. I installed regular Skyrim and it didnt crash. So I'm thinking it has to do with SE its self.

Not once did you mention if you PURGED the Mods BEFORE you did all of that. If you didn't, then Vortex still believes that all of your mods are still installed. I use Nexus, I just deleted it from my laptop. Do I need to delete the games Nexus folder that has all my mods? Sorry if this sounds dense. If you didn't PURGE, then you left the Hardlinks between the installed mods and your Data folder. Which means all of the Mod paths are still saved in C:\users\YOUR NAME\appdata\roaming\Vortex\ Also, unless you Manually Deleted your Game Folder, then those links are still there, so even when you install new mods, all your old ones are still there, because if you leave stuff in a Steam Game Folder, and Uninstall a game using Steam, it only knows to remove the Files that Steam installs, and it leaves everything else in the Folder. I purged everything from Nexus. and deleted the game folder in the app and game folder. I now remember that Steam did crash, could this be the cause of not launching the game?

This is happening to me as well. Last week I was able to play, now I cant even launch. Something changed in the download. I also tried launching without any mods. Reinstalled the game and even went to Bethesda themselves, and they only offered the same damn things I already tried. I sent them my DxDiag, so hopefully they can see something wrong. That I cannot see.

I've ran across this as well. I thought it was a few castle mods that was near Winterrun. I did all of the required missions, was made thane got the dialog that let me buy Breezehome. Went to the steward. He didnt have the dialog to buy the home. I tried my other home I liked to buy in Solitude. I got the mission from the yarl, did her mission for the helm and her submission. However, I am unable to buy the home. I tried to a new install, removed mods that I thought was making so I couldn't buy, such a making the npcs pretty. Tried a new save, rushed through and still no buy option. Is there a way to force the buy option?

I dont know. I do know that sometime last year they introduced a game breaking bug (that still hasn't been fixed). When you go to Covenant and try to do the quest or pick something, I can no longer earn any xp. This is why, whenever I go near there I save beforehand and just passthrough. Does anyone know how I can fix this game breaking bug. Also note I do not have any mod that changes Covenant. Or anything that alters the xp gain.

Dang, that is about the time I started seeing a laggy connection. I asked on the Fallout 4 forums about Loverslab just a few minutes ago. Also this is bit disconcerting when I saw a file wanting to dl when I wasn't dling anything. I hope whatever the issue is, the admins there fix the website. Awhile ago I scorched Earth my Skyrim game and mods, and the mods I have installed in Nexus I uninstalled, now they are dead installs. :(

Anyone else having problems getting in Loverslab today? For me, it has been slow to connect at which point, I see someting that has an x and says something like unable to reach. Just wondering if it is just me.

Please note i have not changed anything. Is there a way I can fix this bug?

I's giving FO4 a long break. Many due to all of these cc updates and no bug fixes. I had plans on getting 76, but after these updates has soured me to it. :(

I am right there with you. These are pointless money grubbing. The only time they tried to bud fix was two updates ago, and that broke a few things. The best thing I could offer is make a backup copy of both the FO4 launchers and keep them safe. Next when you go to your FO4 folder in steam, right click the both apps and make them read-only. This will negate any patching. You will still updated but it wont destroy your folder or apps. And if they do, you have a backup copy, just drag into your folder and overwrite. I have the steam pending, and I am still able to play. :smile: I hope this helps you out. I also agree that I cant wait for 76 so Beth leaves us the hell alone. In fact I am debating on waiting until November to play again, or January when I get a new laptop. I have no interest in 76 because of these pointless "updates". I respect the modders that want to get paid for their work. I just dont like how Beth is doing it. And if you think about it, this game is not an online service, it is a transactional service. Offline games dont have a terms of service. Yet we are "required" by steam to update. And there isn't any kind of bug fixes.

I had this happen to me last time. I even asked Beth to help and what they said is "due to my computer not meeting the bare minimum as of the last update they are unable to help me." It broke everything, I tried every thing I could think of. What helped was whipping out everything FO4 related, from the ini files, to the game directory. Your computer as of this moment doesn't meet the minimum anymore, sadly. Try undeleting the game, disable every mod you have, and then delete any FO4 folder from the ini files to directory.

How is it possible for an update to be forced? I have staem offline with only update when i am not even online, plus i have my launcher read only, which also serves as write protected. The last update made my computer unable to play, and this update will destroy it yet again.

You are missing a good chunck of your pref ini. everything below [lod] is gone. There is suppose to be so much more, such as NVhbe0, NVFlex, BlurshaderHDR, Laucher, and Betheada.net. It would seem that you deleted these parts of the ini file. If your game never had them, then you need to uninstall and reinstall. Afterward log in once play for a few minutes. You will get these parts back.

Ever since I was forced to update last week, I have been crashing to desktop on entering Diamond City. This happens after reaching level 17 or higher, I have no idea on why this is happening. Or even how to fix this.

I had my update when I launched, but I was just now foreced to update. Luckily I was able to revert back to a pervious game version. Now I am forced to restart due to this forced update causes me to crash on trying to get into Diamond City. After five CDT's, this is the only thing that I can come up with, for me to crash.

This didnt work for me :sad:, I followed the directions exactly. I need to correct my post, I used the first posts example. When someone asked about .82 which I use, the op had another post using the one I needed. this works and thank you to the op. :). I have also turned off auto update on steam, so I hope I never have to update for something I will never use anyway.
