So yeah! Ghosts in Skyrim are crap-level disappointments and while I've seen people tweaking with stats and skins on them... THEY NEED TO BE SCRAPPED AND REPLACED! Seriously... how is this for a mod suggestion! Totally create a new floating-style ghost creature that only barely resembles a human in form (more like a ghastly twisting mass of ectoplasm like what we had in Oblivion). They would also be surrounded by a thick fog that obscures the monster's form even more and casts and eerie glow on the surroundings... disappearing and going dark from time to time (with only a faint image of glowing eyes visible). They would also make the spoooookiest sounds imaginable of moaning and wailing and groaning and the like! While I do think it would be nice to go back to the scheme of Oblivion where they could only be destroyed by silver or enchanted weapons... I think it would ALSO be a great idea to have another class of these creatures that exist only as phantom images to confuse and bewilder the player. These ones would only be subtly different from the hostile ghosts and would not attack the player nor can they be attacked or killed with any weapon... rather they can only be de-materialized via a Magelight or Turn Undead spell. This would cause a player to be on edge... not knowing what ghosts are just tormenting illusions and which ones are hostile spirits. To be honest I'd almost be fine with just having the non-hostile ghosts to add ambiance and spooky atmosphere to areas too! I think there are all manner of places in the game that would do well with having a population of these things. ESPECIALLY the swamps in Morthal and various ruined structures in the game! Replacing the big disappointing ghosts in this game with something floaty... and spooky... and totally NOT just a re-skinned cop-out of the awful cop-out Skyrim ghosts! We neeeed this sooo muchhh!!!

So I was thinking of role playing a character who travels and lives without use of money or gold. I thought it would be fun to be able to donate any acquired wealth to various temples. However, it seems like only the temple of Mara allows donations and only in a small amount. I was thinking maybe it would be nice to have a mod that adds the option of donating to every major temple in the game such as the temples of Kynareth and Arkay in Whiterun. Adding dialogue options to the priests might be troublesome (especially considering voices) so maybe it would be good to have donations handled via "donation boxes". Perhaps there could even be small "blessings" attached to the giving of donations? Maybe they could even be looted when you're in a crouching position... you could steal the donations of others but maybe get some kind of "bad karma" debuff.. or crime points if someone sees you!

So I noticed all these mods to create super-duper ultra high powered deadly magic Telekinesis... but I haven't seen any that add a novice (or even apprentice) level version of the spell? Would anyone be willing to add a novice level version of the spell with the effects drastically reduced which a character can learn and use fresh into the game? Honestly, I'm mostly looking for something to help me pick up nearby objects and toss them up over walls and stuff. Perhaps it could be a spell that aids in moving objects but can't actually add them into your inventory?

Yeah... actually, I had mentioned it on the comments page of the Widget Mod (http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/57929/?) and it looks like they've just updated it with the functionality today! So yeah... guess that fulfills that request, for sure!

So sometimes it's hard to tell what rate you are actually recovering these three important things in and since one can often stack lots of little bonuses via enchantments and the like... just looking that over can be a number-crunching headache. Also, I'm currently using Vinis Legit Food and Rest which sets these recovery rates to 0 unless you have eaten or rested (or have other things helping to boost these recovery rates). It would be really helpful to have an on screen HUD type thing to track the recovery rate # as I play. Maybe just a % number next to the bars themselves? Does anyone know about a mod that does this or would anyone be willing to make one if not? I've spent the past hour scouring through the Nexus and haven't seen anything that adds this type of HUD yet... HUDs for arrow count, carry weight, time of day, hell... even light level!... but no HUD for these three restoration rates... Not looking to install more complicated mods like iNeed... just want a basic hud add on to augment my existing mod load that I'm using on a multitude of characters.

LE Dragons Don't Exist (Main Quest removal)
Abraxastaroth replied to Abraxastaroth's topic in Skyrim's Mod Ideas
Yeah... like I said in the initial post... I'm already using and relying on Live Another Life quite heavily. That In Your Shadow mod doesn't really look like what I'm after though... It's not so much getting rid of random spawning dragons that I'm looking for... I'm more in the market for totally eradicating the existence and mention of dragons entirely... ESPECIALLY Alduin, Parthanux, etc... as well as wanting to never ever ever ever hear anyone mention having seen dragons or dragon attacks being a point of conversation. Miirak and his dragons also need to bugger off since he makes exploring an intersting new island such a sleepless hassle! In Your Shadow would fail in the sense that you have to complete part of the main quest involving dragons before you engage it... Live Another Life fails because it has the trigger of "investigating Helgen" that starts you down that tired and familar main quest road. I'll totally have to look into Skyrim Unbound more when I have a chance... it seems promising... even if it may or may not be a thorough at getting rid of those dragon pests and related quests as I would like...- 4 replies

While I like mods like "Live Another Life" I feel like it doesn't go far enough in giving you freedom from the main quest line. Some of us would like to play the game not only role playing as someone who isn't a Dragonborn but also in a world where dragons simply don't exist at all! It might be a bit of a task but I'm surprised that no one yet has tried to come up with a mod that removes the main quest and references by npcs to dragons entirely from the game! - Helgen could have it's destruction tied to the civil war instead or perhaps left fully in tact. - Dragon walls don't make the chanty-chanty noise and don't teach the player any shouts. - All starting triggers and references to the main quest are erased/blocked with no chance of dragons every appearing anywhere. - Solstheim has no Miirak and all quests associated with Dragons or Dragonborns could be re-routed in different ways. - Other locations that are usually only accessible via the main quest are made accesible as normal dungeons. etc... Seriously though... Skyrim makes me sick of dragons... It feels like Skyrim would be a much better game if we could just mod those beasts (and the main quest with it) out the window! Anyone up for making something like this?

LE Staves / Scroll use grants skill experience!
Abraxastaroth replied to Abraxastaroth's topic in Skyrim's Mod Ideas
Wait DrNewcenstein... if you play the xbox version why are you on a modding community? Can you even do modding on the xbox? And maybe the staves work differently on xbox but I'm certainly not getting any xp gains from using them on pc and never recall ever having gains from their use. Also, Iofgren... if you could that would be awesome. -
LE Staves / Scroll use grants skill experience!
Abraxastaroth replied to Abraxastaroth's topic in Skyrim's Mod Ideas
Yeah... I think that would count as "overly complicated re-configuring of the entire skill system mods" which is exactly what I'm trying to avoid resorting to. I'm just wishing there were simple very specific targeted (and less likely to conflict with and bugger up other mods) that just adds a experience gain every time you use staves and scrolls. I've seen specific mods like that which give smithing xp for smelting and alchemy xp for cooking. Why wouldn't a specific mod exist for giving magic xp for staves and scrolls...? It seems like something someone should already have made and put up at the Nexus... but alas... nope... *sigh*... -
I would like to play a mage character who refuses to cast magic with her hands but instead casts only with scrolls and staves. Of course... this runs into the problem of it being nearly impossible (save for skill books and trainers) to level magic skills for her. I did see some overly complicated re-configuring of the entire skill system mods out there that may add this effect for just staves... but please... could anyone possibly make a simple mod that allows the use fo staves and scrolls to level the respective school of magic they're associated with? It just seems natural to me that using magical tools would allow you to level those associated skils, no? It's sad that... so far... I've almost never used these tools in Skyrim (only looking at staves and scrolls as an easy source of gold when I sold them off).

LE Mass Zombie Raising Power (Necromancy)
Abraxastaroth replied to Abraxastaroth's topic in Skyrim's Mod Ideas
Yeah, the only modding I've ever done was a straight graphical swap-out that I could do in Photoshop. I barely know where to begin on making mods beyond that... thus why I'm asking in the mod request forum. If I could do it myself, I wouldn't likely be posting here... :P -
I've seen some mods that allow children to wear the adult armor and clothing in a serious manner. But how funny would it be to have a mod that let's them wear these armors to a more realistic scale! I can just imagine fitting your adopted little ones in oversized Necromancer robes that hang all baggy... dragging in a long tail on the floor with big oversized sleeves!! It would be like an adorable little coven of dinky-sized darkness! Or decking a kid out in an oversized suit of goofy-fitting armor with a helmet that sits awkwardly askew on their tiny heads. Awww... wook at the widdle warrior!!

LE Mass Zombie Raising Power (Necromancy)
Abraxastaroth replied to Abraxastaroth's topic in Skyrim's Mod Ideas
I meant more of... won't attack the player because they are the one who raised the zombie.... but will attack anyone else... so like the zombies/thralls you raise... but just minus the "follower" bit. I was just stressing that me, myself personally, am seeking this power/effect less as a means of attack and more of a means of creating ambient undead npcs that shamble about and moan. -
LE Clavicus Vile Horns/Circlet (Not Mask)
Abraxastaroth replied to Abraxastaroth's topic in Skyrim's Mod Ideas
I mean, there are other horn mods out and about that I've used before. I think the character in my avatar is wearing horns even. If only I knew more about modding and had the set-up to work on futzing with the resources. I don't imagine it would be too hard to just lop the horns of the mask (or the rest of the mask off of the horns, depending how you look at it :P ) and then allow the player to wear those on their head in place of the full mask, yeh?- 2 replies

This would be lovely... I was thinking the same thing for covens of witches in the game... or Necromancers and the like. I've always thought it was a shame that a character role playing as one of these evil types can't actually join up with the evil groups and gain them as allies!

LE Mass Zombie Raising Power (Necromancy)
Abraxastaroth replied to Abraxastaroth's topic in Skyrim's Mod Ideas
That's the problem though... a mod like that... and the others like it I've found is focused on thralls/zombies who follow you. I want to have a kind of power that raises the dead to be their own free agents (I.e. they become like non-hostile (to the player) npc creatures and DON'T follow you). It's much less about acquiring another "tool" to use in battle... much more about wanting to role play an evil necromancer who wishes to trap their defeated enemies in a state of un-attached wandering zombification. It's like a way of making it so a location I've cleared isn't left desolate and devoid of creatures. I can raise them all as zombies and have them as a kind of ambiance to the (now zombie-corrupted) space. If I choose to visit again, I can count on these zombies still being present and wandering around for me to mingle with... laugh at... taunt... perhaps to kill and then raise again. So yeah... more of a twisted necromancer role-playing thing, for me anyways. -
I was searching through the mods on the Nexus and didn't see one like this. But I was hoping that someone might make a power (not a spell) that casts an area effect raising all corpses in the area as undead (non-hostile to the player / hostile to other life-forms) NPCs (not followers). I mean, I do like the regular necromancy conjuration spells in the game and dead thrall spells. But sometimes my necromancer would just like to turn all the corpses in an area into a mess of unthinking, grim, shambling, undead corpses with no will other than to stumble about seeking the flesh of the living (player character who revived them excluded, of course). Y'know? Like I want them to suffer onward as fetid walking corpses but I don't want the stinky things actually following me around or associating me, y'dig!? As a nice tie-in to the game... perhaps the mod-maker could make the power obtainable through the Potema quest-line... perhaps something you get upon obtaining her skull? Could be a good bonus for those of us who may want to play the Potema questline with some other (more sinister) motivation besides the usual "saving the world from the reawakened evil queen" jive, no?

So I'm totally vain and hate Hate HATE any helmets that covers my character's hair and face. That being said, I've never wanted to wear the Masque of Clavicus Vile due to the fact that it not only covers your head and hair but also your entire face! I'm curious if anyone might be willing to make a mod that turns this Daedric artifact from being a full helmet into something more like a circlet/hairband type of thing with horns... or if that is too complicated perhaps someone could make it into just a pair of horns that your character could wear? That way a vain person like me who loves to see their character's face at all times can finally use this artifact!

LE Simple Mod Request for an Enchantable Wedding Wreath
Abraxastaroth replied to Abraxastaroth's topic in Skyrim's Mod Ideas
Right... but I only have the game installed and took out all the software for modding files in the game. I really don't feel like going to the trouble of installing it again. If it's that easy I was hoping someone could make the simple mod and put it up on the Nexus for me and other users who want this feature (but don't want to go to the trouble of modding it ourselves). Pretty please, anyone?- 3 replies

So I really love the "Wedding Wreath" item that you can get during the "Bound Until Death" quest in the game (or via console commands). Still, I was quite disappointed to find that, although it shows up on the list of enchantable items, none of the enchantments that would normally be available for things like helmets, hats, or circlets are availible for the wreath. I looked around and couldn't find any mods that address this issue, please forgive me if I overlooked one that does exist. It seems like it would be a simple mod to create wouldn't it? I figure it woudl just be a matter of changing the properties for accepted enchantments on the item iteslf, no? I'm hoping that someone might be kind enough to put together a simple mod for this... I'd think it would be fair to have the availible enchantements for the wreath be the same as those for a circlet so maybe just copy over from a circlet the properties that make it enchantable? I'm not really well versed in creating mods that mess with properties... but I'd figure it's something like that. If one would make something like this, they'd have my undying gratitude... for sure! Cheers!

I remember when I finally completed that Dark Brotherhood quest where you can get the flowered wreath from the wedding I was really happy with it and wore it around for quite some time. I love the idea that someone might be able to take the basic model and concept of the wedding wreath and make a variety of clothing head-wear wreaths with different variations... perhaps they could be craftable with different colors of mountain flowers or other flowering plants? Heck, maybe even a glowing wreath craftable from nirnroot would be cool. In general I'd love more variety in wearable head-gear that doesn't remove the character's hair (like circlets)... and more wreaths seems like someone no one else has thought to expand on yet. So anyone want to take up this kind of project?

I think it's less of there being official design differences but, in the case of the English localization, they didn't really think much about sticking to a set design and took liberties with the art they created for it over here. Seems like often a lot of art and designs of characters were changed willy nilly from the originals back then Americanizing them and going to lengths to make them look less "cartoonish"... sometimes to quite bemusing results (like the cover of the first Mega Man game for NES). And yeah... searching for "Roto's Sword" might help... or searching for 「ロトの剣」 can get even better ones.
-
Right, "Erdrick's Sword" being the name that it was given when they changed the name of the Legendary Hero in those early Dragon Warrior translations (although I hear they changed it back to Roto/Loto or something like that in the more recent re-releases for Gameboy). Either way... that picture you put there is also really Americanized or changed from the original iconic design. The whole set of Roto's Armor, Shield, Helmet, and Sword had a very unique look based off the "Crest of Roto" (ロトの紋章) design. Here's an image I found online of a cool set of collectables based on all the vestments and crest of the hero: http://i231.photobucket.com/albums/ee149/michaeleleng/armor1.jpg Also another image of a replica of the sword that totally gets the spirit of the original right, imo: http://blog-imgs-56.fc2.com/k/o/u/kouboumirage/IMG_20120714_123629_convert_20120716143257.jpg

I'm a big fan of fairy tales, especially the classic story of Little Red Riding Hood. Of course, Skyrim has the wonderful aspect of werewolves being included in its gameplay which can be evocative of that tale. It got me to thinking that perhaps it would be fun to see a few armor and accessory items added to the game which would hearken to the story? The most important and essential elements of this, to me, would be a cute red hooded cloak and a basket of goodies (which could perhaps be an accessory that hooks off the side of the arm) and a set of wolf ears and tail (perhaps taken from those parts of the in-game werewolf design to be worn by the player). Maybe there could even be a hybrid version that puts wolf ears on the little-red cloak as well? So far Cloaks of Skyrim (http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/12092) has a nice looking red linen cloak in it that kinda' works, but it could use a matching hood. Also there is the Kaw Cat Disguise Set (http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/6150) which is similar to what I'm talking about but with cat parts instead of wolf ones. Or hey! Another idea further on this... Maybe wolf claws for gauntlets or some kind of weapon?? It might look totally silly having big hairy wolf arms on the main character's human body... but I don't think it's bad to have some silly fun every now and again, do you?

LE A very tiny, but incredibly useful mod request
Abraxastaroth replied to Arrun's topic in Skyrim's Mod Ideas
I'd also really like to know how one would go about adjusting this. I had to uninstall that "Cloaks of Skyrim" mod (which I thought seemed pretty cool and close to something I would want in my game) because my character who wields a battleaxe had said axe clipping straight through the cloak all the while. If there's a way to adjust this up in Creation Kit or an easily patching mod someone could make, this would make me quite happy!
