Invisible Armor Layer that goes over everything
InfiniteWarrior replied to BlackZero500's topic in Fallout 4's Mod Ideas
No idea if the Black Widow armor is compatible with it, but you might try Concealed Armors. -
lest120: I believe the point is to avoid cluttering up the workbench with useless junk to begin with by streamlining the scrapping process itself, allowing the player to "store" only items that are actually of use. It's not lazy; it's common sense...something Bethesda appears to be in short supply of. No one in their right mind would would store tons of junk in a workbench (which wouldn't hold it anyway) -- much less lug it around -- in the real world. Why FO? In conjunction with the 'scrap on the fly' mod, it would make the less savory aspects of the game much more appealing to many of us. Those who don't want to use such a mod wouldn't have to.

Silence Chem Usage Commentary
InfiniteWarrior replied to InfiniteWarrior's topic in Fallout 4's Mod Ideas
Nah. I just want the chem comments gone. -
lest120: He's talking about a mod that streamlines scrapping itself, i.e. scrapping items directly from the menu rather than dropping them on the ground first.
-
A simple mod that allows us to take our chems in peace. (Eliminate comments, e.g. " f*#@ing KIIIIIIIIIIIIIILLLLLLLLLL", etc.) if there's a simple way to do this without modding, I'd love to hear it.
-
Second, along with the 'scrap on the fly' mod. Might be a bit tricky as it would require opening a menu within a menu. Unsure if that's feasible. But the idea is sound.

Disassembly kit, why carry around heavy junk?
InfiniteWarrior replied to brad456's topic in Fallout 4's Mod Ideas
Intended to post a 'scrap on the fly' request myself. There are several now, so I'll just add my thoughts to yours, if I may. It's beyond ridiculous for Bethesda to have required players to lug around desk fans, typewriters and gas cans. Apparently, they think it's funny. It isn't. And, of course, not even remotely fun. I'd be happy with an alternative to the activate key: a simple secondary key that opens the scrap menu for the item selected instead. The activate key could remain for use on items one has no intention of scrapping. Requiring a portable tool kit be present in the inventory menu (the same as requiring an ammo press kit in the ammo crafting mod for FO3) would serve the "realism" factor just fine...at least for me. No tables or extra time required. Everywhere I've been, if there weren't already tables, desks and other elevated surfaces scattered about, there was always the floor and/or the ground to "work" on. An added bonus would be the ability to to select just the components one needs from any item, as opposed to the automatic addition of another 3 or 4 useless pieces of steel. Not as simple as just opening the existing scrap menu, but doable. -
Messed up first-person camera...Understatement...
InfiniteWarrior replied to UrbanSurgeon's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
I don't use FNIS myself and have been racking my brains to try and think if any mods could be affecting the camera or character's height. It occured to me that I have both The Dance of Death and RaceMod installed. One affects the kill cams (at least) and the other has a slider for character height. Pretty sure this was happening before either were installed, though. Can't imagine the new kill cams would be affecting regular gameplay, but will try turning these mods off to see if the problem is there. Highly doubtful, but there we are. Thanks for the memory jogs, anyway. -

I'm using no mods that affect the camera. Just the basic texture/water/armor mods. -
Messed up first-person camera...Understatement...
InfiniteWarrior replied to UrbanSurgeon's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
I don't have exactly this problem, but am having an issue with the cam. I've come to call it the "drunk cam". It happens on transition, e.g. fast travel, walking through a door, etc. It's not consistent. Occasionally it happens; occasionally it doesn't; but the camera just goes wonky. When you look around, the effect is...well, drunkenness. (Best I can describe it.) The only way to fix it is to exit the game and restart. I can't be the only one having this issue, either. I've looked everywhere for a cause and fix to no avail. If anyone has any clues, they'd be most appreciated. -
Are you speaking of the models, textures or both, specifically? aMidianBorn Book of Silence doesn't change the models (aka vanilla), but the texture work is top of the line. Definitely a more enjoyable look.

LE Health/Stamina/Magicka bars that display actual number value
InfiniteWarrior replied to Q15's topic in Skyrim's Mod Ideas
Not sure if I understood this one correctly, but with Less Intrusive HUD, you can rotate the bars. -
LE Input Specific Numerical Amount(s) via Keyboard
InfiniteWarrior replied to GrimReapers1's topic in Skyrim's Mod Ideas
Likewise. I despise all those sliders. What were they thinking? console friendly control scheme? Exactly. PC development is apparently "a headache", but much more could have been done with the UI, at least, as the SkyUI team has proven. I call "lazy" on Bethesda. ; ) -
LE Combat sound warning instead of music
InfiniteWarrior replied to Lambar's topic in Skyrim's Mod Ideas
No Combat Music might help a bit. It doesn't replace the music with anything else, but may tide you over until such a mod is available. There's actually plenty of warning of an imminent attack in vanilla. Wolves howl; frost trolls grunt; bandits talk to each other (or themselves); random NPCs actually announce themselves (like the idiots they are); etc. And, of course, you can see one of those inept assassins from the Dark Brotherhood coming from a mile away. Haven't tried the mod yet, so I don't know how effective it is.- 2 replies

Solved. Using the Less Intrusive HUD mod (many thanks to kryptopyr for bringing it to my attention), I was able to simply position all the offending messages off-screen. Technically, they're still there, but the objective was to remove them from sight and this essentially does the trick.

LE Desperately looking for a mod that fixes Khajiit hairstyle #5
InfiniteWarrior replied to Chronoid's topic in Skyrim's Mod Ideas
This happens with the hairstyle I'm using on a male Nord as well. It's not a Khajitt-only issue. -
I believe this is an issue with SkyUI as the text wraps properly in vanilla. I haven't experienced it myself, but hopefully, there will be a fix by the SkyUI team for that in the future. At any rate, journal entries are fine by me. It's the frequent, never-ending onscreen messages that are aggravating the hell out of me. I'd like to get rid of all of them, quest objectives included, and just access the journal for information/memory-refreshers on the quest objectives themselves. Alas, I've no idea how to go about it or I'd do it myself.

Help me choose the best updated Magic Mod?
InfiniteWarrior replied to Chrisfo3's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
There's also Phenderix Magic Evolved, which includes 272 spells. Playing a ranger, I just have the mod installed for the more practical, e.g. Fortify Smithing, Fortify Enchanting, Cure Disease, etc., all of which work just fine. In my case, most of the spell books stay in the chests they can be lifted from with the 'clean cheats' version installed. (I couldn't stand all the 'Manantis' Amabassadors and guards cluttering up every location in Skyrim.) So, needless to say, I haven't tried the vast majority of the spells and can't vouch for the mod's stability. No idea whether or not it's compatible with SkyRe. Some commenters are apparently using the two together. -
Ugh! Right? I just use CBBE for female characters and Better Males for male characters specifically for the changes they've made to hands and feet. Both come complete with never-nude versions.

"Read Daynas Valen's journal," sayeth Skyrim. Er...well, I would...IF I COULD SEE IT! Of course, it's quite a while before I can because several quest objectives are presented on top of it, one after another, at a ridiculously huge font size. Naturally, Forbidden Legend isn't the only quest in which this happens and it's not just when game direction appears over the top of journal and book texts that it proves annoying. I should also mention the "Open the skills menu to level up" text that continually pops up until the player complies. (I don't know about anyone else, but I always level up when I'm damn good and ready. Hint: it's not in the middle of a dungeon crawl.) In fact, all the game direction -- quest objectives, "spell learned", "level up", etc. -- that pops up on the screen spoils immersion, imho. Only occasionally has it proved necessary to avoid confusion. The mod I have in mind would have choices ("hide all", "show all", "hide/show quest objectives", "hide/show informational texts", etc.) and essentially relocate all directional text that does appear to, say, bottom-center of the screen in a reasonable font size. I imagine quite a bit of scripting would be involved, but if Gopher can make the HUD disappear and the entire inventory interface can be reworked, I should think this would be child's play for a good scripter.

LE I don't want to see Aventus Aretino! ABANDON QUEST!
InfiniteWarrior replied to JacquesStrappe88's topic in Skyrim's Mod Ideas
Why isnt that a hot file?! That's like the best quest-fixing mod ever! I'm not sure, but it may have been a hot file in the past. I put off trying it myself until this topic came up again. I'm on a fairly new playthrough (lvl 21) and...so far, so good. The Alik'r finally abandoned the main gate in Whiterun for Rorikstead without adding 'In My Time of Need' to my journal. And all I had to do to prove my disinterest was "just walk away". Woohoo! No more hopping over to the blacksmith station to avoid them while they just stand there...forever. Even better, there is a companion mod called Quest Eraser designed to rid your journal of unwanted entries added before the mod is installed, but I suspect it might work whether you have 'The Choice Is Yours' installed or not. Always wanted something like that to get rid of all the crap cluttering up my journal. Two for the price of one! -

There's a mod called The Choice Is Yours aimed at stopping the triggering of forced quests. The Dark Brotherhood questline is included.
