  1. Hi gang. Sorry to bother but I'm really stumped on what's causing these brand new CTD's. I'll get straight to it. I've been playing this combo of ~225 mods for almost two weeks. The first few days I spent tweaking my ENB and load order and after adjusting the memory footprint to 1024/256, everything has been butter smooth. I had plenty of free time yesterday/today so I dug in for a marathon. I normally rotate about 10 saves (not counting auto's and quicks) with the last one about 12 hours past. I had just finished playing a two hour stretch and was in Caranthir Tower (CT Reborn) when I did a manual save and took a break for a couple of hours. When I re-started the game, I got a CTD about 5 secs after clicking on the last save. Unfortunately, that CTD was the first of dozens and after trying all night...here I am. I use MO, LOOT, and WryeBash. Before and after the crash, all mods were/are clean--not one dirty file (other than the base ESMs) in the bunch. I also run with ASIS in the mix and have the load order ---> bashed patch ---> ASISdependency ---> ASIS.esp and bashed patch ---> ASIS overwrite patch --- > ASIS patcher for my install order. The overall load order hasn't changed in days. I've used both Papyrus Data Transfer and Save Game Cleaner to look for bad scripts. Neither reported any Script Instances to Fix. I've ran various filters and tried to mount those edits, but nada. According to TES5Edit I've not got any busted or missing masters. I can't load any save, even the one from many hours previous. It's not a memory block problem as most crashes result in 150-200/230-240 (With the allocation set to 1024/256) It would seem to me if the CTD was occurring due to script lag that I'd get close to launch at some point. But this crash's timing is happening too early. SKSE log is not showing any missing files or errors...at least none that I could interpret. ---> I 'can' create a new game, which would seem to me to argue against a busted mod file somewhere. Being tired and old I figure I'm missing something somewhere, so I'm asking for help in sorting this mess out. Thanks for taking the time to read this. Adios. UPDATE: It does not appear that I have the excessive string bug (total count = 50k) and Save game editor isn't crashing on startup. I found ReSaver and it too doesn't report any unattached instances.
  2. I'm a bit late to this party, but I'll voice my frustrations, also. After using this for a few days and learning my way around the ropes, I find it really hard to believe that someone, at sometime in the development process of this app, would fail to realize that the thing needs a simple 'save' command.....sheesh. I open it up and everything is moved around and no, clicking on the 'load order' option does not put everything back the way it was. WB is a good tool--a necessity in some instances, but not being able to lock load order (which *was* available for Oblivion) is one serious faux paus.
  3. I know just enough about creating a follower to be dangerous...and a nuisance. :( I made three custom followers using the guide located at http://j-u-i-c-e.hubpages.com/hub/Hot-to-Turn-Your-Skyrim-Character-into-a-Follower#. Two of the three work without a hitch, but one refuses to follow. To be more precise, the "follow me..." dialogue does not appear. I've looked at every variable several times over and the current follower faction is set to -1, etc. Everything, other than the race and skill set, appears to be the same for all three followers, so I'm at a loss to explain why one won't work. Also, and I don't know if it matters, but the one giving me trouble is a High Elf race. I've searched and not found any posts that suggest high elves can't be used for custom followers, but it's the only difference with the other two characters I made. Thanks for any help.
  4. I don't mind supporting this site with a premium account, but all the bad gateway errors, broken files, page not found errors, file not found errors, etc, etc are starting to get bothersome. Maybe time to find a new host for the site?
  5. I think this is a problem with the website database rather than the NMM itself. I'm hoping they get the issues resolved soon as there's a lot of wacky stuff going on, lately. I've had to resort to manual d/l's of files as they get clipped prematurely when using NMM. Also, yesterday the front page of the site showed that new articles had last been updated *43 years* ago. Time flies......
  6. Greetings. I am having more than a little trouble with getting predictable results using the CK to tweak follower settings. Sometimes it works, sometimes not and I'm trying to understand the logic behind the mess. Here's the scoop. I don't like playing with essential/protected followers. The game is too easy already and what fun is it if I have an invincible follower or two whacking everything? So, when I install a follower mod (eg, UFF, SGF, etc) I automatically try to dictate their status (I also use the CK to tweak their attributes and combat styles as I typically play without spell tossers). The frustrating part is that I can accomplish my goal with some of the followers in a mod, but not necessarily all. In one mod I was able to set status in 4 of the 5 characters. When I asked the mod maker they indicated that all of the characters should be open to tweaking either through a mod such as UFO or EFF, the console, or the CK. But I have found that when a character's status won't change, none of these methods will work. I have searched high and low for an explanation as to what might be happening, but have found no answers. So, my overriding question is 'why'? Why will changes made to some followers stick, but not others (even in the same mod with the same author)? Also, please point me in the direction of the best information and tutorials on using the CK. The tutorials I've seen that are linked to the CK website are bare bones, at best. Thanks!
  7. That would explain it...ok, thanks! I'll wait for the update.
  8. Greetings. I've recently started to tinker with the CK, but ran into a problem trying to load certain files. Most file's parent is Skyrim.esm of course, but a few also list "update.esm" as a master. Unfortunately, I can't load those files as I get an error ... MASTERILE: File Update.esm is a higher version than this EXE can load. Then, regardless if I choose "Yes" or "Yes to all", an error box pops up with ... Unable to locate Update.esm. Clicking on "OK" in that last box results in the CK closing. What am I doing wrong? Thanks
  9. I did the same as you used the console command to advance beyond the door. I chose not to side with the vampires, however, and Serana was left outside the door and started following me once I was teleported outside. Even using UFO I can't get her to leave. What a mess....
