  1. In response to post #48325937. Same. Not going to jump through the hoops for "a chance" to win. But, that is my choice. Thanks for the promo offer, THD.
  2. Thanks for all the feedback folks. The March 10th advice is really handy. I'll have no problems waiting a few more months. As for the Losers Edition... About all I know is that they are "I think" the first gen single blower or "reference style" blower. The manufacturer of my PC/Case states this is the best style for my system/case. It's this single blower design that I need, due to the space constraints and air flow in a very tight case. I may have to pay a little extra for a Founder's Edition, but I bought a custom case and knew there would be consequences.
  3. You have a few years on me as well. Turned 48 last Nov. I'd just written the below post on another thread, but it may apply here. Keep in mind all the listed transitions came with their own learning curves. Self taught... its not that tough if your willing to stick your face in a manual or website. When I need to learn about something new with computer hardware, I usually start at www.tomshardware.com I started seriously gaming on the Appl ][c. Kings Quest 1 and Lode Runner were my first addictions. :) Choplifter also comes to mind... as do the arcade classics. But they didn't hold me like the KQ series and Lode Runner did. Though I never replaced any internal components of the Apple][c, I did take it partially apart to lean how it worked. This computer also intruded me to external hardware such as modems and disc drives. I later moved onto the Amiga and owned A2500 w/Video Toaster, A500 and A600 (still in garage somewhere) at various times. Dungeon Master by FTL was my big addiction in my early Amiga days. DM2:Chaos Strikes Back was my favorite. Think of an early style of Legends of Grimrock. Learned to do all my own hardware upgrades. Oooh... and don't get me started on Lemmings!!! I miss that game. I'd buy it again if it were on Steam. I think I have something called "clones", but it doesn't compare. And iirc, Ultima 5/6 and specifically 7 fell in here somewhere. U7 grabbed me too. Then a few years later Commodore went bankrupt. So I sold all my Amiga gear to some company in Hawaii (I lived in Kansas and sold it over FIDONET) I took that money and bought a car and my first PC Clone. Win 3.11 on a first gen Pentium 1. Dragon Lance and some other SSI games come to mind from that time period. Turn based RPGs. Also 3D games were not too far off, like Eye of the Beholder series and other similar block RPGs. I also believe this was the time frame I was introduced to Bethesda through Arena and then later Daggerfall. I never played Redguard or Battlespire (due to bugs and bad reviews), but I pounced hard on Morrowind when it came around years later. I've never looked back since Daggerfall. I knew I was a Bethesda fan then, as much as I hated them. Serious love/hate relationship in those days. lol Since then I've continued to play all the Fallouts (not 1&2) and TES games and they dominate my hard drive and they are all modded. :) As for Fallouts 1 and 2, I want to play them, but as a mod inside the Fallout 3/FNV/F4 engine. Last I checked F1 was under development as a mod for F3. Diablo 2 was an addiction. Really miss the Necromancer Class from that game. I enjoyed Diablo 3, but it never became an addiction. Path of Exile is the first game I started paying attention to how many hours I invest in a game. 872 so far, so I guess it qualifies as having grabbed me. I"m sure I'll go back to the game again some day. Tried ESO and just couldn't get into it. I figure MMOs are not my thing. I do intend to give it another shot in 2017 or 2018 before I uninstall it. And of course, I'm ready and waiting for TES6 and Fallout 5. :babblemodeoff:

  5. I'm in agreement. For the price you really can't go wrong. Besides, you know your going to mod the h*ll out of it anyways. :)
  6. Question for you gurus.... I'm more of a "bang for your buck" guy than someone who wants the latest and greatest (just costs too much). I've a GTX 960 2GB GPU and a few months ago I all but decided to go with a GTX 1070 8GB "Founders" card. I have a custom case with limited space. The Founders edition cards will fit properly according to the manufacturer. My power supply is also rated to handle up to a Titan X. I'm eyeballing these 2 1070 cards at the moment, but I still have some more research to do. https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?item=N82E16814126112 https://www.amazon.com/GeForce-Turbo-Ready-Graphic-TURBO-GTX1070-8G/dp/B01GKGLZJC/ I laid the project down hoping prices would seriously drop over the holidays, but they didn't. So now I'm starting to look back into it again. Fwiw, I mostly play heavily modded Fallout NV/4, Skyrim/SSE and Oblivion. So that 8GB of VRAM will be nice. Any advice or further considerations you have would be much appreciated.
  7. Lmao... So that is what happened. :) I turned off Ad blocker for Nexus yesterday to support them and see if navigation was tolerable. There was no noticeable difference. So I figured my other various blocking plugins was also blocking ads on Nexus. I came here to search for specific sites to white-list in the other plug-ins. A couple years ago I donated $20 to Nexus and forgot about the no ads for life bonus.
  8. My #1 advice is watch Gopher's Begginers Guide to Modding Skyrim series of videos on Youtube. He does dome incredibly well done videos for beginners and intermediate Skyrim modders. You can't loose watching them. http://www.youtube.com/user/GophersVids?feature=watch
  9. Google Search "how to play" caravan "new vegas" and sift through the pages. Video tutorial came up first.
  10. Bump. Looking for the same info. I'm wanting to have Nexus Mod Manager manage my NMC texture pack. I've d/l and extracted NMC onto my desktop (Data Folder is created) and now tryint to figure out how to make Nexus Mod Manager add mod from file to handle the install. I'm going to try to repack the created Data Folder and see if NMM will install the repacked file. I obviously want to easily turn NMC on/off (activate/deactivate) incase I ever decide to stop using it, switch to a larger/smaller version or mix/match with other texture packs, such as POLO. Any help would be appreciated. Looking through the NMC install instructions (again) and Nexus Mod Manager instructions....
