  1. I'd like a mod that allowed you to get Oghren much earlier in the campaign. Now I know you can go to Orzamar first and get him but the game is set up to do Orzamar last and timewise it doesn't make sense to go spend weeks there when the arl is sick and the tower is overrun (which they are by the time you get to Lothering). Not to mention is it more fun to be at a higher level in the deep roads. Lorewise, it would make sense. According to the guard, Oghren should have been executed for killing that one guy but wasn't. However, he was forbidden from carrying a weapon or getting into any more fights and if he did, he would be exiled. So easy to imagine that he violated that and was in fact exiled (in fact hard to see how he didn't!) You could find him in the tavern on Lake Calenhad and 'hire' him from there. Then when you go back to Orzamar, he can't go in because he was exiled but could then join the party when you go into the deep roads after Branka. Most of the dialogue and rest of the game would play out the same and wouldn't need any alteration. Just the scripting to get him to Lake Calenhad and something to get him out of orzamar (stop him talking to the guard and being in the tavern).
  2. I need some help in writing a script to trigger a cutscene. I have two sacrifice scenes finished for after the 'killing the archdemon' cutscene if Alistair or the Warden sacrifice themselves and are 'in love or still in love'. I'd like to expand the scenes to include if the Warden is in a romance with Leli and Zev and release it as a stand-alone mod. But I don't know the first thing about scripting and have no computer programming experience. So while I think I could probably, eventually figure it out, I'd prefer to have someone help me who has some knowledge about such things. Pics are here if anyone is interested: http://www.nexusmods.com/dragonage/images/47664/? If someone would be willing to help me with this I'd greatly appreciate it.
  3. I guess you didn't actually read what I wrote, I said that I can un-enable the 'Advanced' mods and the board will show up regardless of whether IA is installed or not. I wouldn't I uninstall IA during a playthrough but since it has happened both with IA and without, it probably wouldn't help anyway. I do think that it is an over taxing issue with the event manager however, it isn't worth going through my override to find if removing one or more mods would let the board show up (it is a big override, and I have several dazips that are probably contributing). I was just wondering if there was a quick easy way to activate the quest (like with the random encounters) if not, then I won't do it.
  4. Except that I have disabled the 'Advanced' mods and the board shows up even with IA installed. So it isn't IA, at least not by itself. I would think it is like Denerim in that it could be the cumulative effect of all the mods I have. Regardless, my problem is that it is not worth disabling those mods and then enabling and having to re-do them to get the quest. So I wanted to see if there is an easy way to get the quest, if not, that's fine, but thought I'd ask.
  5. I have no doubt it does. I use all the 'Advanced' mods, IA and tons of others that I can't play the game without. But I don't want to uninstall/remove them to get these couple quests back. I don't use EDS, but for Advanced Tactics I'd have to redo the tactics and since I have about 50 per character, that's a chore, even disabling Advanced Quickbar means I'd have to re-set up the quickbar afterwards. For the most part everything else works it is just this one thing. So I was hoping that there was a quick and easy way to trigger those quests, if not, well, not worth the hassle. Thanks for the info!
  6. I know that this is at least theorically possible since they do this in the final battle, have a party in which the Warden is not a member but I'd like to be able to do that in a few other areas of the game. There are certain times when certain party configurations are better than others, for example fighting the dragon on top of the mountain. That works best with warriors and mages, rogues are not a lot of use or not as much use but if you Warden is a rogue there is no way around it. I know the warden is needed for dialogue in many cases but if there isn't any, such as the caravan or refugee quests, the qunari camp, Loghain's Push, the battlefield in 'Brothers and Sons', so many of the smaller quests and especially in the final battle. In the Final Battle, it really would make more sense to have the main group go to Fort Drakon while the rest take care of the Generals in the Alienage and market and again different party configurations for each would be helpful and more fun.
  7. I would think there would be a way to do this through a console command, like with the random encounters, but I can't find it. The Chanter's Board in Redcliffe never shows up post attack. I think that it has to do with a conflict with mods that I have. Not much of an issue but there are a couple quests on that board that are not elsewhere. If anyone knows how to do this or can point me in the right direction, it would be appreciated.
  8. I would really appreciated it if someone could elimination the 'death' animation when a ranger dismisses a pet. Not only is it morbid but unnecessary and makes me not want to use it. If they could run off (you know back to where they came from) or even just fade away/disappear; that would be awesome. Thanks!
  9. Been using the same body model set up, from natural bodies, for forever and this is first time had anything like this. When a human female is naked their body is invisible. I know why that happens if wearing armor but have no idea what to do or where to start looking for invisible naked people. I'm sure it is a conflicting file but not sure where to look since some models use the same files. Everyone else is fine and naked. Thought I'd ask before go deleting stuff to see if anyone had any information. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
  10. I want to get the companions out of the warden's room in the arl's estate. I looked at the area file but there is nothing about the companions. I need this for two reasons and the answers may be different for each: One, I want to make a cutscene in that room and don't want the companions in the cutscene. Two, I really don't want them in that room at all and would prefer to move them somewhere else in the estate. If anyone can help on either issue, it would be appreciated. Also I don't know a thing about scripting. So any answer involving that will need very simple instructions. Thanks!
  11. Okay, I know I'm probably forgetting something stupid and easy but I made a cutscene to replace a vanilla one. Looks great in toolset but in game the actors are there, camera etc in position but they don't perform the animations. They just stand there. If anyone has any idea what I'm doing wrong, I'd appreciate someone letting me know. Thanks!
  12. There maybe a mod out there for this, I'm surprised there isn't actually, but I can't it. When you turn off a summons for a ranger, the summoned creatures 'dies' which is unnecessary and somewhat morbid and doesn't make any sense. If there was a way to change that so that the creature just disappears or runs off, that'd be great. Thanks!
  13. Awesome! Thanks! I had no idea where to even start, so a shove in the right direction really helps. Thanks a lot, I will look into it.
  14. I may not need a mod to do what i want, so if someone can help me, it would be much appreciated. I have killed the archdemon at least a dozen times between xbox and pc, so finding the first part of the game where you have 5 talents somewhat boring at this point. i really want a full set of talents to play with. And lore wise makes no sense that Alistair a fully trained templar doesnt get smite till level 15 or over halfway through the game or Wynne aura, etc. Im not looking for a god mode so i can just run over enimies, i have the mod that removes level caps for enemies and mods so that they use all available talents, plus rescale, etc. Now, i can easily add experience to main character to raise the level, but the problem i foresee is that by the end of the game ill be at level 50, instead of level 30. So what i want is to get out of Ostagar at level 12-15 but then gain new levels at a slower pace so that by the end of the game Im still at level 30. I have seen a mod that keeps a charcter at level 1 and one that slowes DAAs level progress to the same as DAO, so i would think something like what i want is possible but i dont know enough about it to know what to do. I am fairly familar with the toolset, changed utc and uti files, used savegame editor and erf extractor and gff, etc So if someone has any idea I would really appreciate any information or help. Thank you!
  15. Idea being that you have two wardens, do each origin, but you can only have one active at a time and can switch between them at camp. Have two different classes for different quests with different skills not available for vanilla companions. Can romance two different characters, use different origins for different quests.
  16. Don't know where or who to even ask so putting it here. The author of Improved Atmosphere released a beta version in October and some bug fixes in Dec and has been MIA since then. I've been helping out and answering the questions I can but three quesitons come up consistently and I'd like to be able or for someone to put a sticky post in the hope that it will help. This is all I want it to say: "If using version 2.0 beta please read this first before posting question: 1. There is a link to bug fixes for the mod on the description page. This will fix Duncan's missing sword and crashing in the mage tower and Denerim plus other issues. Please install before entering the Mage Tower or Denerim for the first time for the fixes to take effect. 2. The Awakening folder is empty. It was not included in the release becasue the author said it wasn't done. 3. Certain icons will be blank or greyed out. You can use the Icon Project (here on Nexus) to fix this." That's it. If someone could do that, I would really appreciate it. Thanks for your time and attention.
  17. Since I get better and/or more tech help here than anywhere, thought I'd ask. My computer got a virus, had to reinstall Windows XP, reinstalled Dragon Age (I had bought a downloadable copy from Gamstop last year). Finally got it installed and I get said error when I click on the desktop shortcut. I've looked up different solutions, from getting new fmod_event.dll, which didn't work to moving a copy to c:windows\system and system 32 folders but still getting the error. If anyone has any ideas or anything, please I'd very much appreciate it. Thanks in advance.
  18. I'd like to not only be able to have a couple drinks, but also play cards (dying to figure out how to play Wicked Grace) or that chess type game that is everywhere. Also sparring with other party members (maybe even for some extra xp points?) I'd like to be able to see more of Leli sining or like you said, someone playing that lute that must be there for some reason.
  19. Oh, these are always fun and very interesting!!! My favorite warden and the one I play just about exclusively now is my female human noble rogue. She is fierce, sensible, cunning, with a sharp tongue and a good heart. She was raised to rule and wants to do something important with her life. She understands the greater good but also there are lines you can't cross. Her and Alistair hit it off immediatly. He remindere her so much of her brother and his brand of friendly teasing and sense of humor would have fit right in with her entire family. She understands completely what he is going through with Duncan for she feels the same about her parents. They become great friends and they fight as a team, with him a tank and her a dexterity/cunning based rogue, they develop complimentary skills and soon they are a force fighting together. She encourages him to stand up for himself and he supports her. They become closer and closer as the months go by until one day he happens to mention in passing that he thinks she is beautiful and she realizes that she doesn't mind hearing that from him and everything changes. It is a whirlwind romance that ends with his coronation and their wedding. The great friendship that slowly develops into romance is my favorite story. And for her the dark ritual is a no-brainer, she loves him and whatever it takes to keep them together and alive is worth it. My male human noble warrior sees Alistair like a little brother. In that he really would have fit right into the Cousland household and he had alwasy been the younger. By the end of it all, he really does think of him as family. And if given the option, would have put up the money for Alistair to have a night at the Pearl. (that seriously should be an option!)
  20. One reason is for dramtic effect, granted but really it stays true to her character. Her plan is to disappear, hide from everyone (including Flemeth) but from anyone who might want to use or influence the child. This child is too important to her to risk. Could she alter the plan to stay with the warden or even ask him to come with her? Sure. But she wouldn't, because she doesn't believe in those feelings. She believes that love is an illusion, a weakness. By the end of the game (DAO) she has changed (if loved by and loves the warden) but she doesn't trust those feelings enough to change her plan. No doubt she believes that it will be difficult for a while but the feelings will fade and disappear and both her and warden will go on. Then two years later she risks discovery to try and make contact with the warden, to see perhaps if he still cares and if so she is wiling to change the plan slightly (as long as the child is safe) to allow him to come based on her now revised attitude about love. So while dramatic effect and selling DLC's is important, the change of heart she has I think is consistent with her character and personality.
  21. Since many bugs or problems and fixes are discussed in the comments it might help someone looking for an answer to a question to be able to search the comments section to find if their particular issue has already come up. Instead of having to manually flip through pages of unrelated comments. It may save modders having to answer the same questions over and over. Just a thought.
  22. Me personally: not including dialogue or bug fixes Improved Atmosphere: I love it, makes the game seem like a real world as opposed to a game IRS - A: improves that whole story Advanced Tactics: really lets you customize and not have to micro manage your character Combat Tweaks: like rediscovering combat, made many talents actually useful Smarter Enemies: increases enemy AI Ser Gilmore NPC and Karma's Companions: both incredibly well done, can't imagine the game without the new compantions now The Winter Forge: took a bit to get the hang of but so worth it, lets you customize everything, just great Grey Wardens of Ferelden: gives all GW, DA2 legacy style armor Natural bodies: obviously Underworld armor and the beautiful new retextures Elvehan Weapons Armor of the Black Fox I have many many more but those are my essentials.
