  1. Holy cow, that actually worked. Yes, after reading Jonas66's post, I noticed that my meshes had duplicate NiStrip names of the Bip L Forearm and Bip R Hand (both of which were stuck on my character's body) so I renamed them to Shoes and Necklace respectively, and it worked! I could see my pip-boy again. Thanks a lot for the help! Now I learned my lesson about forgetting to rename duplicate NiStrips....
  2. Thanks for the help, but I fiddled around and figured it out on my own. Not only that, but I managed to achieve what I wanted. I always feel so accomplished when I've figured something out on my own. I'm still a week-old GECK noobie. However, I still have a problem with the water; I managed to get it to the proper height in GECK but not in the game itself. http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/jj27/kungfubellydancer/ScreenShot111.jpg http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/jj27/kungfubellydancer/ScreenShot116.jpg
  3. To put it short, I made a custom world space that works about right save for one problem: the daylight hours are very strange! The daylight appears to be a very dark, murky brown color, and makes it hard to see. Then, around 1 PM, it transitions to a pitch black. It is absolutely dark except for the added light markers, which work like normal. How do I fix my day/night settings and lighting? Also, how can I get water into my map? I have both the LOD and Land data water set to -2200, but its not showing up.
  4. I suppose it comes to the advantage of others that I am a "magnet" for difficulties; I post my problems mainly with the intention of having a thread out there for others to find should they have the same problems. Anyway, I'm going to try to uninstall all the Readius files and see what happens. This error only started happening after I installed Readius last night, and persists even when Readius isn't activated in my plugin list. Is the reset.kf by any chance in the Fallout BSA? If not I'll search around for it.
  5. I'll do this but I doubt it will be ready today...it's harder than I thought.
  6. No, sadly, it didn't. I holstered/reholstered, in 1st and 3rd person, but it didn't make a difference. http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/jj27/kungfubellydancer/ScreenShot104.jpg
  7. Wow, that is very bizarre indeed. I wish I knew how to help you with this. There are people on this forum more useful than me, but I just wanted to say that I've never seen that error before. It could be that didn't assign the texture properly in UV editing, assuming you made changes to any of the vertices of the mask short of moving them around. I've had an error slightly similar but far less severe, and that had been my problem. Does this happen to all your clothing? What export settings are you using?
  8. My character's left arm is stuck in an extended position. None of the animations work properly, whether it's running or crouching, because her arm is permanently extended. Pulling the pip-boy menu up, it only comes so far into the screen because the arm is straight out rather than bent at the elbow. I think this has something to do with my belly dance mod but the problem only started yesterday, when I installed Readius. Deactivating either mods work. Could it be an armature problem? I tried re-assigning the default skeleton.nif to one of my outfits, but it didn't work. Could someone kindly download the mod and tell me if the problem is present in it? The version available is a much older version that the one I'm working on, obviously, but if it's my mod that's causing this problem, I can't upload a faulty mod, can I? Here it is. 9. I'm trying to make a new world space for a mod, but I need a few things to be done that I don't really know how to do. 1. It needs to be a permanent night. There is no sunrise, sunset, or day hours. 2. Because of the above rule, the sky will be full of stars and galaxies. 3. I need there to be some water for my world, but I can't figure out how to set it. It is marked at -2300 but when I test the level in game, there is nothing. 4. I need to make a custom playlist for this map, or otherwise a radio station that only plays in this world space. If you can help me, I'd much appreciate it!
  10. There are quite a few ads and pop-ups I get from perusing this site. It's very, very annoying, particularly the ones that require you to click Cancel or Okay before closing the window. Embarrassing for a site that looks as clean and organized as it is.
  11. Baduk's going by Japan time, I think, lol. As for Google, I did find enough tutorials to get me as far as I've gone....but the thing is, the UV map I generated has a little strange and doing the texture directly within Blender is painstakingly difficult (at least for that particular mesh; no matter how I seam it, it comes out strange), that's why I exported the raw UV to do outside of Blender in Gimp/Nifskope. I'll play around a bit and see what I can do.
  12. Is there a guide on how to do that? When I exported this from blender, for some reason it didn't come with any shader information. That shader tab was added later in nifskope.
  13. I made this mesh (antique pitcher) in blender to be used as a miscellaneous item for Fallout New Vegas, and gave it collision data, but...now what? How do I give it texture data? I had to add the shader property in nifskope, but I can't do anything past that point. I have the texture ready to go, but no way to attach it to the mesh. What there a step I forgot to do somewhere? http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/jj27/kungfubellydancer/aaasda.png What I did was I exported the uv map from blender into a .tga file rather than applying the texture directly in Blender, because I have more control over it in Gimp.
  14. I checked around and compared all the material properties to other working meshes, and they all seemed the same. There was nothing wrong with the normal map. I even made a new one and it still had the same problem. I managed to fix it, however, by simply importing into Blender and re-exporting, no changes made. After I re-assigned all the same textures and normal maps, it worked just fine in-game. Once again, though, thanks for your help; you are life saver.
  15. All the unwanted vertices are gone. What's happening in the picture is that the skirt's lacy top layer, is going through the dress as the lady runs. I can't just delete the top later. I'll take Baduk's advice and see what I can do about this.
  16. Outside looking in the area, the walls are going to be transparent. That's because there is no texture on the other side; there doesn't need to be if the player is going to be inside the rooms. And, unless you get crafty with your camera, you'll be a "multidimensional being" looking in from above, rather than at eye level. I used to use the Unreal editor for the old games; they had a first-person mode, but Bethesda's editors don't offer that.
  17. I made a custom belly dance dress using the Type 3 body, and spent hours just doing the texture. It looks fine in Nifskope and in the GECK (although the latter doesn't show the transparency properly) but then I played it in-game, and look what happens! http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/jj27/kungfubellydancer/ataws.png The skirt portion appears super posterized and even glows, for whatever reason, although there isn't even a glow-map on there. Earlier, my transparency masks weren't working until I realized there was no alpha node on it in nifskope. So I copied and pasted one from one of my other meshes. But I think I was playing around and changed some settings before I figured out there was supposed to be an alpha node, and I might have put in some weird numbers in the material node settings, although I'm sure I put them all back to default.... Here's how it looks in Nifskope: http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/jj27/kungfubellydancer/aasafa.png So, any idea on what might be going on here?
  18. is it possible to fix this kind of clipping that naturally occurs with large dresses in games? Or must I either tolerate the clipping or downsize the dress? http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/jj27/kungfubellydancer/ScreenShot83.jpg (For the record, the textures shown are only testing textures.)
  19. Do you mean the texture file? It wouldn't be hard to acquire....I could make one available for you if you like, assuming you have the software to edit it.
  20. Thanks guys for you help, but, believe it or not, THIS TIME I actually figured it out on my own, shortly after posting the thread. I feel accomplished!
  21. I made this outfit, and putting it the game I see that the skin does not change to fit my character's skin tone. Did I miss a shader or something? I like the white gloves, lol, but those her actual hands....:/ http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/jj27/kungfubellydancer/ScreenShot76.jpg
  22. Yes, me again :/ I always seem to have all these problems. I'll use your advice on this one just as soon as I figure out what's wrong with one of my other meshes. lol.
  23. I couldn't help but notice the popularity of all the prostitution mods....but, what about our characters that are looking to have a fulfilling relationship with just one person? I hate walking up to a respectable NPC and there's an option to ask him/her for sex. Come on people, where is the satisfaction in that? With all that scripting talent, couldn't a mod be made in which one could pursue a single person, and then, AFTER he/she has accepted my characters' pursuits, begin a sexual relationship, like REAL life?
  24. I combined two individually functioning meshes in nifskope, a coat and a dress, but received errors doing so, such as "infinite recursive link construct <insert number here>" and "failed to map link <insert part here>". I removed the extra SceneRoot node I found on the coat, copied and pasted all its nodes under the original node, and then I was able to copy the coat over to the dress node. I saved and tried to open it in Blender so that I could clean it up and remove clipping parts, but I got this error: http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/jj27/kungfubellydancer/aasssa.png So I tried to upload it to the GECK, which caused an instant CTD. What's going on here? I tried to search for unweighted vertices, but there aren't any. They both have only one armature. Both work just fine in the game/GECK on their own. http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/jj27/kungfubellydancer/aasssa-1.png
