Yes, discovered them during my border exploration. And I think you are right. This huge gate has written "DLC" all over it ;) Cheers Euclid
-
The update was fast, silent and without flaws for me, i.e. the game runs fine as before. Cheers Euclid
-
I do agree with "no fast travel" but the rest is debatable (and ofc a matter of personal preferences) . Horses are cool but if it comes to a spontaneous combat situation they die too quick. Equipment like ring and necklace are a must for me as mage only character. Same with heavy armor; wearing no armor melee mobs tend to 1-s me and without my enchanted gear I'm running OOM fast. What I really would like to see (i know we have to wait for the CK) is the ability to make a camp, like a fireplace and maybe even a tend with a bed. Also a good companion (script, appearance, dialogue including a romance option etc. :P ) would be awesome. Missing this parts as in Morrowind and Oblivion. Cheers Euclid

Spent the last hour to clear some of my "broken" quests. Some remains for now: No Stone Unturned Become a full Member of the Thieves Guild (I am their boss already) Miscellaneous Speak to the Jarl of Riften (he has nothing to say to me) Report Leifnarr's death to his family (no dialogue) Return to Esben (happens if you do not kill Paranaxx) Cheers Euclid

Indeed, my journal is full of these "broken" quest. No way to complete them other than using console. The difficulty here is to fine the quest id and the stage you have to set it. Cheers Euclid

That's odd. My rig specs are: Gigabyte P67A-UD5-B3 AMD Radeon HD 6900 2GB Intel Core i5 2400 @ 3100MHz 16 GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3 @ 2000MHz and the game runs at max settings just fine. Did you check for background processess, updater, AV routines, maybe also some driver issues? How much RAM you got and did you check it? Could be a voltage or more likely a heating problem? Cheers Euclid

Yup, sounds familar. However, in contrast to your encounter the glowing spheres seem to be friendly, "asking" for help, They even provided hints as to where and how to proceed. Upon arrival at, what appeared to be, the main hall, all these lights gathered around a sarcophagus. As it was to be expected a bad dude appeared from there and after I've killed him the spheres disappeared. Cheers Euclid

I'd check the Event Viewer first. Might give you some hint what went wrong. Cheers Euclid

Yes, that was one of the very nice encounters and a very emotional. But wait, are you saying that Habd's Remains can be placed somewhere? I'm carrying these ever since. Cheers Euclid

Lost Companion - Look's like you have someone already (Possible Sp

Did you, by any chance, met a dog and talked to him? If so, he will follow you, slowly. Cheers Euclid -
As far as I know: no, you can't. I've used to stash all loot (with enchs on) and every now and then grab it all and fast-travel to the next home with arcan enchanter to check it all. But I'm with you: there should be a mod for that as well as for other personal details liek stats. Cheers Euclid

I just found out something really cool when mining
Euclid replied to thelasthallow's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Lol - what a find - kudos Cheers Euclid -
Same here: I did not mind either, the Stormcloaks nor the Imperials although I did not like the Thalmors. Always thought that this would be one reason not to side with the Imperials but then I was kind of forced to do so. How? Well, I went to explore the land and came across a fort. No shut gates or so, no red dots. So I thought I check it out. Ran around not reallizing (or at least too late) that someone was shouting warings "you're not suppose to be here"... So I was trying to find the exit of this yard but it was dark and ....well, I was not fast enough. Suddenly red dots everywhere. Turned out it was a Stormcloak camp. Happens a couple more times - similar situation. Very unpleasant folks, not worth to side with. Cheers Euclid

Yeah, I'm taking a break, too. After 178 hrs more or less straight, all missions done, fane of several towns, boss of the companions and the thieves, found all shouts and all words, erradiacted the Dark Brotherhood, won the war on Imperial side, hit level 61 and all that's left are repetative quest which are too easy. But....no, I'm not bored, just exhausted  and let's face it: it's just a first game check to see what it's all about and what potetial there is. Was with Morrowind and Oblivion like that. Both games gained their heights due to the awesome jobs of the modding community. Any it will be the same with Skyrim. Cheers Euclid

Thanks for the feedback Cipscis. As you can see from my post I've used the console command help "Mannequin" 4 to reveal the formID. Actually this command returns also the type activator and 3 IDs but only the last, that is 000D750D, executes player.placeatme D750D without error message "unknown ID, script not saved" (or something like that). However, although there was no error message, it did not spawn the mannequin. I've check with wireframe to make sure the mannequin did not end up behind a wall. I've tested some more using the help command and noticed that player.placeatme works fine with npcs and furniture but not with activators. All the crafting "activators", like arcane enchanter, alchemy lab, workbench etc., are, in fact, furnitures and hence no problem to spawn them. Hope that clarifies the situation. Cheers Euclid Edit: It seems the situation is more complicated as Jeanlou posted here. Mannequins have several parts only one of which is the activator, another classed as npc.E.

Morrowind was my very first Tes game and I've enjoyed it immensely. Even retro-played it several times using many of the nice mods (remember Quarl's mods?) and improvements of very skilled people here and elsewhere. Oblivion was nice although I did miss some features like levitate, throwing weapons (dwemer darts yayy) and the "open" world (no closed cities). Now for Skyrim, after 176 hours of gameplay, I feel a little bored. Never had that feeling in any other the other Tes games. Even after many months of playing Morrowind I've still found unexplored dungeons and locations. But maybe it's because of the "first-time" experience and/or the DLCs. Cheers Euclid

Hmm......help "Mannequin" 4 reveals base id D750D. However, the command player.placeatme D750D 1 does execute without error message but nothing happens. Seems that player.placeatme works only with npcs? Cheers Euclid Edit: After some testing it seems that player.placeatme does not work for activators. Mannequins and Weapon Plaques are activators whilst Arcane Enchanter etc. are furnitures. If anyone knows how to spawn activators please let me know. E.

This would be very useful and certainly a mod I'd run. But as Zeitdruck said, we have to wait for the release of the creation kit. Cheers Euclid

Whats the point of master level destruction spells?
Euclid replied to someonenoone11's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
I tend to agree. The expert spells incinerate, icy spear and thunderbolt are the best to use depending on the mob you face. Incinerate has some aoe whilst the other two are more precise and seem to have a farther reach. The master spell fire storm I'm using occasionally when too many mobs are close. But since the casting is rather long and can be interrupted I use mass paralysis before. Lightning storm suffers the same long casting but if it's running you can cast it continuously (until your mana is depleted, that is) and it deals a lot of damage. Cheers Euclid -
Who sells Adept and higher alteration spells?
Euclid replied to Beriallord's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Maybe this helps. Cheers Euclid -
This statement is completely false. Placed objects on Oblivion remained where they were placed, and only if you packed a bookshelf to tightly it squeezed out a few books at best. Well, I do remember to had severe problems to place items and if placed successfully, to make them stay where they are. Not only books! Fortunately someone came up with a bookshelf mod. The first part of your statment is correct, the last is false and a tad offensive. I admit it is a while ago I've played Morrowind and maybe I mix it up with Oblivion but I do remember to have opened my inventory and then grab an item, like a sword, to place it somewhere - many times, in fact. Cheers Euclid

Put a vase or something behind a bench (the one in the reception area of the archmage room works fine) and then use telekinesis (drag) until your mana is depleted. Wait until full mana and repeat. Takes about 1 hours to get to lvl 100 in Alteration. Spam muffle all the time. No need to walk around. One hour and you hit 100 illusion. Ooops, should that go to the spoiler section? meaculpa. Cheers Euclid

Pure mage is rather tricky to play at low level because, as you've mentioned, your spells do little damage and drain your mana fast. As it has been recommended already use flames or sparks, dual on tougher opponents, while moving backwards. Join the mage circle as soon as possible and improve your skills. Complete the quest series to be come archmage is another option because the archmage robe has very useful stats. Later on, once you've reach master level, there is a better robe. At medium level playing a destruction mage is real fun. You will one-shot almost everything. However, once you reach master level and/or using master/expert spells the mana regen becomes a problem again. Level up enchanting by disenchanting items or replenish staffs with lower soul gems. Also enchating any item with lower sould gems works fine. Goal is to enchant gloves, ring and necklace to provide lower spell costs and increased mana regen. You can boost the effectiveness of your enchants further by using enchanter potions (there are a few that last 60 secs). Playing a destruction mage at higher level becomes increasingly difficult because the damage of your spells does not increase with your level. If a melee mob gets too close he may one-shot you. Switch to heavy armor (at least gloves & boots). During some quest you will be able to loot Daedric boots & gloves. Level up smithing to improve their armor rating. During tough fights use shouts to your advantage. Hope that helps. Cheers Euclid

Only minor stuff: 1# Dialogue selection: often you click one but the one above or below becomes active. 2# Storing alchemy ingrediences: when there are more then 5 to store it requires confirmation; if the next is below that limit and you are too fast then you eat it instead. 3# Quests/quest items: either won't update (for example inform "npc" that..... but no dialogue option) or items filling up your inventory. 4# Ugly NPCs: well, as usual a job for our modder artists ;) 5# Companion scripts: see 4# Cheers Euclid
