  1. Thanks, but I see what the problem is. I was using Blossoms body, and it seems that the shoulders are narrowed when she doesn't have anything on, but when I use some armor I had ported from F3 to NV, it appears that the shoulders are wider again when she has it on. Any idea how I could fix this? Or is this something that has to be done with the armor meshes themselves?
  2. Tried using a narrow shoulder mod for Fallout 3 in NV, but it didn't work. I haven't been able to find one on the site either - did anyone make it?
  3. Hey Darke, Thanks, I think that one better fits what I want. Respeccing whenever I want is nice, but not something I absolutely need, and my issue was really only with the initial abilities companions were given. Now I can make Oghren the tank and Alistair a dw warrior, and finally focus Morrigan into a companion worth taking around.
  4. Perfect. Thank you. I was looking up "abilities" and "companions" and didn't see anything. lol.
  5. Was just wondering if there is a mod that resets all of your companions skills and abilities to 0 when you get them, so their points can be distributed however you would like to build them.
  6. There's a perk in the game normally that lets you run 10% faster, but only works when you're wearing light armor and you'll need a relatively high survival skill. Just FYI.
  7. Ooookay, I think you maybe have an entirely different outlook on that than I do. Is there really something wrong with that? And I meant the casino's anyway. Why go to Vegas and not gamble? That's totally defeating the point of what Vegas is about, even in the real world. Winning is nice, but that really isn't the point either. I didn't miss anything... He sounds just like a businessman. Nothing wrong with that at all. I think you're taking this a liiiitle to seriously, so I'm going to go now...
  8. Can you equip a different weapon on a companion? I think I tried, but she only ever used her crappy shotgun.
  9. On my level 30 character, and having explored maybe 80-85% of the locations, I only ever found 2 or 3 nukes. I didn't even use them either. I loaded a save and went through and killed everyone in Caesars camp, including Caesar, and I used them there, but I didn't have much need for them elsewhere after I reloaded. So I guess what I'm trying to say is that they are definitely not as common as they were in Fallout 3.
  10. that was my favorite snow-globe too I don't trust you either. (J/K) (Joking aside, I have already explained in a previous post why I don't trust Mr. House, his selection of a favorite snow-globe just reinforces my conviction that he is unfit for the role of the 'Savior of Humanity'). Bah, he just wants a New Vegas free of Legion and NCR control, and ultimately just wants to make money for whatever he does (R&D?). I'm pretty sure he has no intention of being the "savior of humanity", considering he lives in a bubble and can't leave. Do you seriously think any of the other families would do his job better with minimal loss of life? People are downright scared of House and his robots, and that's a good thing in a world without law and order. All you really have to do is look at how the other Families run to see the problem (the Omertas, for example) - without intervention, they are just as cut-throat as you think House is, and many of the people surrounding Vegas are not exactly friendly or mean well with their intentions either. House' army of Robots is about the best deterrent a post-apocalyptic society could have. And further - he rules Vegas, and I don't get the air of an "oppressed" people - they all seem to be having a jolly good time to me. I still see drunk NCR troops and people frequenting the casinos, and they're all making money, which is pretty much the entire point of what House wants in the end. I also don't think I've heard any of them talking about how oppressive and evil House is either. They were actually surprised someone was let in to the 38, which only proves that House is a recluse that rules from afar.
  11. Plus he did have Victor rescue you. He could very well just have left you to rot in that grave. You know there is the parable of a little bird flying south. Let me tell you another version of that story: There was this little bird who chose to pick grains from a heap of dung near a browsing cow. The bird was happily feeding when the cow decided to relieve its bowels, and the bird was buried under a fresh pile of dung. It began to fidget and chirp in an attempt to free itself when a cat that was wandering about heard the desperate chirping, dragged out the bird, cleaned it up carefully with its paws and then swallowed it in one gulp. The morals of this story: 1. those who take a dump on you may not necessarily bear a personal grudge against you. 2. if you were dumped on, shut up, climb out and clean yourself up silently. 3 if somebody else pulls you out and cleans you up, it does not mean that they are your friend. In the Courier's case, Victor may have been helping him or her, but for me it is evident that the only motive behind Victor's actions was to ensure that the Platinum Chip would get to Mr. House in one way or another: either because you would have your revenge and pry it from the dead hands of whoever shot you, or because you would draw out the culprit as it was likely that the guy who popped a cap into your pretty skull would want to finish what he started (leave no witness behind). In short, House used the Courier as a bait. As to killing Mr. House or siding with him... I'm not too fond of megalomaniacs who want to impose their own world order on everyone, and remove any people who dare to disagree with them. These 'I know better what is good for you' type of men caused enough trouble throughout history. Your character doesn't have a history before this, or it's not told at least. You could very well assume that the person you're playing was a reliable courier and always got the job done, among other things. Not to mention that you learn in Primm that you were picked specifically for the task as the previous courier dropped out. You could also assume that House knew you would be a valuable replacement to Benny with regards to your previous, and unknown, history. I believe House said he did not see Benny's betrayal coming, as he was molding him to be his successor. House needed a new person, and you're pretty much it. You have no history, no affiliation, and nothing to lose - that's the perfect person to groom. Yet I still ended up betraying him, if only because I'd rather reign in Hell. Plus what guarantee do you have that House won't kill you off once he's got his upgraded army and made Vegas independent? He can always get a new person to sell that protege story to when he's no longer so pressed for time. What guarantee do you have that he will kill you? I guess we can assume whatever since we'll never know, but you're fumbling around with that possibility when it could easily go the other way just as well.

  13. Well, first thing I noticed people saying - House ain't a robot. He's a human being kept alive by life support. In my game, I didn't see anything wrong with the White Hand society, though they were definitely creepy like Benny told Yes Man. The Tops guys, other than Benny, seemed alright to me. The Omerta's have troubles that can be solved, so they have the potential to be alright, but are initially bad to keep around. The Kings were decent people, it's just a few members that are screwing it up for them, like someone else said. Followers of the Apocalypse are a good people as well. Outside the Strip, the Brotherhood can go either way depending on which Elder is in place. NCR and Legion are mirror images of each other, but the NCR ain't so squeaky clean itself - they are just as interested in the job getting done in any way possible, just more under the radar. The Boomers mostly just want to keep to themselves - they are good people though. The Khans seemed fairly level headed to me, despite being at war with NCR initially. They are definitely not near as bad as they were in Fallout 1. Their alliance with Caesar is mostly out of convenience and because of, initially, a common enemy (who attacked who first I'm unaware of, but it seems to me that both the NCR and Khans are at fault because of differing beliefs). They can be convinced otherwise, and that's actually a fair bit easier than it first seems. Sure, they sell drugs, but they can be convinced to sell helpful chems as well. I guess your opinion of them really depends on how skewed your idea of selling drugs actually is.
  14. I finished this the other night. I was working for House initially and wanted to go through the quests with him, but I ran into a bug where I did the Boomer quest for the NCR and it bugged the quest line for House who would have had me do the same thing, and when I got to that point, he would no longer talk to me, like the scripting had been screwed up. I couldn't figure out how to fix this either and I was kind of upset, so I just went through the rest of the game quickly with Yes Man. Except for the part where it bugged, I liked my ending. I got to choose who lived or died, and for the most part I let everyone live. I did the Dam for myself with the robots and had both the Legion and the NCR retreat from the region without a fight (I convinced both the Legion and NCR general's to go away or face the consequences). In the end, I came out on top and everyone did alright by me. This next playthrough I'll probably do it the way I initially wanted to do it; with House. After that, I'll probably go with the Legion. As much as I like the people in NCR, their political crap higher up the chain rubbed me the wrong way - I guess I'm an anarchist at heart (or just plain evil). I felt kind of bad killing House, too. Sure, he did get me into it from the beginning, except he had no way of knowing Benny would do what he did, so you can't blame House for getting shot. He also seemed fairly reasonable to me, a bit closed-minded for sure, but I would definitely say he was neutral towards most affairs rather than good or evil. And it is *his* city, after all. Except for the ghoul cowgirl and maybe a few others, he had been there longer than anyone and brought the place to life. I'm all for doing things his way - he keeps the place safe and secure, and lets trade flourish. As far as I'm concerned, everyone else are the welcome/unwelcome guests (Legion, NCR, Khans, Kings, Families, etc).
  15. You also need to recheck read only after doing this. So, uncheck read only, make your adjustments, and then recheck it. If you don't, it's likely Steam will overwrite the file with the default settings.
  16. Sorry, I still don't see it. Everything I've read about this says it's a bug, and I concur. This isn't even the issue either - I want to know how to fix it, not about the intricacies of scripting we know nothing about and whether or not it's this or that, intended or unintended. House does not talk to me, it just clicks, and the robots are not hostile. He is not upset, he is just not responding, and he responded just fine at Fort-Hill.
  17. I don't have a problem with my file being used in this, but here is an issue I see - everyone that downloads this mod is not going in and endorsing each file being used (regardless of the wishes of the person who compiled and uploaded it). Basically, whoever uploaded this file is getting most of the credit, regardless of how much he says the users should thank the modders for their work. I doubt most people even read the descriptions at all, or anything other than installation instructions. Again, it's not like I personally care (my file is not some grand awesome fix), but that's what's happening. His file is being endorsed, not everyone elses, and most people will assume he is the person that should be credited, even if that's not the case. Like in many things, you should always assume the person using your service needs to have their hand held or they will not do as they are told. It's likely that the person that complained felt this way on some level. Where endorsements soared sky high on this compilation, my particular file didn't, and I bet his didn't either.
  18. I don't see how finishing the Boomer quest affects them at all, especially since I did not tell the Boomers to help anyone specifically - the Boomers are only helping me, not the NCR. I don't feel this situation is a "the way it's supposed to be" scenario. And how would House know anyway? If he knows that, then he should know I said "Sure, I'll kill House for you" to Caesar, or that I talked to Yes Man, or that I agreed to help the Brotherhood. This incident doesn't make any sense and is definitely a scripting issue. This is easily one of those situations where; House would tell me to do something about the Boomers, and I say "It's already done", next.
  19. So, I ran into a problem in my game. I finished the Boomer quest for the NCR while I still had House Always Wins 2. Apparently, the next part of HAW is to do exactly what NCR asked you to do. Unfortunately, having finished the NCR quest, it failed my HAW2 quest without me noticing, and I just now finished going through Caesar's camp and upgrading the bots for House. I get back to the Lucky 38 and now House won't talk to me. HAW2 shows as completed/failed in my quest log, with the "Use the Platinum Chip to get into the bunker at fort-hill" not being completed. This is a tricky thing, I think, as the scripts are no doubt screwed up now. But, I want to figure out a way to reset and complete this quest somehow and get the next part of the House Always Wins. I'm not sure what this will do considering the Boomers are already friendly - I imagine it's a little more complicated inside the geck then what it looks like. I've tried using some console commands to reset the quests, but I haven't had any luck, or maybe I'm just doing the wrong commands. Anyone know how I can reset the quest from being completed/failed, complete the quest using the commands so I can then return to House to turn it in for the next stage? I obviously can't go and do everything in the quest again because technically it's finished, so I need to set the entire HAW2 quest to being completed but not turned in yet.
  20. I don't know what to say to this. Sure, it would be neat to see, but you're practically creating an entire game from scratch. Not impossible, but highly improbable that it will ever be done. This is an incredible amount of work that needs to be done to convert it to 3D - the type of work that would take a large team to complete in a modest timeframe.
  21. Only noticeable bug I remember is when I'll be talking to someone and their dialogue won't match what is written on the screen, and then that paragraph that was shown gets skipped altogether.
  22. The only people you're hurting are Walmart, Gamestop, Amazon, or any other company that is buying and selling these games. Boycott them all you want - these companies know when a game has the hype to sell, and it will do so with or without you.
