  1. There definitely will be female roles in the next quest! Thanks for showing interest in the project :)
  2. The position of Lucret has been taken by cloudedtruth, thanks for joining the team! Any Orc voice actors out there? I just finished implementing his part of the quest and would really like to see the brawl with his comments added in.
  3. Alright we've got a fairly large update today! I've finally posted a picture of Arasdir on the front page, so please let me know what you think! Note that right now he is in Nightingale Armor, that is just a placeholder, I am hopefully going to get custom armor made for him before the first release. Over the past few days I spent a total of five or six hours hand creating a new brawl quest. I didn't want to use the vanilla system because it is known to be glitchy without the mod that fixes it, and because I didn't want my mod to conflict with any mods that add brawls via the vanilla brawl quest. This was a difficult process to get refined, but thanks to help from the wonderful Mattiewagg I was able to get this quest up and running. My second quest now has a fully functioning brawl that the player can lose, and the opponent will be tough (especially if you use non-vanilla combat mods). I also am happy to announce that cloudedtruth will be joining the mod as a voice actor for the imperial character Lucret, who also appears in this second quest. So all in all the mod is coming along well, I hope to have the second quest fully implemented without voice by Friday, at which point I will spend the weekend working on more misc dialogue for Arasdir as a follower and writing the script for the third of five quests in the first episode. That being said I really do value your comments and feedback! I want to know what you as the community thinks, and truth be told every time I see a new comment on this post it brings a little joy to my heart as a modder knowing that somebody is interested in the mod. So please, if you are interested and have anything to say please let me know, I will be happy to answer any and all questions. Also if you are a voice actor please check out my other post, we need five different voice actors for the first quest and that doesn't even include Arasdir! Thanks for reading! - AirtightSpring3
  4. I think your Imperial voice could be a good fit for Lucret. Would you be interested in the part?
  5. Hey everyone! For my upcoming Follower/Quest Mod: Arasdir Crassus I need some voice actors. I am currently making the first "Episode" in the main quest line titled The Talos Incident. This is the post I am making to show open positions for VAs for the mod, if you would like a role please post here with what role you would like and some samples of your voice acting. It would also be great if all voice actors can clean their own audio files. Open VA Roles: - Aldaril: An Altmer who is a high ranking agent for the Thalmor. He uses their old Solitude HQ as his base of operations. This is a fairly sizable role because he will have lines across the entire first "Episode" which is five quests long. VA should be able to portray a character who is evil yet collected and intelligent. - Aenar: Leader of a group of Talos Worshippers, he is a somewhat elderly Nord (in his 50s). This is another large role spanning multiple quests. He speaks with a sense authority and I picture him with a deep commanding voice. - Ushbam: A Orc who will appear only in one quest, he has about 10 lines and is drunk for all of them. He is a warrior who will be brawling the player. - Raddin: A Nord who serves as a guard for the Talos Worshippers. He is in his late 30s and speaks with an authoritative tone, he is inspired by Aenar and the work he has done in the name of Talos. He will likely appear in a few quests and have some radiant guard dialogue. His role in the quests will never be all that large though. Taken VA Roles: - Lucret: An Imperial who serves the Talos Worshippers, this is the only quest he will be in and he has about 20 lines. He is probably in his 20s but other than fairly young you can take his voice whichever direction you see fit (just make sure he still sounds imperial). - Voiced by cloudedtruth Please feel free to try out for whichever part you want. I want to thank all voice actors in advance for their assistance! I would also like to note that this is NOT a paid role, I am a college student and money is already scarce enough  The position of Arasdir is not currently up for grabs (The main character) because I am currently working with a few potential voice actors to get some sample lines in. - AirtightSpring3
  6. Progress Update: Exciting news! We have some very talented potential voice actors for Arasdir. I will let you know when I have reached an agreement with a voice actor and give you samples to the lines they are recording for the mod. In other news I have created five new NPCs that are used in the second quest and connected them to their lines. Now on to actually making the quest work. I'll keep you updated as I go. Let me know if anyone wants screenshots of anything, I'll put some up of Aras himself soon!
  7. I am building a mage character playthrough using "Oridinator - Perks of Skyrim," "Apocalypse," and "Lost Grimoire of Skyrim." Along with "Immersive College of Winterhold," for my time in the college. It's going pretty well so far but I just started so I'm not sure how it will turn out late game. If you are looking at perk overhauls I'd also suggest checking out PerMa or SkyRe and compare them to Ordinator to see which one fits your playstyle the best. Hope this helps.
  8. Progress Update: I just mapped out my ideas for a Questline known as The Talos Endeavor, which is the branching side quest line that spans from the second quest of Arasdir's story. It involves a total of 5 quests, two of which are completely different ending quests depending on a decision the player must make. Each quest will include options that will help the player with one of the ending quests, so if you play through this questline knowing which side you are on you will have a much easier time with the final quest. I will fully implement the second Arasdir quest before I begin to write dialogue for this questline. So far I have just mapped out it's stages and objectives/story.
  9. Progress Update: I just finished writing Quest 2: In the Scheme of Things, which will include 5 Scenes with multiple branching paths and the possibility of failure if you say the wrong things. I have also began implementing this quest in the CK.
  10. Thank you for your feedback! I would like to record the lines myself but I do not have a good enough mic to do so, meaning I cannot get rid of enough of the background noise for it to be top quality in game. I am going to try finding my other mic I have somewhere around my house tomorrow to see if that improves my recordings. I have also reached out to a talented voice actor to see if they can do the voice the way I envision it and are able to have the level of commitment needed. If I end up able to do the lines myself I will still need voice actors because there are other very large roles in the quest line that are continuous characters who are likely to have over 100 lines so it is still good to reach out to voice actors at this point in mod development just to get samples and options to make this mod the best it possibly can be. As for recordings in my normal voice, I will get some done tomorrow, hopefully I can find my good mic headset, if not I'll just re-record those three sample lines with my usual gaming mic.
  11. Progress Update: I have written misc lines for Arasdir to say in half of the cities in Skyrim and have outlined the Second Quest, which is the beginning of the first "Episode" as I would call it, at the end of which the player will be able to get Arasdir as a permanent follower. I don't want to spoil too much about the quest or the questline but this new quest will involve two branching paths, the possibility of failure, and a contract with the Dominion. I will start working on implementing the quest frame in game tomorrow, but I am putting off doing more recording until I receive adequate feedback on my voice acting or find a voice actor who can be committed and produce the voice I am looking for.
  12. I posted some samples of my voice on SoundCloud, check it out and please tell me what you think in the poll! Right now I am just writing more lines of dialogue because I don't want to get farther along with recording and then have to go get a new voice actor. So PLEASE I want YOUR opinions, vote in the poll above and post comments here. Thanks! SoundCloud Samples: https://soundcloud.com/airtightspring3
  13. Thanks! I hope yours goes well too! It does get pretty tough but its fun and rewarding, just work at your own pace and don't be pressured to go faster than you can. Release a solid product on your time :)
  14. Okay it's been a few days. I have been doing some optimization to my Skyrim to make the game actually run well. I finally managed to fix Shesons memory patch so now I can run mods without infinitely loading once again! I have also implemented a large variety of hellos for Arasdir and I am currently in the process of writing his random dialogue for cities.
  15. Update: I have completed the first quest. I decided to go back and split up the ending so it allows for a different quest in the future if you made a certain decision. I know that is vague but I don't want to spoil anything. I also tested it and all of its endings in game and came out with no bugs! Now back to recording lines!
  16. Yeah it looks great! I can't wait to download it when its out. I'm just rewatching Game of Thrones (once again) and also just started reading the first book of the ASOIAF series. Also, don't worry, the follower will be at least somewhat likable, he just takes after Littlefinger's intelligence, ability to get what he wants, and manipulation of others (which trust me will help the player out).
  17. Thanks! I am guessing I will have a few questions on some of the more complex scripting when I get to that aspect of the mod. For now I am adding quests and dialogue. Also sorry about my mistake in my post, I feel bad now, I worked with you for months on Immersive Quests and for some reason assumed you were a guy the entire time! My apologies. On another note, progress update to the community: I just recorded about 30 lines of dialogue and updated the description :)
  18. Arasdir Crassus First of all, I want to take the time to thank you for reading this post. This is a mod that I started close to a week ago, so far I have recorded about 70 lines of dialogue, created a quest with multiple branches, and made a follower that is off the base follower system who has a custom voice. This mod is my attempt at making a follower who is a little bit different than any you have had before. I know, I know, all of us mod authors say that, but in a way it’s true, each custom follower that is released gives something different to the community, that will be perfect for a particular set of users. So without further ado, I present to you, Arasdir Crassus. Who He Is http://static-8.nexusmods.com/15/images/110/5468649-1444282644.jpg Arasdir is a Breton from a noble family, as you will find out during his first quest. I don’t want to give too much about him away, but I will tell you that he has a vast network of connections that will be quite helpful to the player in certain situations. He is very opinionated and will tell you if he thinks you are doing the wrong thing by doing certain quests, he may even tell you that he thinks you should be massacring a particular guild as opposed to joining them. He does care deeply about his own desires so there is one path on the first quest you can take which will negate your ability to have him as a follower altogether. Arasdir takes some inspiration from a certain Game of Thrones character who built himself up from nothing and who uses manipulation and the chaos of the realm to get what he desires. You will find that Arasdir may not be completely trustworthy, but he sure is useful to have around. And yes, his voice is slightly annoying, but that’s just part of his charm. Mod Goals I hope to add many features to Arasdir, the most basic among them being a vast array of dialogue and comments available for given situations, a custom follower system, and a line of quest that focuses on player choice which starts right as you meet Arasdir. Now since I am hoping to keep Arasdir as a non combat follower there are a few things I want to add to him to make him especially useful to the player, so I’ll list some of my ideas which I have not yet implemented. I want him to be able to make temporary alliances between the player and certain enemy factions so that the player can complete some quests without violence if that is how they wish to proceed. I hope to give him the ability to remove bounties from the player once a day for a discounted price, and possibly even have him use his connections to remove the “stolen” marker from items. He is an expert on illusion magic, so I want him to be able to help the player learn some new spells and possibly cast a few in times of need. I want him to be able to use magic to buff the player in battles, what that buff is may be customizable. All of this will be an ongoing work in progress and will probably not be available for the first release, right now I am focusing on getting him many lines of dialogue, and on getting his first quest perfected (it alone has about 40 lines of dialogue). So please give any feedback you have, for example, if the community as a whole hates the idea of a non combat follower, I am open to change. Please let me know what you think. Progress and Closing Statement First Quest Completion: 100% (And tested for bugs: it works!) Second Quest Completion: 80% Quests Written: 2 Quests Planned: 7 Lines of Dialogue: 120 Custom Follower Framework: 100% Link to My SoundCloud for Voice Samples: https://soundcloud.com/airtightspring3 Thank you for taking the time to read this description. I hope many of you come to love this idea and are looking forward to its eventual release. I am not the fastest worker seeing as I am a college student, but I did just start studying computer science so my scripting skills will only improve as time goes on. If something seems to hard for the time I may have to put it off a few months until my learning progresses to a point where I can handle it, but I will keep working all the same. I also want to thank Mattiewagg for her follower framework tutorial and help over the last few days, she responded quickly and was very informative. Thank you for your time. - AirtightSpring3
  19. I love the GOT inspirations! I'm currently attempting to make a custom follower that takes after Littlefinger. He's not the most likable character but he sure is smart.
  20. Sounds like a great mod! I wish you good luck on starting this project, it can be tough but don't give up!
  21. Since I haven't decided yet which direction to take the mod I have just been working on the interiors. I am going through and redoing most of the shops since I feel like I did them with vanilla shops in mind and I would like to put a more updated spin on them with more of a personal touch. Today I started on the blacksmith shop, and completely redid it, turning what was the eating room into an expanded shop, moving that to the commander of the barrack's old room and combining his room with the soldier's room just separated by dividers. I am definitely going to redo the inn, mage's tower, and general store, as well as adding three new buildings (unsure what yet). The temple and worker home will also get some changes as well as the finished dungeon. I did not do a great job lighting these so I definitely want to do this. This will probably take me quite some time to do so I can give all time to decide which way you want me to take the mod. I feel like the player home, bath house and farm house are all great and really only need a lighting update. So please let me know what you want from this mod and maybe I can put it in one of the three new shops.
  22. Just wondering, if LOD/time was not a problem would you guys prefer the Sortanic Isles or Riften Depths idea better?
  23. I know it has been a long time since I posted anything but I recently started looking at my old files again. The Sortanic Isles project I began working on was a bust when I spent months trying to fix LOD and can still not get it to work. I'm trying to get it to work with some help still, but I would like your input on if you even like the idea that requires LOD more than my original one. So please give me input on which mod you would rather see released in the poll above, any comments would be helpful explaining why you made your choice.
  24. If I uninstall MO and go back to NMM how can I get the buttons on nexus to go back to sayings " Download with NMM" instead of " Download with Manager"
