Just rename the esm or esp files then. Ah.. let's rename this A and rename that B. Not hard, is it?

If i wanted to make a Lore-friendly mod..
Callighan replied to Rixirite's topic in Fallout 3's Discussion
Open an interior or worldspace cell, then click drag from the items window into the render window. The same also works for NPCs and other items including markers. Press f to let the container fall into place. Hold and press x, y, or z while you click-hold and drag the mouse to position the item along the said axises. Easy stuff, really. Just like lego. :) -
So you're saying one click launches a barrage of shots, making it effectively, a sniper rifle? I didn't know that.

Callighan replied to Rixirite's topic in Fallout 3's Discussion
Nothing, really. Just the GECK. Open the containers section of the GECK. Right click on any container and select "new". Or you could open a ready made container, modify the contents, give it a new name, click ok and select yes when GECK asks you whether you want to create a new container itemid. Easy. Just make a new note and add it into the container. -
On my left hand, is an apple. And on my right hand, is a pear. Both are of the same genus, and yet so different. On my left hand, is Oblivion. And on my right hand, is Fallout 3. This one has fire spells, and the other has nukes. One of them have daedra fights, and the other has bloody mess. The one on the left has fierce melee combat, and the other one has deadly VATS. Need you continue?

I'd take a stable, automatic rifle with a scope over a rifle with an annoying spread any day. But each gamer to their own. And you can't deny what feels right to each player.

Deathclaw and melee spells death to me. Deathclaws in FO3 one of the scariest foes I've met in games. The speed, the damage.. they're ferocious. Quite different from supermutants which can be outrun. Critical multiplier or not, that's a feat right there.

Warping to Another Worldspace Through Tiggers
Callighan replied to Callighan's topic in Fallout 3's Discussion
Lovely. Will test that out. Thanks. :) Addendum: it works. Thanks for that, gsmanners. -
So I'm trying to figure out whether it's possible to warp from from one worldspace to another by use of or other collision triggers? What' I'm trying to do is make the player walk to an invisible collision marker which will automatically teleport the player into a different worldspace without making it feel like a door. Is that theorhetically possible? I'd love to know since I haven't tested it myself. Any feedback is welcomed. :) Edit: I noticed I wrongly wrote "trigger". Please don't mind that. ;D

The size of the worldspace combined by game engine limitations and the problems of heightmapping and terrain detailing would make the worldspace creation would a bit nightmarish. Depending on how much time one can dedicate to refining this alone, it could take several weeks only for the worldspace.

Well in that case: 1st. Terrible crappy looking place. = Research the Edward Gein house, add dead bodies on hooks (raider house meshes) 2nd. It's an alright place. = Similar to houses in Big Town, moderate amounts of litter on the floot 3rd. Not that bad. = Similar to Silver's house;. old, dirty but looks functional 4th. This is pretty cool. = Similar to Megaton house, has Robot Butler 5th. Sweet. = Similar to Tenpenny Suite, add security traps (scripting required) 6th. HOLY SH*T = Tranquility Lane house with pristine furniture (minus the black and white ImageSpace)

For holy s**t: make a talking hand.

Leadpipe, you might want to use photobucket or imageshack to host the pictures. Other than that, the interior and lighting looks sweet. Got a good vibe there. Keep at it. :)

NPC reaction to PlaceAtMe explosions
Callighan replied to HugePinball's topic in Fallout 3's Discussion
I'm thinking you want to be able to apply this to all explosions without changing them, right? I think I've got new ideas. They're mainly based on the player's actions. You could create a detection event on the player (or the explosive) which is triggered by GetLastPlayerAction on throw grenade or lay mines or triggered by GetIsUsedItem. Hopefully, that will bait the AI to act in the manner you want without attaching object effects. On the area attribute issue, I'm not entirely sure whether area effects spread on after hitting an NPC, but if you attach an object effect on an explosion, every NPC or creature that got hit by the explosion will get the object effect. Unless, that NPC is standing behind a crate, small wall, or anything that blocks the explosion. -
I think it'll be really grand if you can get English modders on board. They might be able to give off a more accurate impression of the English faction. I've talked to Gabe on Skype and he's knows what kind of work awaits. Turns out he did a ton of stuff on Second Life. This guy can script.

Perhaps you've already though of this, but attaching a script effect that does what you want on the explosion might work. -
Scrapyard: The Robotic Haven
Callighan replied to DestructiveBinaries's topic in Fallout 3's Mod Ideas
I'd be worried about where you're going to put this city of yours. The capital wasteland is already crowded as it is. Other than that, a city full of protectrons with a supercomputer for a mayor is outstanding. I'll definitely be looking forward to this. +1 motivation. -
That sounds splendid. If you need a voice actor with an accent, I could help. In any case, best of luck.
-
No. You can have it.

I suggest using TESAnwynn to make a worldspace. The water level is buggy. The safe thing to set the water level at 10500 and any ground higher. If you haven't read this worldspace tutorial, it's really helpful. You may want to trick the player's sense of space by placing invisble walls in the right areas. That way, you won't need to detail the worldspace too much.

Well obviously the OP haven't commented on his thread, so it feels like beating a dead horse. Agreed. It's a gratis community, after all. Nobody's getting paid. Good relations make for good motivations.

Keyser Soze from the Usual Suspects. He didn't look menacing, posed no threat, and acted downright weak. But oh boy, he's a cold, calculating, and calm mastermind.

What should be the first online feature I add to Fallout 3?
Callighan replied to Cakester's topic in Fallout 3's Discussion
Cakester, browsing the wiki while playing is a neat idea. It saves the hassle of alt-tabbing for a lot of players. -
You might find GetDataBack or any similar program quite useful in this sort of situation.

Well once upon a time, Jackpack was a rookie poster who showed nothing. He asked for assistance for his mod. Naturally, a lot got irked. So he showed us he had done a lot, but kept it secret. And what he showed was promising. Because of that, I decided to help a bit. I'd like to give BrokenC the benefit of doubt. Although I am wary of grandiose announcements. In any case, several larger-scale mods get released without much pomp (Ultimate War and Magnetic War comes into mind). Although, I do agree with what you're saying about mushroom projects.
