  1. OMG! That Bethesda Tutorial leaves a lot of info out that is necessary. I searched all over this forum and the Creation kit wiki till I found this answer...AND IT WORKS! Thanks so much for posting the answer and not just leaving this thread hanging. Kudos!

  3. This could be a relapse of a bug caused by editing world spaces. When duplicating a vanilla cell, this has been known to happen. Sometimes, another mod will cause this so I recommend uninstalling any mod that alters a vanilla cell...then reload skyrim and see if your mesh is visible. If not, it might be the type of fireplace you are using some are buggy...I'm not sure which...I hate dealing with buggy meshes..Good Luck.
  4. I"m amazed that nobody has replied to your message in nearly a 24 hour period (ADDED COMMENT: I see that the nexus' time is not the same as my time, Hmmm). I assume you have already read and watched ALL the tutorials on the creationkit.com and youtube. If not, I strongly recommend you do this first. As for your questions on editing the reguard powers or creating a cooldown time for powers...the answer is yes, but might require some scripting.

  6. Got good news...I read several other post....and did some tests...try changing the PRIORITY of your quest to 10 this worked for me. Another thing I noticed is the loading a cell from the main menu (aka coc markarthorigin) will cause all new quesetion not to work. PERIOD. But loading a saved game, will allow the engine to look for quests.

  8. Hey...anyway...I just starting learning how to make quests and I'm having the same problem. I followed the Creation Kit Wiki Tutorial to the letter and went in game to test and I can' even activate my created npc... I'm guessing there is a glitch with the NEW NPC creation that is making them invalid to dialogue. However, I left my topic CONDITIONS empty to see if anyone else would say them..and nothing. So it could be a Dialogue bug from the 1.7 patch I don't have any work around for you...but I am trying to work around it. If I find something I'll let you know.

  11. So sFalmer being a setting, would my question about changing it be correct as well??? Previous question: "I ask this cause I am aware that Skyrim could use a condition to check if "sfalmer" == "FALMER". If it does, changing the STRING will cause issues"
  12. I have nothing to add, just wanted to thank all those that have added. I've been reading each post carefully to see if anyone has figured out how to create new keywords that work. I like all the work-arounds posters have meantioned. This is great to know. I didn't fully understand this statement: "They're stored in the game settings as strings in the form sXXX, where XXX is the material type. Since there's no clear connection between the material type keywords and they're translations, I've had to flail a little to find what is probably still an incomplete list:" What I thought it meant was: FORM "siron" = STRING "IRON" so that "weapmaterialIron" calls "siron" when displaying it in the "Forge" Menu. When I created a new FORM I get this error: "Unknown GameSetting Type encountered in gamesetting::Copy." Also, concerning changing FORM "sfalmer" STRING "FALMER" If I were to rename the STRING to "Jsword" would that cause a problem with the game??? QUOTE "It is possible to change these strings in the Game Settings menu, for example to make them mixed case, or perhaps more importantly to rename an unused category (Draugr? Falmer?) to something else (Arrows or Soups?). " I ask this cause I am aware that Skyrim could use a condition to check if "sfalmer" == "FALMER". If it does, chaning the STRING will cause issues.
  13. Race Bonus Overhaul (RBO), (http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/19374) removes the Skyrim Race Bonuses and adds skill increases ratios instead. Argonians now learn the Lockpicking skill faster than all other races, Orcimers learn the Heavy Armor skill faster, Redguards learn the One-Handed weapon skill faster, and so on with each race. Races no longer have bonuses for skills. The "Skill Use Multi" is increased 10% for Major skills and 5% for Minor skills, allowing players to learn Race specific skill faster overall, instead of all at once from the beginning. Here is a link to each races Major and Minor Skills: http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Races I used the Mage/Thief/Warrior Stones as benchmarks to create this mod. There might be issues with these stones in whether or not you stil get the 20% skill improvement. I have no way of testing whether the 20% overrides the 10% or 5% "Skill Use Multi". The stones work on a Three system overlay. Perks, Magic Effects, then Abilities, lower to higher priority respectively. I copied this overlay to make this work. When I'm able to find a work around to avoid overwriting the stones, I'll update these files. FOUR OPTIONS: ---WARNING CHOOSE ONLY ONE, THEY DO THE SAME THING, WITH SLIGHT CHANGES--- ---MAKE SURE ONLY ONE IS CHECKED IN YOUR DATA FILES LISTS--- 1. RBO.esp ---This is the Default file 2. RBO_Hidden.esp ---This Hides the Race Bonuses in the "Active Effects" Magic manu. 3. RBO_Extreme.esp ---Changes the Ratios to: Major 50% faster, Minor 25% faster ---(The Idea of Extreme is that Minor skill improvements in the Default are marginal and are hardly noticed. This makes a more noticable change in skill improvement) 4. RBO_Extreme_Hidden ---This Hides the Race Bonuses in the "Active Effects" Magic manu. I recommend using this mod with: "Choose Your Own Adventure--Skills at Level Zero" By Sukeban http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/17002 Hope you enjoy the Immersion as much as I do.

I...LMAO....I was washing dishes (Someone has to)...when it finally clicked...I went to my PC to add a comment about how I understand what you two meant...to find you had actually explained it the same way I figured it out... So your skills as a good teacher are good. You just needed some time... Yes, there is a difference between the Ratios of Membership Required files and Non-Mebmership Required files, but I need to know the EXACT files and NEXUS's standards before I can update the list. Thanks both of you for the time in explaining this.
  16. I agree with most of what you have said, but I have a few questions for clarification, if you don't mind. I don't, however, agree with this statement... As I stated earlier, members that DL and do not Endorse, LOWER the ratio. And NOT non-members only, regardless of whether it is Downlaodable to non-members. And concerning this statement... And how would you adjust the Ratio to compensate for this Variable??? Thanks.
  17. @tetradite Hey thanks for sharing those figures. You may be quite right, even though the percentages are low, maybe the modders are happy with it. I suppose I should ask. LOL! BTW you and lnsentience will have to better explain HOW it distorts the figure, cause I'm not seeing how. Whether your a member or not, by downloading and not endorsing, the Ratio is lowered. Do you agree with that??? As stated before, the Ratio is for determining how many Users are (and are NOT) Endorsing, Member or Not a Member. Yes, only Members can Endorse, but Non-member can register, then Endorse if they really like the mod? Do you agree with that??? Do you agree that not all Members are Endorsing mods they download??? Now if, per-say, a non-member can download repeatedly, and NEXUS considers each DL as a Unique Download, that would make the Ratio obsolete. So Please better explain how it fudges the Ratio. Thanks. ADDED COMMENT: If a member downloads a mod and does not Endorse, the Ratio goes down. If a non-member downloads a mod and CAN"T Endorse, the Ratio goes down. If a member Downloads a mod, and Endorses, the Ratio goes up. Argo, ONLY MEMBERS CAN IMPROVE THE ENDORSMENT RATIO. END ADDED COMMENT.
  18. I agree with this...there have been some mods that I find REVOLTING that I wish could be banned from the NEXUS. But even those mods have supporters that endorse and comment on how much they love that mod. The star system (if used before downloading, or even after) could cause the kind of issues you meantioned. Which is why the NEXUS managers probably chose the easy way...ENDORSEMENTS.

  20. @lnsentience I now know that you do not fully understand the purpose of the ratio. Endorsements / Unique Downloads = Percent of Downloaders that are Endorsing a mod. This ratio has nothing to do with whether or not they are registered or not. There are registered members that are not endorsing these mods as well. And their reason for NOT endorsing them is their own business. Of the nearly 96.933% of downloaders that have not Endorsed SKyUI...I highly doubt they are ALL non-registered downloaders. So how could that FUDGE the Ratio??? AS A SPECIAL NOTE: I am not persuading or complaining about the lack of Endorsements. The Ratio was something I found interesting and wanted to share and hear different view points. @Georgiegril I totally agree with your 1-5 star rating Idea. The Endorsements do not accurately show the quality of a mod.
  21. I want to thank EVERYONG who has shared their opinion...there is no right or wrong on this topic. i just found it interesting how low the ER was. Here are my replies to previous comments Very good point...thanks for making me aware of the lack of membership issue...I would have never thought to consider that. However, the ratio still applies since these users aren't taking the time to register so they can Endorse. Your saying it's an obligation for people to endorse mods they download. People endorse mods they like. They're not going to endorse a mod to support the modder if they don't like the mod itself. True...just because a user downloads a mod, doesn't mean they like it. The Ratio is to show both the lack of users endorsing a mod, and how many people are downloading the mod...if you calculate the "Total Downloads" you can figure how many people are activly invlolved in updates, these are the people that should be Endorsing a mod. SKyUI's Update users are 877,941, giving a ratio of 1.603%. now not knowing how many times a single individual has updated, we can still do some amazing caculation to see the number of updates that have accured, versus the number of unique dowloads to Total Downloads and come up with a very similar figure. I do this as well, anytime I'm updating a mod...I make sure I've Endorsed it. If I'm updating...I must like it! This is a very good point. The top 100 have already received their position as a popular mod, both from D/L and Ed. And I strognly RECOMMEND USER VOTING FOR THE LITTLE GUY AS WELL! However, the Ratio is about the lack of endorsments, even for the little guys..of which I'll have an update suretly on the Ratio's of the little guys soon. Thanks again all for voicing your opinion.
  22. I found it very interesting that SkyUI had 1.3 Million Downlaods, yet only 14,000 Endorsements. I started to look closer at the details of each Top 10 Mod to see how they compared. I was amazed at the figures... As of Sunday, May 20, 12:00AM Though SKyUI was #1 in Endorsements, Deadly Dragons ( #8 ) had the highest Endorsement Ratio (ER) at 4.193%. This showed me that so many users are downloading and playing these great mods, yet not showing their support. A mere 2.5% (average) of all users are actaully supporting the modders.   24. Thanks for going above and beyond what I asked you to do. Your script calls this function "PlaceAtMe(ChairInvisibleSingle)" I'm under the impression that only actors and activators can be moved. (http://www.creationkit.com/Complete_Example_Scripts, Move an Object to a Specific Location Without Fade) I've actually been playing with the "moveto" function, and "ChairinvisibleSingle" is static and can't be moved. I'll be testing "Placeatme" to see if it works better than "moveto". I'm looking forward to testing the script. if anything it has given me some new ideas of how to make it work. Thanks ADDED COMMENT: CK Wiki had this to say about "Placeatme" "Note: the akFormToPlace can be things such as MiscItem, Actor, ActorBase, etcetera, but it cannot be an ObjectReference" http://www.creationkit.com/PlaceAtMe_-_ObjectReference Thought I'd look it up before I tested it. It is not meantioned whether or not STATICS can be used.
