  1. I guess I should try with a new game then. Thank you.
  2. Sadly, I want to add a line to the sharpshooter for the Phantom perk. Is it possible? Thanks for the info on the ranger though. Also, I've seen cleaned up versions of the .ini files floating around out there. Is there a way I can get an unmodded version of these?
  3. I've searched for this but had no luck. I would like to have two (gimmie) skills at the Squaddie rank instead of just one. I tried to do this with the .ini files but had no luck. I can't figure out how to use the Modbuddy and would welcome the help. Also, if anyone knows of such a mod that already exists, then I would appreciate a link.
  4. Well, some of that I can address. All of that will be done in Unreal Editor. The starting page for the UDK 3 documentation on that is here : https://udn.epicgames.com/Three/EditorAndToolsHome.html Textures can be imported and exported into a *.upk file using this. Textures are bound to materials. Materials are applied to meshes. Meshes are configured via archetypes, and archetypes are referenced/configured by code. For replacement, probably the best bet is to copy the existing archetype to a new package by the same name in your mod content folder. That way the package.file path to the archetype will be the same, and the mod version should override the base game version. Alternatively, if it is configured in DefaultContent/XComContent, you could mod that config file to match your new package.file path. Well, that all seems complicated. I'm sure it's simpler than it sounds. I get what your are saying about replacing the archetype and I think I can figure out where to find the models and textures. But I'm stuck on the basics of mod building. Soon, someone will make a step by step tutorial for the modbuddy. Right now, I can't make head nor tails of that thing. I'll get it eventually and I have patience enough to wait. Thanks for replying and great work with your mods. I'm really enjoying the sub-machine guns. It goes great with the Psi-op class.
  5. Texturing and such I'll have to defer to the artists like JC Lewis, though I'm not sure if he's lurking around here yet. I can handle all of the art, I just need to know how to extract the correct files and then repack them into the game. I'm sure there is a way, but I don't know how to use the tools yet.
  6. I want to retexture a few things, Shen's shirt for example. Can someone walk me through the process? I did a search, but came up empty. Thanks. By the way, I have no idea how to use the mod buddy. There aren't any beginner tutorials yet.
  7. I've already beaten the game. A save game editor would be fun way add to the game longevity.
  8. My male orc npcs are stuck in the mannequin t-stance. They can't do anything other than speak. All other races work properly and female orcs work properly as well. I have narrowed the fault down to my main mod and can't seem to find the actual problem. I am not using any animation mods at all. I haven't changed the skeleton since March 2012. I did create a half-orc race but I didn't use orcs as a template to start with. I just retinted an elf race and added orc eyes and voices etc. So I don't know why that would have an effect on male orcs. Also, I'm not sure when this problem actually happened. I don't run across many orcs in my travels. It seems fairly recent though. I searched the web for an answer but haven't found anything else like my problem. I don't know where to look for an answer. I tried FNIS but that had no effect. I don't use animations anyway.
  9. This issue has been driving me nuts too. I made a pirate ship a few days ago. half the time, I can see everythng. But, Every other time, the ship is gone but everything on the deck is still there. I seriously would like to find a solution. Everything I've tried did nothing to fix the problem.
  10. Yes, I have tried nifscope. I followed several tutorials closely but I coulndn't get it to work in game. I got very frustrated. I downloaded blender and tried to join the meshes that way. It didn't work either. I'm not very good at mesh editing and I lack the time to try to learn Blender. I Just want to make simple mods for personal use. The request is still out there for anyone who wants to help.
  11. I have a simple request. I want to change the arena armor. I found two great mods here. http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=31569 and http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=28695 The arena armor is a one piece suit but these two armors are split in sets. I have tried to join them myself but lack the skill ( and the patience.) I know it is a simple task for some of you master blenders so I thought I would ask for aid. I do not intend to modify the armors in any other way, I just want a one piece set for each. I also don't intend to distribute my mod, so the original authors shouldn't have a problem with my request. Thanks for your time.
  12. I was afraid of that. Well, thank you for searching.
  13. Yes I have. There is no option for the dialog skip. Thank you though.
  14. I want to remap the "skip dialog" button from 'esc' to 'spacebar.' I can't find it in the keybindings.ini. I searched the web but can't find anything.
