  1. (I am using Vortex version 1.9.5 with the Steam version of Fallout 4.) A lot of mods come with an installer which contains their own little setup routine. I believe this form is called a FOMod(?). Let's call the result of the installation process a mod setup for now. Vortex profiles only allow to have a different combination and plugin order of active mods. They do not allow for a second or third mod setup of the same mod. Therefore it seems to me that (a single instance of) Vortex allows only for one mod setup. Is that correct? I currently have the problem that I am using a central mod A upon which a lot of other mods depend - mods that came with an installer asking me if I was using mod A, B or C as central mod so they installed a version that could adapt to my A. Now I would like to test out B as central mod.But because a lot of my other mods depend on A, I would have to remove those mods and reinstall them to work with B. And doing so in one profile would mean that many of my other profiles - which also use A as central mod and many other mods depending on A - would be invalidated: My saves would be corrupt and these profiles would stop working. Am I missing something?Or is there a way around this? --EDIT--Since a lot of people have read this and not answered I wonder if I should have given a practical example as a showcase. If my description comes across as too abstract then please exchange A with CBBE and B with another body mod. Body mods are mods on which several other mods depend, mods like clothing mods or textures mods for the body or bodyslide presets, etc. But those mods often come with an installer that can adapt the installation to the body mod you have installed in your game.
  2. Hi IDontEvenKnow You really have my thanks for trying to explain this to me! And I have really tried to make sense from your explanation. But I am afraid I can't see the light. I term APPR does not appear anywhere in the "Armor" section of the mod in question. So I have no APPR subrecord and can neither click on it nor next to it. It seems to me that not only does the subrecord not exist - the APPR record title does also not show up. Have a look:Next problem: How do I include an image into this post. A link to imgbb was dismissed as not allowed in this form. None of the media / image buttons above explain how to operate the dialogs behind them. Try copy this address into a new browser tab, it'll have the image: https://ibb.co/7V06sWg Nifty feature ... as long as you have something to drag. I bet it does. Anyhow, we can close this matter, because yesterday I installed CK and did it there. Easy too, because this tool did actually offer an ATTR section for every armor, even when there was currently no subrecord/value in it. <irony>How ingenious is that?</irony>
  3. While trying to apply this good description on how to add "Ballistic Weave" to an armor that so far has non ... I ran into a problem concerning FO4Edit and could not find help on the net: So the essence of this link above is to add "ma_Railroad_ClothingArmor [KYWD:0020DE40]" (without the double quotes) to the KWDA (Keywords) section and then to add "ap_Railroad_ClothingArmor "No Weave" [KYWD:0020DE3E]" (without the double quotes) to the APPR (Attach Parent Slots ?) section. The problem is that these armors do not have an APPR section. (is it called "section" ... or "subsection" or "node"?) So what do I do? Do I have to add this APPR section first? Can I do that with FO4Edit? Or do I have to download CK? ______ Edit: I just tried to copy this APPR node from a vanilla outfit to the armor in my mod, but it didn't work, because I have now clue how to do this. Standard clipboard commands (ctrl+c / ctrl+v) do not seem to work on a tree node. So the problem remains.
  4. Yep, I also saw it today for the first time. It is now on every page on nexus - or so it seems. Today I tried to look up new mods that I could use for a new Skyrim play-through, but every time a new page loaded I got crazy about the fxxxin´ video. In my anger I clicked on it in order to stop it, but of course that only brought me to the page, that was advertised in it. I do not find this sort of forced-in-your-face advertisement bearable, I am sorry. Is there any way to deactivate this? ------ Edit: Sorry, it seems I posted in the wrong forum? I was not pointing out a bad ad but rather complaining about the way the Popular Stories video is shoved in your face on every page in the nexus.

  6. Hi, I am a total newbie to modding and have a very basic question. I hope this is the right forum to ask it. I am in the process of learning to mod and doing that by looking at the contents of other people's mods. My understanding is that if I open an esp file in Creation Kit (CK), than CK opens the master file (probably skyrim.esm) together with the esp. In result I have tons of data in CK, but so far no way of knowing: What are the changes done by that esp file I am interested in? In short: How do I see the contents of an esp file ... other than using a hex editor on it? Especially: Is there a filter or other way in CK to show me only the changes made by the active mod? Thanks in front.
