  1. I'll post the fan-chosen features in this part of the thread. Now, to explain why me and not Bethesda: They've got their hands full; furthermore, I'm merely "hosting" this poll and thread, while the fans do the actual debating. Still, why am I so special, that this thread must be the sole decision of the fans? Who's to say that I'm the only one, or the first? In fact, so as to make sure that all recognition of the desire for the MMO from the fans is well-renowned, I'm adding some hyperlinks to other threads of a very similar belief: http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/551166-fallout-mmo/?hl=fallout%20mmo http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/547110-fallout-3-mmo/?hl=fallout+mmo&do=findComment&comment=4483305 http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/451900-fallout-online/?hl=fallout+mmo&do=findComment&comment=3747294 Okay, so what do you guys want for the MMO? As far as this thread is concerned, we're debating the new features--we're not necessarily asking for the MMO itself, though a number of us may reply with this, which is the only case of whether or not this is asking for the MMO. Fan-Chosen Features: TBA... Edit 17:48, March 13, 2014: The creation team needn't be Bethesda, though if not, they (the team in question) will need the rights to it, or a copy of the rights, or however that would work.
  2. Good; if Ryuukage0101 hasn't already, I'll send you that Dropbox information as soon as possible!
  3. Like I talked about in my conversations with Ryuukage0101, the mod will hopefully [someday] include the voice cast of Obsidian's very own; of course, this goal would not be unlikely due to their exclusivity, as they include a bit from the "Two Bears High Five" mod, but due to the length this project would actually take (and it is taking long so far), so--we'll need modders, and a bucket-load of 'em. Ryuukage0101, since I'm so lazy enough nowadays to rely on appointed bureaucrats, will "take my calls" (or, he will send you the Dropbox information, to put it realistically). The reason why I'd need Obsidian's voice cast, and pretty much nothing else from them (though, I've never really checked in to it enough), was, is, and perhaps forever will be said in detail or fragments: This is basically adding the default characters and factions (that is, the ones made by Obsidian) to a whole new world, thus, the voice actors would simply be needed to voice anything from simple banter (i.e., "I love living on Novi Orbis", "The Federal Republic of the Enclave just attacked the Empire of the Caesar's Legion today, and took <insert city name here> from them", &c.) to any [or perhaps all] new quests included in the final edition of the mod. In other words, the mod's final form will be rather linear, but not its initial states. If I don't make any sense, ask what you haven't or didn't catch.
  4. Perhaps this isn't a mod request (since I couldn't find "model requests"), yet I need help: Can anyone make a 3D rendition of Aradesh? And, if possible, of Tandy and Seth? Because I was in the middle of making a series of currencies (for fun), but I can't quite make a good Seth or Aradesh. EDIT: Also, ones of Dick Richardson, Daniel Bird (or other Enclave leader that was/is significant), and John Maxson? Because they're also not in 3D--or at least, I can't find them!
  5. The mod is still under-way; there will later be a screenshot from Osais, courtesy of Ryuukage0101.
  6. Okay, time to revive this crap... Can anyone help with the project (apart from me and Ryuukage0101)? We're moving rather slowly; can you please help us? I'll give you a cookie!
  7. Okay, so I've added the file with the heightmap implemented; it should do for a little while. Remember: If we hurry this, it'll plain suck.
  8. FINALLY, AFTER ALL THESE HOURS--I've got the heightmap working for the GECK! It looks really identical to the original design; I didn't even need Photoshop. EDIT: I'm going to work on the map a little, so I might not have too much contact with you guys--wish me luck!
  9. New suggestion; tell me how it looks, etc.
  10. Even though I originally intended to make a 4096x4096-size map, instead of the usual 1024x1024- or 2048x2048-size maps, and based on that, I originally implemented so many factions, I still agree once more. Sorry that I didn't add that bit earlier; though, it would explain why I used such large maps, right? EDIT: I do believe that we're using a 2048x2048-size map, as-of-yet, due to a 4096x4096-size map being to much to work with, unless, y'know...
  11. Don't worry; like I've been saying, this isn't to be hurried--if we were to hurry it, your lack of skill and my lack of genius would ultimately, unfortunately, and untimely receive a terrible rating. So, we should go about the project rather cautiously. If you have a life outside of these forums, and there's nothing imperative to do for the project, then go through that life of yours 'til it's able to be worked on, or whatever.
  12. Done! Tell me when you need the credentials.
  13. Sounds good...wait, who's making it? Me or you? I'm perplexed.
  14. Did I say "do it fast"? Of course I understand how lengthy a mod of my defined magnitude would take; didn't anyone notice how it took around two whole years to just make the "vanilla" version of Fallout 3? That's how it was so "good"; this mod might as well take between half-a-year and twenty--I've never stated that it must come immediately. As I recall, all I've been asking was to give me any updates on your ends, if any, rather than "KEEP ON DOIN' IT, MOTHAF****!", or something to the letter of that. I'm sorry if I'm confusing, amicum meus. EDIT: If you mean for me to make the "jist" of the mod, like in the GECK or PowerPoint, then I'll do that easily. EDIT2: Uhm, can someone with Adobe Photoshop convert the following files into RAW format? Because I'm poor. http://i1285.photobucket.com/albums/a584/mssmjscss/1_0_zpsdd71f080.png http://i1285.photobucket.com/albums/a584/mssmjscss/1_1_zps643da1a5.png http://i1285.photobucket.com/albums/a584/mssmjscss/0_1_zps53ee33e7.png http://i1285.photobucket.com/albums/a584/mssmjscss/0_0_zps52ad02df.png
  15. I'm well-aware of that; but as the CEO of mssmjscss, INC. (a company that which currently sells nothing!), I know that I must gather more than us two, of course, but not simply a handful. Also, in this mod, there's a need for "unique" voice acting, so it's surely necessary to acquire at least twelve of them (i.e., four children, four adults, four elderly, six male, six female, six white, six black, etc.), or perhaps three really good ones; another reason why it cannot be just us two. Next, we need story developers; granted, we could throw some of our own two pebbles into the pond, yet having five script-writers makes an excellent play, as we're not all like Shakespeare. Additionally, we'd need level designers to piece together the actual levels, as well as graphical designers to create the visualization; since this mod is aimed to be a parallel universe, this shouldn't have a high priority, as most of it will originate from the normal setting of the game as it is. Furthermore, we'll need BETA testers, to see any glitches, as well as see if it is fun, by how much, etc. Finally, we'll need someone or a few people to produce it and make it downloadable from the Internet. In other words, you're usually right, but you lack specification on what things you're right with/on. No offense intended, though it might have been accidentally given as such an impression.
  16. Hey, I don't want to come off as forceful, but I really want to hear replies here, since I'm in need of verification for your presence...at a constant pace. Just sayin', I just hate to be alone; wait a minute--you said that you juggle between home-stuff and this thread? That sounds eerily close to my own life; I now understand. Check in when you can, though!
  17. Hey, by any chance do you happen to have all or most of the DLCs? Because that could ease the whole necessity for "Graphic Designer"-type of people. I happen to have all DLCs, FYI--OMG, LOL!
  18. Thanks, for the reply and the compliments. The Cipherbet chart is for 8 distinct alphabets, though, not just one, but yeah, I originally intended it for Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri, but it can be used for unique tribals, so that's a good perception. Now, though I came up with that Dr. von Schmidt story out of nowhere, the X2.1/Y2.1 story was sort of going on in my head since before Fallout 3 and New Vegas; they originated from a story that which I'm unsure is true or false. Again, thanks.
  19. What's the update? Ryuukage0101, are you busy working on the mod, or are you otherwise preoccupied? Not that there's a problem, I just want to know the latest news.
  20. I have an idea for three characters: 1 - Theodoric von Schmidt: He's the creator of the portal (or whatever device used to get to Novi Orbis from Earth), and he introduces the Player to his invention; somehow, though, Theodoric is proven to be evil, perhaps by later attempting to destroy Novi Orbis, and the Player must either join him, or kill him--or perhaps convince him to stop, with a speech check or something. 2 - X2.1: He's a person who is really powerful (has 10 in all SPECIAL and 100 in all skills, etc.), but wishes for all of Novi Orbis to live; he is brother to Y2.1, his alter-ego. 3 - Y2.1: She's a person who is really powerful (has 10 in all SPECIAL and 100 in all skills, etc.), but wishes for all of Novi Orbis to die; she is sister to X2.1, her alter-ego. From there, I've got diddly...for now. EDIT1: I'll attach a "cipher alphabet" eight-set set. To use them, replace the letter with another, like replacing "a" in English with the Martian letter "e", or "b" in English with the Peace letter "p"; in the second chiper-alphabet, "Gaian" or "Jaean" in its own language, the word "brown" would be "Vlovn". This method is ideal for making unique tribals, or perhaps whole countries, without the need for a translator program.
  21. Let's first make sure that we'll have a big 'nough team for it first...for now, it's pretty much just you and *cough*barely*cough* me...so far...yet. And by "just you and *cough*barely*cough* me...", I mean that you're doing better things for this mod than me; and that's sayin' something when I was he be ye--basically, I'm just the idea guy so far. Props to you for your more beneficial role!
  22. Let's first make sure that we'll have a big 'nough team for it first...for now, it's pretty much just you and *cough*barely*cough* me...so far...yet.
  23. You know what? I agree, my map is a little too cramped. Let's just use Ryuukage101's map, instead.
  24. I just can't wait for this to become a reality...if it will. So far, my latest ideas: What if you could register for citizenship in the nation-like factions? It would make the player a part of said faction, but the player could easily cancel said registration. What if you could join a religion faction, much like the previously mentioned "registration for citizenship"? You could get such tasks as "Finding the Holy Lands", or something; also like the citizenship thing, you could "denounce your faith".What if the territories were more barren of sapient life than I'm thinking? Granted, it would make it seem like more of a post-apoc, but the whole "reputation" feature in New Vegas would impede the fruitfulness from "being more natural".What if there was content from Fallout 3? Y'know, like Oasis armor, &c.What if there were repeatable quests that determine ownership of the embassies? That would make the mod feel more re-playable. If you have any ideas, I'd like to hear them!
