  1. Is there anyway to contact him? or direct him to this thread? I'm new here so..
  2. I don't think the issue is these folders. No matter what I set them to, I get the same error. There has to be another reason. And the mods are actually working, they worked with every path I tried. I just get this annoying error everytime. Also, another question. I have 2 mods that conflict, one overwriting the other, which is working fine. But is there no way to dismiss that? The "mods conflicting" notification won't go away. There's no dismiss or fix button. And I know the mod has a part of it conflicting, and as long as I have it correctly on the load order, it should be fine. Is there just no option to choose to overwrite or ignore these conflicts?
  3. I never had it set to my data folder. I literally copied exactly what I had. and I did have it set correctly. But I tried changing them to completely different paths (actually tried it twice) I now have it as: Base: X:\Games\Vortex\SkyrimSE (as you suggested) Download: I:\Vortex Downloads\Skyrim\Downloads Install Path: X:\Vortex\Skyrim\Mods But i STILL get the same error. I even made sure I had full control with permissions of the BlackTree Gaming folder on C. I'm also always running it as admin. What is causing these issues? Failed to deploy mod Error: Source and destination are the same file. at Promise.join.then (C:\Program Files\Black Tree Gaming Ltd\Vortex\resources\app.asar\util\fs.js:98:26) at tryCatcher (C:\Program Files\Black Tree Gaming Ltd\Vortex\resources\app.asar\node_modules\bluebird\js\release\util.js:16:23) at Promise._settlePromiseFromHandler (C:\Program Files\Black Tree Gaming Ltd\Vortex\resources\app.asar\node_modules\bluebird\js\release\promise.js:512:31) at Promise._settlePromise (C:\Program Files\Black Tree Gaming Ltd\Vortex\resources\app.asar\node_modules\bluebird\js\release\promise.js:569:18) at Promise._settlePromise0 (C:\Program Files\Black Tree Gaming Ltd\Vortex\resources\app.asar\node_modules\bluebird\js\release\promise.js:614:10) at Promise._settlePromises (C:\Program Files\Black Tree Gaming Ltd\Vortex\resources\app.asar\node_modules\bluebird\js\release\promise.js:693:18) at Promise._fulfill (C:\Program Files\Black Tree Gaming Ltd\Vortex\resources\app.asar\node_modules\bluebird\js\release\promise.js:638:18) at PromiseArray._resolve (C:\Program Files\Black Tree Gaming Ltd\Vortex\resources\app.asar\node_modules\bluebird\js\release\promise_array.js:126:19) at PromiseArray._promiseFulfilled (C:\Program Files\Black Tree Gaming Ltd\Vortex\resources\app.asar\node_modules\bluebird\js\release\promise_array.js:144:14) at Promise._settlePromise (C:\Program Files\Black Tree Gaming Ltd\Vortex\resources\app.asar\node_modules\bluebird\js\release\promise.js:574:26) at Promise._settlePromise0 (C:\Program Files\Black Tree Gaming Ltd\Vortex\resources\app.asar\node_modules\bluebird\js\release\promise.js:614:10) at Promise._settlePromises (C:\Program Files\Black Tree Gaming Ltd\Vortex\resources\app.asar\node_modules\bluebird\js\release\promise.js:693:18) at Promise._fulfill (C:\Program Files\Black Tree Gaming Ltd\Vortex\resources\app.asar\node_modules\bluebird\js\release\promise.js:638:18) at Promise._settlePromise (C:\Program Files\Black Tree Gaming Ltd\Vortex\resources\app.asar\node_modules\bluebird\js\release\promise.js:582:21) at Promise._settlePromise0 (C:\Program Files\Black Tree Gaming Ltd\Vortex\resources\app.asar\node_modules\bluebird\js\release\promise.js:614:10) at Promise._settlePromises (C:\Program Files\Black Tree Gaming Ltd\Vortex\resources\app.asar\node_modules\bluebird\js\release\promise.js:693:18) should I try downloading the installer where I can move it to another drive or folder besides C:\Program Files ? If I do that, we can't update mods right?
  4. No No, they are on separate drives. Vortex is installed in: "C:\Program Files\Black Tree Gaming Ltd\Vortex\Vortex.exe" Skyrim SE is installed in: X:\Games\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition Base: X:\Games\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\Vortex Download: X:\Games\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\downloads Install: X:\Games\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\mods Did you mean I need to have the last one Install (mods) outside of it? bcuz I only read that the actual Vortex program install needs to be somewhere else. Also, the only thing I've actually entered was the Base. The rest use {base}\downloads and {base}\mods which like 2 different videos said to set it up that way.
  5. I just got SSE and installed Vortex with the normal installer (installed to C drive). It finds my SSE install, I go to mods, make my base/downloads/mods on another drive (ssd) and all seems well. I download mods, but when activating them, I ALWAYS get this Error Failed to Deploy Mods (click on More gets me:) Error: Source and destination are the same file. at Promise.join.then (C:\Program Files\Black Tree Gaming Ltd\Vortex\resources\app.asar\util\fs.js:98:26) at tryCatcher (C:\Program Files\Black Tree Gaming Ltd\Vortex\resources\app.asar\node_modules\bluebird\js\release\util.js:16:23) at Promise._settlePromiseFromHandler (C:\Program Files\Black Tree Gaming Ltd\Vortex\resources\app.asar\node_modules\bluebird\js\release\promise.js:512:31) at Promise._settlePromise (C:\Program Files\Black Tree Gaming Ltd\Vortex\resources\app.asar\node_modules\bluebird\js\release\promise.js:569:18) at Promise._settlePromise0 (C:\Program Files\Black Tree Gaming Ltd\Vortex\resources\app.asar\node_modules\bluebird\js\release\promise.js:614:10) at Promise._settlePromises (C:\Program Files\Black Tree Gaming Ltd\Vortex\resources\app.asar\node_modules\bluebird\js\release\promise.js:693:18) at Promise._fulfill (C:\Program Files\Black Tree Gaming Ltd\Vortex\resources\app.asar\node_modules\bluebird\js\release\promise.js:638:18) at PromiseArray._resolve (C:\Program Files\Black Tree Gaming Ltd\Vortex\resources\app.asar\node_modules\bluebird\js\release\promise_array.js:126:19) at PromiseArray._promiseFulfilled (C:\Program Files\Black Tree Gaming Ltd\Vortex\resources\app.asar\node_modules\bluebird\js\release\promise_array.js:144:14) at Promise._settlePromise (C:\Program Files\Black Tree Gaming Ltd\Vortex\resources\app.asar\node_modules\bluebird\js\release\promise.js:574:26) at Promise._settlePromise0 (C:\Program Files\Black Tree Gaming Ltd\Vortex\resources\app.asar\node_modules\bluebird\js\release\promise.js:614:10) at Promise._settlePromises (C:\Program Files\Black Tree Gaming Ltd\Vortex\resources\app.asar\node_modules\bluebird\js\release\promise.js:693:18) at Promise._fulfill (C:\Program Files\Black Tree Gaming Ltd\Vortex\resources\app.asar\node_modules\bluebird\js\release\promise.js:638:18) at Promise._settlePromise (C:\Program Files\Black Tree Gaming Ltd\Vortex\resources\app.asar\node_modules\bluebird\js\release\promise.js:582:21) at Promise._settlePromise0 (C:\Program Files\Black Tree Gaming Ltd\Vortex\resources\app.asar\node_modules\bluebird\js\release\promise.js:614:10) at Promise._settlePromises (C:\Program Files\Black Tree Gaming Ltd\Vortex\resources\app.asar\node_modules\bluebird\js\release\promise.js:693:18) I tried running the app in admin mode, changed my Base/downloads/mods folders, I get the same issue. The mods seem to activate, at least the .esp files are activated in the Plugins folder. But I'm not sure it's working properly? Why would it be doing this? Any info would be appreciated! Thanks!
  6. I turned off my adblocker for this site so that I would be able help support Nexus in a small way, but I have been forced to re-enable it. I have been getting auto playing ads (audio) which sometimes you can't even see the add. So I have no idea which tab it is coming from. But the worse thing, is that is slows down the loading of pages DRASTICALLY. Like.. unbearably slow. And I have 400Mbps internet. It will also crash my browsers from time to time. I use Chrome and Waterfox (64bit FF) on WIn 10 Pro. Both have the same issues. I would love to disable my adblock again, but not at the expense of being able to actually use the site. I hope you guys are looking into this and what kind of ads are being allowed to run. They should not slow down page loading or run heavy scripts. And especially no auto play. I'll check back again to see if there's been an update on this front
  7. Yea, i read that SKSE now has the memory patch built in, but I wasn't sure if it was enabled by itself? Or if you had to manually enable it in an ini or something. Also, I installed ENBoost and tweaked all my ini files. Set videomemory to 2000 in enblocal. I also replaced the Skyrim 2k HD with the 1K version. So far, its been pretty stable. I've only experienced 1 CTD over the past 3 hours. A definite improvement. However, I can tell the difference between the 1K and 2K textures. II might try the 2K textures again and see if the tweaks I made were enough to keep that in my load order. I also wasn't using any stats monitoring software today, so I need to do that so I can see exactly how much VRAM I'm currently using. Maybe I'll leave the 1K and see if I can add a performance friendly ENB to help with the lighting. I'm not really into the ones that make the game look like I'm in a Mediterranean fantasy world. - I like the look of RealVision and Natural Lighting and Atmospherics. Know of any performance-friendly ENB's that are similar to RV and NLA? Maybe I should go with a SweetFX preset instead? IDK.
  8. Yes, Immersive armors does use a bunch of 2k textures, but they are not all loaded on screen at the same time. I do not run with any followers, so the most I see of that at once is a few bandits. And I have been taking these monitoring stats in areas without people, so it should not be affecting it like this. Plus I've been using that mod for a very long time with no previous issues. Skyrim 2K, yes uses 2k textures as well, and 2GB vram should be plenty fine for that. Now if I was using a TON of 2k texture mods on top of Skyrim 2K HD, it would add up and could affect my vram badly, but as I listed above, I'm not using that many. Also, did you check my PC specs when I listed them above? I'm not sure why you linked the Skyrim specs page as my pc is obviously plenty powerful to run Skyrim. i5 2500k at 4.5Ghz (custom WC loop, 360rad) 16GB Ram (3) Samsung 850 Pro 256GB SSD's (2 in Raid0) (2) GTX 660ti 2GB in SLI And when I unlock the frame limiter, it runs Skyrim (with the mods I listed above) at 80-90 fps at 1080p. So, like I said, it's not that the system isn't powerful enough, I'm just running into the vram issue. So to reask my original question; is there a way to limit the amount of available vram to skyrim? If I can limit it to around 1800MB, it would fix my issues. That way when it does reach that high, it can go over slightly without running out completely. Yes, it will have to swap data out of vram a bit more, but thats better than running out. Is there a way to do this?? Thanks for any suggestions
  9. Hey guys, I came back to Skyrim 2 weeks ago and decided to just to uninstall the game and MO so that I had a clean install. I am not installing a ton of mods, but I'm trying to get it to look decent graphically. The issue I'm having is that it's like no matter what combination of texture mods I use (even performance versions), my Vram is always too high. 1900MB is non-intensive areas, and 2033+ in more intensive areas. I also get stutters when it's trying to swap out info in the ram. So it'll run fine for most areas but then crashes when having to load new areas or intensive areas. I have, of course, installed things like SSME for the memory patch. Reduced AA, tried a TON of different INI tweaks, etc.. The graphical mods I'm running (or have tried) Skyrim 2K HD SMIM Skyrim Flora Overhaul ELFX Water Two Vivid Landscapes ( regular and performance, no longer using) Tamriel Reloaded HD (no longer using) Unique Grasses and Groundcovers (no longer using) I'm also running: Immersive Armors aMidianBorn Book of Silence - Armors, Creatures, Weapons Jaysus Swords Better Males Better Females Quality World Map w/ Roads Ultimate HD Fire Effects Unofficial Legendary Skyrim Patch And that's pretty much it besides SKSE, Skyui, Archery Overhauil, RaceMenu, Inigo, Quickloot, iHUD, Better Dialogue, Imaginator, and all DLC's I am NOT using an ENB preset. I do not even have the ENB files in the Skyrim folder. So, as you can see, I'm not running a lot of mods here. To be honest, I remember modding it much much more heavily in the past with less issues. I know the issue is memory, it's easy to see that. I have the graphical horsepower, but lack the vram PC Specs: i5 2500k @ 4.5Ghz 16GB RAM 3 Samsung 256GB SSD's 2TB WD (2) GTX 660TI's in SLI (2gb) <------issue AX860i PSU CPU is also watercooled with custom 360 rad So it's not a bad PC. I know if I use an ENB, I can set my vram to like 2000 in enblocal (i think). but I'm not using an ENB. Can you use the ENB files without a preset and NOT add anymore vram/gpu usage to the game? Or is there anyway I can limit the amount of Vram the game can use? Like tell it that it only has 1900MB to use so that if it goes over slightly, it won't crash?? Any help would be greatly appreciated here guys. Thanks!
