  1. oh dude. Let me put it in this way for you: I've struggled with the same BS for 1 month straight, from 3 pm to 6 am (with some breaks).

I almost threw my monitor through the window out of rage when i thought i figured it out and boom, black textures, purple people, etc.

enough about my frustrations. Anyway: no, it's not a problem of windows 7. It's not a problem of nvse. (HOWEVER IF YOU RUN FRESH VANILLA AND IT'S STILL BLACK, IT'S LIKELY A GRAPHICS CARD PROBLEM)

I see you have a ENB thing and don't take my word but i heard isolated cases of similar things with PN + ENB. In any case, i only use Nskies + ILO not ENB.

Why i'm so sure it's not a win7 thing? cuz' i have hd 7770, large nmc pack, and 140 load order of a lot of stuffed things i merged together and spent nights making it work properly but it works decently and 30fps which is totally fine by me.

oh and. Use merged patch. And maybe bashed patch. I use both, no issues. So i can stuff my game more and more until i have the perfect setup.

  2. It's a bit outdated but in the nexus there's a FNVEdit training manual, it's pretty good actually. But if it's every now and then...most likely because you have stuffed your load order and data folder with thousands of textures and meshes. I have 30gb worth of mods, lol. Still, if you're familiar with FNVEdit you can create a merged patch (i'm sure you did) but then also a Bashed Patch with Wrye flash for optimizing load order.

  3. Zack, let me put you up to speed:

    - You can use FOMM and NMM along. I use them for different purposes (Fomm for installation, Nmm for downloads, mod count and so on.)

    - I don't recommend you to install ALL mods through FOMM, since (for example AWOP [a world of pain] or EVE [enhanced visuals effects] have various .esp (mods) and only need one of them to run.

A common problem people have is with eve, installing it with FOMM and activating the 3 .esp in them

"eve - all dlc ; eve - no gra : eve - no dlc" and you only need one of them. Therefore there will be a conflict. Make an habit to only install FOMOD archives in fomm, the rest unrar and drop in data folder.

Second: A mod that says "requieres NVSE" this is New Vegas Script Extender, and you need it for a lot of mods, so download it too.

Third: BOSS automatically arranges your load order for best compatibility, FOMM has it but i'm not sure is the lastest version. You can download it at Nexus too.

Fourth: When you have installed a mod and want to start the game but it crashes, it's because you either forgot to activate a file or X reason, for that purpose there's a program (downloadable from Nexus) called "FNVEdit" that detects these conflicts and tells you what you're missing, example "fatal error: X Mod is requiered to function but wasn't found" so you know what you have to do. There's a completely noob-friendly tutorial here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qVKe51dRm2M

Mod limit is 140, or "8B" in hexadecimal numbers..or something like that. After 140 your game will get messed up with all purple people, lands, sky, and lots of red exclamation marks everywhere.

and download new vegas stutter remover from nexus for the stutter problem.

That's all that comes to mind. if you have 4gb ram, download new vegas 4gb enabler so your game can use more ram and be faster. BYE

  4. EVE fnv - you must use only 1 of them, not the three. I'd recommend you to also download FNVEdit for checking conflicts like this one and creating merged patches.

This is a noob - friendly tutorial by Gopher on how to use FnvEdit (download it at the nexus) and creating merged patches (improve stability n'stuff) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qVKe51dRm2M

Edit: for the steam error without mods installed, go to steam and choose verify cache.

  5. Well, what kind of mods have you done before? i don't consider myself a modder, i really suck. But if it helps, i started making Radio stations, functional merged mods and simple retextures. Now i'm going for a companion mod. Maybe you should start there too.

  6. Did you turn invalidation off and on with fomm? most of my texture issues are fixed doing that. I'm assuming you're only using ojo bueno roadways, so i tried that on top of nmc (large) and everything was fine.

Edit: you know, this may sound stupid but, did you change your scale by any way? looking at the picture closely i remember i had poor-quality stuff showing up because i messed up with my player scale.

  7. Maybe something is conflicting with it. Are you using a male body replacer, like breezes or roberts? are you also using mikoto, lings or any other hair and eyes replacer? Have you also checked the "scar" is not a separate race in character creation? checking opening the console and typing "showracemenu"

  8. 139-140. (139+merged patch esp) You can really "Merge" mods by doing this: (WARNING: BACKUP .ESP, AND JUST MERGE VERY SIMPLE THINGS LIKE WEAPONS, OTHERWISE BAD THINGS WILL HAPPEN. MESSED UP TEXTURES AND SUCH)

First open the geck, load only fallout nv master, and save as anything.esp then open FNVEdit, check your new esp plus the ones you want to merge.

Now, right click on everything under "file header" of all the mods you want to merge and "deep override copy" and select into your new esp. do this for all the things:

    example:

    something.esp

    File Header

    Armor

    Quest

    Script

    Worldspace

you right click on all but file header and do what i said. When you're done go to the file header of your new esp and above all masters there's an empty space, right click it and "Delete masters". Just delete the ones you have merged. If your mod also needs masters like the dlcs or pre-order packs leave them there.

    Masters:

    Master

    MAST - Filename FalloutNV

    Master: CLICK HERE

    MAST - filename Weapon1

    Master: AND HERE

    MAST - filename Weapon2

Then save. Now, there's a chance some minor things get messed up like the weapons sounds, leveled list or so. But it's easy to fix if you put some hours in the geck.

There might be better methods, i don't know. This method is the only very-noob friendly i could find, tho. I hope it helps.

  9. yeah it's the resolution. i have a 1360x768 and every time i enter the geck, the forms OK or Cancel button get off screen. Solution? move your start bar to one of the sides by clicking and holding the cursor in the bar and moving it to one of the sides of your screen. (I have windows 7, i don't remember if it works the same on windows xp or 8 or whatever you have.) IT MAY MESS UP YOUR ICONS IF YOU HAVE THEM IN WEIRD POSITIONS. I had to re-arrange mine so it doesn't happen. GL!

  10. First of all your load order is very messy. You have things like EVE - All DLC and then EVE - NO DLC ...you're not supposed to have both of those, just one (i'm aware they're not active, but still). Same with project nevada. Anyway, for your problem, i see 3 and maybe 4 mods that may cause this:

    Run the lucky 38

    The lucky 38 empire

    rePopulated wasteland

I'm pretty sure some of those are conflicting with the trigger. You should find the quest ID of the go talk with mr house quest (that's not its name tho) and if i'm correct the commands are:

Getquestcompleted <- checks if quest is completed

resetquest_(quest ID) <- resets your current quest

    caqs <- completes quest

those are the ones i used long ago, so yeah. Try them.

Also i see you're not using a merged patch. That is essential for avoiding many conflicts! please download FNVEdit and search for merged patch tutorial from Gopher on youtube (noob-friendly guide) on how to make one. GL!

  11. Well, instead of wasting your time telling you to check all the stuff you have probably checked, the only thing that comes to mind is this:

I installed a brand new Radeon hd 7770 not too long ago, so it's still fresh. I'm not sure if you did this, but they clearly say that in order to avoid these conflics you're having, you must first go to your BIOS and there's an option related to "Intel graphics accelerator" you must turn that off and THEN install your graphics card driver. If you've done that, the system shouldn't even mention intel hd 4000 anymore. (so jelly, i have a hd 3000 and it was OP not long ago..)

SO anyways. Remove your graphics card driver, do the BIOS thing and reinstall. That should solve it. No guarantees tho. GL!

EDIT: oh, i'm a noob, i didn't read it was a laptop, i feel stupid now. Well, yes. Like JIP said, can't change GPU in laptop. But while normally people don't update drivers all time, video drivers are important. Somehow my FNV textures were all messed up at the beginning until i updated the driver.

  12. Please be sure to read the readmes from all the mods. For example, WMX says: DO NOT USE

    WMX-EVE-AllDLC.esp
    WMX-EVE-NoDLC.esp
    WMX-EVE-NoGRA.esp
together, just one of them. I'd recommend using WMXUE (Ultimate Edition) along with the respective patches. Also your load order is very messy, i'm pretty sure that's not how Rust Town should come in the order. Also the Eletrocity mods shouldn't be in that order. Please download the BOSS tool from the nexus and use it to automatically arrange your load order. And read the read mes for avoid this in the future. Gl.
  13. I had the same problem. I'll be honest with you, i have no idea what causes it but i solved it this way (I DON'T GUARANTEE IT WILL WORK FOR YOU):

1- i see in your load order you're not using a merged patch. That is essential for stability n' stuff.

What is a merged patch and how to create one by Gopher (it's a noob-friendly tutorial): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qVKe51dRm2M

2- Basically, crashes in new cells happen when the game loads lots of stuff and just collapses. If you're using a HD texture pack this can happen too.

3- A noob solution that helped me a bit is: Uncheck all mods. Load game. Save game. Exit game. Check all mods again. Reload. Sometimes it just works in the save you just used or in your main save. I don't know why.

I hope any of this helps!
