  1. She is the first companion I came across while playing Skyrim first and I've gotten used to her. I try different companions now and then but somehow I always go back to her. Maybe its the Dragonborn's destiny.....who can say what the Divines has Devised.
  2. Somebody please tell me about Wyre Bash and OBSE. Didn't use more than a couple of mods in Skyrim and NMM was enough.
  3. I doubt you can get it from Steam. Steam only has the Game of the year and Game of the year deluxe editions of Oblivion. Both of those come bundled with Shivering Isles. I think you can get a Shivering Isles expansion from Amazon or another software reseller though. Edit: clarification Getting it in a few hours.....one of my chums has it. :teehee:
  4. Can anyone give me the precise location of Mammoth Fossil thingy I keep hearing about? Can't seem to find it. :(
  5. Thanks for the welcome. By the way I didn't download Oblivion, I installed it from a DVD. Do I need Stream Account to download SI?
  6. The Agent of Dibella bonus might give a slight advantage to those playing as females as most of the people you get to kill are males. Still I always play as male - no greater insult to the fairer sex than a woman in heavy armour wielding a great sword. :teehee:
  7. Thanks a lot for the suggestions. Vilja looks good, I'm downloading it now. The Kvatch Rebuilt mod need Shivering Isles and I don't have it. Is it necessary for other mods as well? I was thinking about Darnified UI, Natural Environments and Martigens Monster mod. Anything like the one Hoth Trooper armour mod for Oblivion? I've got a problem of plenty here, just too many mods to research. Any other suggestions for great mods?
  8. Hello, I've recently installed Oblivion.....old game DVD I never installed. Can anyone tell me which patches I should download to the fix the many bugs. Also is there any good mod about rebuilding Kvatch and any companion mods? Exploring in Oblivion feels awfully lonely after having Lydia following me around in Skyrim. :mellow
  9. Yeah, there's nothing wrong with that. If you don't have to worry about who you buy it from there are far more advantages to online retailers than brick n' mortar stores. Even one of the traditional advantages of boxed copies, that being selling it back as a used copy - is slowly being chipped away with publishers like EA packaging content as DLCs (free only for new copies) and Sony patenting systems to ban used games. Used games may be good for consumers, but they are terrible for the industry. When a game is sold used, the retailer gets all the money, the publishers and by extension the developer get's nothing. So I don't see the phasing out of used games as being a problem, I don't think the reduced price is worth shafting the developer. I'm not judging people who buy used, I understand why people would and I have bought used in the past, but I don't like doing it. I don't like the idea of it if that makes any sense. At least with Steam sales Valve doesn't walk away with all of the money, at least not as far as I know. Look, I don't care what you people think but I've always lent my game discs to close friends. I can't keep a game installed indefinitely because hard drive space is always limited and there are just so many games and movies - discs are nice. My friends lend me games too, that way we can all play a few more than we can afford. All this may not be possible some years down the line but until then I can't say "f*** off cheap-skate" to the chaps who've always watched my back through all the adventures (and misadventures) of youth. I understand it is harmful for the industry but one can't be all law abiding and ethical all the time. We are gamers and fanboys - not priests! :teehee:
  10. Just started. Was too busy with shooting stuff back in the day to try it.
  11. Same with me. I've been buying at the same place since Duke Nukem 3D ( now that was a great game).....how time flies man. I'll get boxed copies of games as long as I play games (or as long as they are available) - rather silly some people say but there is a little something called loyalty.
  12. I don't like STREAM. I want my games in boxes and bugs fixed before release. And I also don't like Gaming Consoles much.....good old reliable (and versatile) PC is my thing. Guess that makes a me a old timer.
  13. I agree 100% about the longevity of Skyrim even without all the mods. The story in Skyrim isn't much to speak about and much of the environment and NPC interactions become monotonous later on into the game but its the ability to create varied characters and just run around the beautifully created outdoors that makes it a lot of fun to play for me.
  14. Well I plan on playing a good deal longer too but I don't think I'll touch 1000 hours. Games like Never Winter Nights, Sacred, Knights of the Old Republic are truly immortal (unfortunately the CD's they came in aren't) - brings back so many great memories. :)
  15. Well I think it would have been real nice if there was a big coronation for the new High King/Queen of Skyrim.....soldiers in shiny armour, chicks in fine clothes, flowers, mead, sweet rolls etc. etc. Whiterun and Windhelm should have been reconstructed. They could've made a series of quests for that.....the Dragon Born has enough Septims to buy half the Empire so I makes me angry when I have to put up with two dilapidated towns. :wallbash: I found the leveling system pretty good. I have 100 skill in destruction but no perks so I can't do much damage but I have 100 skill in two-handed and a lot of perks and do a hell of a lot of damage. Killing half-wits and beggars for the Dark Brotherhood seems pretty pathetic to me but that is my personal opinion. Who the hell would want that mad guy at Ivarstead dead? :yucky: I must have killed atleast one dragon (usually much more) at pretty much every town and village in Skyrim and as dragons are a big deal (even for the Nords) I don't think its too much to expect a few statues, songs and free drinks.
  16. I know about ASIMO and all those Japanese stuff but none of them have exactly made it out of the lab. I added the word "reliable" because of their AI and Mobility limitations and the fact that Lithium Ion batteries aren't as good a power source as Soul Gems.
  17. My roof of my home in Whiterun has been on fire since the Battle for Whiterun quest which happened something like 50 hours of gameplay ago. It would've been real nice if the fire got extinguished or the entire house got reduced to ashes by now. :wallbash:
  18. Dwemer metal and Steel are both alloys and the latter is used extensively in Tamriel. Without magic much of Dwemer technology will not function at all. Given the fact that we cannot yet make a reliable robot which can walk on two legs the achievements of the Dwemer in the field of automatons appear incredible.
  19. Until I read this topic I wasn't interested in going back to Skuldafn but I want to go there and want it real bad. :turned:
  20. Invention of Gunpowder. 8) It would be awesome to have something with a big bang ( and lots of smoke) in the game. Maybe something like one of these -
  21. Spells and Magic are well and good but Strength and Steel is the true power in the world. :teehee:
  22. Well last thing I remember clearly before finding myself in bounds riding a cart along with a bunch of barbarians is drinking a few "Void Blaster" cocktails. Can't remember anything about who I am or how I ended up there but must have one awesome trip. Everybody out here seems to want to kill me but I've been lucky so far (Skooma and Mead have played their part too). Don't know what a "Void Blaster" is? Well its the strongest drink in existence.....nobody knows for sure where it originated but I seem to remember a wise soul once telling me (after having had a few "Void Blasters") that the original recipe came from the primordial deity Anu who created it to combat his anti-thesis Padomay. Where did I get the recipe? Well I traded it from a shady and shoddy looking Khaijit trader going by the name of Growlmeowp ' Uss for a couple of sweet rolls. I share it for free - 1) Take 1 tankard of triple distilled Cyrodillic Brandy 2) Add 2 spoon fulls of Moon Sugar (large spoon preferably) 3) Add 10 drop Chaurus poison 4) Add 1 Skeever Tail 5) Add 1 Daedra Heart 6) Add 3 tankards of water from the Sea of Ghosts 7) Filter it through a mixture of Fire Salts, Volcanic Ash from Vardenfell and Bone Meal (bones of Argonians only) 8) Have a hot Altmer Chick cast Frostbite Spell for 10 seconds (will not work if she is not hot) 9) Think about the void, about eternity, of your own (puny) existence in an infinte cosmos.....sip slowly (and carefully)
  23. Fortify Magic Skill I suppose.....dunno for sure. I only used them for the quest. Am a heavy armour and greatsword guy. 8)
  24. Imperial, Orc and Wood Elf.....maybe I'll try Breton sometime.
  25. Mystic Gloves of Tuning. Meh.....I like to go with Falmer Armour.....makes things interesting. :teehee:
