  1. I was talking about the Vanilla version. You are right about the mods (thank the 8 divines for mods and their makers). I differ about the merchants thing, yes in small places like Riverwood the amount of gold the merchant has makes sense but in a trade hub like Whiterun or port like Solitude it doesn't makes sense. Also you'd expect people selling items worth 3-4k Septims to have a few thousand Septims right? They do sell some stuff to other people too I suppose - there is a freaking Civil War, random Dragon attacks and as you said it is a dangerous place. If weapons don't get sold in Skyrim I don't know where they will. :P  :teehee:
  2. Been doing some research (Skyrim is my first experience with Elder Scrolls) and here is what I've found - "In Oblivion, the blood needed to open the portal to Mankar Camoran's Paradise was a blood of a divine. The blood used was from Tiber Septim's armor, the only known exisiting Divine artifact, which implies that Tiber Septim indeed became a god. The fact that Talos isn't present in Sovngarde and that Shrines of Talos and Amulets of Talos have legitimate effects implies that Talos is in fact a god." - The Elder Scrolls Wiki Now the Thalmor deny that he is a God but the evidence is clearly against they position. The Thalmors aren't idiots and there position on this point leaves only one conclusion - it is a plot to weaken the Empire so that they can rule over it and the Nords have fallen for it. Banning the worship of Talos isn't the end towards which the Thalmor have been working, it is simply a means to weaken the Empire from within. While the Empire is busy with internal conflict the Thalmor have been (probably) preparing for another invasion. Its just a game but if you do want to pick sides based on something more that personal whim consider the following - Ulfric's vision of Skyrim (same as Hitler's vision of Germany) doesn't necessarily mean they will be able to match the Thalmor army. Without trade with the Empie and given their lack of magic skills they will prove to be easy targets. Ulfric is a charismatic leader, a true Nord warrior but he is not 'Ysmir, Dragon of the North', he is too biased and short-sighted to go all the way. A unified Empire is the best hope against the Thalmor as things stand now.
  3. Skyrim is a great game and a excellent way to while away those idle hours but the developers got some simple things wrong. 1) Why are all the people so lightly clad? I mean Nords are resistant to cold but not immune. Many of the non-Nord NPCs too seem to not mind the cold at all even in places like Dawnguard and Windhelm where is freaking snows all the time. 2) Why do most people keep such late hours? You can find people wandering the streets or in the taverns at 2 am, at 3 am, at 4am.....!!!!! Don't they need to sleep? 3) The game is bit too hard at low levels and exploring in nearly suicidal at times. At high levels with a few perks, crafting and enchanting skills the game is a bit too easy - exploring now becomes boring. 4) Why the hell can't we make arrows? We can make Daedric Armour (stuff that other dimensional beings wear) and we can't make a few iron arrows!!!!! 5) Why do the merchants have so little gold? Without investing atleast 6 perks in Speech playing is rather annoying. The merchants should have a bit more gold as the game progresses.
  4. Hammerfell is at war with the Altmeri Dominion? Where did you come by that piece of information? Any books or NPCs in the game reveals that?
  5. All hail Mjoll the Lioness (without the boyfriend)!
  6. Nothing you can do about it except to part with your hard-earned dollars/pounds/euros and buy it for PC. Don't think I'm unfeeling, I'm not but not getting to play Halo 3 and Halo 4 on PC makes me a bit bitter sometimes.
  7. I'd like to wear a Horker skin as a mantle. Something like Stormcloak Officers Helmet. Is there any mod for that already?
  8. Good to meet a Space Marine Brother in such a distant and obscure nook of the Galaxy. Here to perform an Exterminatus or just Chilling?
  9. "It's the other way around. Lydia can die, Mjoll can't." That's not right, they are both immortal. Friendly fire is the only thing that can kill them as far as I've found out.
  10. Adolf Hitler, Saddam Hussain, Muammar al-Gaddafi, Bashar al-Assad, George W Bush, Ulfric Stormcloak etc. etc. are all in the same league. They seek to change the world (without knowing what is wrong with it), create hatred where there was none, bring strife where was peace and just about mess everything up and leave others to clean it up. Support the Stormcloaks? Do all the Nords follow Ulfric's banner? No and quite a fair number serve in the Imperial Legions. Yes the Thalmor need to be dealt with but Nords can't do it by themselves. Why the heck are they so fanatic about Talos? As if 8 Gods weren't enough!!!!! :wallbash: So the Imperials aren't the most polite guy but hey neither was Winston Churchill. Join the Imperial Legion or stay neutral. We shall go on to the end. We shall fight in Skyrim, we shall fight on the seas and oceans, we shall defend the Empire, whatever the cost may be. We shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender
  11. No quarreling guys. I asked for all options and mods are an option.
  12. Well you can kill the guy quietly and not bother with mods but since I'm so fond of Lydia I didn't bother. The Lioness is immortal and good with an axe.....you should take away her sword though.
  13. Mjoll the Lioness brings her boyfriend along and that's going to spoil you "all girl" party. :D Also she quits after he dies - definitely not very professional of her.
  14. I haven't done the Civil War Quest either. I was going to join the Storm Cloaks because the Empire tried to kill me. Meeting Brunwulf Free Winter and Madanach changed all that. Don't like the idea of joining the Empire (even though my character is an Imperial) because they lack a spine, I mean they let the Thalmor roam around the countryside picking up people for interrogation. No self respecting nation ought to do that. I have half a mind to chop everyone Storm Cloaks, Legionaries, Thalmors to pieces with my axe and becoming the Emperor of Tamriel. Wish I could create an army (with Lydia as my general) and invade Akavir.
  15. Thanks again. Is it compatible with Dawnguard?
  16. I've been playing mostly as a barbarian in heavy armour and two handed weapon but I've been upgrading other skills too to keeping leveling so I guess I can help you a bit. I guess you know already that Conjuration and Alteration aren't exactly offensive skills though a Dremora Lord or Dead Thrall you summon will do plenty of damage. How you are planning to survive the initial phase? Also summoned creatures and thralls (specially thralls) are not exactly reliable. Without adequate armour and health life can be pretty tough in Skyrim.
  17. Thanks a lot mate. I'll try out the one which adds tough enemies. With heavy armour and a two handed legendary glass axe with double enchantment I'm feeling a bit let down by the lack of tough opposition. I've attached the image this time. Thanks a lot again.
  18. Interesting! While you won't be Godlike playing that way I suppose being practically invulnerable gets boring after a while. Investing in speech is absolutely essential because traders carry so little gold. Maybe you should get yourself a Foresworn bow; a tough Nord adventurer like yourself will have met and defeated quite a few of these rebels in her adventures.
  19. Hello everyone. I've returned to the RPG genre after a long time (Neverwinter Nights was the last) and Skyrim is my first experience with Betheda. Nearly went mad with the crafting weapons and armour options, getting followers and the "no clear good or evil side" of the main storyline. However the looks of some of the armour types left me a bit disappointed but I guess I can live with that. Not getting to wear both helmet and circlet made me angry but a Falmer helmet I took for fun solved that problem. Everything was okay until I noticed the headgear worn by Ulfric's loud mouthed bodyguard. Now I just have to get myself one of those but they can't be crafted, brought or looted as far as I know. Can't think of anything else while playing. :( :wallbash: >:( :verymad: :( Is there anyway to get myself one of those or maybe a horker or troll or saber cat heargear? I've seen the ones with deer antlers thingy but don't fancy them. Need help guys.....am real desperate. Anything.....cheats, updates, mods.....gimme something...please please please. Wanna look like this (in a way) - Fallen Angels Hope the link works.
