So, you wanted to see how Skyrim with over 500 mods looks like?
Esteris replied to mindw0rk2's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
So jelly! :D Do you have an easy way to show us which mods were used? I'm really curious :) -
Greenie looking for kind someone to help order mods & avoid mess
Esteris replied to Esteris's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
The vid series would be very nice, but they seem to touch on the basicest basics (from what I've seen  ). Since those are similar to how Oblivion worked, I know all this stuff. What I worry about is concrete load order, creating the Bashed Patch, and smartly cleaning the plugins (which of the mods I have should be cleaned, and which left be despite BOSS notes). And I'm going to use the Requiem overhaul - I've downloaded a multitude of patches, but I've mods on the list that those patches don't cover, and I'm not sure what to do about them. Are they compatible? Should I load them after Requiem or before? What is that "merge patch" thing done by Tes5Edit, and why? I've seen it mentioned, but never explained in conjunction to Wrye Bash. Does the graphical ENB mod conflict with other things? I've also got the Hialgo thing, I've configured it before getting any ENBs, is it okay? Can I add visual mods later on, and continue with my save game? Do they conflict with patches, or overhauls like Requiem? Confus :< -
But that's my point exactly - the brat won't react to it, nobody else will, and so I won't feel the satisfaction :P If a mod added a spell to change kids to falmers, and then the kid would piss his/her pants and promise to be good, I'm all for it.

Hello there, After a long time of waiting, I can finally start to mod my game and play it. But since I wasn't following the scene actively (aside of voicing this or that <Viridiane, on the off-chance someone recognizes the handle>), I'm feeling pretty lost. Sob story ahead: Normally, I'd jump right into the fray, but I've had experience with modding Oblivion, and what a long and painful experience it was xD After long battles, just when I thought I won, there were no more question marks, no more black grounds, no more stuck things, or CTDs, or... you know, evil stuff... I have used every software there was: BOSS, Wrye Bash, something to clean .esps I don't remember the name of anymore (or was it one of those?). I've been merging, cleansing, testing, and in the end... I got a treacherous pile of poo - since it all seemed to be working, I did a dance of victory, but then that poo snuck up on me. It turned out that the game wouldn't refresh anything. Days, months, nothing. Picked herbs stayed picked, dead bodies never disappeared, any item thrown would stay there idefinitely... which would inevitably lead to some sort of savegame bloat and explosion. I gave up. That was the last I tried. And I seriously want to avoid that experience here. End of sob story. So I thought this time, I'd ask: is there someone experienced in the way of load orders/compability/patches and all of those goodies, who would take a look at the list of mods I've picked (around 120 of them, I fear... still better than my 255+ for Oblivion, but yeah, no, I cannot control myself, alright), and who could tell me what I have to lose and why, what is buggy, what will be troublesome. What sucks. What conflicts. Where do official DLCs come in, do I need them for X Y or Z. And all that. You know, hand-hold the baby. And - why not - recommend whatever they love and I might've missed :) Thanks a lot in advance. Peace.

Absolutely! +1 I'd love if it had some dialogue though :) You know, since it's the Dragonborn and dragons around, he should have something to say :D

Hey hey, Some of the kids in the game are absolutely unbearable and rude. And yet there's nothing I can do about it. I'd love to have an immersive way of scolding them. Make the brat cry and apologize, then stop being rude. I don't want to punch or kill them, since that's not really what I'd do, and it gives no satisfaction when there are no reactions to what was done :) Cheers!

I realize that few people care, but I just gotta share. And rant a little. If someone will be so nice and read through these, maybe you could recommend me some other game to play that I have a chance of liking? I CRAVE RPGs suddenly :D Mind you, I've heard that DA:O was a successor to Baldur's Gate, so that's what I'll be comparing it too! PROS: 1. Quests. Majority of the spoken quests (those not from bags/boards) got me hooked. I actually WANTED to do them and see what comes off them. I wanted to make those people happy. 2. Characters. I liked them. I think they could've had more interactions, but in general I really enjoyed having them around. 3. Setting. Aside of it being fantasy (which is my gross preference, I hate space-based games), the world was interesting and had a big potential. While I'm not a lore-geek and I didn't read all those codex entries and stuff, what I learned from quests and my companions talking was interesting. 4. The ending. I really liked that a) I could get a fully happy ending (! I don't play games and work hard to save every damn kitten on a tree to cry afterwards, that's what movies are for) b) it even mentioned the smaller quests I completed before! And the choices I made. Very neat. 5. Combat. Tactics. I loved that I had to use tactics to win some encounters. I like to think while playing the game. 6. Visuals and audio. Music, voice acting, sounds and the art, I liked them all. Very pleasant to look at/hear. 7. Level of realism. Most of the time everything was pretty believable. Not too sweet, not too bitter, just enough to make me care and not feel like the game was cut down to meet PEGI 12+. 8. My character. a) I loved the origins. Great idea. I had to start the game again after completing them (and a tiny bit of Warden's keep) for a reason and I didn't mind at all because I chose a different origin and enjoyed it once again. I loved that I could go back to the alienage and meet the guys I already knew. Or argue my case as an elf later. Etc. b) I liked choosing my face. And race. I heard in DA2 you don't get to choose a race and have to play a boring human. Not amused. 9. Cameras. The two kinds of cameras were a great choice! At first I wondered what for the zoomed out one was, but then I sooo understood it :) Very nice. 10. Animations in dialogues. 11. DIalogues. I liked how I had different ways to respond and it evoked reactions. I liked that sometimes I didn't know what to say and results surprised me :) 12. Romances. I liked that there were options to pick from. Pretty sweet, but I'd say they were also a little bit insufficient. Just not enough talk, not enough development. Again, I'll direct your eyes to Baldur's Gate 2, although they too, made some mistakes, of course (too soon ended after PC slept with their chosen one), they still just felt fuller. CONS: (some are just small irking things, but well they IRKED me) 1. Character development. There was something highly unrewarding about it. I didn't look forward leveling up, not at all. If it happened, it happened. I didn't have a sense of purpose in it. Hard quests I'd be waiting to complete at higher level. Some attribute-caps that I'd like to achieve (though it was 30, then 36, then I understood it doesn't have any and any sense of completion threw out of the window for me). It just seemed all the same, if I had 30 or 35, whatever. 2. Inventory. I didn't like it. At all. I couldn't even put the items in respective characters' inventories to maintain some kind of order. I couldn't position them as I'd like. Not to mention I couldn't organize the items, play inventory tetris or anything. They stripped me off something I love in games ;< And they took every last bit of it away. 3. Loot and items. a) after really tough fights often all I got was an herb and some generic gear that I could sell for 15 silver. Highly unrewarding. b) Absolutely no choice in items. Really, there was just 1 item for weapon or chest at any given level, no interesting rings, hats, necklaces. Generally it was very poor. I don't mean throw enchanted gear everywhere around if that's not the convention, but if the quest is long or the fight is hard, and the gear IS in the game, for fathers' sake, give me some. I had no incentive to do those board quests because I knew I'd just get 2 gold. Flemeth's treasure anyone? Idk, I found nothing there in the hut but an armor for Morrigan. c) Visuals. I really hoped I'd find some cool items to make my drab-looking characters into something awesome. Slowly but surely. Meanwhile no. They looked pretty much the same level of crap (or same level of awesome in Morrigan's case) throughout the game. 4. Level of realism. Yes, a pro and a con at the same time. While many a time I was positively surprised at it, I can't forget that ambassador quest... Just no. I go in prince's palace, open ambassador's door, he doesn't talk to me, ask me, nothing, just attacks and after he and his 10 bodyguards are dead, nothing happens. No questions, no notice. Logic levels 0. 5. Music. Primary irk and the least important con: I absolutely hated that even if I chose a simple interaction such as HUG, suddenly the music changed and angels sang songs about eternal beauty and holiness. No, just no. It irked me during romance bed scenes as well, but with hug it was a huge overkill. Small, silly issue, and yet I didn't use these interactions to avoid this. Hug is a hug, embrace and that's it. No need for glory lol. 6. World size. People tend to praise DAO for a huge world. Where? Where was it huge? There was hardly any bigger location (that was not 1 clearing) that was not directly connected to the main plot. May I remind you the Cities in Skyrim/Oblivion? Great city of Athkatla? Followed by - completely unrelated to the plot! - Tradesmeet, Windspear Hills, D'Arnise Keep, Druidic Grove and not to mention areas from BG1? 7. Rushing me. It's a direct consequence of 6. I felt the game had a fast pace. I don't say it's bad - it's not - I say *I* didn't like it. I like to immerse myself in the game. In Skyrim, until my disc had to be formatted (go figure, just when I got it!), I did some main plot, then I went to do some thieves guild, then I played a mage a little, then went on to discover altars, then I bought a house, then then then. In BG2 (cause 1 was even more loose there) I got to Gaelan, then I frolicked around the city looking for various cool quests. I explored sewers, found hidden liches, got my ass kicked, did some useful quest then proceeded to explore and rob houses. All the while knowing I had a clear and important purpose, but also having a ton of fun, just... living in that world. 8. Companion gifts. Oh, I hated the idea. I mean, not the PERSONALIZED gifts, those were awesome. I mean those buy-and-give ones that played a voice line and bumped the approval. It felt so fake. 9. Crafting. Needless. I didn't feel the need to craft anything. It wasn't rewarding (couldn't earn money on it really). I couldn't make herb expeditions to gather the ingredients (because of 6). Just felt kinda meh. I ended the game with 20 or so slots inventory taken by the ingredients and nothing fun to do with them. <ahhh, I feel so much better now :D> So, do you know of a game that would make me happy now? :D:D <doubtful ;< I feel like https://encrypted-tbn2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRPqnrHDwOpsJRGmWKs8vbAnA5QOAxP3WxOUugYB_S6dBl9Gnph this meme guy after looking at ma post :D >

Immersive and profoundly interesting follower.
Esteris replied to Tooldealer's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Have you tried this: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/8429 ? It offers more than 1 extensive NPC and those so-called "super followers" (list in the readme) can reach over 1000 lines of dialogue. Quest and location commentary etc. What I'm waiting for myself is a romanceable follower that will actually have a more Bioware-style romance going on :3 As in, events will push it forth, some player-initiated talks, some NPC-initiated ones. Some mystery in their past. Erh x) I think Atvir may be it, but I wait till he's fully complete. -
I actually heard so much bad about it, I thought I would just play DA 1? Or is the plot continuing? I've also heard that even though annoying, DA2 is still worth playing for the characters. I'm torn. Are there mods that make it worth playing or should I just go read spoilers after DA1 and spare myself an obvious pain? xP

Thanks a lot. Though I'm highly not amused at my luck :D Wait 2 years then the exact day and exact hour that I need these things, kaboom! :D It's like the universe was trying to tell me something. Just not sure what. Good luck with repairs.

Hi, I've finally bought myself a copy of the DA and I wanted to download some mods, but after I got 2 the Nexus died and hasn't been back for hours. Is this some scheduled maintenance or some serious problem?
-
This is the biggest bane of all the indie projects and game mods. Though it goes both ways - many times people will deliver their part - be it some art, sounds, voice, text, anything, and the project creator/leader will not ever complete his thing and everything goes to waste.

Hey Sirun, last post in this thread was from April 2012. Things have most likely changed a LOT for everyone who spoke here. I'd advise you look around newer threads around here and the Bethesda forums and post your offer in the threads of mods that are being developed currently and are in need of voicing :)
-
Take a look at this: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/8429 It adds colorful NPCs all over Skyrim.

Hey, let me give you some links. First, there's a TES VAP (make an archive, browse the requests at your leisure): http://tesalliance.org/forums/index.php?/forum/74-voice-actors-project/ Then you have Beth official forums on which many modders post, it wouldn't hurt to ask some if they need a voice-over: http://forums.bethsoft.com/forum/183-skyrim-mods/ Then there's an ever-living mod (but usually looking for females more) that tends to need voice actors a lot: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/8429 And a word of advice/experience: posting a thread such as this one on Nexus will not yield too many results as it will simply get buried quickly :)

Naah, she's a good girl and not very chatty. I was more concerned about any IP-checks on accounts than her behavior ^^ Glad it won't be an issue. Have a good day there.
-
Not sure this is a place to post, but seems like one of the better options. Anyway, a friend of mine got banned here recently because of using double accounts, so I thought I'll come forward and explain my "issue" before either of us is banned as well :D My sister and I share this computer and while I'm here definitely more often, she sometimes drops by since she started to play Skyrim. Obviously we will not share an account, I hope that's understandable. But don't ban us, we behave nicely :)

I see. Well that at least sheds a tinkle or logic on the whole thing, but I still find it plan retarded. It's a non-profit mod that will likely be completely different from the game. My question is though: do they have rights to the book and the story as well (I honestly dare to doubt it and will keep on doubting until someone proves otherwise ;o)? Or just the imagery of the movies?
-
Why would they ever care for a MOD FOR A GAME being based on Tolkien of all things? And so I think a public-owned story now? Unless I'm wrong. Or even if it related to their movie? No assets are used, no money is being made of it, ever. What is going on here? Why bother people with such things and deny FANS something awesome to get? ._. There is not even a way this could in any way whatsoever diminish WB profits. I don't get it.

Looking for parody pic of carrying too much...
Esteris replied to MasterZH's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Oh haha :D Priceless! That is just SO me! -
Sorry to be a little party pooper, but there has been awesome threads with resources and showcases of people's work around here and all of them simply got buried sooner or later. There is one place you may find to your liking though: http://tesalliance.org/forums/index.php?/forum/74-voice-actors-project/ That's a permanent showcase of voice actors interested in TES that doesn't get buried under spam :)

Are there any good player race mods yet? Or at least in development? :) I remember there were some really cool ones for Oblivion. My favorite being Ainmhi race, they were small [i don''t like my characters bulky :P], had a good facial template that allowed for creating pretty Ainmhis, had a shitload of eye color variants to pick from and worked with Ren's hair. And also had a tail. Just win.

Are you planning on adding a further character list for VAs in the near future? :)
