If you don't like jarring, just avoid the nightclub-esque locations. They make logical sense insofar as, "Why has no one rebuilt some crap in all these years?" but they also do not quite fit the retro 50's vibe in terms of the music/lighting. That said, you don't need to interact with them much if at all. The only other thing with Project Valkyrie and it's companion mods(Which only Outcasts and Remnants would be required, as Outcasts and Remnants is a master to both Project Valkyrie and Depravity, and Fusion City Rising stands on its own, not needing nor required by any of the others) that would be likely jarring is some of the companions will take cracks at oversights and weird quirks of Bethesda games. "Did the nuclear apocalypse destroy all the bathrooms in Boston? Why do so few houses HAVE bathrooms anymore?" comments like that. Or, "Did the Commonwealth get smaller? It used to take hours to drive this far, now we can run it in about the same time..." etc... Edit: Most of the more 'bizarre' things are one-off jokes that can mostly be shrugged off, in my opinion. That said, I don't know what your threshold for 'too bizarre, I'm out!" is. Personally, Fusion City Rising, Outcasts and Remnants, Project Valkyrie and Depravity are staples for me to include in any Fallout 4 experience at this point due to giving new methods of handling old quests while not removing them, while making things seem rather internally consistent with itself and for the most part with Fallout itself. I say for the most part because people can argue what fits and what doesn't for years. Also; Thuggysmurf's documentation is some of the most thorough and useful for troubleshooting issues I've encountered, and if that fails, the Project Valkyrie Discord channel is active on a near daily basis(some days are slower than others but there's a fair few of us on at multiple times of day) which grants the opportunity for more efficient real-time troubleshooting of some issues.
