  1. Did you find a solution for this? I have the same bloody issue :D Like chimneys, trashcans, cigarette machines popping in out of nowhere... I have the game on a Samsung 860 EVO 1TB SSD, RTX 3070, i7 10700k and 2x8GB 3600mhz RAM so I am fairly sure PC power is not the issue here...
  2. Hi all, so I am trying to regenerated my LODs with FO4LodGen and I have the following questions: There is this forum post with a bunch of supplementary .esp files improving LOD generation, however I wonder which ones should/can I use if I already have Tree LODs pregenerated? (I use Boston Natural Surroundings Trees Only with Pine Trees Redone pregenerated LOD). Also there is now a whole new "Terrain LOD" section for FO4Lodgen which is missing from all the guides out there (back then there was only Objects LOD generation possible). How does this work? Are there any prerequisites? How does it work together with FAR - Faraway Area Reform and WET - Water Enhancement Textures? I'd appreciate any help on these!
  3. Hi, So I tried to pack up my loose textures and load them with a dummy .esp, but they just won't load! Super annoyed at this point. Here's what I did: - Added all loose textures to the folder /ZZ_MyTextures_Merge/textures and /ZZ_MyTextures_Merge/meshes - Packed all the meshes and textures in the folder ZZ_MyTextures_Merge into BSAs (six in total), named the following: ZZ_MyTextures_Merge - Textures1.bsa ... and so on with Cathedral Asset Optimizer (also tried Archive.exe that came with CK, it just created a single 12gb .bsa file that just crashed my game...) - Opened the Creation Kit and saved a .esp with the name ZZ_MyTextures_Merge.esp - Moved the bsas and the .esp to the Data folder and activated the .esp - My Skyrim game loads, I can load a save but none of the textures are loading... What am I doing wrong? Do I have to associate the .bsa files with the .esp I created somehow? Please help!
  4. Can someone help me please? How do I create a patch that renames a weapon added by a mod in FO4Edit without messing up anything and keeping AWKCR compatibility, modifications, uniques etc intact?
  5. I am just wondering why literally all Fallout 4 overhauls (like Horizon, Unbogus etc) basically prevent using any custom weapon or armor mods unless you would want to use hundreds of various quality/likely outdated patches? I mean there was Project Nevada, Wanderers Edition worked out of the box, and worked well with any weapons or equipment added to the game. For Skyrim Skyre was a compatibility nightmare, but still played more nice with custom mods than Horizon for example. I am not bashing Fallout 4 Modders, I just wonder if this is due to how the game itself is or is it just a new trend in modding gameplay overhauls?
  6. Hi, I am trying to make a patch for Super Mutants Redux where I remove all Nightkin from spawning in the game. Now I could delete the NPC entries from the mod itself, but I want to create a separate esp, a patch that overrides the base mod's NPC entries to prevent the Nightkin from spawning. Can anyone explain, perhaps step-by step how to do this in FO4Edit? I'd really appreciate the help!
  7. I was wondering if we could start a community-driven fundraiser for Chesko, isoku, SkyUI team etc just to show them that we really do appreciate their work and we are sorry for all the insults and threats they have received. I am really happy that Valve has removed paid mod support, but I kinda feel bad for all the great modders out there who got hyped up and were hoping for some (financial) appreciation for their work. It could be just a nominal amount per person (around $5) everyone could pledge and if there are enough people offering money we could donate it together to the mod creators as a thank you. Donation instead of paywalls. I think somebody with more credit in the community could organize something like this.
  8. I'd like to remove all leveled list (vendors/enemies/loot etc) edits from a mod (SkyRe). I am really a newbie with the Creation Kit and I have no idea how to do it. Here's what the mod author told me: "Clean all edits on leveled lists, and all edits that relate to them." Please help!
  9. Haha not even remotely close I'm afraid. I'm not talking about a needs mod or a mod that simply displays temperature.
  10. Hi guys, I'm just wondering if anyone had the idea of a Hyperthermia mod for New Vegas. It would add a great deal of realism to the game. Its really not immersive that you can simply walk in the hot desert exposed to the sun continuously. You should feel increased thirst, decreased speed, and later heat stroke and hallucinations. Players should be trying to keep hydrated and seek cover from the sun. Carrying tons of equipments out in the direct sunlight should make you get tired and heated faster. You shouldn't be able to cross the Nevada Desert in a few days with ease, there also should be sandstorms. In the other hand nights in the desert should be deadly cold I was a great fan of Frostfall Hypothermia Camping Survival: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/11163/? I'd love to see something similar in NV. In NV being in the desert is like a casual walk in the park, a sunday trip with kids (except the giant claws of death of course). In Skyrim I had to think ahead, plan my steps before taking a journey from A to B, have suitable things to wear, enough food a drink, tools to make a camp etc. In NV I use Project Nevada Extra Options and I crank up the thirst multiplier really high so dehydration is a real risk, it already adds tons of realism to my game. Anyway I just thought I'll share the idea, see what others think.
  11. Hey guys, I'd like to ask for some help with using/installing the two mods New Vegas Redesigned (formerly Project Beauty) and Beware of Girl Type 3 body replacer. I just can't get these two mods to work together, I get white/discolored faces and HUGE neckseams. Does anybody have some specific up-to-date instructions how to install the two mods (which one to install first, which files to replace etc.) Here's my current method: 1. I install archiveinvalidation as it's instructed within the "Directions" included in Project Beauty. (yes I edit the [archive] section, I edit the bLoadFaceEGTFiles=0 to 1 in all three .ini files and I also copy the ArchiveInvalidation!.bsa to the Data folder. 2. I install Project Beauty (no I didn't forget to copy the files within the data folder) 3. I install Type3 female body (and I let it replace when it prompts) I also tried the other way around with no success (Type3 first then PB second and replace when it's prompted.) I think I gave a detailed description of my problem. This is my third playthrough of NV and I just tried to ignore the issue, but now I'm fed up and I really want to fix it, any help would be greatly appreciated! Also here are two screenshots, this is how my NPCs look like at the moment: http://i39.tinypic.com/2hoz0ic.jpg http://i44.tinypic.com/2hzoeue.jpg
  12. I reported the issue on the UUFP modpage, another user pointed out that it's a compatibility issue with FWE, I hope it's gonna be fixed. I also reported the issue with Clear Cell Buffers on NMC's modpage, although it's not something that can be fixed.
  13. Hi guys, Today I've ran into two really annoying and game-breaking bugs while playing through the (modded) Fallout 3 DLCs. I spent a lot of time trying to figure out how to fix them, so I thought I might as well post it here so others will not have to go through the same headache. First of all: !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!SPOILERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bug 1. The Pitt Problem: Can't enter the Arena (or The Hole) at the end of the quest "Unsafe Working conditions. It says that it "Requires a key" Solution: If you use the mod Unofficial Fallout 3 Patch or Updated Unofficial Fallout 3 Patch (I use the latter) then disable it and fire up your game without it. (if you use a merged patch don't forget to re-create it otherwise your game will crash on startup). Also you should replace your Fallout 3 and Fallout Launcher .exe files with the original ones. (just delete it and let Steam re-download them for you), if you use the 3gb enabler then don't forget to add the 3gb flag to the executables again. (credit: some random forum I don't remember) Edit: as polbashkisneslo pointed out it might be a compatibility issue with UUFP and FWE. Bug 2. Mothership Zeta Problem: after being "beamed up to the spaceship" there's a cutscene with a bunch of aliens who are attempting a surgery on you, the cutscene freezes halfway and you are unable to proceed and remain stuck in the cutscene. (even when the scene freezes one of the aliens appears to be moving, but in a glitched looped way so if nothing happens in around 5 seconds it's very likely that the dlc is glitched) Solution: Do you use Purge Cell Buffers or NMC's Clear Cell Buffers plugin? The solution is very simple: disable it! The cutscene should proceed just fine. (credit: fallout wiki bugs section) Thats it, I hope It helped! Side note: Although both the Unofficial Fallout Patch and Clear Cell Buffers are useful and great mods, I'm not sure if I will carry on using them. I don't find it acceptable that a mod completely glitches a game and renders it unplayable. Mind you though that it might not be those mods but another mod conflicting with them in my lengthy load order. All I want to say that be cautious using them. Side note 2: Sorry for my crappy English, I'm not a native speaker.
  14. Okay here's my experience so far: My base fps was around 30-40 outdoors, 38-52 in cities dropping to 29-35 when loading NPC's (Oblivion fully maxed with HDR, 2xAA, 4xAF) FPS after installing Lowpoly grass, Quiet Feet (I have a laptop), Unofficial Patches and 4gb patch: 35-45 outdoors, 50-70 in cities, 35-40 when a lot of NPC's are on screen (I always add mods to my game in small groups for easier troubleshooting and it's still faster than installing-testing one-by one.) Texture packs, I always use a mixture of several texture packs both in Skyrim and Oblivion. I also avoid higher textures than 1024x1024 as I don't see much difference and with 2k texture packs the stuttering can be quite severe (I have 1gb vram) Textures I installed: QTP3, QTP3 optimized meshes, AmpolX textures, Insanity's Texture Pack, Shivering Isles Texture pack, Vibrant Texture Pack, Grass Overhaul, Really Textured Vanilla Normalmaps, Weapon Improvement Project, Ammo and Equipment Retexture, Otup Armor Retexture, NBB Ayleid Ruins Replacer. FPS Hit: 0-2 maybe, I did not get an fps hit at all. I'd recommend using this tool: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/12801/? to resize textures larger than 1024x1024 and optimize them. Trust me you won't see any difference, especially on smaller monitors and it's still going to be a HUGE improvement over Oblivion's default textures. Beware though NEVER optimize face/skin and body replacers! It just doesn't work. Mods I installed and had effect on my FPS: All Natural: 3-5 FPS hit especially in fog/rain Animated Window Lighting: 2-4 FPS hit and some script lag when loading new cells. Unique Landscapes: 6-10 FPS hit outdoors especially when Tree Canopy/Grass Shadows are enabled and Water Reflections are set to high. Glowing Wonders: 1-3 FPS hit around Doomstones and Ayleid Ruins. Oblivion Character Overhaul: 5-8 FPS hit when a lot of NPC's are on screen Robert's Female/Male body replacer: 0-1 FPS hit when a lot of NPC's are on screen Mods with no FPS hit whatsoever: Knights of the Nine Revelations The Lost Spires Alternate Start- Arrive by Ship Symphony of Violence UI mods like: Display Stats, Toggleable Prompt Remover, HUD Displays, Map Marker Overhaul With this setup I've lost around 8-15 FPS in the wilds, 5-8 FPS in cities. Next I'm going to try some mods which are certain to butcher my FPS: Oblivion XP, Better Cities, Cobl, Portable Campsite and Basic Primary Needs, that's pretty much going to be it as I don't want more mods or major overhauls as I have played Oblivion around six years ago so the vanilla experience is still going to be new for me. If anyone is wondering the specs of my laptop are: Intel i3 3110m 2.4 Ghz, Nvidia GT620m 1Gb VRAM, 6Gb RAM. (pretty low-end haha) Nvidia Control Panel settings: 4xAF (Quality Filtering, Trilinear Optimization) 2xAA My in-game settings: 1366x768 Resolution HDR Every Slider on max All the shadows turned on Shadow Filtering on High Every Water detail on High
  15. True, I got pretty good at modding Skyrim and when I started to do Oblivion I had to realize that I should cut back on different mods while other mods are alright. In Skyrim I was mostly avoiding texture packs, flora overhauls and script intensive mods, but mods adding more NPCs or spicing up towns and cities were perfectly fine. In Oblivion it's the opposite, texture packs and flora overhauls are perfectly fine, barely an fps drop if at all. I didn't have any problems with script-heavy mods like Oblivion XP or Basic Primary Needs either. However added NPCs and city-town overhauls are simply butchering my fps (30-40 fps drops with Better Cities) It's just a parallel world. I realize that it's a different engine and an old game, but the modding methods are basically the same that's why it's weird.
  16. Here's another screenshot comparison between Bloom and HDR. I think HDR is way too overdone and Bloom looks much more natural/better that nice 13-15 FPS boost isn't that bad either. (Still vanilla Oblivion) Bloom: http://i42.tinypic.com/rho7eo.jpg HDR: http://i40.tinypic.com/2pyc7cy.jpg
  17. Hi guys, I've just started to mod Oblivion again to start a new playthrough and I'm not really up to date with the mods on the nexus page. I'm wondering if you could help me list the mods which are the most performance heavy or even harmful for the game. I'm pretty sure many of us would benefit from a list like this all in one place. I'll also try and test a few mods in the next couple of days and share the results here.
  18. Hi guys I was making some screenshots with the three lighting options available in Oblivion with the fps displayed and I thought I'd share it with you. The screenshots were made with a completely maxed out/ini tweaked vanilla (no mods) Oblivion (3.0 Shaders, 2xAA, 8xAF forced through Nvidia Panel) However I tell you that the .ini tweaks listed on various websites like TweakGuides etc. gave me 0-3 fps boost at best so I'd say don't bother. I'm wondering if anyone prefers Bloom over HDR. I think HDR is the prettiest out in the wilds, but in cities like the Imperial City it's a horrible eyesore on the bleached walls and the columns in the market district, it's just simply a pain to look at. I'm about to start my next playthrough and I'm surprised how horribly optimized this game is. I can't even get a steady 60fps when it's maxed out. Bloom: http://i39.tinypic.com/dfjdwg.jpg http://i43.tinypic.com/2pplm5i.jpg HDR: http://i42.tinypic.com/fwrq7s.jpg http://i39.tinypic.com/svi3cp.jpg None: http://i43.tinypic.com/2ufu71z.jpg http://i44.tinypic.com/34o94i9.jpg
  19. No idea, I've just tried it again and it's the same. I suppose there is a problem and the Nexus staff hasn't noticed it yet as oblivion isn't the most frequented of the Nexus pages. :(
  20. In response to post #9313723. @Mok214 I second this, I cannot download anything at all, which is a shame as I've just bought Oblivion and I'm eager to mod the hell out of it. Skyrim Nexus however works fine so it's just Oblivion Nexus which is down. The site says this: Error The site has run in to a problem, please look at the error message below... 21. Haha this is ridiculous, just when I bought Oblivion it's modding site dies. That's my luck I guess...
  22. Hi all, I've just bought Oblivion Game of the Year Edition on Steam, I had loads of issues getting the game to work (low fps, slow player movement etc.) Which is already very frustrating and then this: It's not a temporary issue, I tried downloading mods in the morning and now in the evening (I'm from Europe) andI can't download ANY mod from Oblivion Nexus it always says this message: ErrorThe site has run in to a problem, please look at the error message below... No file exists for this ID.
