Why, oh why, stuttering...
OblivionRora replied to ztgamer's topic in Oblivion's Mod troubleshooting
Hello ZTGamer, I do not know if it will help, but your game seems to run well... good fps, I see some nice mods going on... so I do not think it is because of your computer's specs. On the other hand, Do you run Oblivion as an admin ? Does your Oblivion has a high priority for your CPU ? Do you use other programs that might alter your gaming's quality (anti-virus, skype, other web pages etc etc) ? Last thing... how many mods do you have installed ? Sometimes, it can happen that some mods are not very well installed (they work but create a very bad path for your computer to load), or depending some of your mods, some esp are not that well cleaned and it makes it very difficult for your computer to read. Can you please post your mod list so I can take a quick look ? Thank you : ) -
Help me my hgec stopped working!
OblivionRora replied to Hatstablock's topic in Oblivion's Mod troubleshooting
OblivionAddicted is right : this error comes from an unusual folder path. "nude\fighter upper body\h\meshes" does not exist in an TES Oblivion Folder. The path should look more like this : " Meshes/Character/.....", where the ..... are a folder with the name of either the custom race you are using or an existing race. Did you manually installed other mods ? Sometimes it can happen that you mess around with some folders by mistakes... Did you installed your HGEC with OBMM or manually the first time ? PS : The error can also come from the skeleton.nif, did you mod some animations ? -
Mystic Emporium Patch Not Working
OblivionRora replied to MoltresRider's topic in Oblivion's Mod troubleshooting
Hello Moltres ! This issue has been talked many times and even if you have the proper patch, there is a chance depending a few things that it will not work... Your mods load order might be the cause of it. Put all your Unofficial Patches on top of the list, and for FrostCrag, BOSS and LOOT (I do not know if you are using any of them) place it automatically at the bottom of all the DLCs... which is a mistake. What you have to do is to move it manually so your FrostCrag DLC (and its patch) find themselves before any other DLCs. I hope this help :) -
Hello Gus ! https://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/5118/ : Here is a link of an Oblivion mod called "Carry All You Want". It is a very simple mod, easy to install that will allow you to carry... well "almost" everything you want ^.^ You can find many other mods that do the same thing, this one is just a personal recommendation :)

Crashing/Runtime Error - please evaluate my load order
OblivionRora replied to umbypokochan's topic in Oblivion's Discussion
Glad you worked that out ^^ LOOT and BOSS are pretty much the same, except that LOOT offers more. I personally use BOSS for TES Oblivion and yes, it does some small mistakes here and there when it's about load order, but when you know a bit about it, you can rectify the few mistakes :) http://wiki.tesnexus.com/index.php/Load_order_recommendations : here is a link about the correct load order if you are interested ^.^ -
Decorator assistant V 1.1 not working
OblivionRora replied to MoltresRider's topic in Oblivion's Mod troubleshooting
Hello MoltresRider, I do not use this mod but could you be a little bit more precise please ? - Does your mod order is correct ? - Are you sure you installed this mod properly ? - Did you check for any patches ? - Do you have any DLC ? - If you have the Frostcrag DLC, do you have the issue with the "Mystic Emporium" being closed all the time ? - (stupid question) Did you check both merchants in the shop if you have the DLC ? -
imperial city markey floating walls/gap
OblivionRora replied to Caravanskate's topic in Oblivion's Discussion
Hello ! Well I believe that when you tried to install Better Cities, you overwrote or changed some files from the "Meshes" files in your Oblivion folder... the result is now : the size, orientation or placement of your walls is different and do not match anymore.... If you have a backup of your TES Oblivion before you tried to install Better Cities, use it and see if there are any changes. If you do not have a back up... there is very little you can do now... except deleting your game and re-installing it with the proper files... Last thing, maybe it could be another mod of yours that can cause this kind of problem : Any mod that can alter any cities could have been installed the wrong way and some files from your "Meshes" folder got mixed up.... Anyway, hope you can fix your problem Merry Christmas <3 -
Crashing/Runtime Error - please evaluate my load order
OblivionRora replied to umbypokochan's topic in Oblivion's Discussion
Hello, About BOSS, it is very simple since most of its feature is automatic ^.^ Just launch BOSS and a web page will open in your browser. There, you will see what BOSS has to say about your TES Oblivion mods : your mods can be recognized or not, properly installed or not. If there are any mistakes from your part, BOSS will let you know, and your mod order will change accordingly without you doing anything. If some of your mods are not recognized by BOSS, it will not change their order and just put them at the bottom of your list : you will have to do it yourself. The only thing I have to say about your mod order is about FrostCrag : you should move the DLC and its patch further up your list (at least before BattleHorn Castle), because it can happen sometimes that because of this order, the shop in the Imperial City (Mystic Emporium I believe) stays close and you will be unable to enter the shop without pick locking your way in... All your Overhaul mods should be at the bottom I believe, so I would move OOO (Obscuro Oblivion Overhaul) next to MOO (Maskar Oblivion Overhaul). Hope this help ^.^ Merry Christmas <3 -
Did you organize your mods order ? The Unofficial Oblivion Patch should be near the top of your list.

Hello Flake ! I do not use Wrye Bash but I can tell you more about OBMM ^^ I also use BOSS to help me organizing my mods. When you download a mod, depending the mod, you can either install it directly using OBMM or manually : -When you use OBMM, you will find a button "create", press it and another window will appear. Pick the zip file (or rar file), rename it the way you want it and create the archive. Depending the size of the mod, it can take several minutes, so be patient. Once the archive has been created, you can install the mod by double-clicking it in the right column. If properly installed, the little square will turn from green to blue. Sometimes, the color can be different : red means this mod and another one conflict, and can damage your game if installed together.... so be careful. - When you install a mod manually (by c/p the files into your Oblivion folder), if this mod has at least 1 esp file, you will need to open OBMM and activate it before you can use it. It is very simple : place your files into your Oblivion folder, open OBMM and check the left column this time. You should see your esp files there. Simply activate them by clicking them and close OBMM once done. /!\ Make sure you have a back up of your Oblivion game folder somewhere... modding is extremely fun but you can seriously damage the game by modding it the wrong way... so c/p it somewhere on your desktop when you do a modding session... and when you try your mods and see that you messed up, just delete your Oblivion folder and replace it with your back up. /!\ When you install new mods, install them 2 by 2, or 3 by 3, for the same reasons explained earlier. If you install 15 mods at the same time and realize later that you messed up one... how the hell are you supposed to know which one ? So doing it 2 by 2 or 3 by 3 is better (a bit slower though) and safer for you and your game. /!\ Your mod order in OBMM matters ! In the left column (not the right one), the order of your esp files is important. The game will load these files with the same order : from top to bottom. This means that your important mods should always be on top and your small or overhaul mods should be at the bottom. I personally use BOSS for that. If you want to use BOSS, just install it on your computer, run it and an internet page will show up telling you everything you want to know about your mods and organizing them the right way without you doing anything. The only exception will be the mods that are not recognized by BOSS... these one will be put at the bottom of your list and you will have to organize them manually. /!\ Use OBSE as well, most mods use it. /!\ Depending your computer, you can find many mods that can help your gaming experience by making the game run smoother, faster or just without crashes (it is a Bethesda game... it crashes sometimes). Hope it helps, if you have more questions, just ask :)

Haha you're welcome ^^ But you are the one who truly help me out every time ;p Anyways, I tried what you said and yes it does indeed work the way you mentioned. So you loose an idle pose (with weapon) to replace it for you original idle pose... Well since I never use staves, I used my Staf Idle Pose for my "neutral" pose and it works like a charm. I did have to use TES Construction Set though... for some reasons it disabled some animations and I had to re-check them (no big deal except I did freak out a bit... no I did freak out A LOT when it did not work the first time lol). Thanks for resolving my issue (again) ! You're great !! /!\ This topic can be closed now /!\

Hello Striker, thank you (again) for your reply, I'm using Blockhead since I modded my TES IV Oblivion, but never thought I could use it to solve my issue. I'm gonna give it a try today... I just read your answer and I think I understand what you meant. I hope I will be able to achieve what I want :) Thank you again, I will edit this post if I manage to do it myself ^^

Hello everybody, I'm kind of new in the modding world, but I love it so far :) I spend more time trying to mod TES IV Oblivion more than playing at this point lol... I was looking around for a long time, but couldn't find anything that suits me... It is about the Idle pose in the Journal : this pose is horrible and I would like to change it to something.... let's say different ? more feminine ? I found one mod that actually makes the pose "blank", that's how the modder describes it, it is better than the original of course, but it is not what I'm looking for. Is there any mods out there that actually change this pose for something different ? I saw some awesome pose for weapons so I guess it is definitely possible ? I read an article that explained how to do it : creating an "idle" inventory pose with an invisible weapon. Thing is... I'm no modder, so I would like to know if anybody out there would be interested to work on something like this ? I do not know how difficult it would be though... Anyways, thank you for reading, I hope a modder will find some interest in my request if the work is not too hard :) Have a good day !!

/!\ Update /!\ I found out something I did not think about... instead of trying to change my character's body's tone, I tried to change her face's tone. It works well, there is only a very tiny difference between her body and face now, but it is way better than before. Thank you Striker879 for your information and ideas to help me out solving my issue. I guess you can close this topic :)

There are no Lineage Elf Screenshots in the SS folder. I do not really care if the textures are 4096x4096 or 2048x2048. I tried all files (except orc and dark elf) and none came close to match my character's face color... I'm getting more and more frustrated lol It does not change my great experience of TES IV Oblivion, it just sucks a bit every time I open my character's profile, I can see it lol

I installed it manually because when I used the Tool Installer, I could not find the Elves of Lineage II Race (There is Ice Elf, Mystic Elf but not Lineage Elf...). I picked : - FootFemale (for brownSkin) - Foot Female_n - HandFemale - Handfemale_n I picked the muscular body and the normal textures (I don't like the oiled ones). Where should I put these 4 files ? I put them in the Lineage File, but there is also a file named Dimon99 (it's about the Lineage Elves Retexture, the one I'm using), with a few DDS files in it (linelf v1, linelf v1_n etc etc). Should I pick another set ? In that case, which one ? Or is there another mod that could give me a more grey-ish body texture ?

Hello, I don't know if that would help but since you said that it was more than a year ago... I'm sure several of your mods are out of date. You should try to check if the important mods (OBSE, OBSE plugins and others) do not need a patch. If you uninstalled TES IV Oblivion before, you should also check if all your mods are working properly... maybe some of them are not activated anymore and make the game crash.

Hello, I'm kind of new to the whole modding game thingy, and I've spent the entire day trying to solve my issue with TES IV Oblivion. I've been on different forums, youtube etc etc but I couldn't find anything to help me out... So to sum it up, I downloaded several mods to change the appearance of my character. Here are the mods for my appearance customization : - Elves of Lineage II - Elves of Lineage II Update - Elves of Lineage II Face Texture - Elves of Lineage II Face Texture Update - HGEC body with BBB - High Rez Skin Texture for HGEC - Body Seam Reducer So... obviously, my character is a Lineage II Elf (not a Dark Elf). The texture of her head is a bit grey-ish and the textures of her body are more traditional pink/white : it creates a very bad seam around her neck. Body Seam Reducer does very little for me... I can barely see the difference. I tried to see if there was a mod with a more grey-ish texture that could work with HGEC... but I could not find any. Do you have any suggestions ? I'm really running out of ideas... If you need more info or even a screenshot, I can provide that too. Thank you for your time.
