  1. thats one way of putting it I guess, it's not like it was in Fallout 3 or Fallout New Vegas, it's the same dial on the same pipboy, but this one's less special ;) not a bug at all! lol
  2. it wasn't instant, but it was fast, you take radaway and you can see the dial lowering quickly, then you take another if you have to, believe me I'm actually in the middle of another FNV playthough (started it to get ready for F4, but need atleast 6 months to complete all the mod quests and stock stuff lol), so I'm very used to using the dial to keep track. How it is right now is not how it should be (or was atleast)
  3. Yeah the main problem seems to be that they didn't find a way to allow the ground to mold to the base of the object you are placing (or as said above you can't build on a slope with a fence!), so you start with a building or a fence/wall on flat ground, and after 5 sections you have a ruddy great gap underneath, it's really rather silly and greatly restricts what you can do if you want it to look half ways right
  4. Hi all, I'm guessing its much too soon, but I'm soooooo looking forward to someone creating a texture pack to get rid of those ugly cheap looking plastic wrap effect textures that everything in the game seems to have, it feels like I'm playing a console game on my PC and is really spoiling F4 for me. I've not been able to figure out why F4 feels so different to Skyrim and other fallout games, but I think the crappy clothing and facial textures are a big part of that, and that the clothing looks like it's a part of the body rather than over the body. Maybe I was spoiled by Skyrim and FNV, which I'd loaded up with some very cool clothing/armor and skin mods But if anyone has an early fix to get rid of the plastic wrap effect I'd be glad to hear it!! Nat Btw, just incase you're wondering if it's my settings, I'm running an I7 4790K with 16gb 2400mhz ram and a 3gb R9 280x with 256mb SSD, all my settings are set to ultra and view distances maxed, everything is full on max detail.
  5. The Pipboy Rad meter is broken. When you look at your pipboy and take radaway, the meter doesn't reduce (as it always did in F3 and FNV), I ended up using way more radaway than I needed to in the beginning, the only way around this is take a radaway, close your pipboy and open it again then take more if needed.
  6. yep this would have been cool, always annoying to see that spiders can't walk on walls or upside down, if you find a way that this can be done it would be very cool
  7. I think you should be able to start with C of S,but in character CK creation just use the sliders to make the face you want, and adjust the height scale, it's only what you'd have to do in anycase, only you're startig from a young base model
  8. There's lots of young race mods. I think the one you want is Children of the Sky, IIRR it has male models also, but there's also Monli and Elin, teenagers race of Lovergirls, but I think C of S is the only one with males.
  9. IIRR it doesn't matter where you put it because when you use it you will you'll have to select the files/folders or bsa files to optimise. The main thing is which optimisation method you use, the more you optimise the lower the quality of the texture once it's done, but it will make backups of the files. I used it to compress all my BSA texture files (Skyrim - Textures.bsa) and also all the folders in my Data folder. although this lowers the quality of all textures, it then meant that if I wanted to, I could replace the now optimised textures with higher res ones. Have a good read of his notes for the file ect, but I did find it quiet good. Setlect your Data folder at the top of the prog, tick Textures and it might not be a bad idea to set the "Profile" to Medium, tick all the options under the Textures tab (but leave the default "compress to"). Tick BSA and in the BSA folder tick Compress BSA and Select All. Doing that should compress every texture in Skyrim and from mods aswell. Just have a good read through the download page so directions and tips ect. Nat
  10. Yep very common problem. there's loads of guides to fix this on the net. The given method is when you are in CK, in the Object Window go into the actors and find your new/changed actor, highlight it and press f4, it will export facegen files for the actor and you "should" be o after that
  11. have a look for Texture Optimizer, it's a method of compressing game textures, so using less ram on your graphic card and allowing textures to process faster: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/12801/? Also, do a google for Skyrim tweaks, you should find loads of good tweaks for the ini files that help
  12. There are a few teenager races, might be worth taking a look at them for help and ideas :)
  13. I started off with UFO, then switched to AFT, but after finding it more of a pain than simplifying things I went back to UFO, perhaps it's more a case of what a person gets used to using.
  14. Hiya m8, try the following: in CK, click View Click Show/Hide Window in the dropdown menu Just make sure what you want to see is ticked, in this case Light Markers. Hopefully that should do it for you :) Nat
  15. Isle of Balfiera: Region Summary Province High Rock Ruler Medora Direnni Capital none Populace Breton Regional Knightly Order None Patron Deity Akatosh Regional Temple None Dominant Vampire Bloodline Lyrezi Distinct Locations 67 Distinct Dungeons 49 http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Daggerfall:Isle_of_Balfiera
  16. the lore part is easy, there's so much online to read up on back story and lore. The island is the Isle of Balfiera http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Isle_of_Balfiera
  17. first place I'd look for ideas is the overall skyrim quest line to expand upon, myself I'm working on Dark Brotherhood quest possibilities, so there's my focus to what I build. There are a number of unfinished quest lines that you could pick up on, or even revive from older Elder Scrolls if lore friendly is the way you want to go. I think in your position I'd have to consider where the landmass is located in Tamriel, that might guide your character choice and so also your story line. From the images you've shown I think it looks northern, possibly directly bordering Skyrim, maybe something that links into the back story of the Orismer, this would involve probably the Orcs and Imperials prominently with influences from the Redguard and Nords, and I think would suit your landmass very well: http://www.imperial-library.info/sites/default/files/pgtte_v3_map_orsinium.jpg http://www.imperial-library.info/sites/default/files/pgtte_v3_map_high-rock.jpg The more I think about it, yes I think I'd lean towards the Orcs story based in Orsinium as the main guide, but the main thing, is have fun with it and build what you enjoy most :)
  18. I agree, with both, big mods are hard work, but (as one that has suffered with this) burnt out can be a b***ch and it can be seriously hard or almost impossible to carry on, but released in a usable but unfinished state isn't a bad thing, of course we'd all rather have it completed and in a good finished state, but if the creator is having issues with motivation which I fully understand, I know that we'd just love to have the world space to mod into and bring it on, it's seriously looking to good to throw away!!
  19. I know it doesn't look like Blackmarsh LOL hence me saying "turn it into", you can't turn it into Blackmarsh if it already looked like Blackmarsh now could you  and it was meant with a hint of humor
  20. Turn it into Blackmarsh and I'll love you forever and have your babies LMAO (I could really use Blackmarsh you see ;) ) Visually it looks very good what you've shown so far, and lets be honest, with the demise of Skyrim now, no more DLC's, new lands are more important than ever!! There's only so many times you can run around the same piece of real estate and mods start stumbling over each other in the world space. IMHO all the greatest mods you can think of only go so far, they don't really extend the life of the game, just the looks, new lands are essential regardless of the "state" they are in, because moders can always build upon it. So my vote, for sure!! Get it done as best you can and get it out the door, I'm sure I wont be the only one to offer any help I can give to get this done. Hope you can find the drive to pick this up again m8, seriously though, I'm in the middle of a mod myself, but I'd gladly lend a hand if you needed it. Nat
  21. rather than just deleting the game folder I think you should look at what you downloaded to see exactly what files it added and where, then remove those. I don't know what mods you're using, and even if you told me it probably wouldn't help, but if the dog changed a file that another mod installed and replies upon you will still get problems.
  22. Pretty sure it's in the NPC creation tabs, make sure your NPC is set as some type of Missile rather than Melee and set the combat style the same way in the AI Data tab. Nat
  23. Hey Robin, I think my main 2don't play without" is Better Vampires, of course only if you're going to become a vampire, but if you are IMHO it's a must have. I also use Ultimate Follower Overhaul which I find to be less "glitchy" than other similar mods. Dudestas multiple marriages aswell, not so much because I think it's cool having loads of wives lol, but the re-locator spell for spouses comes in handy if you need to teleport a spouse to your current location, handy if you get into a bad fight. I don't really use any landscape or graphical updates other than Realistic Lighting, on the whole they hammer my PC to much for my liking. So, my must have list (not my "I really love list") is: Batter Vampires Ultimate Follower Overhaul Dudesta's Multiple Marriages Nat
  24. have you been through tweak guides like this http://itcprosolutions.com/skyrimguides/tweak_guide.htm#increasingperformance there's also lots of tweak tips around the net if you google it. I'm not saying not to use mods for performance, but start with trying out tweaks first. You've mentioned the least important part of a system for playing skyrim, the cpu, but what graphic card do you use??? This mod can optimise textures, making them much smaller and adding mipmaps to ones that don't have them and I find it works very well http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/12801 I think you should be able to get skyrim playable though, it's actually pretty good on low end PC's if you use the right settings for it or make the right tweaks, I'm not saying it'll look great ofcourse, but you should be able to get it pretty usable. As for the mods you've listed, I've never used any of them so I can't really say, sorry. But as for version numbers, unless stated by the author you should expect that they will work with any version, performance mods aren't usually patch specific, but skyrim is now om v 1.9.32.0, it might be worth you updating your skyrim since there are often little performance boosts in patches. Good luck m8 Nat
  25. Sounds cool to me budcat, I fully understand not being able to worry about other peoples work, there's so much out there and more every day it'd be a full time job just trying to keep up and not something you should be responsible for! You're working in areas I've only just started to look at, ie making specific changes to races and or quests and scripts to make them function the way I want them to, so you're way more experienced than I am at this and I tip my hat at you finding this method, but I fully agree, if you sit down and work though it logically it doesn't usually take much to see what you need to do and more people should give it a try. Made me wonder though, it sounds like it could possibly be put together in such a way as to make it automated either through spell or MCM config to act upon the current player race (still too advanced for me to look at right now lol). So, I think it's great you've worked through this and every step like this helps me and others learn more, and more quickly.
