  1. I know I boot slower but surely I keep the performance of the SSD when running games on it? Edit: I think we're getting sidetracked :D
  2. Apparently crashing every 15 minutes can be caused by some kind of windows 10 keyboard service. Haven't experienced it myself, just saw it mentioned in this guide (http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/74427), it's towards the bottom, with a possible solution.
  3. Thanks for the responses :). I've generally been ok with stability when actually making the save, but what about long term stability? Apparently autosaves and quicksaves (and maybe just saving outside the pause menu) cause scripts to become desynced, a bigger problem with script heavy builds, which can cause problems over time. I'll probably play safe and use the pause menu from what you say though. Also, somehow I just remembered that skyrim saves are made to the My Games folder which for me is on a hard drive (my ssd is my secondary drive). I just looked into moving it but it seems that I'd need to move my entire documents folder which I wouldn't want to do. My hard drive is a black western digital which apparently is pretty fast anyway, but any ideas to move the save folder would be appreciated. Also thanks for the heads up on Autosave Manager :).
  4. I'm not sure whether to put this in 'General Discussion' or 'Technical Support' since this is more of an open question rather than a request for help. I'm just looking for some advice regarding game saves; mods like Autosave Manager add the option to both automatically save as well as save through a hotkey. This can be configured to make 'manual saves' which supposedly makes it the same as saving through the pause menu. However, I have also heard that it is the pause menu itself that makes a stable save, making this option just as dangerous as normal autosaves and quicksaves. The two explanations that I have heard are these; the first is that autosaves and quicksaves pause scripts to save them in a staggered fashion to make saving quicker, which means that various scripts are stopped at different times and are desynced over time, while manual saves pause them at the same time so don't produce this problem. The other explanation is that all types of saves work in the same way and the only reason that manual saves are safer is because they are made through the pause menu, which isn't pauses all scripts. In the first instance, the hotkey manual save feature of Autosave Manager will produce stable saves, while in the second it does not. So what are your opinions on this? Is there any solid information on this? On another note, are the saves produced by SafeAutoSave any safer? I can't find any information on this mod other than what's in the description; the posts section seems to be disabled and I can't find a single thread on it. Thanks for any responses :) Autosave Manager: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/34842 SafeAutoSave: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/64413/?
  5. Oh wow you're right! I had been storing all my items on my horse, there is no issue if I use smaller containers. Thanks for the help

  7. I have developed a strange problem where it seems that as I transfer an item to another inventory (looting, containers etc) there is a tiny stutter. This isn't really much of a problem but it means it takes a long time to transfer lots of items (like ingredients) to a container and it is very frustrating. 8. Whenever I reset the game it changes my sensitivity to default and there doesn't seem to be a line for it in any of the files. I've tried inserting it but it seems to be ignored in whatever file. The ingame slider is useless anyway because the difference is too big between the bottom bar and first bar. What's going on?! :D PS. Yay I managed to fix it by doing this basically: http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1736380
  9. YAYYYYYYYY! I reinstalled ohud and it worked! I wonder what happened. Thanks for directing me to ui mods :D.
  10. Well my game crashed when I went through a door in an AWOP location (pretty common) but when I went to launch it again it just got stuck at the bethesda logo with no cursor. There's no crash and the music continues. I tried leaving for half an hour and nothing happened, I also reset the ini file and launched it through steam rather than 4gb and it worked once but not since :l. I have also verified game cache and checked FNV Edit. Does anyone know what's going on?
  11. I have another problem as well now where the fps goes down over the course of one save; I tested this by loading the save just after Doc Mitchell's and it was fine. Combined with my current issue I ended up with 20 fps in Goodsprings! :D
  12. I have had this problem for a long time and I created a post a long time ago and never found a solution; I put up with this but I can't bear it anymore! The frame rate seems to drop to about 40-45 after 20 minutes or so and then stays there, while in the same area it was 60fps a few minutes earlier. Previously I have tried the NVSE heap size fix, various options in stutter remover and purging cell buffers. Reinstalled twice. Does anyone have any idea how this could be fixed? I am on Windows 8, GTX 770, 3770k. I use the 4gb patch. Is there an easy way to give a list of my mods? :D I'll say that I have a bunch of texture packs; NMC, Poco, EWI, stuff; interior lighting overhaul, flora overhaul, AWOP, about 100. PS: Is there any way I can check if a script has gone mad or something?
  13. I think you're right. :D After messing about with those IHeap settings I may have made a bit of improvement but it's not fixed. Maybe if the maker of Skyrim Memory Patch could port his mod to Fallout....
  14. Oh thanks a lot! I forgot to mention that I am using the SKSE alpha with the memory patch, but I didn't set up the INI at all. I will do that as soon as I can. Also forgot to say that I did a fresh install (and I did confirm that it was completely frah :)) and thanks but I already use ENBoost and I cannot spare with my precious ENB! :) Like I said I need to confirm that it's working with that monitor program.
  15. Could someone please help with stability issues? I recently reinstalled Skyrim, removing a lot of mods I previously had and pretty much keeping the rest the same, including ENB. I just added a couple of small mods that probably don't even have any scripts. However, I seem to get instant CTD (no error) relatively regularly depending on how much I'm travelling. I don't think I could go to Riverwood from Whiterun then up to that bridge with the bandits east of Whiterun without a CTD. My game before, which had a completely broken save and tonnes of weird scripty mods, didn't crash this much although they are instant CTDs like this; that happened after travelling across the map though! I have run the 4gb patch but I'm not entirely sure if it's working as I run Skyrim through the script extender. I haven't looked at my ram usage through Skyrim monitor yet. Mods: Realvision Performance ENB - Option A Climates of Tamriel Realistic Lighting Overhaul Bunch of textures Maybe ENBoost isn't working? PS: I started a new save when I reinstalled.
  16. Mmm the multicore tweak didn't work so I will just mess about with the tick count settings.
  17. What should I do with the tick count? That seems to be a whole section which is disabled by default; should I enable it? I also saw 'iHeapSize', which is set to 250. Should I change that to 384 like with the NVSE fix? Is the multicore tweak the same as the Fallout 3 one? By the way I should mention that in 13 hours I haven't had a single crash.
  18. I am already using the stutter remover and NVSE. I tried your fix and I think it MAY have prolonged/reduced the problem but didn't eradicate it. Perhaps there is something I can enable in NVSR configuration that would help?
  19. So is there any way to fix it or, at least, to reduce it? Perhaps a console command I could use instead of restarting the game? Oh I am frustratingly sensitive to frame rate. I haven't actually use an FPS monitor at all! :D I would be aggravated by a dip to 50fps.
  20. I have a rather strange issue where the frame rate will just gradually go down over time. For example, at the start of the game (I just installed and started a new game) I obviously spent a while in Goodsprings; as I left Doc Mitchell's house I was doing +60fps but after about an hour the same view gave me about 45fps. There doesn't seem to be a correlation with the weather from Nevada Skies. I save the game and restart, and it is back to +60fps! Could this be a memory issue? I am running quite a lot of mods including LARGE NMC texture pack, Poco Bueno, MG neat clutter and EWI. No ENB. I am using the 4gb patch however. Thanks in advance :)
  21. Oh I only had to go back about half an hour since I couldn't really save anyway, and most of that time was spent last travelling anyway so I just fast travelled and I was pretty much back where I was. :)
  22. Never mind I just went back to the uncorrupted save and this time I was able to remove the mod so that's nice.
