  1. That doesn't make it right. One viewpoint shared by many is not the viewpoint of everyone. Catering solely to "horny teenage males" cuts out all the folks who aren't "horny teenage males" - and that's not fair. I'm not saying "pls make video games be oh so careful and PC and pristine so no one, ever, is offended", I'm saying that I think there should be more diversity in a game world, any game world, and the mods for it. Because the actual audience is very diverse. Except it doesn't get my panties in a bunch. I love Skyrim. I also recognize it can be problematic. You can enjoy something and still be aware of its flaws. You can even enjoy mocking the flaws!
  2. I'm so mad I have work soon, or I'd sit and write out a long reply because I adore these sorts of discussion. For anyone using "real life historical accuracy" as an argument point, we're talking about a fantasy game world here. Not ours. There is no reason to build a fantasy world and inject it with the ideologies and restrictions of our own. Also, Viking culture was not as gender biased as some of you believe. Although women were under the authority of their husband (or father if unwed), they had a lot of freedom. They could own their own land, have their own business, their own money. They could marry and divorce. Viking women were strong and ruled their households like a matriarchy. And let's not forget shield maidens. Homosexuality in Viking culture is an iffy subject, but this article is a good read if anyone is interested. Just because almost 50% of gamers are women doesn't mean much when developers (and modders to an extent) cater almost exclusively to straight, white, cisgender, men, and any requests for diversity by anyone else are drowned out with insults and arguments. Valid point, but also a bit of a cop out. It would be easy to put two male NPCs in a house together and make a vague or direct mention of them being together. Being as casual and nonchalant about it as possible is the best thing to do. But in a similar vein about "few explicit romantic relationships", Skyrim is solely (rather selfishly, really) about the Dragonborn. The NPCs don't matter unless they have a direct connection to the Dragonborn. It's perfectly valid considering their ideas of beauty should differ from ours, and yet we see modern feminine beauty all over the game. It's not even fair for men since not every man looks like a lumberjack. Now, the muscular, hairy, brick-like face looks does fit male Nords and Orcs, but both races value strength - so shouldn't the women be powerful looking too? (Shout out to the CNHF body replacer.) My apologizes that my post is a rambling mess. I'm short on time and must run! Good post, OP. I'll be back later to talk some more.
  3. I've always loved this idea, even if I wouldn't use the mod myself. I recall reading that horses are actually extinct, which is unfortunate, but one could always use a brahmin, bighorner, or some new critter to ride. If a slimmer brahmin and/or bighorner were modelled, one could say they were specifically bred for riding. Like how thoroughbreds are bred slim and fast to race. Figure out how to throw some armor on the mount and you'd be the greatest terror of the wastes.
  4. Alright, after reinstalling the mod for a clean start I figured out the problem: A lot of the texture paths were either wrong or completely missing. They've all been fixed, save two or three due to complications, and that is that. Thank you so much for the help, Xaranth. I appreciate it a lot!
  5. I'd certainly be interested. Upon seeing this post, I checked my game and according to the weight mod I'm currently using, my sixteen bobby pins are almost two pounds. Makes complete sense, of course. Bitter sarcasm aside, I imagine you could base power armor weight on the weight of plate armor (or perhaps even modern variants), plus a few extra pounds. What other little mods have you created, if you don't mind my asking?
  6. Nothing different. The texture continues to evade the mesh.
  7. Thank you for the suggestions. I disabled my body mods, I even disabled New Vegas Redesigned, and still had the problem. This isn't the first time I've messed with this file, either, and the screenshot I provided is from a new game. I've checked it with FNVEdit before, and it showed a few conflicts with NVR which were fixed by moving FalloutMaleHair.esp below NVR's esps. But like I said, even with NVR disabled the problem persists. I remain defeated by a hair texture…. Windows 7, C:/Program Files (x86)/Steam/steamapps/common/Fallout New Vegas/Data
  8. Now you see it, now you don't! A while back, I downloaded neko1kitty's mod Male Hair Pack and in the preview images, they all look pretty good, but … not so much in-game. http://i.imgur.com/aHYKdNR.png Depending on the camera angle, the texture may pop in for a moment then disappear again. Hence the title. I've extracted the .bsa file and fixed the texture paths in NifSkope, but I cannot get it to work. My knowledge of textures, NifSkope, etc. is pretty limited, so I'm already out of ideas on what to do. All I'm asking is that someone point me in the right direction and I'll attempt the rest myself. Thank you kindly!
  9. Does this happen with containers as well or just workbenches? If the E key seems to be disabled for everything, I've dealt with the same issue before and although I could not find the source of the problem, reloading from an earlier save seemed to fix it - at least temporarily. I hope something works out for you.
