  1. "Thanks a lot for revealing my plan to everyone." Shalena said to Daud once he told everyone that she might try to steal the dancing seal, though, in truth while the little animal was adorable it involved too much effort into stealing it, and where should she put it now that they're traveling by land, and her ship had been shrunk and is now resting in the safety of her pocket. The piratess went back to her seat by Nawen and just as Tannin began talking about pirating, she began to grin. "See? He understands." She said as she nudged the drow with her elbow. "If you'll ever feel like becoming a pirate, just let me know." She winked. Nawen smiled when Dagny told that she'd like the rabbit stew. "At least somebody's interested," she said, and when Tak'we joined them and complimented her cooking she thanked him, though the idea of being sought by giant insect-like beings wasn't too pleasing, but of course Shalena found this pretty amusing. "Looks like someone might have some competition," the piratess laughed, "just imagine that one day our dear drow might be swept off her feet by a giant mantis man." Nawen shook her head as she listened to Shalena, "and I wish that something would sweep you somewhere far far away."
  2. "Kill the girls? What?" Nawen thought as she started at Tannin but decided not to ask what happened. However, the words that followed were truly touching, and she had to fight off the tears so she wouldn't embarrass herself or make those by the fire pit uncomfortable. This was the nicest thing anyone had ever said to her, and yet again she did not know what to say. "I... thank you..." she said, but then thankfully he changed the subject. "I do like darker shade of green, yes, but you don't have to worry about that, it already looks great." She said as she glanced at the armor. When Argyros came back to the camp with the rabbits she smiled as she looked at the rabbits. "Of course I can," she said quite proudly, "anyone want rabbit stew for dinner?" The drow asked out loud. "I think we still have some carrots, and I think I saw a few potatoes somewhere around here too." She wondered out loud as she tried to remember the recipe. "Rabbit stew? Oh, I'd love to eat some of that," Shalena exclaimed, "the only time my ship's cook made a rabbit stew... well, it had no rabbits in it." As Nawen finally remembered all the ingredients needed for the stew she looked at Argyros. "Let us hope that it's only for a few days, we can't wait for more than that." "If only they were fighting over ships," Shalena said, "we could either destroy them or take them for ourselves. Just imagine what I... we could do with more ships." "Yes," Nawen mumbled, "we could just give up this saving the world business, and take up pirating instead. Marvelous fun." She said sarcastically. "That's what I was thinking!" The piratess laughed fully aware that the drow wasn't serious. "Back to the squabbling fools, a shame that the dragon left. He could have carried us across-" she said but then the dancing seal with a hat and a beard caught her attention, "just look at that!" She exclaimed as she got up and rushed towards the seal. "He's the cutest little thing I've ever seen! Just look at that hat and the bushy beard... adorable!" Nawen noticed the seal as well and chuckled, "he is adorable, and that beard... it looks very nice on him."
  3. Nawen shifted uncomfortably in her spot. Why was he so curious about this? "N-no. I've never been... involved with anyone." She said as she started gathering leftovers for the animal companions of the group. "I thought once that I could be with someone-" she paused as she remembered one of the worst moments in her life. It happened years ago but she could still recall everything clearly. Every expression that he made, every word she yelled at him, even how the room looked. "I'm sorry, Nawen, but I never saw you in this way," "I've been seeing someone else," "you're a treasured friend, and you always will be, but I can't give you what you want..." "But it didn't go too well." She said and faked a smile.
  4. "Hmm... sharing stories sounds fine with me." Shalena said not really interested in the hunting or gathering strength parts. "As it so happens, you are the first person to... to say something like this," Nawen said as she blushed lightly, "I think they are scared, yes," she chuckled, "or simply don't find me, you know, attractive." Even if it wasn't the first time Tannin had complimented her, it still felt unusual. "Oh, I don't know. I don't find him lecherous," she said to Dagny, "we have far more lecherous people among us." She said as she shot a glance at Shalena's crew. While the pirates mostly stayed away from the rest of them, it was pretty obvious how they saw the female members of the group, aside from their captain that is.
  5. "Of course I am," Shalena laughed, "wouldn't be a very good pirate if shiny treasures didn't interest me." She said as she took a bite of the meat. The piratess finished eating her breakfast while grinning and occasionally chuckling as everyone added something to the discussion about the dreams. "Who knew that hanging around a bunch of good-doers will be this much fun?" She thought. Nawen's face grew more red as the talk about dreams progressed. "You... you... me... under... underdressed?" She sort of stated more than asked. No one's ever said anything like this to her before, and the strange part was that she wasn't offended by it at all. No, quite the contrary. She somewhat liked it? "By the gods! What is wrong with me?" She thought as she looked down at the plate in her hands. "So... aside from sparring, what more can we do in this middle of nowhere?" Shalena asked.
  6. "Dreams? I didn't-" Nawen began speaking as her eyes searched around the camp for anything more interesting than her dreams. That's when she noticed that Tannin was working on her armor. Did he work on it all night? "So... how's the armor coming along?" She asked, "did you work on it all this time?" Shalena was clearly enjoying at how flustered Nawen was. The piratess laughed until her stomach ached. "I'm sure that her dreams were very interesting," she winked, "if you get my meaning." "You're not helping!" Nawen quickly added as she tried to focus all her attention on the food. "Hey, look, breakfast is finished! Anyone hungry?" "I could help but interpreting them for Tannin if you'd like." Shalena grinned as she took some of the food. "How about you shut up," Nawen said as she handed out plates with food to everyone. The piratess chuckled and turned her attention to Daud as she heard him mentioning gems. "Got any more of those shiny gems? Gems are pretty." She grinned.
  7. Shalena was drinking wine when Hexol started flirting with Dagny. She spit out her drink and burst out into laughter. She laughed until Azuris carried him away to one of the cabins. "That little guy is great," the piratess said as she stood up and headed for one of the cabins, "I could use someone like him on my crew." She said as she walked past her crew. The pirates started at their captain with their eyes wide in horror. Some even shuddered, even the usually quiet quartermaster mumbled in disapproval. The inside of the cabin was warm and quite cozy, but the piratess was far too sleepy to look around any further. She picked a cot farther from the door and windows and crashed on it fully clothed. What she did not expect was to hear a loud "Ow!" coming from underneath her. Shalena jumped on her feet in surprise only to see a very displeased Nawen covering her left eye with her hand. "Of all cots in this room you just had to chose mine." The drow complained. "It's your fault for choosing the one I wanted," the piratess replied as she picked the other cot and began undressing herself, "besides, you wouldn't complain if that purple eyed half-drow fell on you." She glanced at the drow and noticed that she was blushing. "You hit me in the eye!" Nawen said and then added, "probably gave me a black eye too." "A little pain never hurt anyone," Shalena said as she slipped under the covers, "goodnight, dear drow." "I hope you'll have nightmares." Nawen mumbled. "And I hope you'll have very pleasant dreams." Shalena replied with the chuckle. =================================== The next morning when Shalena woke up, Nawen's cot was already empty. The piratess got dressed quickly and went outside. She found her crew already up and about, and Nawen was making breakfast for the group by the fire pit. "Morning," the piratess greeted everyone outside as she sat down on the ground by the fire pit, "anyone had any interesting dreams," she asked and then glanced at the drow, "Nawen?" The drow said nothing as she looked up from the food and gave Shalena the 'I hate you so much' look. The piratess laughed, "thought so."
  8. "I'm- I'm alright," Nawen said as she finally stopped laughing and wiped the tears from her eyes. Gods, she hadn't laughed like this in what felt like forever. She nearly broke out into laughter again after hearing Hexol flirting with Dagny, but this time managed to constrain herself. "Right... I think I'll retire for the night as well." She said as she went to the cabin closest to her. She opened the door and peeked inside first just to make sure that there were really no confused and scared people inside ready to throw various objects at them. The cabin was empty. Nawen picked the cot farthest from the door and placed her pack beside it, Rhegar who snuck inside after her, curled into a ball beside her things. Nawen patted him on the head gently before taking off her boots and settling in comfortably for the night. "Now... time to count the sheep." She said to herself as she started at the ceiling.
  9. "Did he just call me beautiful?" Nawen thought as she smiled back at him, "how should I...?" "Then I expect more stories in the future. I won't let you get off that easy." She chuckled, and looked back at the cabins. She loved camping outside, she did that most of her life after all, but she could get used to sleeping in comfortable beds. As long as they don't have bed bugs, or fleas... or both. The idea that Tannin magically stole the cabins from somewhere else and that they might see someone inside was not only amusing, but so funny to the point where she began laughing heartily. She didn't laugh often, and it was probably the first time some of her friends hear her laughing. Shalena smiled widely as she listened to Aurora talk. "I hope we'll go to Waterdeep at some point," she said, "I'd be so interested to see those backstreets. I usually stick to the docks if we dock somewhere, though I could show you some backstreets I know in Westgate, Starmantle, any city with the docks in the Sea of Fallen Stars really." The piratess said grinning. What she didn't say is that her familiarity with the backstreets of dock districts were most of the time of different nature than that of bardess's. She preferred cleaner environments for that.
  10. "I've been to the Moonstone Mask once, before Neverwinter war with Luskan," Shalena said after Rhaine shared her story, "I liked it much better back then, now that was a good brothel!" "That sounds fair," Nawen said, "I'm not trying to pry or anything, and you don't have to tell me stories to have my attention. You always-" she paused and frowned to herself a little. Why does it have to be so hard to express the most simple emotions to her? "You know..." she trailed off as he went back to the camp and she noticed how he conjured up several cabins. When he returned she started at him and the cabins wide eyed. "That was amazing! I didn't know you could do that!" She exclaimed. "I didn't know that was even possible!" She leaned against the tree trunk and sighed heavily, "now I really regret that time when my guardian tried to teach me a few spells, but I wasn't interested."
  11. Shalena folded her arms across her chest when Sybille asked Rhaine about any juicy stories and brothels. She doubted that the Doomguide had any to share. "I have a lot of stories about brothels," the piratess spoke, "most of them end with fighting and occasional fire." "Oh, I don't know," Nawen said as pulled her own pack closer and searched for clean clothes, "I don't think that we ever got in trouble because of our race." When Tannin began his story, Nawen listened intently about his adventure, she only got up to change into clean clothes once she got cold, but then quickly got back to her spot and listened to the rest of it. It wasn't as exciting as she thought, but still she enjoyed the story and it was another opportunity to get to know him a little bit better. He wasn't talking much about himself but then again neither did she. When Tannin was done she sat quietly for a moment, thinking everything through. "So did you eventually found that gem?" She asked but then she realized another thing he said. "Wait... you spent seventy maybe eighty years with them? I never thought that half-drow look this good... uhm... young when they're over eighty years old." After a brief moment of silence she spoke again: "You shouldn't end stories by saying that the better stories comes much later unless you want me to keep asking you to tell them." She smiled lightly.
  12. "Me-ow!" Shalena said after Weyland's catfight comment. She would have enjoyed to see one, even proposed a bet, but alas it seemed that there will be no fighting. Still, it was amusing to watch the little scene, and since she was sitting close to Arva, she nudged the sun elf. "Does this happen often," she asked, " I mean, the jealousy outbursts?" She then listened to both Conall's and Aera's stories with her brow slightly furrowed. She knew very little of werewolves but to her it seemed that their affliction had no downsides, apart from turning into a creepy animal-like beast.
  13. Nawen was taken aback that Tannin seemed to like whatever she did. She put her knife away, sat beside him and looked at him. "Don't get me wrong, I appreciate you looking out for me like this, I really do. In fact no one did that before you, but I'm not some damsel in distress, I can protect myself-" she said as for a moment she glanced at the pond, "but that doesn't mean I want you to stop." She said as she looked back at him and smiled. "It's nice to know that someone cares." "And you will tell me that story you owe me." She added when he mentioned working on her armor. After what he made for Rhaine, she was curious to see how an armor he's making will look like, and while she didn't say anything, Nawen was really glad to see how he makes some of it.
  14. Nawen quickly put her arms across her chest to cover herself as she heard someone talking, but when she heard it was Tannin she relaxed a bit and continued bathing as he spoke until he said the word defenseless. "I'll show him defenseless." She thought as she went towards the tree and grabbed the linen shirt from the branch and put it on. She then took out her knife and started sneaking towards him. Carefully watching her step, she sneaked behind Tannin and held her knife just inches away from his throat. She then leaned closer and whispered in his ear, "I am not defenseless."
  15. Nawen finished cleaning the bison meat they brought to the camp while others chatted with the dragon. She got some spices from her pack and put them on the meat they could cook tonight, and despite what the silver said, they'll need more meat. She searched around the camp for a frying pan, and once she thought the meat had marinated enough, she placed the frying pan above the fire. The fire pit was large enough for the meat and kabobs. Rhegar trotted happily into the camp with the rabbit he caught in his teeth. He dropped the animal in front of Gizmo and Sir Meowsalot and with his nose pushed the rabbit towards the two cats. Nawen noticed this and chuckled at the rather odd sight. "It looks like Rhegar wants to share," she said as she took the rabbit, cleaned it, and split it into five portions: bigger ones for Gizmo, Rhegar and Sir Meowsalot, and two smaller ones for Aodh and Kyli, but seeing how it wasn't enough, she added some bison meat too. Shalena ate her kabob as she listened to the conversation. "A dragon was hitting on you?" She asked, "this I have to hear." Even if the wide and open seas was her preferred place to be, an evening at the camp so far was really fun and she genuinely enjoyed it. Once the last pieces of bison meat were prepared for cooking, Nawen picked up her pack and glanced at the others, "Now if you'll excuse me, I really need to take a bath." With that said she left the camp and headed a bit north to look for a secluded place where she could bathe undisturbed. =========================================== It didn't take long for her to find one such place. A small pond with a large tree growing beside the shore, one of its branches was growing low above water, so Nawen hung her linen shirt she usually slept in, in case she needed to cover herself quickly. She placed her pack against the tree and took out a bar of soap, and looked around the site. When she made sure that she really was alone stripped naked and went into the water. The water was cool and oh so refreshing.
  16. I'm a bit stuck at the moment, so I'll post something tomorrow, if that's alright with everyone.
  17. Ooh, it looks amazing, Auri!   Love it. Such an epic poster.   I also kind of fast-forwarded, and we're back at the camp. Hope Josh and Quint won't mind. :ohdear:
  18. "I don't suppose you carry any hunting knives with you?" Nawen asked as she began cleaning the animal. She left most of her equipment back at the camp, as she wasn't expecting to catch anything this big, and now they'll have to leave quite a lot of it behind. "Though you could also watch out for any more animals that might have caught the scent of the blood." Nawen knew that the sounds bison made while he tried to escaped scared some animals off, but it didn't matter to her as they already caught one big enough for the dinner. As she cleaned the animal she looked up at the sky and noticed a dragon circling above something. "Must be our camp. We always attract trouble." She thought as she started cleaning the meat as fast as she could, and cutting best pieces to take with them, while leaving the rest for the animals. As she was done, she took some cloth bags from her pack to carry the meat back to the camp where they could cook some and salt whatever was left. "If that dragon won't eat us all first." She thought to herself as she handed a bag to those who remained with her, she took one herself and rushed back to the camp. "Stupid dragon, why does it have to be a dragon?" She mumbled as she hurried to reach the camp before the dragon landed or burned their friends from above. While she ran back to the camp, Rhegar caught up with her, carrying a large rabbit in his teeth. When they reached the camp, Nawen ran towards the fire pit shouting, "we need to leave, there's a dra-" she stopped in her tracks as she noticed the silver dragon in the camp, and Rhaine was talking to him, "gon..." She started at the dragon while trying to catch her breath. She ran as fast as she could to reach her friends before it was too late, and it was all for nothing. The silver dragons are known to be friendly. "Uh... hello." She smiled sheepishly. ================================= Shalena jumped from her spot by the fire when the dragon landed in their camp. "By the hells," she exclaimed, "this is the second dragon I see while traveling with you lot. How many dragons have you encountered before we joined?!" Moments later when nobody else seemed scared by the dragon, and the Doomguide even invited him to stay at the fire, she sat down again but still feeling rather wary of the dragon.
  19. Nawen shot a glance at Theia and said, "good for you." She then focused her attention to the watering place while also listening to Tannin's story. Once he finished she looked at him with the slight frown on her face. "That's not a very pleasant thought," she said, "and I really hope that it's not the case... but, thank you for, you know, looking out for me." She said and smiled to him warmly. As she looked back at the watering place, she noticed a single adult bison coming out of the woods. As the animal neared to the water, Nawen picked her bow off the ground and notched an arrow, and waited. As the bison walked past the bushes where some of them were hiding, he suddenly stopped. At first Nawen feared that he may have caught their scent, but even if he did, it wasn't the reason why he stopped. Before she could do or say anything, the animal began roaring and trying to get something off it's feet. The animal triggered one of Xundus's traps. The drow aimed at the animal and shot at another foot. Figuring, it would be faster to end this with a blade, she drew her sword and emerged from their hiding place. "I'll make this quick." She thought to herself as she got closer to the bison. Just like she said to herself, the killing blow was swift and as painless as she could possible make. "Now comes the least favorite part," she said as she whipped the blood of her blade, and pulled out her skinning knife, "we won't be able to bring all of it, so if any of you don't feel like staying, it's as good as time as any to get back to the camp." ================================ Shalena got out of the water and went straight near the fire. She shot a glance at Lucas as he seemed to have regained his consciousness. "The poor lad wouldn't last a day in the Pirate Isles." She chuckled. "No naked nymphs, but plenty of sights to get the nosebleed."
  20. Nawen watched Xundus as he was setting the traps, but said nothing. While they did not seem big enough to trap an animal large enough for the whole group, but they could always take more meat with them. She glanced at Daud as he climbed into a tree but before she could say anything Theia did it for her. "Just sit here or anywhere you wish and wait," Nawen said as she leaned against the tree trunk, "it's not a perfect position, but it hides us well enough." The drow then placed her bow and quiver in front of her, and glanced at Tannin as he spoke. "What-" she bang, but then paused. "Was it really that noticeable?" She thought and let out a sigh. "I thought it was good enough at the time, but I guess not. Couldn't convince you." She should have known by now that tricking someone like Tannin was impossible for someone like her, but while she wasn't a good liar she wasn't blind either. She leaned closer to Tannin and spoke quietly so only he could hear. "Why did you really go with us? Is it because of Theia, and her hatred of our people, or is it because of someone else?" She asked, emphasizing on someone, hinting that Tannin may not have been too subtle about some things.
  21. Nawen picked up her bow, and called Rhegar to come out from the water, where he happily swam among the rest of the party. She waited for Daud, Xundus and Theia to collect their weapons, but when she heard Tannin saying that he will join as well. "We could use an extra pair of eyes," she said as she waited for him, "but you don't have to go if you don't want to." Nawen obviously didn't mind Tannin joining them, but still, to her it seemed that he'd rather stay in the water than go out hunting, especially when she couldn't guarantee if they're going to find anything in the first place. When everyone were ready to go, Nawen walked deeper into the forest, clearly happy to be in her element again after so many weeks of sea travel, cities and inns. She noticed a rabbit running off at the sight of them that Rhegar ran after, but since it was only one and not very big one, she decided to leave it alone. After walking some more, they stumbled upon a lake with the animal footprints nearby. "It must be the watering place." She said as she looked around for a good place to hide, and wait. "There," she said as she pointed at the large thick bushes to the left of the lake, "it should be a good place to wait." Nawen walked towards the bushes and sat on the ground behind them. "Yep. Good place indeed."
  22. So here's my Mulhorand character.
  23. Shalena caught the bar of soap, but before starting washing herself she shot a glance at her crewmen. Some were unpacking things and gathering wood for the fire, while more lecherous ones eyed the women in the water. The captain shook her head before throwing a bar of soap at one of the pirates who was ogling the female members of the group. "Do make use of that soap, boys." She shouted at them as she got another bar of soap. Some of her crewmen whined and groaned, a few even cussed. "Now, now! Clean yourselves or I'll release your horses into the wilds." Shalena laughed. Nawen noticed how some seemed surprised or even shocked how most of their group were taking a bath together in the lake, but Nawen wasn't. Still, she preferred to bathe in private and decided to do it later. For now, she thought it would be a good idea to hunt, and catch something fresh for dinner. "I'm going out to hunt!" She shouted so that those in the lake could hear her. Turning to those on the shore she asked: "Anyone want to go with me?"
  24. Nawen, after her sudden and unexplainable awkward moment stayed further away from the group and looked after the horses. She heard Weyland's comment but before she could reply to it, his sister Sybille came up with a much better comeback than she could have, so she focused her attention back on the horses. She looked back at the group when she heard the sound of water splashing. It was then she noticed how scarred Tannin was. She looked at him for a very brief moment, her eyes wide in horror before looking away, in case anyone got any more ideas about it. She could not believe how one person could have so many scars. During her time with Ilmater priests she had seen a lot of injured people with all kind of wounds, but nothing like this. Nawen forgot her previous embarrassing moment as she now felt sorry for Tannin and wished that she could help him in some way about it. Shalena chuckled at Nawen's strange behavior, and once the drow walked off, the piratess stripped until she was wearing only her undergarments, climbed into a tree closest to the lake and dived into the water.
  25. As soon as Shalena and her crew arrived at the site of their soon-to-be camp, the pirates began working on building tents and searching for the wood for the fire while Shalena looked at the lake. "Finally a good place to take a bath." The piratess said as she looked around. "It's rather small." Nawen said as she admired the scenery. "What? Got something to hide," Shalena asked, "or hide from someone?" She added as she noticed Tannin. He always seemed awfully friendly with certain women of the group. "No I'm just-" the drow began talking as she followed Shalena's glance and noticed where she was looking but then looked away, "that's just ridicu-" Nawen continued as she walked away from the piratess but then nearly tripped over one pirate who was building a tent, "watch where yer goin'!" He shouted angrily. "Sorry!" Nawen said as she backed away and then bumped into someone. She spun around and saw Tannin. "I'm not hiding anything at you... I mean I wasn't looking from you," she blurted out, "I mean sorry." She said as she rushed towards the horses. "What the hells happened?!" She thought to herself as she walked as fast as she could while avoiding eye contact with anyone.
