  1. I don't know the exact ins and outs of it, but I'm aware of workarounds that were used in the early days to achieve something like this. These methods circumvented animation issues by creating an alien "costume" of sorts for the player character. The process involved overlaying alien features onto the existing character model, effectively disguising the player as an alien without requiring entirely new animations or character models. This technique allowed for visual variety without the need for extensive new programming or animation work. However, I'm not well-versed in what would be required to turn this into a fully playable race with unique characteristics and abilities. That would likely involve more complex game development processes beyond simple visual modifications.
  2. What exactly is your issue with me? I'm struggling to understand the kind of response you're looking for or what you would consider positive. Instead, you're hurling accusations at me about "forcing people to walk my path" and shutting myself in some kind of "echo chamber." I'm genuinely confused - in what way have I wronged you? Do you want me to say that my mod idea sucks and I suck for suggesting it? That it's a a horrible idea? Because I don't agree with you on that and I don't want to pretend that I do.
  3. No, ytou're being quite hostile. As for why I want to do it. There are reasons people would want to do this. Maybe they're going for a pacifist rout or they want to use mods involving Benny like Benny Returns but don't want to be railroaded in to walking in to an obvious ambush and let Benny get away for this to happen. If you are so opposed ot the idea then by all menas ignore the thread just cease your accusations, assertions, and insinuations.
  4. I am no t asking you to "play sycophant". I am asking you to at least be constructive instead of only telling me that my ideas are terrible and whatever. Why have you been so hostile towards me this entire thread? Yous tarted wit h accusations against my character right out of the gate. It is not productive or helpful to eit her of us. What has convinced you that I am some evil monster intent on, or even capable of any of what you accuse me of? What vile monstrous thing did I do to evoke this degree of hostility form you?
  5. I kindly urge you to refrain from your efforts to vilify me. If the idea I’ve presented doesn’t resonate with you, there are numerous options available on this page to exit the thread rather than contributing unproductive criticism and unnecessary negativity. Constructive dialogue is always welcome, but baseless discouragement only detracts from meaningful conversation. Let’s focus on fostering a more positive and productive exchange.
  6. If the idea doesn’t resonate with you and you choose not to support it, that’s completely fine—I’m not here to force anyone. Participation in this thread is entirely voluntary. If you strongly dislike the concept or disagree with me for proposing it, you’re free to step away at any time. However, I don’t see the value in constantly criticizing my request or trying to discourage me at every opportunity. Constructive feedback is welcome, but negativity without purpose doesn’t help anyone.
  7. Is Benny’s personality truly a decisive factor in crafting an alternative pacifist route to secure the Platinum Chip—one that doesn’t require the player to willingly march into a blatant, immersion-breaking ambush? Let’s dissect this. If the goal is to empower players to resolve conflicts through cunning and diplomacy (core pillars of role-playing!), then Benny’s characterization should enhance flexibility, not restrict it. Consider this: Persuading Swank to betray Benny already neutralizes the threat of his allies retaliating. This creates a logical pathway for a non-lethal resolution that the game’s current design overlooks. The contradiction here undermines player agency. Why force a ‘gotcha’ ambush scenario when mods like Benny Returns exist to expand narrative possibilities? By integrating Swank’s betrayal as a trigger for bypassing the ambush entirely, players could organically confront Benny on their terms—using dialogue, stealth, or strategic alliances. This wouldn’t just fix a plot hole; it would reward creative problem-solving and align with the game’s ethos of choice-driven storytelling.
  8. What about non-lethally subduing him either in the Presidential Suite or in his own suite? there have to be smarter no n-lethal alternatives to just letting him escape to The Fort with the chip.
  9. This mod idea isn’t just “canon-friendly”—it’s necessary. It fills a gap in the NCR’s story, empowers players to roleplay as the Republic’s finest, and transforms the Mojave into a living testament to their ambition. Build it, and the NCR stans (and even a few Legion sympathizers, secretly) will come.
  10. I hope you don't mind me asking, but could you clarify what you meant by your earlier comments? I want to emphasize that my intention isn’t to cause frustration—I was simply trying to explore options for using Benny Returns in a way that avoids both killing him and feeling forced into what the game presents as an unavoidable trap. To me, it feels like an unnecessary limitation, and I thought tweaking this scenario could offer more player agency, similar to how other mods adjust dialogue or quest outcomes. I completely respect your perspective, but I’m struggling to understand the concern about this idea. Since this is purely a personal preference—not something I’d expect others to adopt—I’m unsure why the analogy of ‘making people walk my road’ applies here. Many existing mods cater to niche preferences without impacting others’ gameplay, so I’d genuinely appreciate your insight on why this case might differ. Thank you for taking the time to discuss this!
  11. I’ve been stuck on this issue for a while. In the quest involving Benny, it feels like the only options are to either kill him or let him trick you and escape. Is there truly no way to resolve this part of the quest without resorting to violence or letting him screw you over?
  12. https://staticdelivery.nexusmods.com/mods/130/images/78062/78062-1661104393-1698246435.jpeg Does anyone know what mod this background is from? It looks like it's some Lucky suite mod but i'm not sure.
  13. Would someone be interested in do\ing this? The player has the option to declare him/herselfr the new Lord of the Pitt so why not turn the lights back on in Uptown, establish Haven as your new base in the area and start making improvements? Maybe some dialogue checks for htigns like when you get hte options for Big Town? Set up trade? Arm and equip all fo the freed slaves? establish bases? turrets? etc et instead of just letting that who9le area fall to the trogs?
  14. So I"m looking at AWKCR and I"m wodnering if there is somethign similar to its pigment and texture swappign systemf or weapons or rather what a lto of people prefer to use to this effect.
  15. thanks for trying but not quite what I was asking about. I used mailbox posts as an example pacifically because I mostly mean mass scrapping of world objects by type rather than inventory items. Fromw hat I've seen and havn't seen it doesn't seem possible but I thought i'd ask. But again thank you for the suggestion.
