  1. So, I downloaded and installed the Categorized Favorites Menu mod by favmenumodder, and I like it a lot. The only problem with it was that it wouldn't detect or it would put weapons/items from mods into different categories. For example, it would put the Anduril sword form the LOTR mod into misc. Because of this I tried using a compatibility patch with my mods and got this http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/34150/? It detects all my mods and puts them in the right categories, but the problem is that there is always a slight delay when I open the favorites menu and when I click on something on the menu. It's like a full second delay, which is really annoying when I want to open something quickly. I didn't have this delay problem with the original version, so I'm guessing the compatibility add on is doing this? I've tried similar mods to add compatibility with CFM and my other mods, but I kept getting the same problem: the full second delay when opening the favorites menu (it'd freeze the game for a second, then open the favorites menu) and it'd also have a delay when I choose something on the menu. Is there a way to get rid of the annoying delay?
  2. Use the Unofficial Skyrim Patch, this mod fixes that problem and a lot of other things. Even if you play without mods, the unofficial patch is a must for any Skyrim player on PC. http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/19
  3. Your framerate stays the same at low and high settings because you have V-sync enabled. You obviously have a monitor with a refresh rate of 60 hertz, which means it will limit your FPS to 60 if V-sync is enabled. I recommend keeping V-sync on though, because if you take it off you could easily be getting 100+ and the game physics just flip out as soon as you pass around 100 FPS.

  5. I'd suggest lowering everything to the lowest possible if you're getting that low of a framerate. Also, how do you manage to play with that low an FPS? I can't play at 40. But here are some mods that could help your FPS: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/32505 http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/15123 Try this also: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/814 This is basically a more advanced version of options for skyrim. You can change a lot from here such as shadow quality, etc. Also, this is another good mod to improve performance. Just read the instructions on getting the fps boost: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/33582 Another way to get a bit more FPS is to set Windows for best performance. To do this on Win7 first click on start, then control panel, click on "System and Security", then click "System" and then click on "Advanced System Settings" on the a list to the left. Once you click that a window will appear and under performance, click on settings and check the "Adjust for best performance" This will make things look ugly and give you a Windows 2000 theme, but it should give you a boos of 5-10 FPS.
  6. You know nothing gsmanners... I've got over 450 hours in Skyrim... I've played much more than 5 minutes. Do I have to post a screen shot from within Steam? *facepalms* He meant to play more than 5 minutes with your level 81. And 450 hours? Please, kid if we were going to have an argument on who has no life I'd win.
  7. Skyrim is set in an alternate universe, so their Dragons could be our Wyverns. Just saying.
  8. That usually happens when there are multiple main file versions. For example, someone makes a home mod, but a lot of people don't like an added feature, so the mod author made a separate version to remove that specific feature. It's just a safety precaution so that you download the one you wan to download.
  9. I'm playing Skyrim using this mod http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/9752, which retextures the Dark Brotherhood armor, but this mod also made it so you could disenchant the "Double Sneak Attack Damage" enchantment on the gloves. So I thought this was just great and used the console command to add another DB armor glove and I disenchanted that to get the enchantment, but to my surprise I can't put that enchantment on any other armor piece. So my question is, is it possible I can remove the Bacstab enchantment from my known enchantments and/or fix the Dark Brotherhood Gloves so I don't disenchant them in the future.
  10. It's either Cnet is wrong or you're wrong whether your laptop has an Nvidia card also or not. As psalvo has said earlier, we need to be sure you have an Nvidia card, and if you are certain you do have an Nvidia card then that is the latest driver for Nvidia.
  11. If you want you could try this mod: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/15123 It's called HIALGOBOOST GPU UPGRADE and what it does is it lowers your resolution temporarily while you move your character around, so you could probably get around 20ish FPS if you used this.
  12. I'm guessing everyone knows the sound of when plates or other objects clatter together when they are really close or the sound of when things get stuck? Well, after patching Skyrim for the new update I'm getting that noise every time I enter into anything. My houses, shops and even dungeons and it's driving me crazy. How do I get rid of that annoying clattering sound? What's even weirder is when I look towards where the sound is coming from it stops, but as soon as I turn around the clattering begins again. There also doesn't seem to be any problems with where the clattering objects are places, which is even weirder since a plate that is sitting perfectly still is making those annoying noises. Ok, I just found an even weirder problem. I tried to record my problem on fraps, but as soon as I turn on fraps the problem stops.
  13. Hi, before I start, let me tell you that I'm entirely new to the Nexus and that I don't have a single clue as to what I'm doing. So before I ask my question, I apologize if this question has been asked many times. My question is: Will mods downloaded from Steam's workshop for Skyrim interfere with mods downloaded from Nexus? Thanks in advance.
