  1. Are there any mods yet for Fallout 4 that are in the same spirit as Skyrim's Hunterborn? Skill tree based skinning and ingredient/meat harvesting, time is used doing each process. Special rewards and unique items that can be crafted. One of my favorite characters from Skyrim was my Nord hunter. Didn't really play any of the main quests with him, just enjoyed the game world surviving and making a living as a simple NPC, and Hunterborn was a key mod in the experience.
  2. Is there anyone who would be willing to convert all of the Foresworn, including Madanoch, into Argonians? I'm a big fan of the Argonian race, but I've been looking for a way to give them a more tribal feel in the game. The Forsworn are perfect with their hide armors and tents, bone weapons, and hostile attitude. I'd especially love to use this mod for my Tropical Skyrim play through. Thanks!
  3. This is like the third request for a mod of this sort, and I have to say I'm all for all of them! Would be perfect for my hunter character I know the birds in game are pretty much useless, but I wonder if the behavior files and some of the animations could be borrowed from dragons? Would really like to see this in game
  4. I think this would be Great! I RP my characters a lot, and often start them off as young men barely into their teens, so they usually start with a very short beard/stubble. Would be cool to have an easier option than showracemenu to show progression in their hair and beard as they 'age'
  5. I was looking at the recent hotfile entry of Greek Armor Revamped http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/64215/? This mod got me to thinking. Is there anyone out there who would be willing to create a mod that gives Skyrim a Greek overhaul? By that I mean this mod along with any others that are appropriate (with the author's permission of course) to replace the vanilla armors in the game? For example, Greek Armor has several color variations of each armor. Using this, we could use each armor's color variation to align it with the different factions in the game. The red armor could be the Empire, the blue armor would of course be the Stormcloaks, the black might be the Thalmore. The robes and togas would be perfect for Jarls, Thanes, mages, and priests. I've always been fairly lore minded, but since getting Mod Organizer I've opened my horizons to different looks to my game with it's option for multiple profiles. A Greek Skyrim, especially with the fantastic armors and robes available in Greek Armor Revamped, would be a very cool alternate look for the game
  6. I'm all for this; would be great for the immersion factor. You're right, you see Thanes holding a great deal of sway in each Jarl's court, but when we get the title it's like 'ok thanks bye.' Would really like to see some work put toward this or the Immersive Jobs post that was up here recently. That request and this one would fit together nicely
  7. For the sake of options you could also have said letter sent by Jarl Gray-Mane if we side with the Stormcloaks. Basically the castle is a reward from whichever faction you side with
  8. Isn't it Frostfall that adds snowshoes to the game and give a plus to movement if wearing them in the snow? If so that would be a great place to start; adding some of the dynamics you're talking about
  9. I had Professions and eventually uninstalled it. I feel like the creator had the right idea, but couldn't quite reach the right application. All that does is give some minor skill learning perks or penalties based on your normal actions. If I choose hunter, I get the biggest bump to my skill progression for doing hunter stuff. This isn't a job: it doesn't modify my payment for completing these tasks, it doesn't give me a boss, it doesn't give me goals to complete. And worse everything else still can bump the progression just not as much. If I'm an alchemist I still get a minor bump for upgrading my armor and weapons. I think what the OP wants, and what I Know I'd love to see, is a mod that actually functions like a job. If I'm a hunter, I get more freedom. Say I'm the bondsman to Sidger in Falkreth (sp): I have to return at least once every one/two/whatever days with a certain amount of meat. Maybe throw in random events: he's throwing a feast for a visiting head of state so I have to bring three times my normal quota within a certain amount of time, but as a reward I get a big bump in pay. As a chef I have to report in to my boss on my 'shift' (say you only work three or four days a week; this gives you plenty of time to moonlight as the dragonborn when not slaving in the kitchen). You are given a set of ingredients. You can use them to make the most basic meals, or combine them as you level and learn new recipes to create delicacies; your pay would be determined by the quality of food and the amount made inside of the time limits of your shift I'd be thrilled to see a job as a town guard. You clock in at your assigned shift, and from there you patrol the streets. Random events would then be triggered throughout the day: break up a fist fight (two citizens brawling; as you approach they both become hostile and you have to beat them down), track a murderer (Mount and Blade fashion, except you're given a location by a witness and you track the bastard down. Early level the criminal is inside the city, mid level sergeant and hes somewhere in the Hold, late level investigator/captain and you have to track the killer across Skyrim), Stop attempted killings/run down murderers you see in the act (ala Markarth), escort a Thane on his journey to another hold, even Protect the Jarl. As a sergeant you can be sent to "quell bandit raids." Lead a troop of maybe four other guards to a village (if you're a guard in Whiterun, travel to Riverwood, if you're a Windhelm guard, go to protect Kynsgrove, etc.). After entering the town, a bandit raid is triggered. I know those are some massive projects, but anything that at least makes an attempt in that direction is what I'd really like to see
  10. I was going to make a request that focused on requesting that the Gray-Mane brothers Avulstein and Thorald be made into followers. I discovered Rhowington's mod 'Return of Thorald': http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/38534/? making me second guess a request. However, after completing Moss Mother Cavern quest for Valdr, I again reconsidered. I mention those three NPC's: Avulstein, Thorald, and Valdr, because despite their interesting stories, despite our helping them, AND despite their surviving the quest, they do not become followers. There are many more that I could mention, but these three stand out to me because they don't even work with the option we can typically use to cure this situation - using ATF or similar mod to force the NPC to become a follower anyway. I tried this on all three. With the Gray-Mane brothers, after completing Missing in Action I used the Make Follower spell on both of them. Both tried to follow, had proper dialog, but still ran way to whatever realm of Oblivion Bethesda condemned them to. With Valdr, after completing his quest at Moss Mother Cavern and waiting for him to properly bury his comrades, I used the spell on him and although the spell seemed to work by notifying me that one less follower slot was now available, I couldn't engage him in conversation. The point of all this is, has anyone considered making a sweeping mod that includes all the obviously intriguing NPC's that we do quests for or with, and making those who do not have the option to become followers? Rhowington did it for Thorald, and although I haven't had time test it yet he seems to have done an excellent job by making him fully voiced and updated his looks (He apparently did not modify the vanilla Thorald and just added a new NPC to the game with the backstory and custom dialog for Thorald). Not looking for anything that in depth; that could be a project for later if the interest in it really takes off. I know there are a LOT more than these three vanilla NPC's that I mentioned who should have become followers automatically. Angi for instance, as well as Sinding from Ill Met by the Moonlight. Is this a project that interests anyone? Or something that has already been done that I just haven't found yet?
  11. There is also a GREAT collection of Viking swords, axes, bows and arrows in the mod 'Chronicals of Steel.' One of my very favorite mods There was also another great mod I just recently discovered; think it was called Middle Ages helms? Adds a lot of exceptionally well made helmets and are very historic
  12. Whole heartedly agree. This has always been a problem and it's very immersion breaking. If Bethesda was too lazy to even correct and add to the dialog options for NPC's who meet a character who finished a guild quests (harbinger of the companions walks down the street, random ass guard "what do you do, fetch the mead?"), than I guess a framework to actually BE the leader of the guild you just took over is way beyond the scope. Would dearly love to see this fixed, not only for the guilds but also for the civil war factions and Thane roles as AG97 suggested
  13. ^ Thanks for the link! I've wanted something like this myself just for variety's sake but hadn't seen it
  14. There's a mod that does this. Haven't tested it - I think it's called Sneak Skills? Search sneak and you should find it - adds popup options for killing NPC's when you sneak up to them and new arrows that assist stealth based characters
  15. Oh I'm absolutely certain it wouldn't be easy lol I found the wolf mod that includes feeding and growing the pet: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/39625/? If someone was to take up this mod and wants to use the idea of raising the bird or dragon from an egg, this might be helpful as a template
  16. Couldn't a lot of the behavior files, AI, and maybe even the skeleton template be borrowed from dragons? They're the closest thing to what we want currently in the game. They'd just have to be shrunk of course, and a total overhaul of their skeleton, not to mention finding textures and meshes made/found independently. But using them as a template might make it a lot easier.
  17. This would be perfect for players who RP their Bosmer characters; it would give a real feel of being one with nature. There were never enough pets in the vanilla game. Would be great for my Nord Hunter as well. The historic and even current uses of falconry to help hunters is well documented, so this would be great for immersion. Speaking of immersion, what might be a cool way to start the quest is to find and start with an egg: either hawk, eagle, dragon - hell maybe throw in some peaceful creatures that are just around for fun or add a stat boost (a dove could add to your healing skill, a crow to your destruction, etc). The egg stays in your inventory until it hatches, at which time it remains in your inventory but you must feed it for a specific amount of time. When your pet is old enough to fly you can deploy it either by a spell, or if possible make it a normal follower. There is an immersive wolf follower mod that I tried that does something similar. You find the pub next to his dead mother and raise it. You must feed it a certain amount every day, and it eventually grows from one stage to the next until it's full size. I had some kind of conflict and it didn't work for me, but would be a great template for something like this
  18. Definitely liking the sound of this. My favorite character to play right now is my hunter; I don't play him as the Dragon born but just my immersion based character. It's relaxing to get lost in the woods and mountains and little more simple life in the game, hunting for my food and selling the products of my adventures. I don't Need a mod like this, but it's a mod I'd love to have just for the immersiveness
  19. Found it: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/20727/? I dearly love Argonians, they're my favorite race in the game next to the Nords. I'd be willing to try this on my Tropical game, but I like the diversity.
  20. That'd be awesome! Greatly appreciate the help! I know of the mod you're talking about; I didn't know about it either because 'Argonian' isn't in the title, it's Lizard World or something along those lines. I've thought about using that for the playthrough, but just replacing the Forsworn would fit better with the story arch I've got worked out in my head.
  21. There are other applications this could be used for as well. What about simple trophy hunting? Even if you couldn't literally mount a wolf/deer/bear/etc animals head on your own wall, this would be a cool addition to something like Hunterborn. You could have the ability to loot animal's heads, take them as Arannor suggested and clean the skull in a cooking pot by combining it with other taxidermy ingredients. Then you take the skull to the tanning rack and combine it with leather and the appropriate antlers, teeth, hide, and firewood for a mount. When completed, depending on the quality of the product, the mount should be very valuable, giving you a monetary reason to hunt.
  22. I dig it. I RP most of my characters as NOT the Dragonborn, but instead just people trying to make their way in life. Was really surprised Alternate Start didn't have an option for this
  23. I'd certainly be willing to accept that, but I've made that request before and never got a response (I have no modding experience at all. Four kids and work barely leave me with enough time to sometimes play, let alone try to learn how to mod). I don't know how this particular mod would work, but I was hoping that there would be a fairly simple way to change the Forsworn faction's racial affiliation from Breton to Argonian What I wanted originally in my village request was an underground village based on the first cell of Lost Knife Cave, the one with the entrance tunnel, then opens into a MASSIVE chamber with waterfalls, a central earthen column with a wooden platform built around it, and a couple of caves leading out of it. I wanted to modify that main chamber in a fashion like the historical city of Petra: a cave network that runs parallel with the main chamber walls and openings in it. The living areas, merchant shops, and work areas would basically be cut into the sides of the cavern chamber with tunnels connecting them to each other and to the main exits. Would be something of an ant nest for lizards lol. the only other cell I really wanted for the village would be a deeper, lower chamber that would serve as the shaman's holy place where he takes care of the village's Hist tree
  24. Is there anyone who would be willing to make all of the Foresworn, including Madanoch, into Argonians? I'm a big fan of the Argonian race, but I've been looking for a way to give them a more tribal feel in the game. The Forsworn are perfect with their hide armors and tents, bone weapons, and hostile attitude. I'd especially love to use this mod for my Tropical Skyrim play through. Thanks!
