Sure no problem ^.^ there are only a couple unrecognized plugins but there is always a chance *edit* I did notice that birds.esp is incompatible with hearthfire. Most looked that way. But I'll double check. Also that script from earlier wasn't in any of my active mods so I believe I had orphaned scripts. But we'll find out after I get everything in order and try a new game

hmm. either way I'm starting a new game and I'm optimizing my load order and trying to cut back on the bulk and making sure they're all up to date. I'll then rerun boss and the fnis generator then try again. Guess we'll see ^.^

good point but these are the last messages logged fight before the game crashes. Also I get no error message the game either locks completely up (music still plays) or just closes to desktop... as far as uninstalling mods recently not anything ultimately important (skyrim simple save system and bigger trees being one of the removed mods) but I've actually built up my mod list as this was a fresh install of the game and I think my character was started around the same time... I can always start a new game and see if the effect persists, if not I'll be more than happy to restart.

I'm sure there are other forum topics on this, but none of them seem to apply to the type of freezing I'm getting (as least the ones I saw). So I appear to freeze or CTD at seemingly random times in the game, at first I though it was in exteriors only but I have encountered it in interiors as well. I enables logging and this is the result: [AT_MainQST12 (69004E18)].AT_MainQST12Script.OnUpdate() - "AT_MainQST12Script.psc" Line 32 [02/11/2013 - 03:58:13PM] VM is freezing... [02/11/2013 - 03:58:13PM] VM is frozen It appears that the script MainQST12Script is causing the issues (appears to be the freeze source on all the logs I have at the moment. As for what mod or dlc adds this I'm not certain (skyrim, dawnguard, hearthfire, dragonborn do not contain this script) So that makes this a mod problem(at least as far as I can see) Here is my current load order: As well as my system specs (most likely won't matter) hopefully I can get some light shed on this issue. Any and all help is appriciated (if you need more info just ask). As for me I'll continue to try and track down the script and what mod adds it in the creation kit.

nevermind solved I got the neon grass fix for the sharpshooter enb as well as the Dramatic clouds and revamped exterior fog mods

For some reason I get this weird fog issue when I play the game ...I do have sharpshooters extreme enb but it works fine all the time. Something doesn't look right to me unless this was an intended effect? ok after doing a complete reinstall ans using Ccleaner to fix any registry leftovers I proceeded to make a completely new character and once out of the tutorial I coc'd to all known crash locations and experienced none. So the issue.. for now is solved. the main issue now becomes reinstalling most of my mods (I'm fairly certain it wasnt a mod issue as I experienced the issue between installs of the game when i didnt clean everything out) but who knows... I think I may copy my obilvion folders in both locations as a back up then begin installing the mods. Thank you everyone for your help especially you Hickory. I very well could have installed my mods wrongly I'll admit so any tips may be welcome, I've been doing this for a long time but it is always possible I effed up -

all natural real lights should be installed correctly but I'll remove it just in case. Mainly because I installed in as an omod file on ObMM and it gave me the only real lights option. I use NMM on normal mods (not Omods) and i check that they are actually be installed correctly (mainly because so many oblivion mods were made before NMM and don't follow a standard format) I use ObMM to install most Omods because that tend to be more compatible with it than NMM (well at least oblivion mods) Finally i use BOSS to sort and Wyre Bash to make bashed patches. on a last note ill disable streamline, not sure if i need it anyways at this point ..::Update::.. The first test didn't work still crash by fort empire. I'll do the wait trick again to clear the data and try again nope didn't work Since I do have the Steam version I'll check the cache, who knows it may work.. I think at this point I may just do a complete reinstall, unless you have any more ideas? -

odd. This seemed to fix the crash between Vlverin and Aleswell but not the one near Bruma. ..::Update::.. This is really odd the crash zone the was between Aleswell and Vilverin seems to have migrated to between Fort Empire (bit west on the road from Aleswell) to Weye... The Bruma Crash still exists.. It's like this games sole ambition is to utterly refuse to let me play it... purely speculation but your fix did work when after doing everything i coc'd to vilverin exterior and it worked maybe if I do it again and coc into or around a crash zone it may fix it. Probably not needed but I find things are easier to solve with a visual representation.. Here is a map of my current and solved crash zones who knows it may prove usefull.. Map: -

ok I'm trying Hickory's fix that I saw in another thread Link: Oblivion crashes when loading exterior cells Thread Fix: I'll see if this works.... if not i have noticed a recurring theme.. the crashes are not random as I previously thought... they seem to occur on the road directly above the Imperial city between Aleswell and Vilverin and right outside Bruma (sometimes directly outside Cloud ruler temple or on the road from it to Bruma) I'm going to try it three ways: 1) with my mods because it crashed even without them 2) if #1 doesn't work I'll remove all mods except my current armor and other essential character feature mods 3) if nothing else works i'll remove everything and try it and then do a "showracemenu" command on myself if it works and restore my character ..::Update::.. option #1 Failed option #2 Failed - I'll check what ObMM mods i have enabled though most were disabled because they use esps but I do have hud mods and texture mods though I doubt they are causing the errors I'm also going to check ObMM and set up an archive Invalidation file -

this sort of requires a new post so sorry for the double post... ok I tested my game by removing all of my obse files and I still crashed in the same spot I've been testing.... so now moving on to my last options I do have obge and qarls texturepacks on not sure if that matters... I'm now at my wits end this is the third reinstall I've done on this game and I really don't want to reinstall again... I do have a NVidia card its the Nvidia Geforce 550 Ti ..::update::.. I've deleted my ini file and still crashes.... this game is determined to not let me play it. -

hmm some mods require ObSE v.19c try that and see if it continues it may fix the crashing but who knows *shrugs* oblivion is a very picky game -

agreed. I'll check adn see if that works so far with out all natural I crashed once; right as I was activating the door to Vilverin (I reactivated all natural but chose the only real lights option) maybe its just not agreeing with all natural all together... though I restarted the game reloaded and proceeded without a crash so far though I'm still in Vilverin. I'm going to try to play the game as long as possible to see how much I crash if it remains the same I'll deactivate ObSE and see if that's the issue... seeing as that solved your problem and ours are pretty similar it may just... only issue is I have a few mods (more than a few actually) that rely on ObSE. I'll also keep an eye on your thread too. who knows maybe we can get our oblivions to function without crashing *snickers* sorry couldn't say that with a straight face :P ..::Update::.. I still crash in exteriors, I'll have to see if disabling ObSE helps.... -

@ hickory sorry for the confusion when I grabbed my current mod list I forgot to grab the bashed patch in there as well. i had one but I was experimenting to see what was causing the crashes, but anyways I have an update. I just started a new character and my game crashed instantly, I went with my original hunch and removed All Natural from my mod list and the crashing stopped. Well at least when I started a new game, once I get into an exterior cell I think i'll know for sure. With all the fixing I was doing to oblivion I'm thinking I corrupted my old character. @ Strike I'll try disabling obse but I have mods that rely on it. Unless you mean downgrade to say v.19? Also yes our problems are similar only real difference is I have been having issues in exteriors since day one of my last character. Also as a final note I do use BOSS as well and have been organizing my load order that's why the crashing issues has completely baffled me. But I'm thinking it was probably character save corruption from all the changing and fixing I was doing to my mods to stop the crashing, guess we"ll see when I get out of the tutorial :P -

ugh ok well i was only lvl 3 anyways so i guess I can start over... i'll post again if it works. the problem may be that i was changing a lot to fix the problem only to cause a new one. -

I rebuilt my bashed patch and even cleaned mods that had dirty edits but still no effect. it still crashes (also I backed up my dirty mods just in case) Dirty Mods List: -

I thought the last fix would have solved the issue and it did for a time... but now it is back and worse than ever when I go into an exterior ill got for about 1-2 minutes before oblivion crashes... I went into the computermanager and looked up the crash and I'll also post my current mods. After deselecting them all though I get a crash on load of my current character and find that it will crash on load unless All Natural.esm and esp are loaded so it may be those plugins I'm hoping I can finally solve this problem mainly because I've been fixing endless bugs and have had very little time actually playing the game. I also applied a 4gb patch to the game but no effect still crashes Crash Report: Active Mod Files: *edit* As a last ditch effort I tried installing DirectX 9.0c to see if oblivion would work better. nope no effect still crashes... even tried the wait 72 hours fix (though the save i loaded was in an interior already not sure if that affects it) -

found the problem ^.^ it was RenGuardOverhaul.esp it would crash the game near the imperial city and if deactivated would crash the game instantly when I loaded it. Saved in interior removed the mod. then it worked fine.
