  1. Well it didn't clearly change anything for me, though it may have after I went and did some other things. But since I had the Courser chip code I went to Virgil and got plans, and asked Preston about it. That cleared it all up. He "saw" the settlements I already had, and asked to take the Castle. So from now on, its smooth sailing. I just won't talk to Sturges for a while lol.
  2. Regarding Ivy..... a) you can turn off her sexual speech easily. When v6 is ready, I'm doing a "music video" of "Ivy Does Nuka World" and she will be set, for that, to be a good girl. She won't like it, but she'll get over it. b) she does indeed do autonomous and directed hypercombat. I have it quick-keyed, for when sneaking and I want an over watch enemy removed, but she will engage all on her own. Reg says it has to do with your perks but he won't elaborate. She does it for me, in fact, sometimes I have to be careful where I'm shooting when she suddenly appears where my crosshairs are. c) I don't mind her being chatty. It beats a companion with a grand total of 600 mindless lines of dialogue. I do wish she would stay out of the way on normal quest dialogues in which she has no scripted participation. But its just something you learn to overlook. Think back to doing Nuka World Open Season, say on Very Hard with an additional 3x increased enemy damage. So a lot of sneaking is helpful. How many companions have you had with you (of the smart ones you don't consider dumber than a log) that don't require a DLC-type of mod (Like PV/OAR and Fusion City, both of which have good companions) who can duo Open Season with you? Ivy, check. Darlene, check, Heather, check. Thats pretty much it. A few of the berserker-style companions like Vex, Scarlet, etc. can duo it with you, but geesh a robot with really good armor and weapons might be more interesting. So like the SS says if Player Comments is enabled, Guess I'll take the good with the bad. But really, Ivy has improved significantly since the original Insane Ivy.
  3. I've now played 500 different playthroughs. Not as much as many, more than some. What I know is AFT has without a doubt broken the AI on Heather, Ellen, Random Panser, Darlene, Valkyrie (once, made her aggro me), and forced me to restart. Can't count the times Heather or Ellen or Panser was standing in the BOG near a railing, and not responded to E)Follow despite saying yes. Nor would they be dismissed. Now without changing anything else, I disabled AFT and played with Ivy and Heather, Heather and Dogmeat, Heather and Ellen, Panser and Heather, etc., and not once did I experience those AI glitches. I have also tested UCF and it seems to work better as far as not breaking companion AI. Also, any companion based on vanilla AI is more likely to survive to the end of a playthrough. Darlene is my favorite companion (love being able to do things that would run Curie or Piper back home in a few hours), and Panser is my next favorite. I like them because they keep up, they don't break sneak (I only play Survival or Very Hard+), and such. But of all the mod companions, how many run into the elevator with you consistently? Think that over a second. Ivy does, almost without fail. When I do Mechanist I do the holotapes to elevator entrance, and Ivy runs right into the elevator with you. The rest of 'em, I'm lucky if they are in the same room, much less in the elevator. I'd like to see a companion based on the Warrior Nun series, with a more concise back story. She would easily fit FO4 lore, its not like we don't have churches and other weird s#*! all over the place. If she was as complex as Darlene and Ivy, with better manners, and did all the cool stuff like sneak well, shut up when you are trying to hear something other than the companion, and gets into elevators/lifts with you, it would be the only companion mod I ever used.
