  1. As far as I understand it, I did. To state it differently: If more than 50% of mods use a specific order of esm files, then use that order. However as to the problem you stated (on the google page), looking at the list of ESM files I had no indication as to what used what as a master. Giving specific feedback on specific sets of esm files is impossible with the given information. I'm only concerned about one specific ESM file anyway and as of right now there are no known esm or esp files that utlize it. So moving it, if necessary, is acceptable. Thank you for your time. I glossed over the highlighted text the first time. You do see this issue I'm concerned about. As it sits right now, there are (maybe...) 20-30 esms with some note indicating another esm is a master. Out of about 750. Since there seems to be little interest in this, I'll probably move just the 10 or so esms that I've seen to be widely used to the top of the order and see if anyone squawks about it.
  2. Please explain "proper order". I do not want to assume what you may be thinking. We try to do most correct order already. What I am asking about is refining that order on esms only. The list I posted on googlecode mirrors the esp groupings for the most part. Yes, there are quite a few esps and several esms that do have multiple masters. Changing the current order of the esms may affect such mods, but without dl every single mod, there's no way to know which ones beforehand. Most of the committers do add some sort of note - either one that displays to the user or one that displays when opening the masterlist for editing. But there are a HUGE number of mods with nothing at all. So that doesn't help much.
  3. BOSS Users: Please take a few moments and look at this https://code.google.com/p/better-oblivion-sorting-software/issues/detail?id=276 Please leave a comment and or a suggestion here or there or on the BGS BOSS thread. Thanks
  4. I want to use the Data\Meshes\Magic\MAGInvParalyze.nif as an activator. I swapped this model for the invisible activator model, but it does not activate in game. I assume it is because it has no collision. Anyone care to help me out by either making the model work as an activator or telling me what I need to do?
  5. A copy of my post in the BGS Skyrim CK forum.... I'm having trouble reconciling the formulas shown on the USEP Wiki with actual in-game results. I tested with alchemy, speech, and smithing since they are easily tested. Test Conditions: Loaded Skyrim 1.5 with no mods - strictly vanilla (In fact, I uninstalled every mod so Skyrim was default)Deleted Skyrim.ini and SkyrimPrefs.ini and let the game generate new files.Started a new game and created the default "prisoner" by coc qasmoke at the menu screen.coc to whiterunarcadiascauldronAdded 100 blue mountain flowers and 100 butterfly wings to player inventory.Added 11 iron ingots and 11 leather strips.Added 10000 gold.No buffs or enchanments, just the "out of the box" level 1 Nord.Prior to my test, I loaded many games, always with the vanilla Skyrim default prisoner and manually increased alchemy, speechcraft, and smithing (player.advskill alchemy XXX) until I was able to determine the XP needed for the next level to 4 decimal places. Then I loaded yet another game, only this time I loaded the save I created with the default player with all the added inventory. According to the USEP: Skill Impove Mult * Skill level1.95 + Skill Improve Offset is the xp needed to advance to the next level. Skill Use Mult * Base XP + Skill Use Offset is the skill use xp Actual numbers: Alchemy, Level 15 to 16. It took 34 creations of restore health to advance. XP needed formula: (.16 * 151.95 + 65) = 379.4111 XP required, manually: 505.8816 XP gained formula: (.75 * (34*14) + 0) = 357 (Base XP = gold value of potions) Smithing, Level 20 to 21. It took 11 created iron daggers to advance. XP needed: (.25 * 201.95 + 300) = 386.0892 XP required, manually: 386.0892 XP gained: (1 * (25 + (3 * 101.95 ))) = 292.3753 (Base XP = 25 * (3 * item value1.95 ) Speech, Level 20 to 21. It took 5719 gold buying / selling transactions to advance. XP needed: (2 * 201.95 + 0) = 688.7133 XP required, manually: 1913.0927 XP gained: .36 * 5719 = 247.9368 (Base XP = gold used in transactions) Anyone have any ideas about why the discrepencies? As you can see, only some of the formula values are correct. Either there are other in-game factor(s) I'm not taking into consideraton or the formulas are wrong or possibly calculated differently for each skill.
  6. exactly, but using the akatosh statue placed at endgame.
  7. I posted this on the BSG forums, then I remembered Nexus! Hello everyone. I finally got off my duff and began finishing my never announced WIP, Dragon Invasion 3. What better to whet your appetite for Skyrim than good old-fashioned Dragon Hunting. Of course, you won't be fighting real Skyrim dragons, just 5 evil and nasty SaidenStorm Akatosh Dragons. There will be no hand holding or leading by the nose. You must listen to what the NPC says and remember or take notes. Any way, I'll be writing up a WIP / Relz thread in a day or two with screenies and such. Now for my request, something simple I hope, but I cannot seem to get Blender working properly and I have no clue what to do in Nifskope. And time I spend trying to work it out is time lost on the mod... What I want is the Dragon Statue (ArchitectureStatueStatueMartyn.nif) from the endgame chopped up into about a dozen pieces for static meshes that I can place in the mod. Or if it can be done and you're feeling generous - havok the pieces, add a HUGE amount of mass so the PC cannot move them. Then I can place them in the mod in the general shape of the statue and when I enable them in game, they'll fall naturally into a random pattern. I'm aiming for 1 October for release. Thanks for considering.
  8. Kind of a strange problem.... If I log into the forums and then leave / close my browser, I can open it up later and open the forums page still logged in. However, if i go to the Nexus site and click the Forums link, i have to log in all over again. Any ideas on what I need to do to simply switch back and forth between sites without out having to log into the Forums every time I link over from Nexus? Yes, I have cookies enabled. Yes, www.thenexusforums is entered into the "always allow cookies" list. Yes, my privacy settings are on medium. I do not have this problem with Bethseda's Forum and it appears you use the same forum software. IE8, WinXP Edit: How weird is this? Right after I post this, cross linking from Nexus works.. I guess nevermind for now.
  9. I must admit, I was not thrilled with the new design, but it didn't bother me. Dark0ne has 5, soon to be 6 mod sites. The money and time he's put into these sites is staggering. Has anyone provided or built any thing close? I don't think so. Most of these posts remind me of 3-year children crying and throwing a tantrum because they got vanilla ice cream instead of chocolate. (Oh! Wait... I forgot, most of you are children). As someone wrote earlier, deal with it or move on. If you have problems, that's an issue that requires information to correct. Saying "this sux and its brok " doesn't help Dark0ne or you figure out what's going on. I know this is really tough for most of you to hear, but I'm going to say it anyway. Grow up. Be civil. Act as though you are old enough to shave, not s*** your diaper.
  10. Starting a new game and getting a gazillion popups was my initial inspiration for these delayers. Another part that has come into play is the initial messagebox usually says something like "I've heard a rumor..." or something similar. Really? In the middle of nowhere? Or at the bottom of an Ayleid ruin? Most of my delayers wait until the player is somewhere where there are other NPCs around. Kind of to lend credence to the "I've heard a rumor".
  11. Hi there. This is my first post on Nexus (I spend a lot of time on Bethesda OB forum though). I'm a big quest fan. Many quest mods just toss that initial message box out there with no thought as to where the player might be. My Bash-able Quest Delayers mod corrects this for several mods. And I'm always on the prowl for more. Recently though, I've had second thoughts on how I designed them. A few comments here and there has made me re-think what I should do. So, I figured I would ask the community to give me a hand by getting opinions with a poll. Thanks for your input.
  12. Ok, I know this has been beaten to death, but I want to express my opinion and provide a suggestion about the rating system. (This is after a mini - discussion on the BSG forum.) The current system only allows for Endorse / Not Endorse. I think it is too limited. Please consider using the popular rating system used by many companies in their customer service polls: Very Satisfied Satisfied Neutral Dissatisfied Very Dissatisfied Simple, to the point, and much more flexible than just Endorse / Not Endorsed. I realize this message may not change anything, but, hey, what the hell. I let you know what I think instead of keeping it to myself. Thanks for reading.
