  3. Hello, For quite some time I've been trying modify tangent space normal maps for a mod I'm working on using Gimp. I've come across many tutorials on how to create new normal maps, but not one on how to modify an existing normal map that I've extracted. Does anyone know how to edit a tangent space normal map or do you know of any tutorials I could try? Thank you in advance.
  4. The only real advice I can give you is to find a really experienced guy with nifskope like ghosu or contact someone who has an npc mod like the monster mod or the super mario bros conversion that has done a lot of extensive mesh editing to npc's, because there are tutorials out there for armors and weapons like you said, but the information about getting new meshes for npc's is very little. There is one 2 sets of videos on youtube that I found... One is by a female who exports her mesh to an .obj, loads it into mudbox and tweaks it, then puts it back into the .nif by importing it. All done with nifskope. The other is a set of 2 videos and basically it comes down to editing an existing mesh with no skeleton, and then loading the original mesh and skeleton and skinwrapping the new mesh to the old one. I tried the second method and it didn't work for me. The nif exporter for 3ds max created a bunch of bones that don't exist and renamed some others. I don't know how to use mudbox so I don't know how to try the other method. I guess I could try that. Thanks.
  5. Hello, I've been working on a mod called "Urshug - Adoptable Orc Orphan" for some time now. Currently I'm trying to create a new face and hair style for Urshug, because I still find her too human looking, but I've run into some problems. I've used a few guides on how to create new weapons and armor (couldn't find one for faces) for Skyrim using Blender and NifSkope. They helped, but I get stuck at a certain point. I can extract childhead.nif from Skyrim, but after I edit it I can't add it to the game. There must be something I'm not doing right, but I can't figure out what it is. Can anyone please shed some light on this issue? Thank you in advance!
  6. 1. Post a file at the last moment. 2. File on front page all day. 3. ????? 4. Profit! I can see that happening.
  7. Would it be possible to create a mod that adds magelight to (some) enemy mages, which they would cast in your general direction if they hear you sneaking? I would make it myself, but I don't know how. Thanks in advance.
  8. Glad to help. PS: I meant set it active when you open it in Creation Kit. You'll have trouble saving it if you don't.
  9. If you are using skse (and you most likely are) you should open vanilla skyrim's launcher then open it's data files list and click "ok". If that doesn't work, try setting valid races to "HeadPartsAllRacesMinusBeast". It worked for me after that. Edit: Don't forget to set your .esp as the active file.
  10. Well the problem has nothing to do with the RaceMenu mod. What you need to do is open Creation Kit. When it's open you click on "file" then "data". Double click Skyrim to check its box then click ok. It will now load. A few boxes might pop up, just ignore them. In the filter you should type "eyes". Now click on "*All" at the bottom of the list. You will now see a list of headparts (they have heads for icons). Duplicate the dark elf eyes. After you've duplicated them, you should double click the duplicates and set "Valid Races" to "HeadPartsHighElf". Now save your creation. Congratulations, you just created a mod that adds Dunmer eyes to Altmer!
  11. I just uploaded a mod and my brother just sent me screenshots with gray faces. I had fixed it with ctrl + f4 and included the created textures in the uploaded file. I put the textures in "<zip>\textures\actors\character\FaceGenData\FaceTint\<mod>.esm". What am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance for your help.
  12. I'm trying to make an adoptable child with custom dialog in CK. She will greet me in-game, but she won't deliver her lines. I've tried everything I could think of. :wallbash: Edit: Ok, I did some poking around. I can have a conversation with her now, but I still can't adopt her. The option to do so wont show up after she tells you her life story like with Lucia. Does anyone know how to do that? Thanks in advance. Edit: Solved it!
