  1. Really, not just translations. All the derivatives/variants of a mod should be posted as some sort of sub-postings. All the different versions of the same armours (for different bodies) should be accessed with a single entry point, and then you should be able to navigate the different variations. All the different textures of an armour should all be found as links or sub-posts of the armour it's the retexture of, not an entirely free standing mod of its own. Same thing with translations. There should be one main page, one posting for Frostfall, for example, and all the translations should be posted as some kind of related post or sub-posts to it. When you search Frostfall, you would get one and only one hit result. Then all the frostfall add-ons, translations, and variations should be found within that result. At least that's what I think. Of course it's not always the case that one add-on of a mod relates solely to one main mod. But still, there could be some kind of cross reference system, or tagging. This will of course require a "fundamental" rework of how things are organized on Nexus, but this would really make things so much better.
  2. Thank you, that's much better! But can his be done with NexusMods, not just Nexus Forums?
  3. I don't like the balck background and some grey coloured lettered on Nexus - low contrast, very difficult to read especially on mobile - and I am wondering if there is a way to change this. Switching the skin between "default skin" and "no skin" under my preferences doesnt seem to do anything. Help would be really appreciated.
  4. Really? I get this about 1/4 of the time. I just had one too. In fact that's what reminded me to check if this thread had a reply.
  5. As the title says, I am wondering if there is a way to do this. Quite often, I handle plugins outside of NMM while NMM is open (windows explorer, wrye bash, BOSS, whatever). Then in order for whatever changes I made to show in NMM, I need to close and restart it. As all of you probably know, NMM startup can take quite a while, and it seems to randomly fail at automatically signing in, prompting me to enter user id and password manually (this is another thing that I am curious about why it happens), which can be annoying Anyway, is there a way to refresh the plugin list within NMM? I finally said enough to myself.
  6. Thanks, will do. Yes, 255 is a lot of mods, except that about half of that number seems to be patches or update plugins. RND wants a lot of patches...
  7. Well, I am reaching my mod limit of 255, and this got me thinking. I know 255 plugin limit is hardcoded and can't be changed. I know there's a way to merge mods, albeit crude, and there might be a tool in the works to let you do it easily. But is it theoretically possible within the current framework to create plugins that allow other plugins to be plugged into it, which than plugs into Skyrim? It seems like something like this might let you get around 255 mod limit. Of course, I know nothing about programming, so I am just hypothesizing and conjecturing as a complete outsider to the principle. Based on the way I understand Skyprocc plugins work, it doesn't sound like a complete impossibility. Or I may not be having any idea about what the h--- I am talking about. Can someone who would know the answer tell me? That'll give me something to hope for or at least stop dreaming. There are just so many mods that I wanna install. It all goes to show how creative and talented the modders are. Shame I can't easily try them all, what with Skyrim not liking easy mod install/uninstalls.
  8. Thanks for responses. I'm away from home now and can't post my spces now. My idea was that my cpu and ram didn't seem like bottlenecks, (don't know the exact spec of the cpu but it's a quad core one, and I have 8 g ram. Don't know the ram speed off the top)
  9. I am thinking about upgrading my graphic card for Skyrim. Currently using ATI HD 5750, 1G vram. If I want to install texture/graphical enhancement mods all I want and run the game at the ultrawide resolution of about 5600x1050 and still get 60fps, what chipset and what kind of card do I need? I would like to keep it under $300 (I will need to upgrade power too, so...), but I realize that's probably unrealistic given the aspiration for texture mods and ultrawide resolution. I wouldn't mind it going over a bit. I am willing to sacrifice fps down to 30fps. Some suggestions and pointers about the spec items that I should pay attention to would be appreciated. Thank you.
  10. Hi, I am having trouble with character preset mods. When I install them (e. g. Rops1981's Inhabitants of Skyrim - Character Presets) using NMM, I don't get the new presets. I still have 9 or so vanilla presets only. I am using Racemenu and Extended Character Edit. I am also using face and hair mods but they should only affect how the preset exactly looks like, not whether the presets show up or not, right? I don't think this is relevant, but I had a custom race mod installed before, which has since been removed. Any tip would be appreciated,
  11. Hm... I think it's Better horses mod. When I enable that one, I can ride the horse. Disable, I can't. And it looks like the modder has provided an "uninstaller" mod, saying that the mod touch the game in deep places so removal can cause problems... I suppose the reason why this kept happening before I noticed the "problem" was because I've had better horses all along... perhaps soon after I started the game, even though I didn't have a horse back then.
  12. I started having a problem with the horse last night. No matter what I do, I can't interact with my horse. I can't ride it, and although I can kill it, I can't search it's corpse. In other words, no "action" command works on my horse. This happens with horses owned by me only. I can steal other horses, ride them, kill them and loot the corpses like I should be able to. But I can't steal the horse that will become mine when I buy it (the one with saddle) and can't ride it after I pay to buy it, It still fast travels with me. Yes, I am pressing the right button to ride it. I tried console commands disable/enable kill/resurrect on the horse to no effect. I think the horse mods initially caused the problem. I had better horse, convenient horse, horses for followers, better textures for horses etc, and something got messed up here, probably. The initial problem was that my horse turned black, like its texture was gone, but I could still ride it. Then I probably removed some horse mods, and this problem started happening. But what's really puzzling me is, this happens even after i disable these mods. In fact, if I keep better horse or convenient horse on (I don't remember which one) I can ride my horse. The problem is when I uninstall these mods. I don't want these mods anymore. I've even uninstalled the whole game, removed the game files manually from the hard drive and reinstalled it, and this still happens with pure vanilla Skyrim. Loading the save before this problem occurred doesn't help (i.e. this still happens with the saves from long ago, long before this problem happened). I still can't ride my damn horse. I suspected I created this problem by either installing mods that conflict or uninstalled them in an improper manner, but this just boggles my mind as how this keeps happening even after I clean reinstall the game without any mods. It's as if the game has been re-hard coded to prevent me from riding my horse. Has anyone ever had this problem? Googling returns a few people's posts with a similar problem, although I am not sure if we had exactly the same problem. You will notice I went a great length to explain exactly what's happening and what I have done to try solving it. Any help will be really appreciated.
  13. I have a problem where it's fine immediately after I load the game, but once POV changes (either because I go into 1st person and come back to 3rd person or because I go near a wall and POV changes automatically), from then on, every time I run to the right (i.e. left analogue stick to the right - I'm using a gamepad -edit: Just tried with keyboard too, and when I run to the right using the keyboard, the same thing, so nothing to do with the controller), the POV flips upside down. This happens only in 3rd person POV. And once this problem has been "activated", loading another save without exiting the game will not remove the problem (i.e. I don't need to activate this problem by changing POV when I load another save, like I had to do for the initial loading of the game.) I suspected it's a mod, so I removed all the recently installed mods (that is, mods that I installed today, which did include one that did have something to do with POV, http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/13652 - but I removed this and the problem persists). I also disabled all the plugins and tried loading the game, and still the same thing. I did not try disabling all mods because then it would be a huge hassle later to only reenable what I have enabled now and not the ones that are disabled. But this didn't happen before and started happening all of a sudden. Has anyone ever had this kind of problem? What kind of mod could possibly be doing this? edit: interesting... this doesn't happen in the older saves. edit: Yes, it started happening after a certain point in the game and got saved. So if I load the saves after a few hours ago, this problem happens, but the saves before that time, it's ok. Maybe nothing to do with mods after all. It makes me wonder what it could be though.
