  1. Yeah, i'm not sure "professional" mods is what most people are looking for, most of the time. Fair enough, we all want them to work well & not encounter many/any compatibility issues with them, but i think simple, fun mods can provide quite a lot of enjoyment & extend a game's lifespan, without modders having to worry about their reputation / rating & large corporations breathing down their neck. Imagine a user rating system in effect for these mods, modders would have to make fairly mainstream / generic / acceptable mods, which would pretty much kill the idea / concept of mods for me & quite a few others i'd think. I think modders are likely to produce something more unique / different without a load of pressure to be "professional"

  3. What do we think of combining Opportunist with Sentinel in 1 perk? (2nd reaction shot at 0 aim penalty & critical hits enabled?) Seems (particularly if combined with Squadsight) that 1st reaction shot is often wasted shooting at same enemy as half the squad. Does Dense Smoke stack with Combat Drugs? I'll find out in a while i suppose (increased AOE +defense bonus) I find Smoke Grenades at initial AOE not that useful if any Grenade wielding enemies nearby. Too risky clustering squad + shame to spend a couple of perk points to acquire Smoke Grenades & Dense Smoke. Think i'll have a go at bumping initial AOE of Smoke Grenades to Save On Dense Smoke Perk. Might see if i can roll Opportunist with Sentinel in 1 perk myself too.

(& / or gals if applicable) added both the 'Aliens Affected' mod & the 'Medikit / alien healing heals' mods for Red Fog to my EU patch 4 & think it's much improved / more viable an option. Don't think it tips balance in my favour very much really when lost turns for healing & inventory slots used for extra medikits are factored in. increases the importance of at least wounding them every turn (aliens that aim that is) it doesn't help as much or at all even against melee attackers (injuries hamper mobility?) or Grenade wielders, or Robotic units. Increases the effectiveness of the aliens (Thin Men) Poison Spit & Suppression to a fairly hefty level. An easy way of adjusting the impact values of Red Fog would be awesome, i'm sure different users would like different values. I think i'll try a search & replace (hex editor) to change aim impact down to 10% & 20% myself,, Think the Std. 45% chance at aliens in partial cover at distance down to 35% or 25% would be quite enough. Wouldn't really want it making too much difference at close range & / or flanked. Especially when poison effects are added on top of that if poisoned. The 'impact only if Armour breached' may be a good idea too i suppose, probably reduce overall impact later in the game though i suppose
  5. Hi Recently my Blender 2.49b has started refusing to function / operate at all. "the application failed to initialize" while i still have a Blender 2.67b version working fine & can't think of any programs i've recently downloaded / installed that might interrupt it's functionality - other than updates to Windows 7 ? Anybody else having a similar issue ? Or has had & resolved? cheers Phil
  6. i'm not really familiar with the CK. But using Vertex Colors & Ambient Occlusion is a good way of filling in some detail on a mesh/texture pretty-well automatically (need an image to Bake too in Blender) Are you Using Blender? Good for generating a Normal Map & UV Map too.
  7. Sounds perhaps like having an Alpha Channel in your textures when you don't want one? if you google that it brings up plenty of tutorials. using GIMP?
  8. Sounds like a question of the 'Skin Instance' to me. it's never too happy if you delete that for an armor mod without creating a new one? Haven't seen the tutorial & what steps you followed though.

  10. I was thinking 'Boots of Levitation' would be cool, maybe move at Sprint speed without Stamina drain or something like that. Perhaps just a temporary effect as part of a Dragon Shout, coupled with Shock damage to anything that strikes you for melee damage. I haven't seen anything like that as yet, haven't looked too hard yet though.
