SSE Creation kit wiped progress
Simdrew1993 replied to BillstrNexus's topic in Skyrim's Creation Kit and Modders
Hmm, don't give up just yet. I'm sure it's there although CK does do strange things sometimes. Creation KIt often makes backup files for each esp project you are working on at different date and times? There should be a Backup folder in your root Skyrim Special Edition directory, save a backup of your current project esp as it is from your data folder or move it maybe on your desktop then I would suggest using one of these backup esp's from the root directory backup folder. Put the one you want in your data folder, rename the extension and remove bak from the one you want then it becomes an active esp ready for CK, maybe this way you can restore it to an earlier version before this calamity began. I've had to do this before with projects and this method worked for me to restore my work. -
Hi there to anyone reading this, I know this is an old thread and hate to revive it but I too am wondering how to do this. I have custom standalone fully voiced NPC's and would like to add them to the marriage quest and make it fully function the same as it would for a generic npc, same lines and everything re-recodred for each one. I'd also like information on how to make follower spouse have Heartfire compatible dialogue. If anyone has information on how to do any of this could they provide the knowledge please, or link to any sites that do. More knowledge out there equals higher mod quality and helps modders out greatly. Could someone out there who is kind enough please provide a step by step guide on here, video, pictures or write out everything in detail for all that wish to know how to do this, or link to other sites. I've never seen anyone successfully do this. Very few Voiced follower mods even have marriage sadly and all that I've seen have their own separate marriage quest, I would prefer to use the default marriage quest and add my custom voiced followers to it, if possible. Thanks.

No problem at all. Wonderful I'm happy to hear I was able to help! Glad you got it working. If you end up having anymore questions or need help feel free to message me anytime and I can answer what I can to the best of my ability. (I agree, it can be very overwhelming and alot of times the information on something you want to do simply just isn't online half the time lol, yes it is an awesome thing though when you get the hang of it)

Hi, there, I know what it's like to be left hanging here with no help or answers on these forums. Thankfully I'm not like that and I'm gonna try to help cause I just saw you replied to this thread in my email notification. Alright, so my modding is a little rusty I'll admit, as I've been working on Fallout 4, then moved back to Skyrim, then took a long break from Bethesda games in general because I wasn't finding many answers, and moved over to Sims 4 modding.. Hopefully I can re-jog my own memory lol. :D Ok it seems I left out a vital step... Ok, you are on the right track, launch Creation Kit for Fallout 4, then go to file and select data. Select Fallout 4 in the check box then continue. Then let it load, once everything is done loading in the object window search preset, for male or female. Like example PresetMale17. Pick the number preset you want to replace, good thing about replacing a preset is you can also upload them to consoles and let your friends use them too. Let me know if you get everything working, and if you have anymore questions let me know.

(new) Should i buy old skyrim or special edition for mods ?
Simdrew1993 replied to Kudarizaka's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
I'd say buy Legendary Edition first then you get Special Edition for Free from Bethesda or Steam can't remember which, not sure if you still do but many of us did. Then you get both.. You probably still can, you get more this way. There are more that play Legendary Edition because there are more mods to choose from. Overall there are still many that play Special Edition too. I play both!- 5 replies

How do I know which ENB I am using?
Simdrew1993 replied to MarkusTay's topic in Fallout 4's Discussion
Glad you found your answer! Best of luck with everything. :) -
Thanks for the mention JK, good interview. it was a real pleasure working with you and Joseph Russell and I wish you guys the best in all your future mods! :) In my experience working with him, JKrojmal is a very talented modder, and very easy to work with. His city overhaul mods add a significant improvement to Skyrim compared to the original game.. Definitely give his mods a try sometime you'll probably like them! And be sure to endorse his work if you like it and keep an eye out on future projects he uploads. ~Simdrew1993 --------------------------- Andrew Pelz - Voice Actor

I honestly cannot remember? I'm thinking my first game I ever played may have been Super Mario 64 for the Nintendo 64...I know that was the first game I actually owned after having my very own N64... Ahh the golden age of gaming.. How I miss those days..

Hi there, I am not sure what the problem is exactly since I can't see a screenshot of it. I suggest uploading a private album to imgur then linking us to it so we can better assess the issue, that's where most modders upload to, to show a mod or a problem, make sure to make it private though. Could be a problem with Nif file paths or file corruption. I recommend backing up your saves, and then under Steam right click Skyrim then go to local files, then view integrity of files. Is this problem happening on all of your saves? Or only specific saves, could be save corruption as well. Also have you downloaded any custom texture mods or meshes?

Okay so I created some Zelda clothes for my Link follower and just recently it started displaying an error when loading the armguards worked fine before and just stopped this has never happened before. Here's the error, was working fine then just started doing this: TEXTURES: BASE meshes\Link Clothes - Simdrew1993\LinkArmguardsm\LinkArmguardsm_0.nif : HandMale_Big1stperson:0 is missing a specular map Oh and it doesn't do this for females, only the male armguards. If anybody knows what is going on then please let me know, the texture still shows up in CK over the mesh and in my game.. it only started doing this. Still shows up fine in my game although for others it's purple and missing textures.. but that's what my creation kit says.. if you know what to do or what it means then I'm all ears. It must have done this right before I uploaded my files because they worked not long ago. Everything appears to be linked properly together in Nifskope and Creation Kit..unless I'm missing something. EDIT: Wait hold the phone... I have an older folder with a similar name and it's older files.. that may be the problem, armguards are linked to that. Ahh I'm such an IDIOT! hah, will report back if that's it..

Nevermind I figured it out for those that don't know how to, it's very simple. Just download FaceRipper, launch Creation Kit, then go to file and select data. Select Fallout 4 in the check box then continue. then type in Preset, find the one you want to change unfortunately making a new one altogether did not work for me. So click PresetMale17 or any of them as a test, rename to PresetMale18, then change it back to PresetMale17. Now there should be an asterisk * Which means it was modified, now click up top on save don't worry it won't delete anything will only create a new ESP that overrides it when in the game, when removed it should return to the Vanilla Preset. Now name your plugin whatever you want. Cut and paste the new plugin into your Documents\my games\Fallout4\Saves, Now open FaceRipper click browse now look for your face, browse for a save your gonna use a face from. After that is done, go below to the next browse option, select the Plugin, now when finished select Transfer. Waa-lah, it should be good to go. Now it should create a new Plugin instead of overriding the existing one which now has numbers of the face slot included in the name of the ESP file, you can probably remove that if you'd like.. Also you can delete the original ESP as it's no longer needed, unless you want it for backup that's fine too. Now move the new ESP Plugin to Fallout 4's Data Folder again, enable and it should be good to go!

Hi there, I'm fairly new to modding in Fallout 4, I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to replace one of the default face presets for my character or create a new default slot if that's even possible, it's a face of myself which I'm hoping to replace one of the Vanilla Default Preset numbers with my own face, if I learn how to do this I'd like to make more faces, and start making mods for Fallout 4 and I'm not sure how to go about doing it, not sure I'm even asking in the right area hope so if not my apologies. Been looking all around but haven't really gotten a clear answer. I know it can't be too hard, If anyone has the time would you be willing to spare some to assist me real quick, I used to mod Skyrim quite a bit will again in the future, and I know very little of Fallout 4's CK although I'm pretty quick at picking this stuff up, only know a bit. I'm familiar with the LooksMenu mod, and Face Ripper, I want to replace the default presets though, like say 1-15 or whatever. One of them. My main reason is I'm wanting to put my face in game for my brother and nephew in their PS4 and Xbox One versions, then the face can be uploaded here as a LooksMenu Preset for PC. How would I go about doing this, to replace one of the default ones with a custom face in Creation Kit? Please help! I know many questions often get ignored sadly on here but this information can help a lot of people that are also wondering the same, for instance google usually leads to here first and most questions have no answers. Please don't pass by and leave if you do know the answer, think of these poor people with questions as broken down cars, do you just drive by or are you gonna help give them a jump start... or a quest to help out the commonwealth. The more we all share our knowledge with others the less questions will be asked later and the better things will simply be for all of us, human life is about learning we can't progress if we never get help or answers from those that have them, so please consider stopping by to help. Thanks. ~Simdrew1993

SSE Link (Legend of Zelda) Follower
Simdrew1993 replied to kturcotte1980's topic in Skyrim's Mod Ideas
Consider it done and hopefully it'll be released here soon before the summer. How about all of the above! I've created all of the above, a Link and Dark Link follower which for Link you'll have the option between blonde, Twilight Princess style brunette or classic Ocarina of Time/Majora's Mask blonde color hair, despite not having a hair mesh resembling Ocarina of time, it will be like Modern Link with his hair color so will be somewhat close I suppose, at this time he will simply only be a vanilla voiced follower. Maybe later down the line he may have his own framework and custom voice acting after I hire a Voice Actor who will fit the role...who knows but he is very skilled, has his own fighting style...combat style, many perks, uses the Hero's Bow, Hylian Shield and Master Sword, he is also marriageable for if you are playing a Princess Zelda playthrough or something else. He uses his own clothing based on AlteredTheBeast's which I've made a newer standalone version of his clothes to fit a more modern Link design based on my vision of how he should look in the Skyrim universe. Although I've not set him to level with the player he is at his own level. Wanted him to already be experienced so he could help the dragonborn, he's tough but not overpowered. Here's an album below. Hey it's been a while Captain! Good to see ya again! If you are using ECE for character creation this is actually a problem I ran into myself, what worked for me was making a new game save when it all works fine with eyes of your choosing, then save over the preset with the new save and it should load properly now, ECE is weird in some ways because if you have many eye or hair mods then uninstall them, change load order, or even deactivate them it will glitch up causing it to load different eyes and hair, my best guess is it reads what all mods are installed, so by reloading the save with the good eyes then resaving the preset over again it should fix itself, worked in my case anyway. Racemenu may do this too, so far it hasn't for me just ECE, actually no Racemenu did do this once, only once for me though a while back. Can't remember if you mentioned which one you use. If it doesn't end up being what I suggested I'm more than willing to try to help you fix it.

Settlements build themselves mod
Simdrew1993 replied to CiderMuffin's topic in Fallout 4's Discussion
Hate to kick the old bucket and revive this but I believe this may have been what you were looking for, I've had trouble finding it oddly hahaha :D Youtube showed me the way though. Here: http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/21872/? Even if not it's a similar type of mod, all are great I'm sure. I'll leave this on here for anyone else looking for it. -
It's the middle of the nose tip very small point, it points down. From the front it doesn't appear this way (round) though. I understand. Considering SKSE Beta will be released this month sometime, problems with ECE and Racemenu may no longer occur who knows. Hadn't heard about followers with ECE causing problems in SE, that's not good. I'd have to check again to see if RM has the mouth feature or not. Hmm, wood elves tend to have more scrunched faces...wonder if that's the reason. It makes characters appear more slovic, for my Twilight Princess Link I made him a Nord with elf ears.. I know Nord is a human race but Hylians are pretty much humans with pointy ears, they're like human elf hybrids really lol. Some actually do that create a human face elfify it then port the head to an elf in CK. Wood elves are probably the best though to use, elf races do mess with facial structure quite a bit so this explains why his jawline seems slightly off, High elves and Dark Elf faces are very scrunchy with wrinkled foreheads so it forces faces to become less, well natural. Alright yeah I'm sure many would like to have a young Link in game. Looking forward to seeing more updates! Like I said earlier you've improved him drastically! I believe you can make him look identical to the real! He's already so close to getting there! Hm, sounds pretty interesting.

That is a huge improvement! Well done. Appreciate that you took my advice, most impressive. That's really odd about the eyebrows causing a warp, whether ECE or Racemenu I've experienced face warps before myself which weren't pretty to say the least haha , eyebrows actually look pretty good now though, so it's fine. Hmm, :geek: let me analyze the face, hmm... ok, only thing that I could see now is the face needs to be more round still, see from the sides it's very wide when compared to the picture of Link, it could be the jaw making it appear this way, naturally his face is fairly round. Lower lip needs to be smaller if possible, width for lips I'd say bring it in just a bit not a whole lot, just barely. Bring mouth height up, it's give him more of the child look he has. Bring chin up after bringing mouth up. Nose looks a bit pointy from the front (nose tip) you may want to make it more of a button, I know creating a button nose can tend to be quite difficult as it's a very complex shape. Eyes are the right size, maybe more narrow. He does resemble Link now much more now, so you're definitely heading in the right direction! : )

I'm back from being gone so long, commented to our friend on reddit so hopefully we'll get good clothes eventually. Hi there RedCaptainJackR! Hmm, interesting so it's actually a child race...and the clothes they are different than what we were wanting although they do look pretty good, for maybe a more modern child Link. Looks good, here's what I believe needs changed. Eyes indeed, yes they need to be bigger and wider, iris needs to be center up, he's far too masculine for a child.. Jawline is too big needs to be more round, bring it up a bit, nose needs to be smaller more button like with a small point from the side, nose width needs to come in, chin needs to come up about half an inch. Cheekbones need to be slightly bigger, and they also need to come outwards and go up some. Mouth maybe a tad bit smaller, width also, if you do change it make sure the mouth width only surpasses the nose width a little bit. Eyebrows, young Link's eyebrows are thick, very thick so he needs Thick eyebrows, you got the brows shaped pretty close. You don't have to follow my advice, I've just been a face sculptor for numerous games for several years and I'm known to give lessons or help. So these are just suggestions that'd I'd do myself, I plan on making a kid Link of my own later, it would save me the trouble for someone else to do this though. ^-^ Here's a good reference. http://www.zeldainformer.com/images/uploads/20891/bjtkos5arzi2voiqf0kb__banner-auto-cropping.jpg And about the hair you are correct, finding one similar to his OOT/MM hairstyle would be nearly impossible. It's a middle parted hairstyle from the 90's, used to be very popular among kids and teens. Saw a similar hairstyle in Apachii Sky hair for men, although it's still not quite close enough. Many hairstyles converted over to Skyrim were originally custom meshes created for Sims games. I've used a mesh before that would work perfect, too bad I've no knowledge of doing this. http://thesimsworld.deviantart.com/art/Link-Hero-of-Time-Edition-Download-Simdrew1993-531338232 Oh well...

Hmm, can't get ahold of him, he must be busy.... It seems I may have already gotten his permission in the past after all I can't tell...here's what I wrote.I mentioned using mod assets such as meshes....and he said yes as long as I credited his YouTube channel and page. See here a screencap....Maybe I'm misreading my own words lol, when I wrote him I had the intentions to make new clothing out of his meshes and make standalone recolors for my projects... I was granted his permission. What do you think?
