  1. I've made a similar post on other modding forums related to Skyrim but they have all gone basically ignored, so I'm going to try here. I'm trying to mod my Skyrim's graphics on a 750 Ti 2 gb vram. I've ran into multiple issues involving lod popping in at super close distances, grass popping in with the same issues, shading issues, performance issues, ect. Here are my full specs. Nvidia Gtx 750 Ti 2 GB vram 12 gb onboard ram Intel i5 2.67 ghz Windows 8.1 I'm planning to do a complete redo of my Skyrim modding. I really need help with what I should do to mod my game's graphics and keep performance generally stable. I'm fine with dropping to like 30-40 fps if it means the game looks great and doesn't crash. My big thing is I want to remove stuttering and CTDs. I can list my current load order if need be, but I don't think it matters seeing as I basically just want to start over. I use Wrye Bash, Loot, Mod Organizer, TES5EDIT, ENBoost, and SKSE. So I already have all of these set up and ready to go, I'm probably just going to remove all of my existing mods, not sure if there's anything else I should delete. I'll post pastebins of my current prefs/default inis, however once again I plan to just delete them anyways so I doubt it really matters. I just want to try to learn from my past mistakes. Skyrim.ini: http://pastebin.com/y9cUSddY Skyrim Prefs.ini: http://pastebin.com/5kAqnkSn I also think it's important to add that I've followed STEP's core guide and it's given me a lot of trouble. Don't know if this means anything, but figured it might give more background.
  2. Hello everyone, I'm looking to find some advice for modding as I just recently updated my computer and I'm not really sure what mods are smart to download. I'm running on a GTX 750 Ti FTW 2gb, 12 gb of ram, i5 2.67 ghz processor, windows 8. My hope with this thread is to find someone who is either experienced with modding, computers, or both. I'd like to bounce ideas back and fourth on what mods I could install graphically to make the game look great without totally killing the FPS. I also have a few other MISC questions involving a few particular genres of mods which are: -Has anyone had any success using city/village overhaul mods? They seem to cause an immense amount of instability with my game.-As far as texture overhaul mods go, which is more recommended? Skyrim 2k HD, or Tamriel reloaded? Past these, I am also having an extremely hard time modding distant LOD. I've tried most of the top recommended LOD mods, but they seem to just make my game crash within about 2-5 minutes of gameplay, and even that is wishful thinking. Is there a way to mod the distant lod to be less of an eye sore for my particular machine? I'm sorry if these questions are coming off kind of annoying, nooby, or underinformed. I've been modding for a while now, but I always seem to run into the same issue. I mod the game, it becomes extremely buggy and unstable, then I need to try to remod it again. I'm trying to get my game to an overhauled, yet stable version of Skyrim. I'm going to post my mod load order below and I'm absolutely open to any advice anyone can give me. Also, I've followed most of the .ini tweaks from the youtuber GamerPoet. He seems quite knowledgeable. 0 0 Skyrim.esm 1 1 Update.esm 2 2 Dawnguard.esm 3 3 HearthFires.esm 4 4 Dragonborn.esm 5 5 Lanterns Of Skyrim - All In One - Main.esm 6 6 Campfire.esm 7 7 RSkyrimChildren.esm 8 8 ApachiiHair.esm 9 9 ApachiiHairFemales.esm 10 a ApachiiHairMales.esm 11 b HighResTexturePack01.esp 12 c HighResTexturePack02.esp 13 d HighResTexturePack03.esp 14 e SkyUI.esp 15 f iHUD.esp 16 10 AMatterOfTime.esp 17 11 WetandCold.esp 18 12 WetandCold - Ashes.esp 19 13 CollegeOfWinterholdImmersive.esp 20 14 ELE_Legendary_Lite.esp 21 15 SkyRe_Main.esp 22 16 RealisticWaterTwo.esp 23 17 NPC_Overhaul_V_1_.esp 24 18 hold guard.esp 25 19 SoS - The Wilds.esp 26 1a SoS - Civilization.esp 27 1b SoS - The Dungeons.esp 28 1c SkyRe_EncounterZones.esp 29 1d SFO - Expanded Diversity.esp 30 1e Guard Dialogue Overhaul.esp 31 1f Hothtrooper44_ArmorCompilation.esp 32 20 Immersive Weapons.esp 33 21 RealisticWaterTwo - Legendary.esp 34 22 Cloaks.esp 35 23 SMIM-Merged-All.esp 36 24 Populated Lands Roads Paths.esp 37 25 VariousGuardReplacer.esp 38 26 1nivWICCloaks.esp 39 27 1nivWICSkyCloaksPatch.esp 40 28 RSChildren - Complete.esp 41 29 Chesko_WearableLantern.esp 42 2a Hothtrooper44_Armor_Ecksstra.esp 43 2b FNIS.esp 44 2c TKDodge.esp 45 2d Dual Sheath Redux.esp 46 2e NonEssentialChildren.esp 47 2f RSChildren_PatchNEC.esp 48 30 NoCombatMusic.esp 49 31 No NPC Greetings.esp 50 32 Celtic Music in Skyrim - Dungeons v1.1.esp 51 33 Celtic_Music_In_Skyrim_v2.1.esp 52 34 aMidianborn_Skyforge_Weapons.esp 53 35 AMB Glass Variants Lore.esp 54 36 Differently Ebony.esp 55 37 Customizable Camera.esp 56 38 Extended UI.esp 57 39 AHZmoreHUD.esp 58 3a Immersive Sounds - Compendium.esp 59 3b RealNames.esp 60 3c RaceMenu.esp 61 3d RaceMenuPlugin.esp 62 3e RaceMenuOverlays.esp 63 3f ISCompendium SkyRe Patch.esp 64 40 SkyRe_EnemyScaling.esp 65 41 SkyRe_Survivalism.esp 66 42 BS-TheHag_WarPaints.esp 67 43 SFO - Dragonborn.esp 68 44 CCO - Permanent Birthsigns.esp 69 45 Frostfall.esp 70 46 Skyrim Flora Overhaul.esp 71 47 SkyRe_EnemyAI.esp 72 48 Hunterborn.esp 73 49 HoldBorderBanners.esp 74 4a iNeed.esp 75 4b iNeed - Dangerous Diseases.esp 76 4c Equipping Overhaul.esp 77 4d Hunterborn_WearableLantern-Patch.esp 78 4e Duel - Combat Realism.esp 79 4f SkyRe_Combat.esp 80 50 Apocalypse - The Spell Package.esp 81 51 Apocalypse - SkyRe Compatibility Patch.esp 82 52 vImmersiveBeds.esp 83 53 vImmersiveBeds - HFDG.esp 84 54 WyldMenuPlugFemale.esp 85 55 WyldMenuPlugMale.esp 86 56 Character Creation Overhaul.esp 87 57 CCO - Diverse Races And Genders.esp 88 58 CCO - Dynamic Skill Progression.esp 89 59 CCO - Oblivion Carry Weights.esp 90 5a Thugs.esp 91 5b OMageReplacerPack.esp 92 5c CWINPCOpulentOutfits.esp 93 5d Convenient Horses.esp 94 5e RealisticHumanoidMovementSpeed.esp 95 5f Alternate Start - Live Another Life.esp 96 60 ASIS-Dependency.esp 97 61 Dual Sheath Redux Patch.esp 98 62 ReProccer.esp ASIS.esp
  3. I found a good bunch of graphical mods from here: http://www.gamersnexus.net/gg/2025-skyrim-graphics-mod-overhaul-and-benchmarks-2015 At this point I'm wondering, should I bother with ENBs? My game is running well with all of these mods.
  4. I just installed 12 gb of ram, and a GeForce GTX 750 Ti with all of it's drivers installed. I have a DX11, Intel® Core i5 CPU @2.67GHz. What is my limit as far as graphical mods go? I just did a test with all my current mods (approximately 110 total) on max possible graphics, stayed at 60+ FPS without any drops or stuttering even in combat and in busy cities such as solitude and whiterun. I'm not familiar with ENBs, so if anyone wouldn't mind giving me the short on how to use them that'd be great too. I'll be doing research of my own too so I'm not a complete lazy ass. Any help is appreciated, thanks!
  5. Hello, I was wondering if a mod like this existed. The tempering system as of the current game consists of taking Weapon A, and depending on your smithing skill you can make it permanently "Fine" or "Legendary" ect. Is there a mod where weapons and armor that have been tempered gradually lose this over time? And perhaps, even when returning to their original state, it'll degrade to something like maybe "Damaged" or "tarnished" or "broken"? I don't know if a mod like this exists yet, but I would love if it did with reasonable mechanics, such as obviously a steel blade isn't going to break after a couple of fights, but maybe after multiple fights and hits it'll become more dull, to which you take it to a grindstone to resharpen it. Same with armor, an armor made out of fine metal won't break after a few fights, but maybe weaker armors, say for example fur, leather, or hide will break easier. Let me know what you guys think, and if there is a mod like this please let me know at your convenience.
  6. Thanks for all the tips. Would you recommend I delete everything skyrim related and start over? Or is it better right now to just start by removing things bit by bit. Reason I ask is because I've made changes to the .ini in an attempt to help performance, and i've also downloaded a lot of things for like mod organizer and ENBoost to try to once again help performance.
  7. Not very; Most of the mods are in equipment or gameplay changes such as SkyRe. The only graphic mods I have is RLO and Winter Overhaul, but despite this, this glitch happened BEFORE I even downloaded these mods.
  8. Hello, recently my Skyrim game has gotten a weird glitch where the shading is for lack of a better word, dotted around the edges. I'll include a screenshot of it down below because I don't really know how to explain it and I don't really know what triggered it to hapehttp://puu.sh/cWxH7/d3920526d2.jpghttp://puu.sh/cWxFf/1bb099f513.jpghttp://puu.sh/cWxkK/4747e7df9c.jpg
  9. I'm also thinking of doing a complete deletion of my skyrim folder and doing a fresh reinstall, considering I think i've installed some things correctly (such as ENBoost). Would this be a step backwards or forwards? Also, some extra information. I'm using Mod Organizer, I only have the dawnguard DLC.
  10. I recently made a new post regarding some more general information that I didn't post here http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/2290314-rebuilding-my-skyrim-please-assist/
  11. Hello, this past week I made a post regarding my system's limits with Skyrim. I've been unmodding and trying to add a lot of mods that help performance, but I wanted to know if I could get some help with actually modding my game depending on my specs. By this I mean I don't know what mods are too heavy for my system and I'm trying to get a good idea on how I can make my game look somewhat decent, but I still want to focus on the performance. If people could recommend a mod load order depending on my specs, that'd be great. I'm especially concerned with some things like ENBoost that were recommended to me in my latest post which I'll link below. But for now, here's my computers spec and a link to my other forum post.. Time of this report: 11/12/2014, 18:25:58 Machine name: ALEX Operating System: Windows 8.1 64-bit (6.3, Build 9600) (9600.winblue_r3.140827-1500) Language: English (Regional Setting: English)System Manufacturer: 1E658 System Model: 1E658A74 BIOS: BIOS Date: 05/03/11 17:25:20 Ver: 08.00.16 Processor: Intel® Core i5 CPU 750 @ 2.67GHz (4 CPUs), ~2.7GHz Memory: 4096MB RAMAvailable OS Memory: 4088MB RAM Page File: 2889MB used, 3181MB available Windows Dir: C:\WINDOWS DirectX Version: DirectX 11DX Setup Parameters: Not found User DPI Setting: Using System DPI System DPI Setting: 96 DPI (100 percent) DWM DPI Scaling: Disabled DxDiag Version: 6.03.9600.16384 64bit Unicode Card name: NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT Manufacturer: NVIDIA Chip type: GeForce 9800 GT DAC type: Integrated RAMDAC Device Type: Full Device Device Key: Enum\PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0614&SUBSYS_0E7919F1&REV_A2 Display Memory: 3043 MB Dedicated Memory: 999 MB Shared Memory: 2043 MB Current Mode: 1920 x 1080 (32 bit) (60Hz) Monitor Name: HP 2311 Series LED Backlit LCD Monitor Monitor Model: HP 2311 Monitor Id: HWP2939 Native Mode: 1920 x 1080(p) (60.000Hz) Output Type: DVI Driver Name: nvd3dumx.dll,nvwgf2umx.dll,nvwgf2umx.dll,nvd3dum,nvwgf2um,nvwgf2umDriver File Version: 9.18.0013.4052 (English) Driver Version: 9.18.13.4052 DDI Version: 10 Feature Levels: 10.0,9.3,9.2,9.1 Driver Model: WDDM 1.2Graphics Preemption: DMA Compute Preemption: DMA Miracast: Not SupportedHybrid Graphics GPU: Not Applicable Power P-states: Not Applicable Driver Attributes: Final Retail http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/2278539-can-someone-help-me-figure-out-my-computers-limits-for-skyrim/ I'm not sure what else I can include, but I'm really trying to get my game to a state where it's balanced between good gameplay and immersion, with some performance. I'm not too concerned about graphics, but I would like to try to get it to where it looks a bit better than vanilla.
  12. Are those all ENBs that you listed? I'm not very familiar with ENBs so I'm hesitant to try them.. :s
  13. Can you show me some screenshots of the ENB you use? I wouldn't mind a decent low end one for brightness especially, I seem to have an issue even with RLO or EFLX where the game is either too bright or too dark (Like for example, when I go into a shop like belathors general goods, it's darker than a cave)
  14. No dedicated graphic card? Your bios is pretty dated. You should check your motherboard model and download latest version manualy. Don't forget to create restore point first. With only 4gb of ram your system might start dropping memory to page file when skyrim goes above aprox 2.5gb (windows + applications running in the background uses aroung 1.5gb). Everytime it does this you will see performance decrease or CTD/freeze if the application does not recover. I recommend getting 8gb for gaming. If this is not gonna happen anytime soon you should close all unnecessary programs/applications before running skyrim (check in task manager or get program that does that automaticaly). Not many ppl know it, but old sound drivers can drop your fps a lot. There were guys relying on windows and other program updates, finding out in the end they had drivers from 2006. Latest Realtek version is from May 2014. How to check your sound driver version: -Right click on sound icon on your windows taskbar. -Select Playback Devices. -Right click on Speakers, select Properties. -Click on Properties button. -Go to drivers tab. Google driver download site and install manualy, if necessary. Don't forget to set your sound quality under Advanced tab to 16 bit 48000 Hz (DvD Quality), while you're at it. I'll check out the sound thing, but it's weird because despite all that, Skyrim is the only game my computer struggles with. Almost every single game I've ever ran on my three years of having this computer usually runs at ultra with 50-60 FPS, but Skyrim is a pretty unique game with a lot going on. I'm thinking I might do lordmonkus said and just get rid of my graphics mods, and just live with vanilla skyrim stuff. But then at least I can mod my gameplay a lot.
  15. I'm thinking of downgrading, I usually play with skyrim 2k textures and RLO and SMIM, so maybe I'll just completely ignore graphics and just focus on gameplay. I appreciate the advice.

  17. I have everything you mentioned except the ENBoost and performance plus. I'm going to list my specs in a seperate post, just surprised anyone bothered to answer lol
  18. I'm trying to figure out what my game's boundries are for Skyrim, which I know sounds weird because every game i've ever played on this computer can run on ultra settings without any issues. I want to figure out what my limits are with modding, because I've tried to mod and remod my game time and time again, but I get CTDs occasionally and some places in the game come to a crawl at like 10-15 FPS, but other places run exceptionally well at like 50-60 FPS. My real goal is to get my game to look decent, but have it run great, and to perhaps drop down the CTDing a bit. I can list my Dxdiag here and my current mod list, but I doubt anyone will bother to respond to this anyways. Deuces.
  19. Thanks for all the replies everyone, I've been tinkering around with a few house mods and i've somewhat settled on silverfish grotto, but I don't know if I like the idea of it being in a cave. I'm going to keep looking around for some mods, as I don't have dragonborn yet. Despite this, I appreciate everyone's recommendations and feel free to list any more!
