This was really a bad idea.

I saw this mod released today. I'm gonna try it. -
Oh good! Glad to hear it. Make sure you read all about the bugs and follow the workarounds carefully. Getting out again is often impossible.

An idea for Fallout 4 - Lone Wanderer vs Courier
3rdtryguy replied to JackTrenton's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Discussion
All they have to do is just drift a couple thousand miles. It shouldn't be that hard. -
How about adding Robot Fighting to the Thorn?

Have you tried going to the bunker that starts it? It's a little south of Camp Forlorn Hope. More like south by southeast. There is a boobytrap in the bunker that starts it when you walk past a certain point. I know that's not what you were hoping for, but it's worth a try to at least see where the problem lies. If it's not on your radio, and there's no bunker, then it just didn't load. If the bunker is there, though, but it's not on your radio, then the problemis somewhere else.

The gold from the Sierra Madre is practicaly worthless. We need a way to run those gold bars through a bottlecap press and turn them into golden bottlecaps. They wouldn't be actual money, but would be valueable collector's items easily sold for lots of caps. A couple of years ago a guy was working on this, but he kinda drifted away. He did the math, and computed that one Sierra Madre 35-lb gold bar would make 2800 caps, each worth 3.74 caps, but that was deemed too silly. So, he dropped it down to 500 caps each worth 20. What i would like to see is a way to use either the Sunset Sarsaparilla bottle cap press OR the one on the Counterfeiting shack be given the power to turn one SM gold bar into 500 golden caps, each worth 20 caps. The one in the sodapop factory already works and has a pop-up script when you activate it, so it might be easier to use that one. It's part of a quest in which you have to destroy it, though, so the one in the counterfeit shack might be a better choice, if a bit trickier since you'd have to attach the script to it. Now that i think about it, anyone who knows how to write a script probably wouldn't have a problem with that anyway. So, whaddya say? Wanna make what is sure to be an incredibly popular mod loved by thousands who wish the gold was worth all the trouble they went to in getting it?

Wouldn't it be awesome if...

It would be a simple matter for the Lone Wanderer to fly to Vegas in his spaceship. -

What's the range on that thing? Could we, for example, hit Bonnie Springs with it from way up high on the ridge, or clear out all the deathclaws in Quarry Junction from a safe distance? -
There's no mod that lets you create a faction, but you can create one from scratch in the GECK. I wouldn't say it's easy. Actually, creating the faction is easy, but the tricky parts are assigning it's members and setting up how every other faction in the game will react with that faction. Of couse, the hardest part of using the GECK is finding the places where you can do the things you want to do. Actually, a mod that makes this much easier would be an AWESOME thing to have. I hope that someone reads this and makes it happen.

Things aren't as busy around here as they used to be, sad to say.

An idea for Fallout 4 - Lone Wanderer vs Courier
3rdtryguy replied to JackTrenton's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Discussion
Well, any problems aside, I'd love to see the Courier and the Wanderer meet up under some circumstances. OH! I got it! The Lone Wanderer flies Mothership Zeta to Nevada after hearing some of Mister New Vegas's reports of the Courier, and he basically abducts him. They team up and set sail for some wild & wooly area that will need both of them to tame. -

Fallout 4 Won't Feature Ron Perlman?
3rdtryguy replied to JimboUK's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Discussion
So this time the player character Isn't from a standard vault, but a cryo-vault? That fits. With superadvanced tech like cryogenics available, why sit around, age, and die in a vault when instead you could just cryosleep for a couple of hundred years? Brilliant. The Boston cryovaulters will be in for ine heck of a shock, though, when they see their new world... -

Well, there is a website called "Oblivion Real Estate" which used to keep track of all the known house mods, and some other mods, for this very purpose. Modders could check to see if the cell number they wanted to alter was already being used by some other mod. The site ultimately could't keep up with the sheer number of mods being churned out, but it tried. It might still be out there on the web. As for Skyrim, I don't know if any such site yet exists. If it doesn't, somebody should totally create one. EDIT-- Okay, I just checked. Skrim definitely has Skyrim Real Estate pages.

I honestly have no idea, BUT I do recall those poison gas traps in Ayleid ruins. They emit steamy vapor which is both toxic and which only rises to a certain height before disappearing. I would take a wild guess that the mechanics behind that can be altered to your purpose.

The daughter of the Forlorn Watchman, Angelie Blakely, lives in Talos Plaza. It has always bugged me that we can't talk about her dad after freeing his spirit. She will mention that her dad was lost at sea, but there is no way to let her know what happened or let her have her father's loot. I'd like to see a mod that adds some sort of personal item, like a locket or ring, to Grantham's body or treasure chest along with a note asking the finder to give it to Angelie. Then I'd like a dialog option to DO that when I find her, and have her say something about it all.

Ooohh, good call, Glitchipedia. Naturally, there should be something else down there worth finding, something they protect. Oh, one thing--- can you make this NOT require OBSE? I was wondering about clear domes: Would it be possible to make a miniature city under a clear dome? I was thinking about taking a gigantic crystal ball and sinking it in the floor of a cave so that only part of the globe was visible, and then putting a mini-model of an Ayleid city inside it sitting on the floor, but I don't know if the crystal balls in the game are actually hollow. I suppose we could get away with coloring a globe like they did with Savila's Stone to make it look like there's something in it, but it would be way cooler to be able to make an actual bottled city. NOTE-- Once teleported inside the bottled city, it would look like just an ordinary worldspace, kinda like Camoran's paradise, surrounded by water.

Whoa! MY brain hurts a bit after all of that. LOL Yodalike people living in the otherwise uninhabitable mists, leeching brain energy from hapless heores who fall down from the sky cities? Awesome!
-
Yes, I think the Ayleids should have survived. The way I'm seeing this, they fled to Masser as Nibenay fell, and had the fuses scattered to keep the humans from following them, which matches up with Umbacano's story in which he tells us the Ayleids had them scattered as White Gold Tower fell. As for native "Mass-mer" of a different origin, that would be cool. "Lorkhmer?" Ooooohh... Lorkhmer. I like the sound of that. Sounds like something Lorkham might have whipped up as one of his dying acts. Come to think of it, a few Dwemer, safely encapsulated in a pocket dimension at the time they vanished, might have escaped the fate of their brethren and survived. Aldmeris... hmm.. some say it never really existed, some say it was physically removed from the planet... I think it could have pulled a Pandaria and just vanished in the mists, yes. Like your map suggests, it could be way down south on it's own, enshrouded in magics which keeps anyone from ever being able to get close to it. In fact... That could lead to an expansion. Once it's existence was confirmed by looking at Nirm from Masser, a whole new mod could kick in dealing with the quest to find it. Other worlds. Hmm.. Well, the orrery plainly shows that this sun has a half dozen worlds or so orbiting it, so it's not unreasonable to flesh them out. In fact, it might be kind of cool to modify the original night sky to include some of these worlds. They'd look very small, of course. Your venus-like world of floating cities sounds pretty cool.
-
YES! Excellent! The texture of the terrain of Masser would be the easy part. Next we'd need to change the sky. Instead of looking up and seeing Masser and Secunda, we'd have to see Nirn and Secunda. Secunda would look a little bigger, maybe, but Nirn would be huge, looking at least twice the size that Masser looks from Nirn. There are a few mods which give us a globe of Nirn, but they all have writing on them and are too dark. We'd need a new globe model, this time without any writing on it, and preferably better illuminated. Making it have day/night would be great, but we can live without it if necessary. It would have to have the other major lands on it, though, Atmora, Akavir, Summerset. I think that Yokuda suffered a cataclysm and sank, but a big dark shape beneath the waters should be seen, ringed with little fragmentary remnant islands. Don't forget the icecaps and some other islands scattered here and there. Well southwest of Summerset there are some little islands where some people called the Maomer live. Atmosphere on Masser is thin, but at least it does have one. Windstorms would work, sure. I'm thinking that the people living there live in underground cities with definite Ayelid characteristics. Another idea is that they have instead built themselves some pocket dimension spaces hidden deep within some buidings, and the teleporters allowing access are hidden in those buildings. This would let them live a more-or-less normal life in an otherwise inhospitable area. These little bottled cities wouldn't be conncted to each other, though, requiring travel on the planet's surface to move between them. Hmmm... how about TWO civilizations? The bottled people living a life of ease and luxury, and the outsiders who live, well, outside, in the harsh environment? Maybe the outsiders are descended from exiled outcasts banished from the protected realms? Neither would be especially friendly by any means.

Take a look at Nibenay. ( the Imperial City ) See how different it is from all the other old ruins? See how it's shaped? It's a giant sattellite dish / teleport beam/ repusoblaster whatever. Plenty of potential here for it to be much more than just an ancient city, and again, look at those old Ayleid statues. Metal, with Pins, a crystalline core... they're fuses, I tellya! The fuses that are needed to let the old city do what it was really made for...whatever that was. Do you have the Deserts of Anequina mod? The terrain of Elswheyr would be perfect for Masser, a desert full of big reddish rocks.

Hello. New to The forums and Modding in general.
3rdtryguy replied to CapNKirkland's topic in Oblivion's Classic Discussion
As I recall, you have to start OBSE first, and then launch Oblivion FROM it. That way, Oblivion is running inside of OBSE.
