  1. @Jaysus

When you possess the religious artifacts or places, it grants you a great power... That is why they are fighting for, power, not religion or pleasing Allah or God or whatever the name is... Religion is still a great source of power especially among the islamic countries... the 3rd world countries are still influenced by religion... There are more mosques in Turkey then banks :D or schools or universities... Of course some people are profiting from this war, I will not deny that but the main conflict is about the religion and the power that it brings... If religion wasnt that powerful, we wouldnt know any crusades right? As Saladin says in movie kingdom of heaven, you know Orlando Bloom asks what is the value of Jerusalem, Saladin answers "nothing... and everything..." that is really it... never underestimate the power of religion, you see in iran, iraq, syria, many muslim countries are ruled with the Sheria... they dont know secularism...

But whatever reason they are fighting for, land, money, god, power, the death toll rises and people suffer... UN needs to act fast, if they can... :D

  2. You wanted me dead and you are the victim here?

    Dont make me laugh...

    What was it? Lemme see...

"Death to all middle east I say, that would solve the problem nicely"

I am pretty sure I didnt make this up... You wanted me dead just because I have a different religious belief then yours... If this is freedom of speech, sir you can have it back...

If what I do here is trolling or flaming, please dont hesitate to ban me or strike me or erase my account...

And yes I am really a resident in middle east, I live in Turkey, I am a muslim, believe or not... So if someone wishes me and all my muslim sisters and brothers dead, I answer back, then I am trolling?

  3. BTW I will recommend Bioshock if you didnt play it, it is mostly a shooter but I think it is one of the best stories I witnessed recently...

Thanks for the recommendation, but i've already played it. I played for about an hour before I got so bored that I had to stop.

I kinda liked it, I didnt play FPS for a long time and it felt... good... But I still suck at FPS :D

Someone mentioned Crysis? dude, if you like FPS go get it but otherwise the game is... well looks nice, the water is brilliant, I just can stare at the horizon for hours, but the game is frustrating, the AI is good, but also tough... I once shot an enemy and he fell down, he was still alive so I put a bullet to his head... Well he got up like he was not shot in the head (I could see the bullet mark :)) and shot me close range with a shotgun and took me down :D I dont like that kind of games, just to make the game harder you create enemies with more HP then yours...

As for Deus Ex... I need to try those mods, thanks for the links people :D

  4. @assasin

    lol

dunno but i guess you have some serious personel issues i dont wanna even know of...

and actually i think it would be good if you redid some years of shool...

just to point out one thing: the hague convention is thought for "wars" - that conflict is not defined as a war but as an insurgence and thus deserves no hague treatement, and this does not come from the palesties but the israelis and their supporting UN buddies (contemporary example can be seen in the lebanon incurrsion last year... or 2 yrs ago - which was classed not as war again)

apart from that noone on this planet still gives a damn about conventions... banned ammo, banned chemicals, banned bombs, banned mines... all produced, distributed and used by our oh so honorable nations of the "civilized west"

    puke

    @linspuppy

;) like you... good points there but not all is right...

1st judaism wasnt so different from other religions at the time... take zochorastrianism (or however its spelled lol) - its basicly the religion spread out through the whole persian empire till alexander the mighty mad and is the fundamental base of all later monotheistic religions including judaism (apart maybe from the even earlier worship of Ra in egypt)

and as you rightfully say all 3 main religions follow the same god... sadly only islam accepts other believers of "the book" as m(a/u)sr(e/i) (egyptian, muslim, believer - no vocals in arab thus in brackets) whereas the other two older ones shun their counterparts as blasphemie even tho they all say the same... so i can only assume that the leaders of these religions didnt want peace and harmony but strived for power... and examples like the one i mentioned where moses kills half his people cause theyre having fun and seem to fall for the old and free gods just support that fact (not theory...)

and here we are... its is NOT about religion... religion has always been a tool and will always be, a tool to unite and controle cattle... was replaced in modern times by money using the corrupt banking system invented in babylon and seen to work just aswell or even better than religion...

buddhism is the only religion is see fit for mankind as it says goodbye to prejeduce and all that control freakness

as to the holocoust, yes it sounds harsch and nasty - but thats what it is or was... just remind yourself of all the false flag operations to achieve a goal... 911 was just one of the latest and to me there is no doubt that many influencial jews knew about the holocoust and greedily supported it like the rothshild banks for example

its a basic ruling method deriving from times even before machiavelli... if you dont like somin and want it gone but lack the support, well make it look worse... whats easier than to join that side and support it to do even worse?

you cant compare a huge building like the vatican with a whole nation... really... they dont even have a tank let alone a fighter jet...

i give a damn bout spellcheckers to be honest lol

and well i also know quite some people with different believes than me... (not every rpg players is an eremit idiot you know)

Well...as I dont recall calling you an idiot I would say I know that. And I am certainly am not....however as to my joke about the spell checker..I am a horrib speller but it is honestly difficult to take one seriously when you have to decipher half the words.

As for my mention of religion....what is so different about the development of the Judaic mind-set was that in these times relgiious outlook was completely seperate from all other things..The Jews were the first to have a moral outlook on every aspect of life as through their religion.(unlike say the Greeks who seperated law and morality) they were also the 1st to emphasize that all people and life was of value and that not only were the rich and powerful worth something. It is this that is most prevalent in our socienty...even if it is not always practiced.

And not this is not a religious debate but you can not discuss the actions of either side without that contecxt as I assume that you know.

And you can compare the Vatican....they need not a tank to have power and influence. Maybe it is not the same as it was long ago when all rule came from the Catholic Church but it is powerful just the same.

And Islam does view the Jewish and Christian traditons with respect, but believes that the Word of God has becine corrupt and that Islam is the true and unaltered word of God. So it isnt as if everyone gets a free ride here. Also unlike both Christianity and Islam the Jews no longer "missionize" tohers (ie convert) so I would saytheir acceptance is a more non-evasive one. I have never has a Jew at my door but have had missionaries from both other religions there.

However as I stated before...if peace is truely wanted we and all other sides need to stop pointing fingers about who has what rights, whose fault things are, etc. Both sides need to be treated with equal severirty and other Nations must insist that all this fighting is unacceptable and back this up. neither of these countries could live without outside commerce. However I doubt this will happen. And if left on thier own they will NOT stop fighting.

Unless you live there every day I do not think you can know the truth about what happens. I know the US give a decidedly pro-Israeli spin to things. I assume other countries face this as well.

However as you say this isnt a religious discussion..you can not debate this out of that context..and you can not look at the reasons these people continue to fight without seeing that their beliefs are at the very center of this.

And looking through many of these post...(and I am not saying you Jaysus_ there is a great deal of hatred being shown toward both these groups of people. Much more that in may other debabte threads I have seen. To say let them alone to sort it out is not something that is helpful..but also thinking that the powers int he world have allt he solutions is also incorrect. The way to peace is for these people to see they can live together and still have thier beliefs and faith intact.

Well What Lisnpuppy is right, you cant take out religion out of the equation, since Jerusalem is the only place where three major religions stand side by side... You cant take out religion out of the equation because fear of the unknown is a great source of power, and the raw root of power lies in Jerusalem... The one religion ruling there will have a massive influence over the world... Because there is an entity called God, wheter you believe or not, many people believe and fear God... and fear of God is a strong motivator, think of Hashishin, the assassin guild... so possessing a powerful relic of God is an important thing...

as for leaving them alone, I agree that they can not sort it out by themselves... I remember Israel giving back a little piece of land, they can not succed against terrorism, but the arabs can not drive out Israel since they are backed by the US... so a powerful international organisation shoul try to sort things out, but this is definitely not UN... They only watch as people die and suffer...

  5. Indeed. Linspuppy, thanks for that intelligent post before. It would do many people well to learn more about both Islam and Judaism.

8 million Russians died in that war. They do not portray themselves as victims.

Really? That can't possibly be because they were part of a gigantic military force, right? As opposed to, you know, German citizens being persecuted and killed by their own government.

Not to say the deaths of the Soviets was not also a horrid thing..and then they faced extermination by their own government also...but I also do not view the Holocaust the same as the Soviet deaths as it was military or civilian deaths at military occupation at the time.

Thank you and I hope that others will take a greater interest in looking beyond the surface of these matters.

3.3 million Soviets died in Nazi camps. Almost 11 million died in action. Tens of millions were killed by Uncle Joe. You know, persecuted and killed by their own government. They aren't crying about it. They have MOVED ON.

The difference between Israel and Hamas is that Hamas fires indiscriminately, while Israel actively tries to avoid civillian casualties, going so far as to warn them in advance.

As much as I dislike the Jews, at least they are prosecuting with honor.

I dont think you know the meaning of honor...

  6. Because there really weren't people living there. It was a wasteland. The Israelis came in, built infrastructure and irrigation systems, made it quasi-livable, and all of a sudden Muslims start flooding in crying about "their" land. The only thing that's "yours" is what you can hold on to. Just ask the "native" Americans. (who migrated from Asia, making them... Not native. That's for a different debate...)

Israel suffers a PR problem because they over react to the smallest aggression and pound the poo out of the instigator. Seein' as how the Muslims keep lobbing their piddly little hobby rockets into Israel knowing full well what will come of it, one must infer that they LIKE getting bombed. Hell, they bomb themselves! I think I'm on to something here...

Seriously though, you'd think they'd figure out by now you can set it down and walk away, and live to bomb another day...

first, if it was a wasteland before the jews, why would they migrate there in the first place...

Second the muslims didnt "flood" in, they were already living there...

Third, the jews claim the land based on their holy book, to end their Exodus... After that they tried to drive out the muslims there... Crusades ring a bell? They were backed by England after the WW1 to go and "invade" the lands... The pact was that the jews would be peaceful and live side by side with the muslims there, guess what? didnt happen... this actions were even backed by the jews in USA back then cause they didnt want their fellow jew people to come back to US and get in the economic system, that would mean less profit for the jews back in US...

I am not saying what hamas did was legal or just... I am just saying they were pushed to be extreme because of the jews... The situation went downhill after the death of Yaser Arafat...

How would you feel if a new neigbor moves in next door, comes to your door and offers cookies and a warm conversation, the next day he would come and offer your whole family shotgun shells, bust their brains out and then forces you to leave your home... Will you say "he earned my home by blood and killed my whole family so he has the right to "claim" my home."

We are living in a "civilized" world, it may not look like it but the rules are to maintain peace, not to be broken... Both sides are not playing by the rules but one side is aggressive doesnt mean the other side should resort to violence too... We are not living in a jungle, so the powerful shall not and will not trample down the weak...

  7. you should add

    Empiers: Total war

will be released in2 months i think

    Oh yeah! hell Yeah!! :D

the release date has been pushed to march 09...

    2. Dragon age origins... Will not ever be as good as Baldurs Gate but it will be a nice change, a standard iso cam and such :D

    3. Project V13... I dont know if it will ever be produced but the guys from interplay is preparing a fallout MMORPG :D I hate MMRPG but I can certainly give it a try :D

    4. Nba 2k10 :D I know it is a long shot but after waiting for decades, it has come for the PC and it just rocks! good bye nba live...

    5. Magic the gathering... I think something new is coming up and I hope it has single player mod very much like shandalar...

  8. I took a look at the reviews and many PC users complained about the poor porting to PC... The huge systems barely let the game work but mid range systems just fail to run it properly... That is what I heard, so I didnt bother buying it...
  9. I've beat that game so many times.....

DEUS EX 3 IS COMMING OUT (in like 5 years tho)

But I guess it will not be able to beat the first game, even the invisible wars... I heard that accuracy will not be dependent on your skill points, so it will be an FPS I guess...

  10. I still play it... I installed the game of the year edition recently before Fallout III was released... It is probably the best political rpg shooter I ever played... Wonder if it is true thou, really did rockefellar give the land to build the UN building :D

BTW I heard something about the new deus ex, one of the developers said that (I hope it is a rumor, please God let it be a rumor and not a fact)

"If you are a skilled shooter, why miss a shot if your skill points are low"

And there goes my rpg, welcome 3rd rate half finished ugly shooter named Deus Ex III... Retards... I just cant believe it, I mean cmon are we, the hard core gamers are dead or extinct? Noone bothers to make a good rpg anymore?

BTW I will recommend Bioshock if you didnt play it, it is mostly a shooter but I think it is one of the best stories I witnessed recently...

  11. But you know coastal cities are invaluable if you run a SE there, with right wonders, coastal cities can become great person farms or just money bags :) That is why first civilizations are formed near water... so getting coastal cities from AI is a major blow, I remember I had a coastal town, which was popping out GP every 10 turns... get some great engineers and rush some GP point generating wonders and there you go, a GP farm :) or pick a financial leader and put in banks on coastal cities, get some cottages around the coastal cities, there you go, you have a money bag :)

My complaint is, later in the game you cant really do cultural flips, so taking over a city peacefully is harder... In order to grab more land you need to resort to violence, which I know Sid Meier is not fond of... :)

Oh btw did you see the "I am a civ addict" movies? I just love the old lady there :D

  12. Well as a Civ 4 freak, I once won a culture victory while I was chasing the space race... Space race is too lame to chase but AI loves to chase it... I dont really like to fight too much in Civ4 but the sad part is the scoring system is broken, the more land you gain, the more score you get... so late in the game you need to start a war with another nation...
  13. I would like to see random encounters again... Also instead of teleporting (aka fast travel) you would walk on the map like the old fallouts, that way you can have some random encounters if you wish to fast travel...

And please a better ending and being able to play on after I beat the game... Also I want to be able to tell Fawkes to end the game :) that way noone dies and everyone is happy :)

  14. I see that LHammonds wrote down Vampire the Masquerade... Which one is it? Bloodlines or Redemption... I have to say Bloodlines was fun and I play it every once in a while but Redemption was something else entirely... I would very much recommend to people who likes a good RPG...

I have to add Jagged Alliance 2 here since it is the best turn based strategy/RPG hybrid I have ever played...

  15. A game shouldn't restrict a player... It is against the very nature of Fallout, you can become a villain, a saint, a thief, a slaver a raider you name it... The freedom of choice should not be restricted by the programmers... Then take out the stealing out of the game... or take out kinky underwear off the game... I saw billions of weird mods for Oblivion and even one that adds boners to the game (Slof I guess) I dont like them much either but I respect the ones who made the mods and who downloaded them...

As for the people who think killing children is pathetic, I guess these people never played Fallout 1 or 2, and tried to kill every last living person in the city by going in rage... :) or spraying a child's brain out just you are tired of seeing them running around you and never leave you alone in peace :D

  16. OOC>If we were smart adventurers, we would grab the boy and run the other way but noo, we should always get ourselves into trouble, we should seek out the most dangerous place on earth and go in there, why? Because we are adventurers :D

"we go down then?" mac readies his short sword...
