Hey guys, I hope everyone is staying safe! I have an issue with my installation of the Creation Kit for Fallout 4. All objects with textures are completely black, including the terrain. Markers are fine. It happened randomly; the closest thing I can remember doing is importing a custom mesh as an ArmorAddon, but it worked for a while after still. I've attached a screenshot here so you can see what I mean. Does anyone have any idea what this bug is? Is it a known bug, and if so, how can I go about fixing it? Many thanks! UPDATE: I managed to fix it! For anyone who may stumble on the same issue and find this post, simply delete your CreationKitPrefs.ini file and let the Creation Kit generate a new one.

GOG is alright, but the library of games available will never be as big as Steam. It's fantastic for older games, though. I have Fallout 1 and 2 on there, as well as Battlespire and Redguard (although Redguard runs awfully).

In response to post #39475030. I don't think so. It would cause mayhem if they did, and they know that.

Modding isn't fun anymore. :(
-
In response to post #37088665. #37088895 is also a reply to the same post. Bethesda.net isn't that bad. Modding is done directly within the game. And this time, they understood, no automatic updates. It's nothing like the Steam Workshop for Skyrim, which is atrocious. It also works in conjunction with the NMM without any issues (so far for me). Also, it isn't DRM, AFAIK there is no DRM copy protection on the Creation Kit (the launcher simply controls updates, you can launch directly from the CK), it's because Creation Kit mods are now pushable to consoles, therefore it wouldn't make much sense to host it on Steam, a PC gaming platform. It's probably much easier for them to deliver version updates through there new launcher.

In response to post #35637927. Indeed, if you can spare it, and you use this site a lot, definitely worth it.

Went on Steam, saw this: http://i.imgur.com/nN9iOgm.png?2 What is this? Does anybody have an explanation? The Creation Kit isn't out yet, nor is the Workshop. Odd...

Witcher 3 modding tools released with NMM support
StupidDunmer replied to TheTokenGeek's topic in Site Updates
In response to post #27832820. #27832915 is also a reply to the same post. Yeah, I am assuming that this sort of development process will help us work with the REDKIT when it comes. Like a functional tech demo or something. Still awesome, going to try some custom texturing. -
Around 28 days ago I ordered and received my SteelSeries Siberia RAW Prism headset. It is a USB headset, works perfectly, great sound quality and microphone quality was brilliant, too. Now, however, I am having problems with it. It has been less than a month, and my PC will not recognise it. I don't have another computer to try it on, and I keep getting a particular error code, like so: Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43) A request for the USB device descriptor failed. When I turn the PC on, the lights on it illuminate perfectly, but everything else has stopped working and Windows will not recognize it. I've tried reinstalling my USB drivers, cleanly uninstalling all of my headset drivers, disabling all other audio devices, turning off my PC and unplugging it for 30 seconds, unplugging it and plugging it back in multiple times, changing BIOS settings, and nothing at all has worked for me. Does anyone have any ideas? Am I going to have to return them? Thanks in advance.

LE Copying an entire worldspace in TESVedit?
StupidDunmer replied to Di0nysys's topic in Skyrim's Creation Kit and Modders
Technically you could, as they are incredibly similar to interior cells. The only issues I'd expect you to come across are problems with markers and references. You'd have to ensure the entire worldspace didn't have any bad references, and you'd also have to ensure it is isolated from its duplicate worldspace so that they don't conflict. But theoretically it is possible. Is it recommended? I doubt it. -
More Old-school RPG Experience for Skyrim?
StupidDunmer replied to StupidDunmer's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Started a play-through with Requiem. The combat system is absolutely brilliant! I actually feel like I am accomplishing something when I kill higher level enemies. I've looked for a Morrowloot 4E edition Requiem patch, but I can't find one anywhere. -
I am currently looking for modders for an ongoing project, Hjermskiir. I need to get this project done as I am to move on to other things in the coming months. For this, I need the help of a few people. We currently have: 2 NPC Creators1 Dungeon CreatorOST Already ComposedWhat we need: Side Quest WriterTexturer (Armor and Creatures) These are the priorities of what we are looking for right now. The main quest and city interiors will all be handled by me, just like the worldspace is. I feel that there is a lot to come for this project, but due to the medium sized scope of it, I feel we can complete it sooner. Also, the reason we are only looking for a texturer and not a modeller is to take time. If you have experience with NifSkope too, that is a bonus. The most important part, however, is just getting the unique armor done. The Side Quest Writer is also important. There doesn't need to be an incredible amount of side quests as the main scope of this project is to portray a story, but having side quests, rewards, dungeons and other things surrounding this island I have designed will make it seem more alive, as well as full AI packages, etc. I want it to be a very high quality project. If you are interested, please email me at coffeeaddictuk@gmail.com. Responding here on the Nexus is not as easy as checking my email, so it is much more likely I will respond if you email me. Here is the link to the project on ModDB. Thanks in advance!

Hi guys, I have been wanting to do another Skyrim playthrough, but after recently playing Morrowind, I feel I would like to experience Skyrim in a way which is more unforgiving and unleveled. I'm talking about things such as more in-depth skills, an unlevelled world, more difficult fights, etc. When playing Morrowind I loved the inherent danger of exploring ruins at lower level, knowing that you are definitely not skilled enough to explore it. In Skyrim, I always had that thought in the back of my head, knowing it would be levelled. A completely unlevelled experience would be perfect. Another thing is the loot system. Making things such as Dwemer armor and Ebony armor much more rare, and making Daedric armor next to impossible to get. Of course, I have looked into Requiem and I think it ticks all of these boxes, but I am really not sure if there are any better alternatives out there. What's a good set of mods (or singular mod) which could provide this experience closer than Requiem, if any at all? I think an experience like this in the engine and the world of Skyrim would be absolutely brilliant. I love the world of Morrowind, and hopefully some sort of unleveling mod and a similar overhaul to Requiem is done for Skywind, too (I really can't wait for that mod). Thanks in advance!

LE Merging ESP into parent ESM
StupidDunmer replied to Haptly's topic in Skyrim's Creation Kit and Modders
Yeah, merging them as ESPs is a much easier method, which I am in fact using now for my project. I use TES5Edit for it.- 8 replies

Firstly, I'd try installing SSME (Skyrim Start-up Memory Editor) to help alleviate a few RAM limitations. Then try installing ENBoost, and both of these together will fix all of your RAM issues. If this doesn't fix the crashes when going outside, then one of your mods is causing the exterior cells to crash. Good luck fixing your problem!

You want a mod called 'SkyUI-Away'. Most mods need SkyUI to function for the Mod Configuration Menu which appears when you press escape. Here is a link to it (install it on top of SkyUI). Good luck!

My Opinion on the Current State of the Skyrim Nexus
StupidDunmer replied to StupidDunmer's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
I wasn't really complaining, I was just stating my observation. This is a great community, and I feel that it may be losing a grip in certain senses, but that's inevitable with a community this mature. I understand your input on the generic nature of what I said, I have also seen it a lot. I just wanted to see the opinion of some other members of the community, that is all. :) -
My Opinion on the Current State of the Skyrim Nexus
StupidDunmer replied to StupidDunmer's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
I understand what you mean. I understand that there are still many ideas coming around, but I feel that in some cases, things are being milked. Mods are being made for the sake of being made, not because of a unique idea. I'm not saying that's a bad idea, I'm just saying it is what it is. I didn't mean to offend. -
I've been an on/off regular on the Nexus for around two years now. I love the site, and I feel that the ability to create and share your own work for a game you love with others with the ability to get positive feedback is absolutely great. There are so many mods out now for Skyrim, and I am losing count of how many mods I have enjoyed over the time I have been modding Skyrim. I just have one thing I need to get out in the open. It is my opinion, and I don't know how people will take it, but here it goes. The community has run dry of ideas. The same mods are being created now with new names and minimal difference. There is scarcely any new ideas, and big projects are quite far away from release. It's as if the modding community is trying to grasp onto something so special they want it to last forever. I'm pretty sure at one point there was a series of mod releases where a few textures were modified (which don't get me wrong, was a great mod), each separately, and almost every single one reached the hot files. The other division is followers. There are so many unique followers (Inigo for example) that it has inspired others. I get it, it's great to have many different characters added to the game. But it's getting old now. I just feel like there aren't going to be any new ideas for a long while. When there is, it jumps right up to the top of the hot files. But right now, it's very inactive. What's the opinion of you guys?

Changing the height with RaceMenu above around 1.2 always made my character look... Slightly out of place. It's mostly due to the fact that height scaling on Skyrim also changes the width of your character by the same percentage, it is literally an upscaling of the character, not really height. I don't know if there are any mods out there which sort this problem out, though, but Noortje is right, unless you want clipping make sure it is shorter than a door.

LE Skyrim Creation Kit: How do I fake a death?
StupidDunmer replied to Mordivier2's topic in Skyrim's Creation Kit and Modders
I believe you'll have to make two versions of that NPC, one of them being the fake dead body, then you'll have to assign it to an X marker for where the dead body will appear which will be spawned as the script says. It's something along those lines, I recommend looking into making things spawn with scripts. Here's a link to the Creation Kit wiki page on scripts: http://www.creationkit.com/Category:Papyrus -

http://s14.postimg.org/vx9nw5f9d/23vb7kx.png UPDATE - 06/06/2015 I intend to initiate the development phase of Hjermskiir at the beginning of July. I will have much more time to communicate with whoever joins up, and I'd absolutely love to complete this mod some time soon. If you are able to join the cause and help me finish what I started, message me with what you want to do to contribute to the mod! What is Hjermskiir? Hjermskiir is an unfinished project of mine. I intended to create an island, in the Sea of Ghosts, a frozen mysterious land with a tribe of Atmoran adaptations with tinted purple hair and thick, leathery skin. It was to be a lore friendly way to implement a place of my imagination into the world of Skyrim. Hjermskiir back story Even though books have been written and tales have been told, the current state of Hjermskiir lies unexplained. The cold, cave-like isolated climate explains as far as the adaptions and the towering fungal flora, but does not explain the prominent crystal structures erupting from the ground. Some believe them to be soul gems, harvesting whatever dies in the land of Hjermskiir. Appointed by the king of Hjermskiir, after telling the tales of Tamriel, and earning his trust within the walls of Orphichitzin, the Dragonborn shall help the high priest of the ancient construct of Azura's Prospect prove to the Miphorchatzin that these crystals are Azura's way of communicating with the Hjern, and by not uncovering the truth, the Miphorchatzin may be driving Hjermskiir into an uncounterable fate. What is this post all about? The landscape is done and rough background story is done. All I need now is to finish the rest, and for that, I would need a small team. The kinds of things I will need are: Side Quest Writers - Just interesting side quests, etcDialogue Writers - The dialogue for the quests needs to be written, not exactly my strong point :smile:NPC Designers - Interesting NPCs with dialogues and jobs etc, just living their livesLore and Book writers - A few books on the island, making it fit in with the lore of the world etcDungeon and Interior creators - I absolutely suck at this, my main strong point is landscape creation :smile:I will be taking care of: Landscape (Pretty much done anyway)Main Quests (The plot I have covered, although at times I may need support)Bandits and guards (These are pretty much done already)If you want to take part, be sure to PM me with what you want to do, and if there is any previous things you want to show me be sure to go ahead!
