  1. Some of my favorite quest lines in TES have been the ones to obtain the various Daedric artifacts. However the quest lines have no stakes and sometimes require your character to do things that is not consistent with your play style if you want to collect all of them. For example if you are playing a "good" character it doesn't make sense for him to cannibalize a guy to get the Ring of Namira, or sacrificing a friend to Boethia for the Ebony Mail. And if you are playing a "bad" character it hardly makes sense for him to aid Meridia. Sure, there are mods like Namira for good guys and Boethia for good guys, but they just don't raise the stakes high enough. The load screen hints even provide a solution to make these quests more dynamic and interesting, as well as allow a "good" character to get some of the darker artifacts. It's stated that adventurers of all stripes seek out the Daedric artifacts to aid them in their journeys. So what if you weren't the only option a Daedric Prince had for their champion? What if there were 15 new adventurer NPCs added to the game who's sole purpose was to personally seek out their favored Daedric prince for their favor? They would have course need to allow you to have enough time to get the artifacts for yourself, but I believe the best way to activate the change in the quest lines is if you refuse to help a Daedric Prince. They simply find another to do their bidding resulting in new quests which would allow you to achieve the artifact in a different way. Think of it as an if you won't do it someone else will. Here are a few ideas I have off the top of my head: Namira: You meet Eola in the Hall of the Dead, she talks to you about eating the dead and cannibalization, you think it's disgusting and refuse to help. This option introduces a new character to the game. A set number of game days after you refuse you begin hearing rumors of a serial killer going from town to town. The MO is always the same, the killer is eating parts of the victims before moving on. It's now your task to investigate and track this npc down and upon their death you find the ring of Namira. Mephala: This one actually has some unused elements taken out of the final release of the game. It appears from some unused dialogue that if you didn't do this quest fast enough that one by one Jarl Balgruuf's kids fall under her influence resulting in patricide, where Hrongar would have taken over. I had another idea of a member of the Jarls court investigates the kids himself if you don't do it quick enough, marking the quest as failed. This is followed by being asked by the same member of the court asking you to accompany him on a quest somewhere, and he abruptly attempts to use the Ebony Blade on you when you are both alone. Boethia: He/she has plenty of followers out there by the shrine. One of them could just as easily win the contest, and then come after you to prove their worth. Clavicus Vile: You don't help Barbas, he finds someone else. Using The Masque of Clavicus Vile this adventurer now has the ability to get into whatever town or city you are traveling through, and sell his stuff to the vendors wiping out their daily gold quota, effectively cutting off your ability to sell there for the day. Your only option to stop this from happening now is to kill this adventurer in cold blood. Meridia: You don't clear out the shrine, someone else handles it. Your only option now to bet Dawnbreaker is to kill a well liked adventurer. Once this npc has it you will only encounter them in the big cities. All of the NPCs introduced here would need to be extremely difficult to beat, since they possess the artifacts and their natures should be consistent with followers of their particular Daedric Prince. This mod should also give you ample opportunity to gain the daedric artifacts that are consistent with your play style. If you are playing a good guy do the daedric quests that follow your personality, and find the darker ones through beating an extended quest line that lets you thwart the will of the Daedric princes you despise. Play a bad guy and get the appropriate artifacts then kill the champions of the neutral/good Daedric Prince. You choose which Dadric Princes you work with. I am not a mod maker myself, so I hope this idea gets into the hands of a great mod maker. I'd love to see this idea in action!
  2. Ok, as informative as your was, it wasn't really helpful. The original copy of skyrim I played on my computer was a pirated copy. It was modded and worked fine. I know I'm going to get some crap about pirating skyrim now, but I already bought it for 360 and didn't want to purchase it again to play it with mods. The new version is legit and came from The Elder Scrolls Anthology pack. Since Skywind is in development I want to make sure I will be able to run it when it gets finished. I loaded the new copy of skyrim to a completely different folder on my computer. I was thorough when I purged the old copy of skyrim from my computer, all files and traces of it are completely gone. The recommendation that I use BOSS was pointless as I had already pointed out in my post that BOSS refuses to install on my computer. All of which are now mute points as I have deleted skyrim and all components from my computer yet again out of frustration due to this issue. If you can help with advice on a fresh install without any issues, and perhaps anything I have missed in my purge it would appreciate it
  3. Ok, So I played and moded skyrim a year ago. I decided I wanted to run another play through using different mods for a different experience yesterday. Since I had a few corrupted "Bermuda triangle" areas towards the end of my last play through I decided to completely delete and reinstall skyrim along with any mods I wanted. I only chose mods that enhanced immersion and my lore experience, and made sure to double check and research each one to make sure there would be no conflicts. So I got Alternative Start - Live Another Life. The game crashes as soon as I finish the character creation section and I am able to look around the room, I can get no further before it CTDs. I tried turning off Alternative Start, starting a new game and the result was the game starting out the vanilla way with a twist, and I mean that literally! I started out waking up in the cart, only my head was spinning around, what I could make out was noticing that things weren't put together the way they should be, like the wheel was sticking up through the bottom of the cart and there was no horse in front, it was walking next to it about 10 feet away to the right. The graphics also look horrible. I've gone through every trouble shooting advice and tools I can think of, and I am not a beginner modder. I'm using Wrye Bash, SKSE, SkyUI, Safety Load, ENBoost, all are up to date. My video drivers are all up to date. I have run TES5Edit to make sure all mods are in the correct load order. They are. I don't have BOSS, but only because it refuses to install. It says that MSVCP120.dll is missing from my computer even though I've triple checked and verified that it is indeed on my computer. But This is a separate issue and shouldn't have any impact on the reason my game keeps ctd where it does. I've already run through every youtube ctd troubleshooting video I can find, and I can't find any reason why it keeps crashing. Right now I've got about 130 or so mods, so I'm not even close to the limit. Anyone have any ideas I may have missed to fix this problem?
