  1. Might try that. Thanks for suggestion. Not very certain though, if that will get only slider preset or sliders and face sculpt both onto player. I was also thinking of following way: would it be possible to make a dummy NPC entry that hath the desired characteristics (including face preset) and then force copy NPC attributes onto PC character?
  2. Greetings, fellow modders I have been contemplating making a story mod, but there is one issue: I want it to be a story about particular character (like Witcher is a story about Geralt of Rivia, not some random character, that cometh from character creation), As we know, there is "NPC" entry called "prisoner" in Skyrim, that would become our PC and that character creation is applied to. My question is, would it be possible to make it so, that either through a certain choice in certain dialogue (for example if I was to make it as a Live Another Life addon or something similar) or using a certain item, we would force a certain appearance (a racemenu preset for example), name and other starting attributes on our PC? If 'tis doable, then I'd appreciate any information on how to do this, because my scripting skills are a bit lacking (I can modify and adjust existing scripts, but writing them from scratch is still beyond my abilities)

  4. One doth not simply plug Tile Generator into Tile Generator - ancient saying among Substance Designer users.
  5. Why do you lose yourself? You have taken party. More than once. Neutrality looks different. This whole nonsense of you, pours only more oil into the fire Nonsense s pretty magical word. Very useful to show that thou do not want discussion and do not respect any opinion other than thy own regardless of how correct or incorrect it is. For clarification, I was talking about not taking sides in question "Is the change in copyright policy of this side good or bad?". But as for question "Can site owner change rules 180 degrees if they want" - answer is clearly "yes" because such right was established by existing rules since basically this site's founding. This is not taking sides, it's acknowledging the objective reality. This site had and has policies that I hate from the bottom of my heart (these changes we are talking about might or might not be one of those), but I always considered and consider it only be right to keep calm, civil, not take my frustration out publicly and play by the rules, like them or not. Flipping tables and throwing tantrums like I see people now doing is a sign of gross immaturity and what I said I said to help them to overcome this and get better. If a certain functionality of this website is governed by policy I hate, I just do not use such functionality and thus am not a subject to that policy instead of demanding site owners to do what I want, throwing tantrums, insulting people who's opinion I do not like or any other despicable actions. Taking out frustration on me of all things will not help thee (or anyone, really) in any way. Hatred/anger never helped anyone, no matter how motivated or not.
  6. If you think such change infringes your rights, you can sue them. To me however it looks no different from demands to accept new EULA that Microsoft, Google or Apple send their users with only options to accept or cease using their platforms immediately. Nexusmods website rules state following (2020 redaction, so you can't say it was added yesterday): Terms of Service - Nexus Mods Site Help Thus following logic thou, kind sir, have provided, if apartment rent contract would have had similar clause in it, owner might even be able to do what thy example said, unless laws of state explicitly prohibits him to. (I wouldn't have signed a contract like that if apartment rent would had been in question, but that's me). This is all Thy personal opinion. While working with people is great and probably would have lead to a compromise, BUT owner hath no obligation to do so and people have no right to demand owner to do so if owner decides he does not want compromise. Again, this site is a private space and not some democracy. Watch your tone sir. Going emotional and speaking like this to person thou met for the first time shows thee and through obviously bad upbringing all thy lineage in a very bad light. If thou do not care for thy own reputation, then at least have mercy on thy parents. Well, they said it a month before any changes will be applied. If thou decide to disagree with EULA and leave, delete all thy content and it will still remain accessible to users of this site before the one month period this site's owner gave everyone, then it definitely would be a problem. But something tells me, if that happened, then thou would have mentioned it in thy post already, since it would directly prove thy point that this website has wronged thee already. And again, your (and I am speaking about everyone not just the person I was replying to until now) frustration is understandable, your comfort zone has been destroyed and this much is obvious. But let's converse in a civil and mature way. I am not affiliated with this site's staff in any way and again, I am not taking sides in regard whom the IP should belong to by justice. I might or might not like the old rules more I will not state my stance towards whether it is a good change or not, so I might as well actually be of same opinion as you all who got frustrated, who knows. BUT I certainly claim is that site owner can change rules when and however they see fit and all of us agreed to that when we signed up to be this website's users. This is pure common sense and objective reality.
  7. I do not take sides in this conflict and my own opinion how this site should handle copyright is not contained in following post. I hope that following thoughts however will cool down some heads from both sides and direct their minds in more constructive way of thinking. There are two things that people should remember: Firstly, Nexus is a private site, where rules are established by the owner. None, but the owner is entitled to keep or change the rules as they see fit. Secondly, following rules is an agreement made between site owner and site user (and here both mod authors and mod consumers are users, neither has any special status in this regard) that is perquisite to use this privately owned space. Rules follow laws, but might contain further restrictions, for example law might grant everyone freedom of speech, but I as a house owner will prohibit anyone from criticizing a political ideology X at my house, if I consider it necessary. Thirdly, there is change. Time goes by and everything changes - society, world, landscape behind the window. Laws, rules and terms of service of a website is no exception. I believe most of you has at least once received a demand from Apple, Microsoft, Google or any other service provider to agree to their change of EULA or cease using the product immediately. To sum up, since this website is a private space, it's owner has full authority over it's rules. Terms of service can be changed and option to disagree with these rules and opt out has been provided in form of declining the new EULA and leaving. Site owner can have a partial or full relinquishing of copyright as part of EULA and authors have their lawful right to decline/not accept new EULA and not use this website anymore if they so decide. Anything beyond that are but opinions and hurt feelings.
  8. Never understood why people like Serana. She's all just sass, angst and complaints. And for some reason in mind of game devs troubled backstory equals good/interesting character. No, sorry, it's not. Tired of having to be the psychotherapist in every party in every RPG.
  9. Greetings, I myself and to my best knowledge the community in general could use a resource of heads (both male and female versions) with human ears seamlessly removed. I have seen many mods such as attempts at bringing Ohmes-Raht race to Skyrim which all were just reusing standard Skyrim heads and thus resulted in having both, animal ears and human ears, which is not good. If someone took upon themselves to create such resource, it would have served a lot of people, who would want to try creating more beast races or characters.
  10. Well, found a way to go about it with function Thou suggested: made quest to have 2 stages - stage 0 executes script: if player character's name is "XXXX" start stage 20, if not stage 25 and stages have different dialogue.
  11. I see. Wish there was any better way to make things check if player character is this particular player character, or just random player character. My goal is to make it possible for NPC to "recognize" a player character as specific character and I was thinking, the name would be the best way doable (since there is no way to take into account player character's appearance or anything). Another way to do it, I guess, would be to make a pop-up menu appear asking "Are you this person?" or something like that, store it to variable and use on condition, but I would want to avoid that, because it would not be subtle enough. My goal was to use player character's name as a "password" of sorts, so that if player character would bear a specific name, NPC would recognize him and dialogue would be different than usual.
  12. Took a look at it, it seems it is only usable when writing scripts, but can't add a condition to dialogue option in conversation with NPC. Does anyone have any idea how to do that (I mean block off or enable a conversation branch based on whether player character has a particular name or not)?
  13. Is it possible to use player name as condition? For example "if player character's name is "XXXXX" then dialogue option is available". If yes, then how?
  14. Attempting to make an option to change NPC outfit through dialogue. It should be something like: Player: "I need you to adjust equipment loadout." NPC: "Which loadout should I use?" Player: "Loadout A" / "Loadout B" / "Loadout C" As far as I can tell, a scripts based on something like actor.setoutfit() function should be attached to answers like "Loadout C" and so on. Problem is, that I don't really know how to write such script to make it refer to NPC, with which the conversation is being held. Can anyone here help?
  15. Attempting to make an option to change NPC outfit through dialogue. It should be something like: Player: "I need you to adjust equipment loadout." NPC: "Which loadout should I use?" Player: "Loadout A" / "Loadout B" / "Loadout C" And I want to attach script to player's choice that would change outfit. I am rather new to papyrus and bad at programming in general and there are no good tutorials or examples on .SetOutfit() function or specifically how to apply it through dialogue (instead of by casting a spell or OnLoad or anything else that won't help my cause), therefore I need some assistance with making a script that would do it. So far I took a look at blades recruitment script as an example, but it is not attached to dialogue topic or response. Thus far I was trying to do it as follows: ScriptName OutfitAScript extends Quest Outfit Property OutfitA Auto ReferenceAlias Property MyNPCQuestAlias Auto Function EquipOutfitA (Actor MyNPCQuestAlias) MyNPCQuestAlias.SetOutfit(OutfitA) EndFunction But I have doubts if I am doing it correctly. What should I add or remove and is it correct way at all? Am I defining outfit and NPC correctly? Is using quest alias for desired NPC the right way to get this script apply to him/her, or should I do something else? Could anyone give me an example, how it should be done?
  16. Got the same error. Would want to know if anyone has got an answer.
  17. The bigger the horns, the more evil daemon.
  18. I would recommend try following: Create a perk, that would have In perk entry: [ModSpellMagnitude Multiply by 1 + *SkillLevelofDesiredSkill* * 0.20] and condition [spell SpellHasKeyword = /*desired spell school keyword*/] In theory, this should work in the way, thou desirest and 1 + skilllevel * 0.20 is general formula, by which damage scales in case with weapons, so it should be balanced too. Thou may tweak multiplier of course according to thy needs. I fear, that base effect of how much skill lvl affects dmg/spell magnitude by the game is hardcoded as it is dependent on actor values, which seem to be used by some non-tweakable code, that contains damage calculation formulas.
  19. Its everyone finding their own way really, ranging from using special tools to just dropping result of day's work onto one common google drive and and whoever is the project's leader merges it to main mod. There is no single correct answer. And yes, Bethesda's own tools should be shipped with label "work over with file before use" on them.
  20. So far what I did: Created perk XX_UnarmedPerk_XX. In perk entries: Ability [XX_UnarmedAbility_XX] and [ModSpellMagnitude Multiply by 1 + Onehanded * 0.20] and condition [spell GetIs XX_UnarmedAbility_XX = 1] Created ability [XX_UnarmedAbility_XX], which is basically a copy of [PerkKhajitClaw] abilityWhat do you think of this?
  21. Want to recreate one follower NPC, I created before, but lost in recent system issues on my PC. The NPC was an unarmed fighter, which I previously did through associating mod with SkyRe and adding perks for unarmed combat to that character. Now I wanted to use Perkus Maximus, but it has no unarmed combat in any form. But I decided not to give up and find a "standalone" solution. So now, I was thinking to make my own standalone way to achieve this. My goals are as follows: 1) Unarmed should benefit from NPC's one handed skill (NOT sneak, NOT light armour) 2) Unarmed should NOT use dummy weapons 3)* Need way to affect unarmed attack speed too So far the idea would be to make a version of khajiit's claw ability, that instead of constant magnitude 12 would have variable magnitude, that would be calculated taking into consideration one handed skill of a character, but as I am rather inexperienced with abilities and magic, I can not find the correct way to solving this. Any advices or workarounds would be very appreciated. If someone knows better way, I would also be greatful.
  22. Well, will try to look at examples and reverse-engineer them. But meanwhile, could anyone explain to me, how exactly "Magical Effect" category works. I have read the description of parameters on construction kit website, what I would like to know is, how exactly they could be used. If anyone could give me examples with description what is set up in that particular way and why, I would be greatful.
  23. Task 1. Want to create an enchantment, that would reflect [%] of spell damage of certain type (lightning for example) back to caster. Task 2. Want to create enchantment, that would reflect certain spell type (fear for example) entirely at caster However, I am struggling at understanding, how spells in Skyrim work. reading theory on creationkit com website and attempts to reverse-engineer that spell reflection ward and spellbreaker mod yielded me nought, so I come here for assistance. First of all, could this be done without scripting at all? Secondly, is magic effect with [Reflect Damage] or [Reflect Arrows] as [Associated item 1] applicable to achieve this. If yes, then I do not understand how exactly can I make them differentiate the exact damage type (lightning for example).
