  1. Same here. Shout usage before Thuumic: very situational. After Thuumic: Cooldown bar permanently blue.
  2. Do the same I did to find my crash: try renaming folders in skyrim/data (specifically graphics and sound-related) to see if playing without the contents of one of them eliminates the crash. If this works, you can continue deeper and pinpoint the problem. If not, try a different character to check for save corruption. Those should give you something to work with, if nothing else.
  3. There is this one I'm currently using: Weapon Swap (Requires Script Dragon) With it, you can have your two weapons ready to go in 3 keystrokes, as quick as you can tap them with no menus required. Works pretty smoothly once you learn the pattern.
  4. Found this in SMIM version history (Feb 27): And behold, updating SMIM fixes the crash completely so removing parts of it is unnecessary. I have to check for updates more often... especially in this case since I installed SMIM the exact day this fix was released, just a bit too early. Ouch.
  5. Hey people, I've got a crash just like this around Nightgate Inn, and after trying a load of solutions, I managed to narrow it down a bit: in my case, renaming "meshes" folder eliminated the crash, so it seems there's a corrupted mesh or something of the sort that's giving me trouble. Going to try to find which one. E: Got it. It's the architecture/farmhouse meshes added by Static Mesh Improvement Mod. Time for a re-install...
  6. With this kind of service, I'm considering joining the ranks of supporters as well. The Nexus sites really have no equal, in any game community!
  7. My first character was a reflection of me moral-wise, but my subsequent characters have tended to become progressively more evil... don't know why.
  8. I'm using Destructible Mini-nuke, so whenever I see one I must watch my shooting or else be incinerated. Not particularly creepy, but quite a shocking sensation: I was wandering around randomly somewhere in the southwest when I see one of those churches where super mutants like to dwell in. With my powerful perception I can see that they have a prisoner, so I mount a rescue mission. I sneak right next to the church wall, getting ready to throw a grenade through the window and moving in right after it goes off. I throw the grenade and the mutants yell in surprise. Right before I take a turn inside ther church, my screen turn white, shakes, and the super mutants fly out of the building right in front of me. Nearly had a heart attack! The building is also now bathed with radiation. I guess they must have had a mini-nuke inside the church, which went off with the grenade. Surprisingly, their captive survived, even though the she practically swallowed the explosion. Also, having a chain explosion of about 20 cars for no clear reason while exploring DC. I guess someone was tired of living. And looking into the distance at night only too see a few dozen night ghouls running towards you. Ugh.
  9. I guess Bethesda didn't bother to give him proper ragdoll physics since he's all but indestructible without the console. Or wabbajack.... I have to say the Balrog in Midas Magic took an agonisingly long time to kill. Frost damage works well, but since my only source of frost at the time was an enchanted dagger, I ended up scratching his hoofs for two dozen minutes or so. I was immune to fire and 85% armoured, so the Balrog must have felt the same.
  10. You are missing: Astral Spiral: should be easy to find, check all the obvious portals especially in Spire, that one has quite a few. Astral Temple: The toughest. Go to Mist through the portal that leads you to a small underwater island. Look around, eventually you should see a giant (benign) fish, which constantly swims between that island and another containing a portal to Temple. If you can't find the fish, check the map for the portal's marker and try to find it by swimming up and down on it. When you complete the astral quest you'll get a powerful spell and the Great astral gate in Midas' basement can be used.
  11. The Masque of Clavicus Vile. Either that or Saviour's Hide. Most of the others have either comedy value, play a part in Midas Magic or are just plain useful, but those two...
  12. ...Are you suggesting to use the Prime Morpholith as a paper weight? It's part in getting the necessary resources for the more powerful Midas spells is enormous (post- or pre-MQ). Supposing you knows what to do with it, of course.
  13. I'm not sure about a single kill, but I do have an amusing mass murder: Everyone knows the danger of touching a sigil stone tower beam, right? The way the beam works is if you are within "range", the beam will cast a target-spell on the character that is the equivalent off a console kill-command. However, it's possible to (briefly) dodge the spell and have the beam start spamming more kill spells if the character is still touching the beam. I was once raiding a gate and had made my way to the to the top with the sigil stone. The whole sanguis was flooded with dremora (close to 20 I believe), and I started running around the base floor in evasion. With a little help from Midas Magic, I managed to push one of my assailants into the sigil beam. Somehow his body ended flying up and down the beam, which was now spamming kill spells everywhere to eliminate the physics-bugged NPC... a massacre ensued as the runaway spells killed about a dozen "innocent" dremora. Gotta love those weird design decisions...
  14. I like the mountain location of Boethia's shrine. The way the light hits the mountainside there at sunset is pleasant. And you have Deadra worshippers, those jolly fellows, as company!
  15. Oh yes, I remember picking his hoofs for half an hour with a frost dagger myself. I was pretty well (magically) armoured, so he didn't do much damage. On the other hand, neither did I. His weapon charge died before mine did ... good times.
