  1. RainbowJamz - Hello! Have you taken care of Archive invalidation? Affects all mods that add new textures. Either download & activate: ArchiveInvalidation Invalidated http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=944 Or, if you use FOMM click on Toggle Invalidation on the right. Hope this helps! 2. Selohos - Hello! The fact you have a quad core, the freezing mainly in interior cells & the randomness are classic symptoms of the Fallout 3 multi core bug. Fallout 3 has trouble with multi core computers, mainly with ones that have more than two cores & use hyperthreading. You can fix that by editing your .ini, the one you want to change is: For XP: My Documents\My Games\Fallout3\ For Win7: Documents\My Games\Fallout3 & change this line: bUseThreadedAI=0 to: bUseThreadedAI=1 & insert this line under it: iNumHWThreads=2 Save & close your ini. As far as your load order goes, you're missing the Mart's Mutant Mod - FWE Master Releases.esp from FOIP. Untick & remove Mart's Mutant Mod - Master Menu Module.esp as it should be replaced by Mart's Mutant Mod - FWE Master Releases.esp. That portion of your load order should end up like this: Mart's Mutant Mod.esp Mart's Mutant Mod - DLC Anchorage.esp Mart's Mutant Mod - DLC The Pitt.esp Mart's Mutant Mod - DLC Broken Steel.esp Mart's Mutant Mod - DLC Point Lookout.esp Mart's Mutant Mod - DLC Zeta.esp Mart's Mutant Mod - FWE Master Releases.esp Mart's Mutant Mod - FWE Master Release + DLCs.esp Leave your Mart's Mutant Mod.esm alone, it's fine where it is. Hope this Helps! Prensa
  3. panchaiy - Hello! It could be the Fallout 3 multi core bug. Fallout 3 has trouble with multi core computers, mainly with ones that have more than two cores & use hyperthreading. You say you've used the ini fix? Are you changing the right .ini, the one you want to change is: For Win7: Documents\My Games\Fallout3 & change this line: bUseThreadedAI=0 to: bUseThreadedAI=1 & insert this line under it: iNumHWThreads=2 Save & close your ini. Do you have ffdShow installed? It's used by many video & audio programs. If you do, go to your Start menu & find the ffdShow folder. Within that open the Audio decoder configuration, in that select the DirectShow Control. On the right you'll see "Don't use ffdShow", tick the box next to it. Now click on the Edit button beside it, another window will open. In the new window, if Fallout3.exe is not listed, click on add & navigate to where you've got Fallout installed & select the Fallout3.exe. Close all ffdShow by clicking on the OK. Do the same for Video decoder configuration in the ffdShow folder. Hope this Helps! Prensa
  4. thefakegame - Hello! The load order has to be right with that combination of mods & Foip patches, Fallout 3 Wanderers Edition site has an example of how all of those mods you mention should be arranged at the bottom of this page: http://sites.google.com/site/fo3wanderersedition/installation If you still have trouble, posting your load order might help someone to see if there's something wrong there. To get your load order list open FOMM & go to "Load Order" then select copy to clipboard. You can then paste it into a message here. Hope this helps! Prensa
  5. override367 - Hello! Any mods installed, if so, try the game with no mods. If it works without mods you'll know its one of them. In that case, turn the mods back on one at a time checking in between to see if the problem returns. That way you can isolate the culprit. What operating system are you on? If it's Vista or Win7 then go to your Fallout 3 - Data folder & look at the files/folders in there. If any of them have little padlocks on them, drag them out onto the desktop & the place them back in EXACTLY where they came from. This should remove the padlock symbol & allow them to work properly. Does the game freeze or crash straight to desktop? If it freezes & you have more than 1 core it could be the Fallout 3 multi core bug. Hope this Helps! Prensa
  6. Contrax2009 - Hello! Have you installed any mods recently? Specifically anything that changes the default animations? If you did, try unticking it & see if your animations return to normal. Check your: Fallout 3\Data\Meshes\Characters\_male If there are any .kf files in there then you've got extra or replacement animations installed. That's fine, lots of mods add animations but it's possible you've either missed out something or one of the mods is interfering. Hope this helps! Prensa
  7. BigPhil95 - Hello! "After messing around with AC3Filter Config, I have fixed the majority of the stuttering. " Great! Now you can enjoy the classic tunes! "I get stuttering towards the end of loading screens and whenever it is loading new meshes and NPCs while exploring. " That can happen, I only ever get slight stuttering sometimes if I fast travel (obiously loading new stuff can briefly interfere with the radio). Now your radio is working & if you haven't already, you might want to expand your track list with this excellent mod: GNR -- More Where That Came From http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=1418 Prensa
  8. tacticman - Hello! Glad it helped! :) Prensa
  9. BlackRampage - Hello! "I've had this myself too. There's only been 1 occasion where he decided to continue his dialogue and that was after I more or less pushed him into place." Really? Never happened to me! :) Now Ashur in the Pitt & his "Don't let me keep you"..... very choosey about working! Sometimes I sail through that but occasionally he sticks. Prensa
  10. LordGrievous - Hello! "it doesn't let me expand anything from 000003c Wasteland" Can you see a + next to the 000003c under Worldspace? If it's because the information is at the bottom of the FO3Edit window, use the slider on the right between the two windows to scroll the information up. If you still can't get to it, copy & paste this into the FormID window at the top of FO3Edit: 0001f1f3 & press Enter/Return. That should take you direct to the setting. Just follow the instructions from: "Once again it's the Unofficial Fallout 3 Patch - Broken Steel.esp column we want to modify. " Hope this helps! Prensa
  11. slpnot187 - Hello! I've never had that happen. From what I can gather, it seems to be certain mods that make changes to Rothchild that can cause this. Untick all your mods & see if it works fine without them, if it does you'll know it's caused by one of them. Turn them back on, one at a time checking in between to see if Rothchild still works. That way you'll be able to track down the culprit. You could try this: Brokensteel Rothchild Map Dialogue Fix http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=6470 But it's best to track down the root cause as I advised above. Hope this helps! 12. tacticman - Hello! Did you use the V191_BETA_COMPLETE version of Apocalypse Armory? If you are, you MUST have the new .esm & .esp from V193_UPDATE. If you need to check which version you're using, open up FOMM & left click on Apocalypse Armory.esm & make sure it says 1.93 Beta down at the bottom of FOMM. Do the same for Apocalypse Armory.esp, if either say 1.9, 1.91 or anything other than 1.93 Beta you've got the old files in still. In that case drop the Apocalypse Armory.esm & Apocalypse Armory.esp from V193_UPDATE into your data folder, saying yes to overwrites. You can get V193_UPDATE in the file section here: http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=14773 Note that only the Apocalypse Armory.esm & Apocalypse Armory.esp will say 1.93 Beta. The Apocalypse Armory patches will still say 1.9, that's perfectly normal. Hope this helps! Prensa
  13. LordGrievous - Hello! The Unofficial Fallout 3 Patch - Broken Steel.esp has a bug that causes CTDs when saves & autosaves are made around Rivet City, particularly on that little area with seating across from the Jefferson Memorial. I posted a simple fix using FO3Edit for it in the Discussion section of the Unofficial Fallout 3 Patch: http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=3808 Look for: Unofficial Fallout 3 Patch - Broken Steel.esp Rivet City area CTD fix Hope this helps! 14. Blackguard666 - Hello! You say it worked fine before? I assume you've got Fallout - Voices.bsa & Fallout - Sound.bsa in your Fallout 3\Data folder? Have you installed any Audio/Video playes, DVD burners or the like just recently? If you have, that could explain the sudden sound disappearance. Thos types of programs install codecs & it's possible one is messing with your sounds. Get installedcodec: http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/installed_codec.html Direct: http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/installedcodec.zip Once you've got that, run it, click on "Installed/Modified Time", scroll to the bottom & see if any codecs have been installed around the time you started having trouble. If there are any from around that time you can right click on them & select "Disable selected items", close the program & see if your sound is back to normal. To turn codecs that you've turned off back on, do exactly the same but click on "Enable selected items". Hope this helps! Prensa
  15. newn - Hello! In FOMM, is your load order: Fallout3.esm Anchorage.esm ThePitt.esm BrokenSteel.esm PointLookout.esm Zeta.esm The really important thing is that Fallout3.esm loads first. Are you using Games for Windows Live? I don't but still had trouble with the DLCs until I used FOMM's G4WL workaround. If you don't use G4WL: Open FOMM, go to - Tools - Install Tweaker & tick "Use fake xlive.dll". If you do use G4WL try updating it from Microsoft. Hope this helps! Prensa
  16. Starlyte - Hello! I've never used Fallout 3 in window mode but a couple of things you could try are: Go to your taskbar, right click on it, select Properties. In the window that comes up tick Auto-Hide the Taskbar. This should make the Taskbar move off the screen when not in use so hopefully you can't accidentally select it. Or, if that does not help, you can turn off the feature you referred to by going to the same Properties window & unticking "Use Aero Peek to preview the desktop". Hope this helps! Prensa
  17. Heluris - Hello! You need to get rid of Mart's Mutant Mod - Master Menu Module.esp, the Mart's Mutant Mod - FWE Master Release.esp replaces it. Where you've got it now, it'll be overriding the Mart's Mutant Mod - FWE Master Release.esp Untick & delete Mart's Mutant Mod - Master Menu Module.esp. There's an example load order here: https://sites.google.com/site/fo3wanderersedition/installation Remember to remake your Merged Patch afterwards. Hope this helps! Prensa
  18. kimmy1235 - Hello! The "black panty" look happens if vanilla textures are being used on the Type3 mesh. If you used anything in the STYLES for V2 TEXTURE folder you must rename the file you chose to upperbodyfemale. For example upperbodyfemaleNOTRIM change to upperbodyfemale & place it into the: Fallout 3 - Data - textures - characters - female Otherwise you would end up with an upperbodyfemaleNOTRIM.dds that would be ignored by the game & it will still use the vanilla texture resulting in the dreaded "black panty" look. :) I posted a step by step guide for installing with FOMM in the Type 3 Discussion section (next to the Comments) http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=4280 Look for: "Here's how to make a Type 3 FOMM pack" Hope this helps! 19. R216 - Hello! "Ok I solved the Problem. The culprit was a codec called Vodei/Vodei MP. God knows where that one came from. Anyways, thanks a lot for the help. Gosh I'm so happy" Great! :) Thanks for coming back & reporting the cause, it mght help others. Sounds like you already have a program to deal with codecs but just in case, this is really good: InstalledCodec http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/installed_codec.html Nice & simple program that can be used to disable/enable any codec on your computer. It can also sort them by name, type & date. The date is particularly useful as if your sounds are suddenly messed up you can quickly work out wich new codec is the cause. It does not even have to be installed, just works as a stand alone. Glad you got to the bottom of it! Prensa
  20. BigPhil95 - Hello! Have you got AC3Filter installed? A lot of video, audio, burners, etc. use it. If you have got AC3Filter, go to your Start Menu - All Programs & find it's folder. Run AC3Filter Config in the Config window that comes up got to System. In System look for "Default Audio renderer". That has two settings, Use "Direct Sound by default" & "Use Wave Out by default". With my Creative card & Alchemy I have to use Direct Sound by default or else I get radio stutter. If I don't use Alchemy I have to use "Use Wave Out by default". Basically whichever one you see in use when you check it, change to the other setting & see if it fixes your problem. In the same System window is a "Filter Merit" heading with two settings, "Prefer AC3Filter" & Prefer other decoder". Again, changing this can help. Note, to change that particular setting on Win7 you have to first right click on AC3Filter Config & "Run as administrator" to call it up or else it won't allow it to be changed. Hope this helps! 21. GreatDestroyer - Hello! "Should I be loading the Unofficial Patch last? Should I have the mods mirror the Patch instead of the original file? Does this mean anything?" Leave the Unofficial Patch where you have it in that load order you listed, DO NOT load it last! Better for other mods to overwrite something in it than vice versa. Whatever loads last will win out. The red conflicts are generally not something to worry about, unless you're experiencing an issue with the item/area in red. Whenever a mod alters something in the original Fallout3.esm it will show red, just means the red marked item has been superseded by another mod. Some people have trouble with Autosaves, do your crashes only occur on Fast travel & entering/exiting buildings? If so, turn off Autosave on travel in Fallout's menu & see what happens. If that fixes the issue, use CASM to replace it. Another thing to try, I mentioned it in my last post, the sometimes games get sensitve to rearranged load orders. Make a completely clean save like I described, wait four days in a safe place, save & exit, all mods off, load, save & exit, all mods back on. The only problem with that is you will loose any mod collected items. Are you using Vista or Win7? If so, got to your Fallout 3 - Data folder & have a look at the Folders & files in there. Do any of them have little padlocks on them? If they do, move them out onto your desktop & then back again EXACTLY where they came from. That should remove the padlocks & allow the filed to work properly. Also if your on Vista or Win7, is there a "Compatibility files" heading above the folder contents & below the address bar in either your Fallout 3 folder or Fallout 3 - Data folder? If there is, click on the words "Compatibility files" & tell me what is there. Hope this helps! Prensa
  22. R216 - Hello! At least we know it's not mod casused if it happens with just Fallout 3 & the DLCs. Did you ever use any .ini tweaks? Because this sounds a bit like a loading from hard drive issue. When you reinstalled, did you delete your old .ini & let Fallout recreate it from scratch? Because they can be left behind after uninstalls. If not, delete the old .ini & Fallout will recreate it & you can apply just the multi core fix after. Are you forcing Anti aliasing via your graphics card control center? If so turn that off & use the AA through Fallout's settings. Are you using Triple Buffering (in your graphics control center)? If so turn it off. Have you done the obvious hard drive things like defrag & "Check for errors"? I know it's basic but Fallout 3 is big & if it's fragmented that can slow it down. One bad sector where it's installed can slso cause trouble, so an error check is worth a shot (can't hurt). In case you don't know, right click on the drive you have Fallout 3 installed on, select - Properties - Tools & under Error checking click on Check Now. In the box that comes up, click on Scan for & attempt recovery of bad sectors. This process can take some time depending on the size of your drive so do it when you have plenty of time to leave your computer. Check to make sure you have nothing major running when you play Fallout 3, it's a big program & likes it's space. Routine Virus scans during it can cause trouble too. You say you use stutter remover, you are running FOSE to launch Fallout 3 right? Because without FOSE, Stutter remover won't work. Have you tried this: Fake Fullscreen Mode Windowed - Alt Tab Fix http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=16001 Sorry if I covered a few basic things but I find it's best when trying to track things like this to dot the i's & cross the t's! Hope this helps! Prensa
  23. R216 - Hello! Freezing but then coming back? No, that does seem different to the multi core bug. Multi core bug freezing normally stays locked & has to be ended by task manager if it does not CTD. Do you have ffdShow installed? A lot of programs use it (like video players, editors, burners etc). It can cause issues with Fallout 3. All you need to do with ffdShow is add Fallout 3 to it's exceptions list. Go to the Start menu - All programs & locate ffdShow folder. Within that open "ffdShow Audio decoder configuration" & a window will open. Within that left click on Directshow control. Tick the box "Don't use ffdshow in:" then click on the Edit box to it's right. In the window that comes up, if Fallout3.exe is not listed, click on the Add button & navigate to the folder where your Fallout3.exe is located & select it. Click OK at the bottom. Click Apply on the main ffdShow just to be sure then Ok to close that. Repeat the above for "ffdShow Video decoder configuration" that can be found in that same place. Does this freezing happen with all your mods turned off? If it works fine with just Fallout 3 then you will know it is a mod issue. If that's the case, turn your mods back on one at a time checking between in game to see if the issue returns. As soon as the problem rears it's head again you'll have your culprit. Hope this helps! Prensa
  24. michaelrm1256 - Hello! Glad you got it sorted! The DLCs are rather good fun, Point Lookout's my favourite. :) Fallout Mod Manager is indeed a gem & the creator of it, Timeslip, should be much praised for an exemplary tool that has saved many a mod user from pulling their hair out. Prensa
  25. nemesis108 - Hello! Are you able to play Fallout 3 & then it CTDs or can you not even get past the menu? Does the game freeze mainly in small interiors, locking up & then CTDing? Fallout 3 has trouble with multi core computers, mainly with ones that have more than two cores & use hyperthreading. You say you've applied the fix, are you sure you changed the correct .ini? You need to edit the right Fallout 3 .ini file, NOT the Fallout_default.ini in your Bethesda Softworks\Fallout 3 folder. The one you want to change is: For XP: My Documents\My Games\Fallout3\ For Vista & Win7: Documents\My Games\Fallout3 The file you want will be called: FALLOUT.ini Open the .ini with Notepad & change this line: bUseThreadedAI=0 to: bUseThreadedAI=1 & insert this line under it: iNumHWThreads=2 Save & close your ini. Hope this helps! Prensa
