I'm working on a Thieve's Guild armor re-texture, and I decided I dislike the arm armor and the pauldrons. I tried to alpha them away, but that did not work. I downloaded Nifscope, but it does not want to open the armor .nif, or any I've tried. Any suggestions? I've tried the sleeved and sleeveless versions of the armor, if it matters any. I would like to remove the plates from both.

Great ideas. About the NPC's, I was thinking along the same lines as Aluminimfoil. I don't see any need, or want, for every NPC to be "somebody". They already talk to much and do too little as it is.

I married her. After doing her quest and some, or all DB quests, not positive there. However, if you do marry her, every time you go near her, she will say that same line. Thank you for resolving my... problem. It gets very annoying, and it got her werewolfed to death.

I seem to only have two issues running Skyrim on Ultra; AA and Shadows. For some reason, setting the AA in-game lags me, I tell my card to do it, it's fine. Can I do similar for shadows? I have a GTX 560 TI. My sister runs Skyrim on a laptop, on Ultra, with what she says has the laptop-version of my GPU. Is there something I can enable, or turn up, in my Nvidia control panel to help shadows? Anything I can edit in the .ini? Any tips would be appreciated, the visual difference between High and Ultra seems to be significant when it comes to shadows.

SILENCE! What sounds/voices would you like gone?

Is it possible to make a NPC just not say certain things? I married Muiri and ended up murdering her due to severe annoyance. Everytime I walked past, she'd say, "Thank you for helping me with my... problem." I would have rather not werewolfed my wife and housecarl to death, but I couldn't take it! Insanity! -
In Daggerfall, you could have a trial before you were sentanced. I always liked that, especially lying my way out of it.

Should i join the imperial legion or stormcloaks?
uruku7 replied to TheMysteriousTraveler's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
To me, the Imperials have always been bad news. However, the Stormcloaks, or at least Ulfric, don't seem any better. Were the tables turned, in the beginning, you'd still be walking to the block. This is Tamriel, everyone's "the bad guy". I figured, Nords should rule Nords(even though they stole it), so I went Stormcloak. Seemed better than pompous, arrogant, lazy bastard Imperials, but not by much. -
I don't know about the Dwemer, if there was anything said about their coming back, I missed it. I hope not though, the thing I like most about them is their mystery.

The Psijic monk hinted at some things, can't remember offhand, but it seemed like I was going to be doing a whole lot more than killing the one guy I knew I was going to have to kill soon as I met him. He made it seem like I was going to go somewhere, Akavir? Somewhere stranger maybe, can't remember where... but it seems I was being set up for something beyond the magic ball. Thalmor in general, seem to have their hands in a few pies, and not much ever happens with them. I can of course only guess, but it seems either of these could be fleshed out in DLC, maybe together. Have any of you found anything else that never seems to never be resolved or further discussed, and you think may end up in DLC?

Great ideas about the college. I'll be sure to keep all of that in mind. Though, I wouldn't be populating the already tiny Winterhold Campus. I'd make something new, with room for people to do those things.

Seems there are plenty female Dragonborn? It seems to me there are plenty of important women throughout Tamriel's history, Dragonborn or not.

That's how I'm seeing it!

Trouble replacing one vanilla mesh for another
uruku7 replied to plainswalker18's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
You'll want to copy the Daedric helm .nif and .DDS, rename them appropriately, create the right folders and subfolders in the Data folder, paste the files in and you should be done. If you've done that correctly and still have trouble, I'm not sure what to do. -
"What exactly is the point of my involvement?" I felt similar. I mean, come on, it is just Dragons. Tamriel has seen worse.

I love Skyrim, I do, but if you can't see how it is dumbed down, in so many ways, well... you're just not going to. In Skyrim, I can kill a Alduin (a freaking WORLD-ENDING DRAGON) and feel like it really isn't a big deal. Few NPC's seem to care anyway. In Morrowind, just stepping through the Ghost Gate was insane. Like, really? You want me to go there? THERE? The atmosphere created by the story and NPC's was huge in Morrowind. It just isn't here in Skyrim. Not for me, anyway. An Ascended Sleeper could make me jump. Dragons, while of course they are fun to fight, do not ever, instill any fear, not even a little. Dungeons, Arena through Morrowind, were foreboding. In Skyrim, they welcome you. On Magic; Wow. Severely lacking, as many of you have said. I can only think they did this to make shouts seem... cooler?. I'm pretty sure anyone's Morrowind mage could rip through the Dragonborn like he was Kleenex, Nerevarine or not.

If you think there's more here than Morrowind, play Morrowind again. I too do not care about levels, stats, etc, but the stories here (main, guilds) are lacking in depth. They're short. "A Dance in Fire" has more content. From beginning to end, I felt far more immersed in Morrowind. "Games have become very popular and people like me...a noob, sort of, in my own way...come on the scene and say, "whoa, this is way too hard or complicated" I get discouraged and find an easier game to play because this game frustrates me. I'm not the only one but a lot of noobs are doing the same. " ~Pineapplerum Many people are like that, and that is fine, for them, but this is one of the things that is poison for something like Elder Scrolls. If Daggerfall were remade with Skyrim's graphics, even it's leveling system, people like Pineapplerum would not touch it, no matter how shiny it is. There was something intimidating about Arena, Daggerfall, Morrowind, that I, and maybe the elitists miss. There are plenty of games out there for the casual gamer. I will say Skyrim is head-and-shoulders above other current games, but for me that isn't saying much, at all. Let the casual gamers play COD, God of War and the like. As far as I'm concerned, TES is not for the casual, and NEVER should be.

As usual, for me, the world seems grossly underpopulated, maybe due to the very, very few houses in the very few towns. I have never used a TES construction kit, but once it's released, I might try and make a truly big city with a high population. Lore-wise, does anyone know of a huge city that exists in Skyrim? If not, I may use Hammerfell, seeing as some of it seems to be there. What I envision is probably the same as anyone when they think "big city". Maybe 5-15 people on one street at any given time, hundreds of places for NPC's to live(or atleast something that looks as such), crime, punishment, danger, leisure, arts & entertainment, politics, etc... Something like what you thought the Imperial City would look like before Oblivion was released (if you're anything like me). I realize this could be a huge undertaking, but that's half the fun. I doubt I'm the only one planning similar, but I still want to do this. Also maybe a "dungeon" that could take days to get through. Any ideas as to where this should be, or what "existing" city(not already in-game) this could be? I'd prefer to keep it in Skyrim, but Hammerfell or High Rock would be great too. Any suggestions or comments are welcome.

Nordic based culture without spears? A land filled with dragons, and, again, no spears? Ridiculous! Polearms in general would be a wonderful addition.

You've got me laughing. I've never heard this! I want to, though!

How do you feel about the Oblivion PC and Sheogorath
uruku7 replied to marharth's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
What's the time difference, is Skyrim more or less than 200 years after Oblivion? He's always my favorite Daedra. There could still be more quests involving him. Could be related to Gambolpuddy, Fork of Horripilation, Staff of Sheogorath, other artifacts of his we don't know about. -
It seems there is never busy work in the beginning. You're in, a few days later, you're their leader even tho you just met, and after that, you get to do the busywork lackey bs. This has to be the easiest, least thought-out, fastest Elder Scrolls ever. I still love it tho. For me, the worst Elder Scrolls is better than the best whatever else:) Hooray for modding.

I'm assuming that, after becoming Thieves guild boss, this happens. Thieves set out and steal things. Seems buggy tho, all they do is run away from guards and get stuck. Seems it's all the same NPC, too, yet he never says anything. He just runs around begging for mercy, and a few days later I'll see his clone, doing the same. Is this just a bug, or part of a quest I managed to skip over and leave permanently unresolved? Posted in spoilers just in case.

Yeah, I like the vignette style from daggerfall.

It seems to me, the road to "Guild" Boss is too short. Almost immediately, you're always involved in some big, world-changing stuff. I'm not suggesting bring back ingredient gathering, but maybe have to sit through a few classes? Read one of the wonderful books in the game and have to take a test? (for the College, anyway) Once you're The Man in your guild, you get the small kind of quests that maybe you should be doing when you're the new guy. In the end, it would be better to send out your lackeys to do these small quests, and maybe only take on the bigger ones yourself, or help out. I know these little quests are there in the end to make sure you still have something to do, and that's nice, and shouldn't completely change, but for me, once you're not building towards anything anymore, a little flavor is lost. I think a longer journey to the top would help.

It's a small thing, but one of my favorite parts of Elder Scrolls were the dreams. If someone could make this, like it was in Daggerfall, audio and pictures, that would be awesome. I don't think they've done it like that since Daggerfall. I do not like how in Skyrim, it seems that you're instant vampire or wolf.
