My FPS dropped a lot in first person mode, did a full reinstall of the game with 1.6 patch, can't use ENB at all now, but even without FFXA post process injector my fps is still terrible in first person. FOV is also turned down from 80 to 70. The character is a clean one created on the fresh 1.6 install as well. On ATI 4770. Problem exists with or without mods. I only have 512mb vram so I dont use any texture enhancement mods anyway. Ran just fine last patch with enb and ffxa.

In combat regen = 33% of normal regen. There are mods that up it, balanced magic has options for 40-75%.

Level scaling - should I read Oghma Infinium?
Malakai88 replied to shwick2's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
The game is already stupid easy even on expert/master. Powering combat skills early will make it even easier. I waste a lot of points in smithing early on so enemies level up and make it a bit more difficult, and you get cool weapons. -
Is there a sticky somewhere for "must have" mods?
Malakai88 replied to dthompson32's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Default skyrim bodies look terrible, body mod + armor for that body makes the chars look waaaay better. You dont have to be running around naked to get use out of a body mod. -
My vid card is only 512mb, I cant use the texture pack without stuttering. When I get around to it I will extract the esp's so I can get the clothing & armor textures without using the environmental ones that overload my card. With a 1gig card you should be fine.

It does look like your soultraped lol. I have no idea, if you start a new char are they clean? Also you can try blessing yourself at one of the various diety's altars, that clears all active effects and diseases and such.

I'm in the US too. Just put together a good group of friends who like stuff you do and all is good. For me, games metal and anime/manga all go together. BTW I use hroki as a companion since for some reason I cannot switch warrior stances back to regular stances. She uses the young voice files, like jordis, which is cool too. Lydia is even toned. I like jp sultry voices the best but they dont have some follower voice overs so they come up as even toned. Lachdonin, didnt mean anything personal. I totally respect tastes that differ from mine. Most of my friends live for rap and hip hop, which I cannot stand. I do strongly disagree with your reasons for people liking the stuff though, they are all pretty cliche/misinformed. For me: I love the language (if you watch anime with english voice overs your missing out majorly, its a beautiful and expressive language, bakemonogatari is a great example of how language can be combined with imagery for an epic experience) I love deep and complex stories that span an entire series vs episodic media we usually have over here. Though thats by no mean all encompassing as some of my fav us shows have great continuous stories. You can do things in animated media you just cannot pull off (well) with real filming, hence the scifi and fantasy being so amazing. Thats also why shounen stuff (fighting like Naruto, Bleach, Fairy Tail) is so popular. You just cant have live action fighting like you can in anime. Skimpy clothes and such have nothing to do with it, well not primarily anyway. And you may notice oriental girls dont look much like anime style females. In fact anime chara's have crazy hair styles and colors, yet asian hair is almost always straight and black. Really none of the shows I cited have little or nothing to do with the things you mention, what's generally known as fanservice. Though again I like that stuff too. Its all art... Keep it civil so threads dont get locked people. We can talk about stuff like this without being rude or confrontational with each other right?

Best Laptop for the Money that will run Skyrim well?
Malakai88 replied to Dk853's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
BTW I like a compact 10" netbook for portable use (broke mine waaaah) or an ipad if you can afford it, paired with a powerful desktop for gaming. My asus 10" netbook almost 2yrs ago tweaked all to hell got 8-10h battery life for normal use and movie watcfhing, a powerful laptop can expect what, 2-3h even just browsing the web, and even less if watching movies? Why have a portable if it needs to be plugged in all the time. -
It depends on my char, I dont do strict roleplay or anything, but I do give the character a personality and tune my game choices to that. My 2h char is imperial, she believes in law and order and a strong state as deterrent to the altmer. Even tho shes a nord she knows the pathetic stormcloaks cannot realistically repel the aldmeri dominion!

Yeah the JP voices are awesome, I've been telling people how to switch them over here for weeks now, its retardedly simple. And the girls voices are so damn cute. No more does lydia sound all condescending :) "goshujin-sama" LOL at people who seem to harbor a hated for anime cuz they saw a series aimed at kids 20+ years ago. You have no idea of the awesomeness of modern anime ;) The absolute craziest/deepest scifi and fantasy stories are found in anime nowadays, nothing we do over here even comes close for the most part. Darker than Black, Steins;Gate; *monogatari series, Guilty Crown, Hellsing OVA, on and on. This isn't kids stuff. I like all kinds of genre's (ecchi comedy++) but dark & violent scifi/fantasy is my favorite. :)

Best Laptop for the Money that will run Skyrim well?
Malakai88 replied to Dk853's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Frankly an extremely graphics intensive game is going to give most any laptop a hard time. Even a big powerful gaming laptop is going to get damn hot. I prefer to play gfx heavy sys taxing games like skyrim on a big desktop with lots of cooling. Even a cheap desktop built with the right budget components can run skyrim flawlessly. My system is an enthusiast budget box (building my pc's since around 2000) from 2yrs ago and it runs skyrim without a hitch, albeit with medium shadows, everything else maxed, at 1680x1050. Vid card cost 99 dollars 2yrs ago. A lappy that will play this well at the same res is going to cost 2000+. Desktop to do it, half that or less, even with a 22-24" monitor. -
I was talking to my wife/companion hroki in a cave, handing her some items to carry, and somehow we triggered a trap where boulders fall from the ceiling while not moving at all. A big rock falls on her head and she yells ahhh! and does that animation that essential followers do where they fall down for awhile. A one hit KO. It was so unexpected like a random pie in the face in a comedy, I couldnt stop laughing.

I think its just the light from the magic in the hall there? Looks fine to me too.

Serious reply for the OP: a) you like anime b) you like jrpg's c) you dont like either but think they look cool/cute Aside from having my chars looking pretty, I like cool fantasy looking armors. if people want to classify them as animeish, thats their choice. Is using a katana anime'ish? Cuz I use masamune on my 2h warrior as its a badass looking katana (real katana = 2h, so its a diakatana in tes lore) with a sheath on your back. Also dragonbone weapons has 1h and 2h katana, and they are also damn cool. I also love the triss armor, eisen platte armor, dynasty armor, and various armors based on tera online. Killerkeo has some fantastic armor meshes too, like shoulderless dragonscale and glass, and his dbarmor with the purple glossy texture (I use his whole pack, with various other mods textures, then other armors as standalone). Love calientes CBBE body, on either lightest weight (or slim when more slim armors come out). I like skinny girls with normal sized/smaller chest (irl too...), either way can be called animeish or not. The end result some people consider animeish, or breaking lore, I just think it looks 100x better than vanilla skyrim. I guess liking smooth light skin and big pretty eyes means you like them anime style. I don't use any child races or anything like that so I can't comment to that, I think Oriental Beauties faces mod is the best looking skyrim faces so far. Though some of the armors that come with a mask that turn you into a little loli are damn cute :) I do not use mods that make the game easier, only harder or balance fixes. I use all the weapons and armor fixes, smithing perk fixes, balanced magic, and various other fan fixes, and play on expert. The most OP thing Id say I use is dragonbone weapons, they are like 2-5% stronger than daedric, but cost a dragon heart (25% chance to drop from dragons iirc) and lots of bones/scales to craft so Id say its worth it and should have been there in vanilla anyway. I also do not perk smithing and enchanting together, either one or the other as 2 together is op. And I dont use pots for much other than health/mana/stam replenishing, or for poison on an assin rp char. I do not use % smithing/enchanting/alch buffs as they are just too op, nor do I use any of those alchemy+smithing/enchanting cheats. Easy game = boring. I usually dont die much but I find the game more fun with a cute companion/wife along for the ride. Their comments are so cute with the japanese voices. Shi-ne, dragon! Ara? Ayaaaaggh! I do love anime and manga, has little to do with how I like my skyrim though. I mean Ill try anything if I think it looks cool. Oh to people like the op, anime and erotic are not intrinsically related, at all.... But theres nothing wrong with eromods as the body mods and skimpy armor mods are the most popular on nexus usually, none of which have anything to do with anime btw. I don't personally care that the body mods are nude or not, I use them because they look great in armor/clothes. Of course I'm one of those guys that thinks sexy clothes/skirts/stockings/boots ect are sexier than just being naked or overly skimpy with everything hanging out. IRL too ofc. WTB cosplay/maid cafe's in the US tyvm. Some people here will call anything anime-ish. Its such a broad and subjective term I dont like it nor use it. I love mods and mod authors who spend their time creating things. No matter what they make, someone somewhere is going to like it and use it. I appreciate the diversity and creativity that the modding community offers. The only thing I hate is people who disrespect and bash other peoples creations because they do not fit their tastes.

That is freaking cool ride. Creative idea moddin your dogs in lol!!! Feel free to share images/mods./self made game edits youve done in this thread. It's going well minus one or two. (plz keep spam/trash talking away thx)

What do you think about the magic system in Skyrim
Malakai88 replied to EnaiSiaion's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
There are mods, at least 2 in particular, that do everything you want TimF. Balanced Magic and Better Magic, both increase scaling of spells and such, but in slightly different ways. Both will do what you want. Then there are ones that just do destruction, but better and balanced revamp all magic schools. -
Yay! I'd be done playing skyrim already without mods. :)

Random spawn rate for dragons in 1.4 seems vastly decreased.

I saw the original posting of that ss elsewhere. Very cool, though I personally prefer my smooth anime girl :) Can't deny it looks awesome though. Here's my char, Arturia (yes based on saber tho I prefer this hair to current saber hairstyles around), 2 angles, with Hroki in the back (modded myself with skyrim npc editor into a 1h warrior companion, essential, and wifey, also edited the face so shes prettier): http://i44.tinypic.com/16joq5h.jpg Mods affecting appearance are oriental females (using files such as head mesh from the race version but applied to everyone, as current stand alone is messed up imo), caliente v3, killeokeo's cbbe armors, plus various other stuff. Armor is eisen platte, I prefer the vanilla version to the cbbe version atm. Hair needs to be found on your own, tho as a tip it can be found where that screenshot the OP posted originated :) Not that you can tell there but I also use the japanese voice files(their voice actors are soo much better sounding than the english ones) and sabers combat voice from nexus. If you also want the japanese voice files, totally legit to do, just change steam over to japanese, allow the download/update to go through, then copy the japanese voices and voicesextra bsa's to another folder, revert back to english steam, again allow update, then switch steam to offline mode and replace the english voices/extra bsa's with the japanese ones. All text and everything will be in english, with just japanese voices. Turn on full subtitles (which I use anyway, usually blaring some melodic death from winamp while playing) to understand convo's. The daedric goddess who you get dawnbreaker from (meridia??) sounds so freaking awesome in japanese, totally epic. ;)

Far too subjective a topic to ever work. Also a waste of time IMO but the previous reason is simple fact. The nexus servers are already so overloaded that nexus crawls and has page errors and dead connections during primetime, do we want to further overload the server, not to mention start even more flame wars in mod comments, with something subjective like this? Scroll through mods, tab click ones that look interesting, only dl what you like. Very simple... A quick note to the above poster, so an actual cat race (khajit) are ok as far as lore goes, but some nekomimi (cat cosplay, like the ears on the hair) is not? This is why this lore category is completely unfeasible. Modding are about creativity and freedom, not pigeonholing and restriction.

LOL and people were wondering if steam workshop was going to be the death of nexus. Those comments are both hilarious and sad. OMG RUN FOR THE HILLS ITS A NIPPLE!!!! I wish I cared enough to log in/register, id say 'I heard that people have those, take a look next time you take a shower'. Id rather say take a look at your gf/wife, but I doubt anyone scared of a nip has one of those. ;) I guess no 'adult' mods allowed there? No body mods, skimpy clothes, ect? Epic fail.

Getting seriously annoyed by people disrespecting anime mods...
Malakai88 replied to Axisdeath's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
There are certain other sites where modders gather that may not be discussed here that I frequent. Its a simple fact, some great modders do not post their work here because of the rotten comments and general unappreciation of a vocal minority of nexus users. Nexus is a great site and probably 90% of the users either are fine with anime mods, or like many in this thread won't use them but do not feel the need to try to regulate what others download. If I spent hours/days/weeks designing something, frankly I'd be hesitant as well to post somewhere I knew Id have to wade through a bunch of nasty comments to find the actual comments and constructive criticism/bug reports I am looking for. Especially when there are already other forums where I know people are going to love the work and respect me as a modder and contributor to a great online community, places where people disrespecting mod authors are banned & thats the end of it. I don't care if its about anime mods, this should be a uniform rule: If you disrespect a mod author or post nasty comments about their work, you should be banned from nexus, period. This site is quite busy already, and the community is quite large, we don't need people who do nothing but bring it down and deter content. -
Getting seriously annoyed by people disrespecting anime mods...
Malakai88 replied to Axisdeath's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Frankly the anti anime/jmod sentiment is keeping great mods off nexus. If you dont like anime stuff, don't download it, but the bitching in the comments of their mods is rude and making a LOT of well known mod makers flat refuse to allow their work to be posted on nexus. Some of oblivions best and most popular mods were jrpg/anime oriented, from races to armors to clothes, and you guys are chasing off great mods doing this. I dont understand why the admins dont put a stop to it in the comments, start banning people for it. Again if you dont like them, just don't download or look at them. No one is forcing you to dl and install them. I personally love them and the haters here are forcing me to have to scour other sites looking for great armor and clothes and such. Again several great oblivion modders I talk to on other sites WILL NOT allow their work to be posted on nexus for the reasons talked about here. I have a personal belief that the people who take the time to click on an anime-ish mod, look at the screens, then complain about it really do like it but are just trying to be trendy by complaining or afraid to admit they love it. And most of those people are using calientes or demonizeds bodies and such, which are also based on anime style females. I use the japanese voice files and sabers combat voice, and various armors and clothes (such as eisen which is also rather anime-ish, yet is one of the most popular nexus mods) that are jrpg'ish, and oriental faces, and coolsims/rans hair and guess what: my skyrim looks fantastic. What about rens hairs from oblivion, incredibly popular mod, guess what, also anime-ish. Get it together guys. Jrpg style mods are incredibly popular. Your hurting the modding community by acting like this. Modding a game is about changing it to suit your tastes, there are no rules except to respect the modders and appreciate what they do, with their own time and talent, just for us. I also find it humorous how some people seem to be afraid of seeing some skin or sexy in skyrim. Your anonymous here, no need to pretend your the victorian morality police. If your going to stare at a character for 100+ hours, why not have her be a sexy minx? -
Can't wait for more j-mods now that the ck is here. Not that I dont love *site not allowed* but itll be easier when we can find em on nexus..

Tex pack kills my fps worse than enb in caves/dungeons (everywhere else is fine), think im going to extract the archives and just use armor and clothing textures. Its really not surprising I only have a 512mb card.
