  1. I don't know the first thing about modding, and I'm someone who if I make mods the game will no longer be fun. As for getting shot in the head... Smaller calibers often "graze the skull" from a distance. In VATS I can use a small caliber pistol and headshot someone from 20 yards away. It's not a guarantee every time in real life.
  2. Hey all... So I'm trying to create a "realistic combat experience". I think I can handle adding other things to add more immersion like fast travel tweak, item weights, etc... Here's my dilemma... There are too many "balancing" mods to chose from, and most of them aren't accurate. I want to make combat more intense, with balanced weapon damages, armor soaking, etc... My current issues are (with current mods): - headshots are too overpowered. Not ALL headshots kill on the spot, especially with smaller calibers - ESPECIALLY when you're wearing a helmet (mod: Better Locational Damage) - Combat damages are inconsistent. Sometimes a ghoul can beat on me for 10 minutes while an attack dog can kill me in a few hits (mod: Arbitration, increased player and enemy damage). - Larger calibers aren't penetrating how they should be. I just need some help. What do you use for combat immersion? What can I do?! I want to have a reason to sneak into battle, to have enemies plan their attacks better, and to plan attacks accordingly. Thanks in advance!!!!!!!!!!!
  3. Very informative so far. So are there stable tools to keep in mind for when I start modding tomorrow? I do plan to mainly change AI, combat, weapons balance, item balancing. I usually don't ADD content. Also would like to do an ENB and some retexturing.
  4. Hey all... So I suck at modding. However I am curious, as a means to make myself a "how-to" for installing any kind of mod (i.e. not like those that the STEP tutorial suggests), are the installs relatively the same when using 3rd party tools for installing Fallout 4 mods as you would tidying up Skyrim mods? In other words, do you need to "clean" things up or mesh things together or whatever? I am really desperate for a stable modded game, so if I need to "apply filters for cleaning" all the time or whatever I would like to know what I'm in for. Sorry if this post is confusing. MODDING for me is confusing because of all the extra set up. If only I had the stamina and intelligence of a Gopher.
  5. Hey all. So I'm wanting to come back to Skyrim after seeing all these awesome retextures and such. I've learned a little while being away (mainly with Mod Organizer), and I am wanting to know if the STEP guide is still the best out there. I'm curious because of tools like TES5Edit and WyreBash, the latter of which I've never used. I'm fairly confident that this will be the LAST time I attempt to mod and play through Skyrim. I have a couple hundred hours into the game and I've never beaten it, because I get enticed with a new mod and break the game. >< I screw it up every time. Thoughts? (LORE FRIENDLY modding goals are: enhanced retextures/models, better LOD loading, tweaked combat (archery) / talents, environment sounds, follower /horse enhancement, No new quests or spells or anything.)
  6. I see videos by people like Hodi and Brodual... Don't know how they do it. I'm jealous honestly. Pointers appreciated too!
  7. Hey all... Going to be brief. I mess up modding way too often, to a point where I rage-delete my entire library and game. I am partially disabled and lose track easy when it comes to doing things on the computer or reading (but excel at other things NOT computer related). The thing is, I REALLY want to have a stable, pretty Skyrim ("next gen" graphics), with immersion / texture mods / combat rebalances... Would anyone care to help? I'm not sure what to expect. It's just a something overwhelming for me at times. Call me whatever you want, but...meh. Thanks in advance.
  8. Heya.... I've seen it discussed about using the 64-bit version of LOOT beta or whatever with Mod Organizer to organize your load order... Anyone know how to do this? If not that, how can I sort my load order WITHOUT using Mod Organizer? I have a "lockedorder" text file. Can I import that anywhere and have it arranged? Thanks in advance, all! ~C
  9. Hey all. I recently broke a save. Is there a mod that allows me to complete quests? I've been trying to speed through the ones I've done with console command "movetoqt" (haven't beat game yet [played for 144 hours] haha) but it's buggy and has now given rise to bugs. What can I do?
  10. Hello, community! Cory here. I'll keep this brief so I don't waste your time! I love Skyrim. I met my fiance by playing Skyrim. But guess what? I've never beaten it! No, I am too fascinated with mods, so I'm constantly restarting my game because of corrupted saves or wanting a better roleplaying experience. My problem is that I WANT to play Skyrim, and with all the wonderful mods out there I want it to be cosmetically remarkable in lore friendly ways with realism mods mixed in with it. I mess up modding all the time. My last mistake was using a mod combiner. It just simply didn't work, and I deleted Skyrim out of frustration. I haven't played since... What I'm wondering is this, could someone help me mod my game so that I can have it work for but ONE playthrough?? I watched videos on how to use the Skyrim edit tool to remove duplicates and such, but I kept getting crashes. I have a computer that I can play Skyrim with all kinds of mods with, and there are so many beautiful and amazing mods I wish to use! I would GLADLY, GLADLY use Skype or a screen sharing program with whoever wishes to help. I want this to work, but ugh! Take care. Best to you all! Yours truly, ~Cory
  11. Hey, all... Cory here. I have a sleuth of graphic mods and a few other mods to increase "immersion". I'm getting this line in my Papyrus log after a crash. It keeps happening randomly. Please help me resolve this. I've done extensive research and everyone seems to go off on a tangent or post their issue in thread where people are discussing other things. Thank you in advance! Any and all help is appreciated.
